Went here for the first time and wasn't real impressed with the front end. I ordered a Wet Burrito, small potato salad, and a Dr. Pepper. The young man had to look over the counter to see if they even carried Dr. Pepper, they do. The burrito was bland and had lots of rice very little chicken and no sour cream. The potato salad was even more bland and really bad. While ordering the young man's phone and he stopped taking my order to answer his phone, not even being his phone he made it a point to inform the young working with him it was her phone ringing. What a terrible lunch I just had. I ordered nachos and the woman making it was not wearing gloves and just grabbed chips with her BARE hands. They then put a styrofoam container with chips and shredded cheese in the microwave to melt it. Shouldn't nachos be made on a plate where it can be heated properly then transferred to a Togo container? Microwaving cheese just makes them all stick together in very hard clumps. Also the toppings they put on came from tiny plastic containers and when he dumped the jalapeños and salsa there was a ton of liquid so the entire bottom of the nachos were soggy. I ate these five minutes after they were made so it's not a timing issue. It was amazingly both hard and over cooked cheese, with soggy chips, bland toppings, and very dry chicken. DANG!!!! The woman who works here is a completely disrespectful, rude human being who has zero business working the front. We came in to buy a family meal as we are a large family and she heard "mini" from my daughter when in fact she said, "family" as we are a large group.. no big deal except she had a tantrum about trying to change it. She had loud exaggerated sighs, and made my kids uncomfortable. Then, when I asked her name she had an even bigger attitude, and refused to tell me. The older woman who worked at about 4:15 on 8/9/23 is absolutely horrible to deal with. This is a new place within Stater Bro market plaza on corner of Day creek and base line. Been here 3 times for take outs and been wonderful; already and it's been great. Ordered take outs and the quality, freshness .. amazing. similar to El Pollo Loco but not grilled. it's baked in rotating oven. it's pretty new so it's clean and staff very helpful and friendly. Now for the food, ordered mini meal, chicken was great size, warm tortillas, chickens skin was a great crisp and brown. But flavor was real bland just a bit dry, and rice was bland and beans the same, even the potato salad was bland . Not much flavor, even after adding a lot of lime and chilli, didnt help much. Ordered a 3 piece meal white meat, with hot salsa and extra tortillas. They said they did not have white meat ready. The guy in the back said it would be a while because they had six other white meat orders. I asked how long and they could not give me an answer. Then the guy in the back said he would take care of it. My order was ready about 5 mins later. I asked if it the order had everything it and they said yes, 3 piece white meat with hot salsa and extra tortillas. Got home and my wife was disappointed that it was in fact just a 2 piece white meat order. 2 chicken breast/wings with rice and beans. No potato salad. My wife wanted the potato salad. Omg !! Delicious ! I grew up on Juan pollo but recently moving over to Rancho Juan pollo is not that close... but Cluck N pollo is way better. The cashier was friendly and helpful. I liked the variety offered at this place. So many options for chicken. I had the hard shell tacos with a small order of rice. Great flavor in the rice and tacos. I liked how the the rice did not have chicken in it. I also tried the potato salad, which tasted like Juan Pollo's. Staff was very friendly, was even offered chips for our dine in meal. Potato salad is Amazing and a must try for those that don't like the overwhelming mustard taste that most potato salads have!! I loved that the rub they use to marinate the chicken isn't too salty and the cook on the chicken was perfect. Discovered this place awhile ago when they were building it and heard or read somewhere that the people opening it used to work at Juan Pollo (never confirmed this) and since I LOVE me some Juan Pollo I stopped in. Honestly not only is it crazy closer but to ME the food is every bit as good as Juan Pollo. The chicken tacos are identical and I love love love them. The service has always been great, fast and clean- the price point is also very good. Okay so where do I begin? I used to work here when they first opened, it's a mom and pop ran business, with the son too! The son is pretty cool and the dad is too, even the grandma works there and she's super sweet! The mom has always been a rude older lady, she's always salty about something it seems. She always got complaints about her customer service and I see now that I'm on the customer end, she isn't friendly at all and just tosses the receipt at you and the beverage, doesn't even tell you your orders ready just sets it on the counter and expects you to know it's yours. Me and my sister in law had parked in the back one time and she walked through the back door acting like she was talking to someone saying "looks like Rebecca will have to park in the front" well guess what I guess so because news flash it's open parking for anyone anywhere I don't go here often because they are rude to me and make me feel awkward and unwanted but it's nice to get some chicken every once and awhile!
