The most incompetent company I've ever dealt with. This company completely wasted my time. Their technician came to my house, looked at my AC unit, and told me it was "broken" and needed to be replaced. When I asked for an estimate on a new system, they said they couldn't provide one because they didn't know how to rebuild the support structure for the unit. That was unbelievable--they're supposed to be professionals. I decided to call another technician, who came promptly, correctly diagnosed the real issue, and fixed the problem the same day. Here's what the second technician explained: The main inoperation diagnosis was; Condensate Drainline failure. Adjustment in the drainline as well as cleaning and flushing was done in order for the unit to start working properly. Also, the thermostat presented signs of malfunction and was replaced in order to prevent future breakdowns. Full preventive maintenance and inspection was also performed and no other faults were reported. Thanks to the second company, my AC is working perfectly. This first company either didn't know what they were doing or tried to upsell a full replacement unnecessarily. Bottom line:Avoid this company. They lack the basic competence to diagnose or quote repairs -- and almost cost me thousands of dollars for no reason. In response to the manager: When a service provider cannot perform the work they were contracted for due to their own limitations and lack of knowledge, I believe any customer is justified in asking for their money back or they can put an honest one star review read more

A clarification: Contrary to CMI's response, the water leak was indeed related to my AC system as it was the condensate line - specifically the threaded pipe fitting that is removed to blow out the line as part of the normal maintenance. And an update: CMI's customer service manager did promptly reach out to me to offer a refund, subject to a condition I was not on board with. Thankfully, after some discussion, CMI saw their way to refunding me without conditions the remainder of my service agreement in conjunction with its cancellation. I hope that CMI management learns something from this customer's experience about being more sensitive and gracious to requests. read more

We requested to have a general inspection done to our 3.5 ton air conditioning unit for our home we bought a year ago. Ivan came out today and spent over an hour on our roof where the AC is located He completely cleaned our AC unit with a vacuum and even brought the hose up to the roof for further deep cleaning. He provided an extremely thorough breakdown of the status of the air conditioning unit explaining piece by piece. He was honest upfront and provides us with options instead of instilling panic and pushing a sale. We will be moving forward with a membership with CMI and couldn't be more pleased with Ivan's professionalism, honesty, and compassion for new home owners learning about a 10 year old AC unit. Unfortunately , CMI installed two new units in my home 2 years ago, I've had a few challenges and the service experience has not been great. They had to come out to my house multiple times , because certain technicians were not able to troubleshoot properly. Within the hour of the call, I had the tech Henry call to say, he's on his way! I was soooo grateful for the CMI team working on a holiday! Even though I had to pay "holiday pay," it was quite affordable. Henry was punctual, efficient, knowledgeable, and willing to explain in detail what he was doing to examine the condenser. After his thorough inspection with questions, he deducted it was the capacitator and he had the part! He really made my holiday by working, being available and efficient. This company will promise you a lot but deliver very little. We contracted for 24 hour emergency service yet in the three service calls we made over the year. They never once made it in 24 hours. Their excuse was they were too busy. Their technicians were not well qualified, they had no parts and always had to wait in short. They weren't qualified at all to service our equipment. I have lived in the area for years and I'm so glad to have finally found CMI after some really bad experiences with other companies. We purchased two brand new air conditioners and installations from CMI. They completely failed in both installations. In one installation they admitted that they failed to install the unit properly, but it wasn't until the city inspector gave me a written notice that the install did not meet specs that they would come back to repair. The other unit was installed improperly, they charged me $300 to fix the unit mere months after it was installed (they laugh at "warranties"). On the unit the inspector failed, they came only years later, and then turned the breaker off to our heat exchanger outside, so we had hot air for two days before we realized what they had done. If you love to get ripped off then you should choose CMI. If you would like a company that stands behind the product, then you may choose another company for your air-conditioning needs. read more

I scheduled a service visit with CMI a few days in advance. I've used them for routine servicing for two years on my home a/c. This time I needed them to come out to tighten up a fitting they had left off during my last routine maintenance (there was dripping onto the filter as a result). I specified the visit was needed in the morning, I would not be home in the afternoon. CMI scheduled me as their second call of the day. Turns out second call of the day is 3 pm. Needless to say I never received the service. I work during the week and this was my only day off. When I voiced my displeasure in a review (as a pre-paying customer with a maintenance plan) they chose to respond by calling me hateful, miserable, and bitter. Avoid CMI unless of course you prefer the companies you do business with to waste your time, do shoddy work, and call you names. read more

