I had issues with a toilet constantly running resulting in the tank constantly having to refill. Additionally, the shut off valve, when fully closed, would allow water to continue to pass through. My home warranty service hired CM Plumbing to complete the work order. I'm almost certain the owner of CM Plumbing was the person that arrived. He arrived on time, was very positive, transparent and clear with what he was going to do, how he was going to proceed, and was very pleasant to work with. I felt safe having him in my home. I would use CM Plumbing again for plumbing jobs even if not using my home warranty company. read more

I had one of the worst service experiences, and unfortunately, my experience seems consistent with several other reviews here. I had a toilet back up due to so-called "flushable wipes." I contacted First American Home Warranty since plumbing coverage was included with the purchase of my home, and CM Plumbing Services Inc. was sent out as the service provider. From the beginning, the plumber was not courteous and gave me the impression that he had little interest in troubleshooting or putting in the effort to resolve the issue. He told me he could not complete the work because there was no direct cleanout providing access to the toilet's main drain line. I asked whether he could simply remove the toilet and run a snake through the drain from there. Instead, he recommended modifying the plumbing by opening up the wall in my son's bedroom and installing a new cleanout. Are you kidding me? Opening a bedroom wall to address a clogged toilet before even attempting other reasonable methods made absolutely no sense to me. I told him I was not authorizing that modification. He then stated that he could not complete the work and would submit his report to the home warranty company. I was left with the exact same plumbing problem I had before he arrived. With a backed-up toilet affecting the bathroom, you would expect a plumbing professional to make a reasonable effort to troubleshoot the problem and find a solution. Unfortunately, I experienced very little concern, effort, or empathy from CM Plumbing Services. I ultimately called Rapid Plumbing Inc., and the difference was night and day. They responded quickly, were willing to troubleshoot the issue, and actually focused on solving the problem rather than finding a reason they couldn't do the work. Based on my experience, I would stay away from CM Plumbing Services Inc. I found the service unprofessional, uncommitted, and well below what I would expect from a professional plumbing company, especially one being dispatched to homeowners through a home warranty provider. read more

BEWARE!!!! This company works for First American Warranty. For a covered water heater Dan from CM plumbing gave me a price of $1,375.00 for modifications over and above the water heater cost? Example venting modification $195.00. The vent is new in 2017 and goes straight up from the tank through the ceiling. There is no modification!! That's just one item. Dan said he doesn't do the pricing the owner does Chris. When I called the office the girl said Chris doesn't come up with the prices Dan does? I've waited two weeks and they never called me back. CM Plumbing was Recommend by our Home Insurance. Loved this company. From the time our home insurance company created the request on Sat 4/18/26 within 24 hours not including weekends. Christine from there office reach out first thing Monday morning 4/20/26 and scheduled us with 4 hour time frame. On Tuesday from 8A-12P 4/21/26 Casey Service Techician came on time and assessed our water heater. He gave both my husband and I his finding. Informed us they will contact our insurance what's covered and what we would decide after. Again less than 24 hours Christine got back to me via text on Wed 4/22/26 since unable to answer had a medical emergency. But as soon as I was able called her back. What our insurance covered a new water heater. Only thing not covered modification to code. Had to pay out of pocket. When we decided within a day my husband and I decide on 4/23/26 will be able to come up with the extra funds . Contact Christine to be schedule since Saturday 4/25/26 open up. Booked right away to get done. Then Service Technician Casey came out earlier than the 4 hours time frame. We didn't mine we made sure stayed home just to wait for him. Since he completed job early. My husband and I was still able to enjoyed our Sat late Brunch with each other. He completed installing our New Water Heater modified to code. And taken our old water heater and left area clean prior to leaving he given us final instruction and informed us what he did accompanied with invoice for us to sign. In 2023, CM Plumbing was dispatched by my home warranty company, American Home Shield (AHS), to replace my broken tankless water heater. I was without hot water for two weeks, which I wasn't thrilled about. On top of that, they charged me $882 out of pocket for "modifications" not covered by AHS. Fast forward to May 2026, I had Scott McCleod Plumbing come to do routine maintenance on the heater. Their senior tech took one look at the water heater CM Plumbing installed and told me there's a CODE VIOLATION - a tankless water heater with an N-vent was hooked up to the atmospheric B vent that runs through my 2-story house and out of the roof. Turns out, this a CARBON MONOXIDE AND FIRE HAZARD. He told me Noritz makes heaters specifically to attach to B vents and that if CM Plumbing had installed one of those in 2023, the $882 modifications would not have been needed. I came to find out that water heaters are required to be permitted by law. CM Plumbing NEVER PULLED A PERMIT. Had that been done properly this would have been avoided in 2023. CM Plumbing inspected the heater and apologized that it was done improperly, but they refused to fix it by installing the correct heater that works with my setup. Instead they offered to run a long ugly vent clear across my 3-car garage or refund me $350. They said the heater was ordered by AHS, as if that was some kind of logical defense. They installed it anyway knowing it was a hazard! So not only did they get the insurance money and my $882 in unnecessary modifications, but now I must replace their code violating, unpermitted heater at my own expense for thousands of dollars minus the $350 they offered me. After exchanging several texts/emails, I rejected their offer and gave up trying to reason with them. I am having Scott McCleod Plumbing replace the water heater to code and have submitted a formal complaint against CM Plumbing to the Contractors State Licensing Board for the financial restitution of the full cost of correction. I have also notified AHS Corporate Relations about this situation. I write this review as a warning to others - read the one-star reviews on this page and be careful of the contractors assigned by home insurance. Don't be afraid to get a second opinion, especially if they want you to pay for modifications. Check if the job requires a permit/inspection. It might save you a lot of money and heartache. read more

