Had a wonderful wedding reception on July 17 after getting married in January. Having booked it for January before COVID, Dani and the venue were very helpful in helping me reschedule the date to a time in the summer. Because of the delay, we were able to use the new outdoor, covered patio along with the Four Seasons room. We had access to the beautiful grounds and were ready to have lawn games but the storms thought otherwise. Even with the pouring rain, we were still able to take our family pictures outside in the covered patio. The venue was immaculate and the food amazing! Food was piping hot and the passed appetizers were huge! We really enjoyed the bite size french onion bowls and Baked Stuffed fish. Food was served family style at my choosing and honestly, it was presented well. Not just food thrown in a bowl! The wait staff were attentive and helpful. There was plenty of food to go around. With about 85 people, we had plenty of room for a dance floor, dj and 4 piece band. The bridal suite was warm, but we only used it twice- once to put on my dress and another time to change it. All in all it was a great night and working with Dani and Coachmen's was a great experience. read more

We did their take out for Thanksgiving and it was very good. Delicious mac & cheese, vegetables, stuffing, mashed potatoes, stuffed mushrooms, turkey (of course), and pumpkin pie. The turkey had to be cooked longer than we expected (it indicted we just had to warm it for an hour), but that's not a big deal. We really enjoyed everything. And the food fed more people, many more times than they said it would. We were very happy with it, and we will definitely be ordering from them again. Thumbs up!! read more

We booked their Four Season's Room for my baby shower this June, which is beautiful and very much cross-functional with the indoor/outdoor/covered outdoor space right within that room. I was so excited. Things were going great - all the details were discussed many months in advance. Then, they called me a month before the event to say they essentially double booked the room. An oversight when rescheduling a COVID 2020 bride which seemed to trump the importance of my baby shower. I don't know exactly who had the room first, but it didn't matter, there was no way to reasonably negotiate with them to have my event in the space that we booked. (I offered to shave off an hour at the end of my shower but they blatantly said, "No.") They offered a completely different space for us - a huge ball room with a completely segregated, uncovered, all grass outdoor space. (A space where I literally said upon touring months ago that I wouldn't want for my shower, as it's clearly all set up for a large wedding.) It just wasn't appropriate for my small, casual shower. So, I spent the days to follow calling small venues all across Massachusetts and there's absolutely no availability anywhere, as everyone is catching up on 2 years of events in one summer. So, I called Coachmen's back to reluctantly see if their ball room would still be an option out of desperation. Whoever answered the phone said she could talk to me and answer any questions I had but then was so confused because my original baby shower was still on the books. I asked if the manager could call me back later that day. She assured me they would but of course they never did. They did give us a full deposit refund for their mistake - but not without first mentioning they typically only do refunds in form of gift cards to the restaurant. (Uh? Of course that would never be acceptable given the circumstances.) Needless to say/tl;dr - They seem very much unorganized right now so please be aware they could make critical mistakes in booking your important event, too. read more