I purchased an AC a few years ago and needed two more so I contacted them again last month to get a quote on two more. I decided to just buy one a couple weeks ago and signed the contract and gave the deposit yesterday, The office was quite rude telling me I needed to show them the DEED to my house and prove I am the owner of the home. I was quite offended since my Proposal, Deposit Check and my Driver License ALL stated my name, etc. I assured Morgan I was indeed the owner as the Trust, the checks and the entire transaction matched. She accused me of not being the owner and having to prove I owned the home and hung uo on me. I tried to call back and the office person who answered the telephone said she was gone for the day so I asked to speak to the owner, who has yet to contact me. This scenario is quite offensive and rude. I am an existing customer and have spent thousands of dollars at CMI. I am currently spending upwards of another $5,000, they have my deposit and I get hung up on? I have to prove I own my home? Air Conditioning in Florida is pretty important when it comes to comfort, moisture, and mold. This hold-up is preposterous and have yet to hear from the owner to discuss 1) being hung up on during a critical transaction and 2) continuing with my installation appointment as scheduled. The salesperson mentioned nothing about Deeds and such and having to provide the DEED mid-day while I was in transit was quite a tall order. read more

We have four air conditioners in our home and one area upstairs had a humidity problem. We tried for months with different companies to find the problem with our 90 percent humidity. We've been using CMI for about two years because our unit continues to get backed up. Terrence did a great job back in Feb. and the unplugging last about six months. We had to call them back. I am not sure who came out a week ago, but it was still leaking. I asked for Terrence this time, he came out, found the leak and was on his way. Every time I call they are nice and helpful and they always send someone out very quickly. read more

This is an experience that many businesses deal with and when told do nothing about it! If there was an option for 0 stars, that would be my choice. Three months after purchasing a home, my air conditioning quit working. Upon inspection, I discovered a CMI label and called them for repair. After a 10 minute inspection, they reported that my compressor motor had failed. They said they would have to get to me with a price and timeframe. After not getting back to me, I follow up with a phone call the next day and was told the motor could not be replaced and would need a new system, both compressor and air handler and asked if they could order. I said no and called another company. The repair took 30 minutes and cost $235. The issue was a failed run control modulator!!! I would never, ever recommend this company to anyone but will continue to express my most unpleasant experience. Lastly, after trying to contact the company owner, I was stonewalled and the employees did do a masterful job of not letting me get through to the owner. read more

Then proceeded to get three additional phone calls from three different CMi technicians about coming out to give me a quote. Is that the type of company you want to handle an "emergency" on your unit? If customers are so important, why can they not seem to keep track of this one? I have been with CMI for many many years now and always with great satisfaction. However,back in April just a few weeks after a scheduled service my air went out. When I called the office I told the girl that the light was out on the wall box. She had someone come out only to tell me to replace the batteries in the wall box...an $84 charge even though I have a service plan. Since then,I had relayed this experience with several neighbors who said their carrier told them to check the batteries right away. My Carrier did not !!! I guess I should look into their carrier for future service. I really wish CMI would graciously credit my account the $84 and save our long standing customer relationship. read more

Worst service department ever. They installed a new system in my home a few months ago. When the technician left he said he needed to install a new circuit breaker but he didn't have one, and someone would call me within the next couple of days to schedule an appt to install this new breaker. A few weeks go by and my new AC unit starts making loud noises and I called them to see about this breaker and check on the noise. Technician shows up WITHOUT the breaker and proceeds to tell me that they serviced the new unit incorrectly when it was installed and he had taken care of it. Then he says someone would call me to schedule appt for new breaker. A few more weeks go by and nothing from CMI. So I call them for a third time, and I was told that Danielle from the service dept would be contacting me. Never heard from them. So by now we are months after the install and I call them for a fourth time, same story Danielle would call me back. That was 4 days ago and still haven't heard from anyone. Bottom line is there are plenty of AC companies to use, if I were you I would keep looking if you are considering CMI. I wouldn't use them ever again. I went with them because they had the cheapest quote- you get what you pay for I guess. read more

CMI installed a new HVAC system in our residence in 2013-2014. We were told the old system had to replaced. Since 2014 the system has never worked properly. CMI serviced the system more than 7 times over a three year period. The customer service is one of the worst I have ever experienced. When we asked to have the system fixed, the staff in the office would just make excuses. Office staff even began yelling at us when we demanded that the system be fixed. This company is trying to run out the 10 year warranty and sell us another system. We spoke with close neighbors and they told us they have had the same experiences with CMI. This company should be investigated. They have scammed elderly people on more than one occasion. We eventually had to call another company to service and resolve the issue. read more
