They do whatever the person who pays them asks them to do with no concern towards the adjoining neighbour or the law. So they drilled rock into the back of our neighbor's yard to make it more dry during the pandemic and took out every single one of our fence posts ($2000 to rebuild fence). They leaned over our back fence and trimmed our back trees to the point that one became a tall stump with no top (it still exists, as a tall growing stump). And, they've trimmed my beautiful Maple tree on our side yard to the point that it started to lean on our garage, once again with their workers leaning over the fence line. I had to hire a service yearly to try to balance out their trimming, but they lean over my fence line about 3 feet into our tree and leave the tree branches on our side. I don't know if they know anything about Illinois laws regarding tree trimming--I'm guessing not. The icing on the cake was seeing their men on my driveway treating my front yard, without my permission, on camera, only because my neighbour (who has residency in Turks and Caicos Islands) asked them to put weed killer on my front yard. Unethical company. My tree company will not touch trees belonging to the neighbors. They've also installed a sprinkler in our front yard (?!) I had to put in a front yard fence to keep them off my lawn. I now have outside cameras and I've given them notice that I'm recording their workers (who of course all don't speak English no offence) trespassing on our yard. I get it -- neighbors can be not so great, but it's amazing what this company will do, in the name of making a buck. It's not like any of this would have happened if a normal landscaping company with ethics was doing the work. Something really is "off" re this company and when I try to speak to their workers, none of them will speak to me. I have to contact the owner every single time via phone or email. Who leaves workers with a tree elevator that lifts them up, with no English speaking person on the crew, and then they're lifting the person over the neighbor's fence to trim the neighbor's trees and I have zero time to even stop them. They only stop, actually, if you start videotaping them. And, then, they wait, and continue, if they think you're gone. Anything goes!

I don't understand why they don't blow all of the leaves into the yard before mowing or blow them into a pile afterward and take them away. This method is both lazy and rude, and makes me wonder whether they are trained to do this or whether the individuals who service this particular yard have developed this "shortcut."

All along I was telling them that I wanted this done before pool season. I already have the pool and patio (the hard stuff). I wanted to get the finishing touches with plants, lights, and the irrigation. Took weeks to get a design that you have to pay for ($500). All along I said I had $25k budget and they kept telling me they could make it work. Then after we settled on the design they said they had to get a quote for the irrigation (they outsource it), that took another three weeks. Then another three weeks to get the estimate which came in at $39k. Way over budget. They tried to get me to do it in pieces some this year and next because it was so over budget. They said that they underestimated the irrigation. But that was 7k, which means they were over budget before that while all along they were leading me on that they could do the project for my budget. They said they were a bigger company with marketing, a design team, HR, etc which is why they charge a bit of a premium compared to the mom and pop shops. Then my wife wanted to just do it despite my not liking how things were going, so I was going to go with it rather than start over with another search and miss the summer. So I asked when could we start and they said mid-July. That was it. I started this with them in early March, they took forever every step of the way, then they were like this is their busy season. But mid July, the summer is over then I have to deal with that mess during pool season. Never had they told me they couldn't do it early despite me constantly asking and saying I wanted this done before pool season (mind you, it was unseasonably cold for all of May so pool season started later than normal). That was it. They lost my confidence and I felt like they were not being straight with me. Then they blamed it on the new kid I was working with and maybe it was him, but that's their problem that they didn't train him better or stay on top of him while he was learning. But at the end of the day I asked the guy who cuts my grass weekly if he could do the landscape work and he did it; and did a great job (started the next week). I found AV Lighting And Irrigation on Yelp, he did a great job and worked with my landscaper to coordinate the projects. I was done in literally three weeks. Started talking to Mondo and AV in mid May, and was completely done in mid June. Project turned out fantastic, so with the $500 for the POE design, my entire project costs $24k. So under budget. POE's value prop was I pay the premium with them because they handle everything and I get this project managed white glove project, but what I got was delay, over budget, wasted time, and a good design. But if I'm being honest I could've got a similar design from Fiverr and used Mondo and AV and would've been fine. Maybe POE would've done a great job, but they couldn't get out of their own way and they were not worth what they were charging. 24k vs 39k, and I added more sprinkler heads, and the parkway, added more landscape and pergola lights...you decide? I included the finished project photos to prove that they other guys did a great job and I'm not just blasting POE. I'm fair and I don't doubt they'd have done a good job, they dropped the ball with my project.

POE is a poorly run. Steer clear of these guys. Experience shows they're incompetent.

From coming up with the design to guiding me in selecting the materials, he was top notch. There was one concern due to an issue the city inspector had, but Carlos had his crew out literally the next day to resolve it.
