Great experience! I had the Cluck Classic sandwich, which I actually wouldn't recommend getting to anyone (they should replace the Mayo with their house-made sauce). Wow, the best chicken sandwich ever. Well seasoned friend chicken breast, crisp shredded lettuce and light mayonnaise. The buns are perfect in softness and wrap for this masterpiece. The sandwich is huge and easy to split for 2 people. Side of curly fries was huge but just ok in flavor. The star is the sandwiches. The sauces on side are a bit pricey. The young man that took our order Was very helpful. I ordered the Nashville Hot Sandwich in medium heat. Hubby ordered chicken tenders on mild heat and a order of fries. My sandwich as pretty good. Chicken was juicy and breading had perfect crunch. The heat was good, I felt maybe it could have been a tad hotter, so next time I'll just go up a level! The curly fries were actually really good. Ok so right off the bat, I consider myself a hot sauce aficionado. I ordered the 2nd to the hottest tenders which has ghost peppers and habanero, no Carolina Reaper. Ooweeee first bite was bomb and tastey but after the 2nd tender, I was full blown breathing heavy, tearing up, couldnt talk. I could not finish the last tender. I swear it had carolina reaper. Eating the bread that had soaked in hot sauce did not help either. I couldnt imagine the hottest tenders. Too damn much. I like Dave's hot chicken carolina reaper and that was more tolerable. Okay what the heck.. the bad or poor reviews on here are truly coming from picky entitled people who know nothing about food. This chicken is fat juicy delicious and always hot, fresh, ready to eat. You can choose no spice at all, so don't let the spice level options fool you if you're someone who just doesn't want any heat. People talking about the prices? It's SO cheap compared to other chicken places I've been to so unless you're comparing this to McDonald's .. ? Than it's expensive. But when you compare it to other California chicken joints it's extremely reasonable. There is also size differences for the side choices, ask questions if your not sure about the quantity. The sides are amazing .. I've tried them all. My favorite is fried pickles and corn fritters! Honestly heaven in your mouth. I would also like to point out that every time I go in here .. the owner is making food in the back slaving away. That says ALOT about the owner and how he runs the restaurant. He cares about the quality of food and what goes into every bite. From my point of view this is a person who wanted to bring delicious and comforting chicken sandwiches to town.. such a good home southern feel about this place. If you're reading these reviews to see how it compares to howling ray's, I'd say the taste of the spice is slightly different but very delicious nonetheless! My favorite part of the Nashville Hot was the vinegar slaw. Sweet and flavorful, and plenty of it too! I got Medium spice, which was way spider than Howling Ray's medium. I do plan to come back here again, but definitely going to get the mild cus I'm a wuss. Overall great place, kind staff, and comfortable location (with plenty of shaded outdoor seating). The only thing missing was an Arnold Palmer. I think they currently only have a fountain drink machine because I didn't see any drink menu. Their comeback sauce was very delicious too. I didn't get fries, but I imagine that it would go really well with it! I'll come back soon for more! read more

Been waiting for this place to open and I am very happy. The chicken is fresh and moist. I am a big fan of raising canes but their breading has a lot more flavor and crunch....plus you have a variety of sauce choices. So this is my first time at this restaurant. I was excited because it was what I was actually looking for which was a actual good chicken sandwich. When I get in and order my food there's a gentleman at the register who hand me a cup to get a drink I didn't ask for a cup I didn't require a cup and no I hadn't already paid for a cup with my meal he just offered me one. So as I'm waiting for my food I go and get a drink with a cup that he's given me they call my order and I ask the gentleman who brought the food out can I get a lid for the cup that was given to me that now has drink in it. I'm not sure if he's the manager or the owner but he was very extremely rude. He looks at me and says I don't think we have lids for those cups because those cups are supposed to be for water and not for the regular drinks that's called stealing but it's okay I'll buy you a drink. I told him the gentleman at the counter did not tell me that this cup was for water I didn't ask for a water cup I didn't ask for a drink in general the fact that he gave me the cup I just assumed it was to get a regular drink. But he chose to embarrass me in front of other customers telling me that I'm a thief and then I'm stealing a drink and then acted as if I could night pay for the drink so he needed to pay for it for me. I'm not sure if this was pure ignorance or racially motivated but I'm assuming because I'm a black male that that's the reason he talk to me the way he did. Regardless of all those things I still paid for the drink even though he said I can take care of it. I never needed you to take care of anything. what I needed you to do was say oh I'm sorry there's a misunderstanding that's a water cup if you'd like a regular drink there this price and I would've been happy to oblige. This is where you go for a hit-the-spot experience. They do all the work for you. All you need to do is provide the appetite! What I love is that their menu is simple, similar to how you go to In-N-Out and you know they won't fail you. Other things I like: the staff is friendly, relaxed and easy to work with. Had the Nashville chicken, medium with fries and comeback sauce for dipping. The chicken was tasty and perfect spicy level, not so much you can't eat it, but you know it's there. The comeback sauce was great with the fries. Now the bad, don't come here if you're worried about the price. $12 for a sandwich, just the sandwich no fries or anything. Just a sandwich the size of a $4 Popeyes chicken sandwich. Add fries and a drink and you're at $22 a person! They do give you a huge amount of fries that could feed 3 people, but that really didn't help me when I'm by myself. So if money is no object and you want a tasty sandwich, come here. Anything above mild and be prepared to have your lips burn. They have great sauce but know they charge. Some order come with a sauce included. Definitely the best chicken sandwiches and tenders in Irvine. On a couple different visits, we had the Nashville Hot chicken sandwiches, classic sandwich, chicken tenders, fries, ice cream cones, fried pickles, and corn fritters. I love spicy foods and the Nashville Hot did not disappoint. 5 levels of heat... first visit and I went with Level 4, Very Hot. Probably should have went lower for the first visit... I was fine for about 3/4 of the sandwich, but it ramps up, burning my lips and mouth with the spiciness. The second and 3rd time, I went with Hot (level 3) and found this to be a well balanced mix of heat and flavor. Or maybe my tastebuds were adapting... I may try the Very Hot. again. I'm a glutton for punishment. My wife got the mild and she thought that had kick, but was perfect for her. The sandwiches are huge... my wife could only eat half. I ate it all, but I see how it would be shareable for many. Kids loved the chicken tenders. Really great quality chicken. You can order these with or without the Nashville hot sauce. Our kids don't like spice, so plain with a side of ranch was perfect for them. All the sides were excellent. Fries, fried pickles, corn fritters. Highly recommend. The ice cream cones were a bit sad. $3 for a cone and the ice cream was barely above the rim of the cone. Probably the only thing I wouldn't get again. The other downside was price. 2 sandwiches, fries, chicken tenders and two cones was over $50. Not exactly a lunch spot for the family. Good chicken sandwich. We ordered Nashville sandwich hot and mild, corn fritter, fries, bacon potato salad, and chicken tender mild. Issue is that their mild is not mild or their quality control on the spicy level just sucks. My kids could not eat one bit of "mild" chicken tenders. I generally eat spicy food pretty well but this one took some effort. My wife thought her "mild" Nashville sandwich is not so mild. I have to admit that their sandwich is good overall but spiciness is all messed up, Imo. I did not see even one small bit of bacon in their bacon potato salad but otherwise a decent potato salad. Corn fritter is just average. Curly fries are ok. If i were to try it again, i may ask for no spicy version of chicken tenders. Not sure if they have such option. read more