CM Plumbing Services was sent to my house through my home warranty company, First American, to diagnose a very loud screeching noise in our pipes whenever water was running. To their credit, the technician did correctly identify the issue as a failing pressure regulator. But that's where things started to feel questionable. I was told the repair required a "pipe modification" and was quoted $425 out of pocket. Anyone who has dealt with home warranties knows that once the word "modification" is used, First American immediately denies coverage. That effectively made the entire repair my responsibility. Instead of paying $425, I took First American's measly $50 cash-out option and hired my own plumber for a second opinion. He replaced the pressure regulator for $225 and confirmed there was absolutely no pipe modification needed. So what should have been a simple pressure regulator replacement turned into a quote for hundreds of dollars for work that wasn't even necessary. If you're assigned CM Plumbing through a home warranty, I strongly recommend getting a second opinion before agreeing to any "modification" charges. Very disappointing experience. read more

Had a common complaint seen in other reviews. Went through First American Home Warranty. CM was assigned to replace a pressure regulator and claimed $575 of modifications were necessary. An independent plumber indicated that no modifications were needed. If CM is assigned to your home warranty job, be cautious about their assessment that additional work is required. And the main problem they cause is that warranty company will offer a low buyout, so their uplift tactic is more than an annoyance, it leads to a poor financial outcome with the repair. They will refute this, but see the other reviews to confirm their pattern of behavior. I'd love a copy of your detailed report (as offered in your reply), the warranty company says it is a verbal assessment. read more

On 5/15/26, I placed a call to my insurance, First American Home Warranty for a plumbing issue and they provided CM Plumbing Service who sent their tech, Dan to diagnose issue with garbage disposal. He was a skilled, professional, courtous tech who determined in just a few minutes that it was not repairable and replaced it (all within approx. a half an hour). as he had the necessary equipment in his vehicle. My warranty company assigned my shower cartridge issue to another company who did not follow through and I was finally able to have my request routed to CM plumbing. I spoke to Crystal and she has always been so polite and helpful and she got the appointments scheduled for me and Chris came out and installed the new cartridge. Moved into our house about 6 Months ago. Found a hot water slab leak. Went through First American Home Warranty. To be honest it was a terrible experience with the warranty company. I have a home warranty so thought it was good Ng to be a breeze to resolve a leaking kitchen faucet. Good old FA referred me to PLWR Plumbing. They stayed there would be an out of pocket cost as they had to do a modification to install a new faucet and repair the angle stop. (both are covered). I call this Bogus and reached out to CM Plumbing. Spoke with Crystal. Got a quote for repair $300. They were out the next day and fixed the issue without the so called modification indicated as needed. David was a pleasant professional plumber and was done in an hour.