We hadn't been out for around six months due to Covid. We selected Coachmen's Lodge since it's consistently delicious and service impeccable. We remembered they had beautifully manicured gardens and patios and it was a beautiful night so we thought we'd make it our first foray out. So happy we did! Our waitress, who has served us before, was amazing. I really have to give kudos to the entire staff. They have quite a long distance to get to the tables outside and they didn't appeared bothered by it at all. We ordered the scallops atop a sweet potato puree and stuffies as appetizers. These are the best stuffies we've ever had (Portugese style); unfortunately they only serve them in the warmer months. For dinner, we ordered chicken parmigiana (fab as usual) and the haddock special. Their food is by far, some of the freshest and well-prepared we've experienced. Consistency is key and they've nailed it! The outdoor garden is very romantic although there were families there as well. It sits beside a beautiful pond and they have taken care to add outdoor lights in the trees. We suggest wearing a little bug spray, but really not too bad. Not sure how long it takes for a review to be posted, so sorry if this is a duplicate. My husband and I went for dinner last night. We drove over a hour each way to get there. The evening started out great at the bar with Jackie and then we moved to a table for our 8:30 reservation with Kim. The service and food were excellent. Kim made great recommendations and took the time to bring samples of wine so we could make a selection to buy a bottle. While we were having dessert and a cocktail, we heard the manager tell Kim and the other servers that she needs the money. WHO DOES THAT? The table of 8 next to us was looking to get another round as well. As we were leaving I went over to the manager Melanie and other bartender Diane to tell them how we felt and how that came across. They did not care what I had to say or how things were handled. I have been in the restaurant business for over 40 years and have never has any of my staff or myself ever said that in front of paying customers. I understand that we all want to go home at the end of our shifts, but it should have been handled in a more professional manner. We ate outdoors at the patio tables behind the bar. The outdoor space in general is fabulous and the ambience was perfect for a Saturday evening. Excellent, young, and attentive waitstaff with knowledge of both the cocktail and food menus. The food and cocktails were excellent throughout the evening. Had a dispute over the bar tab during an event- several times. Cant speak to the appetizes as they were only served on the patio, not to those taking photos. After over one hour someone took our order, because my wife wouldn't walk out. Another hour and 15 minutes our dinner arrived. Meal was partly hot, partly cold, not good at all. First time here. Classy elegant atmosphere. Clean facilities. Fast service, sat down within 2 minutes. Ordered drinks had them in 5 mins to the table. The prices are high but the portions are well worth it. Had the chicken parmigiana, seafood bisque. Fabulous meal no complaints. The desserts salted caramel cheesecake the bomb! Expensive We visited Coachman last weekend. Coachman was close for us so we decided to try it. We got there ahead of the crowd so the wait staff was fairly attentive. However once they started to get busy, service quickly went down hill. It took us almost 30 minutes to pay After we had the bill. What's that all about? Anyway let's talk food. For an app, we had the melted feta, it was really good but salty. For an entree we split a burger. The burger tasted pretty good. Not that anyone from the restaurant would know since no one checked to see how our meal was. Very disappointed in how the service deteriorated as they got busy. It's not like they are an inexpensive place so I expected at least decent service. Also, the website states gluten free options available which they had some, but when questioned, the restaurant really didn't want to go out of their way to explain what was or wasn't gluten free. I love this place. The food is great. The ambiance is amazing. My experiences here have been good. I celebrated my 25th Wedding Anniversary there five years ago. My husband and I returned again this August to eat there in celebration of our 30th Wedding Anniversary. The food was great, the amount of the food was insane. The reason why this is not a 5 star review is because unfortunately we had a bad experience with Melanie the manager. There were five tables in use in the area we were sitting. She visited all tables to find out as to how the night and service was. I was excited for her to stop at ours to talk about the 25th wedding anniversary and why we decided to return that night. Unfortunately she visited all the tables and completely ignored my husband and I. Not sure if it was we didn't look like we could afford it or that we were not the right color, or she didn't like the way we looked, etc. Whatever the reason - it left a bad taste and experience for us. The drinks and food were on point (recommend trying the Lemon-Dill Salmon). Our server Emily was excellent. She was very attentive, accommodating and outgoing. Bridal Shower Brunch, 7/8/2023 What a fantastic time we all had at Coachmen's Lodge, Bellingham, MA!!! The planning with Dani was stress free and perfect to the very last detail! Our staff for the day, Jen, Loni, Sophia, Apo and Chris (sorry if spelled wrong), were all top notch, professional, personable and just a lot of fun to hang out with for the day! They were all part of the family by the end of the event! The food was hot and delicious. Dani suggested a small change to the chicken and it was phenomenal! Lots of wonderful choices on the menu options and Dani helped us to work through some changes. The chefs also provided a very last minute change for a few of our gluten free guests! The Four Seasons room with the outdoor space was beautiful and worked perfectly for our guests. Parking was plentiful and the room access is easy for anyone with physical challenges. Honest review. It was 8pm on Friday and we wanted a nice night out. We have our stomping grounds and we have our favorite chains. For some reason we never came here for dinner. We've done a wedding and a group thing here, which were both fine. Family style chicken isn't rocket science though. First off, we were going to call for reservation...that didn't happen. We just showed up. The place looked like it was winding down for the night and we were seated in the main room instantly. Normally, we'd do the bar area and catch the Sox, but we just wanted to relax. Quiet table next to the fireplace. A bunch of older people in the corner hamming it up and a small family on the other side. Good sized menu and a sheet of specials. Grabbed the drink menu, no beer list...but a fair amount of wines. Ordered a bottle for the both of us to share. Waitress poured our glasses while explaining the menu. Everything sounded amazing. We did the homemade mozzarella things to start. Pretty awesome and the marinara was great. The bread at the table was cranberry honey. Awesome, but sticky as hell. I ordered the Diver's seafood pasta. White wine sauce with giant pieces of lobster, scallops, shrimp, and red peppers. Came with broccoli cheddar soup, decent but a little different. My food was great. She, took the recommendation of the waitress and did the braised pork ravioli. OMG. Just get it. Everything about it is great. And the portion leaves you some to take home. Her's came with chicken n rice soup. Decent, heavy on the celery. Got halfway through our bottle by the time we finished. We almost never do dessert and we were both crazy full. But with a half bottle left, why not. We did the Smores thing. What an amazing way to finish. Sweet, salty, chocolate, ice cream, whipped cream, toasted marshmallows. Yep. $120, including tip. Waitress was fantastic. Great suggestions, nice attitude, not up your ass. Toward the end of the night, Noel stopped by our table. He's the mascot. You can't help but laugh with him or at him. We went there on a friends recommendation. We started with the Portuguese calamari-I wiped the plate clean with the bread that came with the meal. My son had the salmon with coconut rice-he raved about it. My husband and daughter shared the lobster Mac and cheese. The both loved it. It had huge pieces of lobster there was so much we took some home. I had the crab cake and mashed potatoes-yum! The outside patio and bar are very elegant. When we first got there we thought oh boy is this place to fancy for us? Absolutely not ! they were so welcoming! The waitress was outstanding and to our surprise there was live music! The only reason this place didn't get one star is because the food was good but the service was horrible from the call to reserve to the end of the night. It was my soon to be mother in laws birthday I called in to reserve a table for 7 people at 6:00 they said they didn't have anything after 5:30. I told the hostess this was for a birthday and I would call back make sure that time worked for everyone. It did I called back made the reservation told her again it was for a birthday. Go in tonight wait by the host stand, one hostess looks at me walks away the other says o ok one second walks away. I then repeat myself that I was here for my reservation to the gentlemen he lead us to our table. I told them we only had 6 now and a child wouldn't need two chairs and one place setting. You would think it was rocket science for them to understand to take two chairs away and a place setting and bring a highchair. We ordered drinks 10 mins goes by drinks come order two appetizers 15 mins go by we order 20 mins goes by get our salad and soup. I know these times dont seem like much but when you have a 1.5 year old you should be attended to quickly. Food was good but as I ate our waiter was working the whole room and afew big parties it was horribly managed! Once we get to dessert we order and as I wait for them to come sing or put a candle in my mother in laws dessert they sing to these two elderly people next to us for their anniversary and then bring us our dessert and walk away. Do you know how infuriating it is to see a table of 2 get more attention then a table of 7 with a child!! And to add there was an awful smell of some elderly man who must have urinated himself the whole dinner. I was going to consider this place for my rehearsal dinner for my wedding but I wouldn't now and will be sure to tell everyone I know to stay clear of this place! After finishing my review I have changed the star from 2 to 1. Please hire people who are more confident in their jobs and do it correctly. I shouldn't have to tell your hostess three times this was a birthday dinner and no notes are put in the system. And we were there for 3 hours! And for the elderly people who scowl at our table because a kid is screaming please take the stick of of your asses! Might not be screaming if the food didn't take so long! read more

We frequent the Coachmen's Lodge quite often and have been doing so for years. Normally, it is one of my favorite local places to dine. However the past couple of times have been different. Kitchen service was very slow this past Saturday evening and 2 of the 4 meals we ordered were sub-par. Steak tips very over cooked and when we told the waitress, she said she would replace the tips with some that were cooked as we ordered them ( medium rare). She returned 5 minutes later asking if we "really wanted new steak tips". So we kept the overcooked meal as it seemed as if we were " inconveniencing" her to actually receive what we ordered. Not a horrible experience overall but certainly not the same quality of food and service we had received in the past. There are too many restaurants at this price point to check out. I think I will give the Coachmen a break for a little while. read more

We were fortunate to all be together coming from Florida and California to be with our Mom and this is why we chose Coachman's. The food was lukewarm, dry and over cooked . We chose Coachmen's to celebrate a 50th birthday both because of location and because most of us had visited once before. We are incredibly happy with our choice. They set up for our large group in a great area and were very accommodating when we had two additional unexpected people join us. Our waitress was wonderful and made some great suggestions for appetizers for the table. We just visited the Coachmen for the 2nd time in a couple weeks because we enjoyed it so much the first time and wanted to come back for a special occasion. The night began with a lousy seat near the kitchen. We asked to move & the hostess would not even look to move us. We understood & stayed at the table. It was a busy night and our server was running around. She was very friendly but everything took forever. My husband's beer glass had a giant crack in it. It took one hour between the app & our meals. We could see how busy the kitchen was (because we were literally sitting in it), but never once did the manager come over & apologize or check in with us. The young girl who delivered our food (not our server) was as rude as rude could be, she gave a half heated apology & when we commented we wait an hour she dropped the final plate on the table. The food isn't that good to deal with it. There are other great restaurants in the area & we will not be visiting this again. read more
