**** FIRST TIMERS/ANYONE WANTING TO EAT HERE, MAKE A RESERVATION ***** This place was AMAZING! The table side cafecito and Abuela hot chocolate???? WITH THE CONCHAS????? and just when I thought things couldn't have gotten any better, THE FOOD! Bursting with flavor. The staff overall was very nice and the ambiance was just perfect. It's a little pricey to me but the with the serving sizes you just can't complain.

me and my family came here as a group of six and without making a reservation the wait would've been three hours, which is absurd. Luckily we made a reservation beforehand and we got in, but we still had to wait 20 minutes even though we were there early. To be honest, the food wasn't even that good. It's such whitewashed food. The only good thing about this restaurant are the interior views and the churros. Other than that, the food here is so overpriced for nothing. also, every 90 seconds a plane is passing by so it's kind of annoying when you're trying to talk. I'd rather go somewhere else in San Diego and eat authentic Mexican food. If you're just there for the Instagram worthy pictures, it's fine but the food is not good at all. Your almost paying $30 for a plate and it's trash. we ended up paying over $400 for our brunch as a group of six. we're never coming back here ever again because the food wasn't good and the prices were absurd. if you're thinking in trying some authentic Mexican food, don't get it here. additionally, we got seated outside and the tables are so close together you can't even walk. Everything is just so smushed together. and a girl kept passing by offering us some guacamole that was $20.!! Yes it was huge but $20 for some avocados and chips? if you're just coming here for the aesthetics, it's great, It's beautiful... but the food it's whitewashed Mexican food disgusting not authentic at all.

Fantastic service, good, drinks, and just a stunning location! Definitely make a reservation ahead of time if you can as the walk-in line gets very long quickly. As soon as we were seated, our drink orders and then our food orders were taken. Our server was so attentive and kind! He even helped take some photos of my friends and I. Definitely the extra mile! Our drinks and food came out quickly after ordering each time too. Our server checked on us throughout the experience too. I started out with their nonalcoholic spritz in their fun owl cups. Absolutely delicious! I was honestly amazed at how much I enjoyed it. Very refreshing. I also had the custom chilaquiles with salsa rojo, scrambled eggs, and Al pastor. The portion was ginormous, so I did end up taking half home, but it was so worth it. So delectable! Their al pastor was the best part. Loved the sweetness from the pineapple in their marinade. Honestly everything on their menu looks delicious.

Obsessed is honestly an understatement! We first discovered Cocina 35 in 2024 after seeing a TikTok video about it, and we've been coming back ever since. What started as a place we wanted to try has quickly become one of our favorite restaurants in San Diego. We love it so much that whenever friends or family visit from out of town, it's one of the first places we take them. We've even introduced plenty of San Diego locals who somehow had never been before and every single person has loved it. One thing we really appreciate is the outdoor seating area. We have two kids under 3, and we usually dine with a group of 5-8 people, so having a spacious outdoor area makes a huge difference. They also have a kids' menu, and our 3-year-old always enjoys having multiple options to choose from. The only minor downside is the occasional plane flying overhead, but honestly, it's not a deal breaker and has never taken away from the experience. If anything, the popularity of this place speaks for itself. Make a reservation if you can! Walk-in wait times can easily reach an hour or more, especially on weekends. Finding truly authentic Mexican food can be difficult, but Cocina 35 does an incredible job. The menu has expanded since we first started coming here, and somehow it just keeps getting better. Every dish we've ordered has come out hot, fresh, and full of flavor. Their chilaquiles are what initially brought us in, but we've continued exploring the menu and have yet to be disappointed. The customer service is another reason we keep returning. Every visit we've had a different server, and each one has been friendly, attentive, and genuinely happy to be there. Great food paired with great service is a winning combination. And for anyone with a sweet tooth like me, you're in luck! From their food specials to their drink options, there are plenty of delicious sweet treats to choose from. It's one of those places where you leave already talking about what you're going to order on your next visit. Cocina 35 has become a tradition for our family, and it's a place we continue recommending to everyone we know. If you're visiting San Diego or you're a local who somehow hasn't made it here yet, put it on your list!

Food was amazing and the amount you get is pretty fair, you won't be disappointed with what you select tbh. Pair that with great service and the environment especially when you walk in you get to see a few example plates to see what you are getting yourself into. The cost was a bit on the pricey side but you do get what you pay for. Def a good celebration spot to check out.

Such a GOOD brunch spot in sd that hits all of the marks!! My family had a reservation on a Sunday afternoon. Plenty of street parking! We were seated after 15 minutes and the shop is so cute, well decorated and clean! It's a loud and bustling environment. I ordered the chilaquiles with chorizo and the mild chipotle sauce. I also got the horchata cocktail and it was really good! Not super strong though, good for a brunch. It wasn't spicy and I was scared the chorizo would be too salty but it wasn't! Very fresh chilaquiles. Their servings are HUGEEE - plenty of leftovers came home with me! Service was great, they kept checking on us and were super professional. I'd visit again!

First time visiting. I made a reservation just in case. I'm glad I did because it was busy (Thursday at 10 am). There was a line of about 20 people when we left around 11:10 am. I ordered the Cajeta Toast (french toast with caramel drizzle, berries, and powdered sugar paired with eggs and bacon). It was good overall. I got scrambled eggs, and they were the steamed liquid eggs which aren't my top choice. The bacon was meh. If I had to guess, it was that bacon that comes precooked or something on that quality level. Service was fine - straight forward. We were a party of three, and I did ask if they could split the check. Apparently, they can only split it two ways max so we just decided to just venmo our friend who paid with her card. The ambiance was super cute. The large tree inside was so pretty. There was a mix of cute booths and regular tables inside. There was outside seating as well that looked like a nice option if you want less reverberating noises (besides the planes that fly over Liberty Station). Overall, I had a good time. I would def come back and recommend to a friend. PS: They give out mini spoons with a scoop of cajeta with the check. Very nice touch!

Huge portions with amazing taste for a pretty good price. The service was phenomenal, and the restaurant was so aesthetically pleasing. I came for a friend's birthday, the dessert was absolutely delish and the small celebration was very loud and fun (thank you to the people dining who sang and clapped along!) We will definitely be coming back here!

I came to celebrate my birthday with my family and Cocina 35 gave me a wonderful experience. We had a reservation, we were seated immediately. It was Easter weekend so the restaurant was packed. But it had beautiful music playing, lots of people, and happy vibes. Everything on the menu looked delicious, it's hard to choose what you want. I do recommend you get there early, the parking lot is located next to a park along with other restaurants so it does get full. Our server Isabelle got water to our table and gave us great recommendations on the menu, and showed us from the front window what was popular on their menu. -we had the flight of margaritas -El Patron (chilaquiles with French toast 10/10) - The lotería burrito was well portioned and the salsa had so much flavor -El Tochomorocho my sister had a delicious sweet corn tamale that balanced the spiciness of the chilaquiles -for dessert: I was treated with a concha, cheesecake and churro plate to share with my family The cocha was 10/10! Heater on the stovetop and I think they put cajeta (goat milk caramel) tasted so different! When Isabelle brought out my dessert plate she rang a bell and had them sing happy birthday. PLUS! it's not Mexican if they are not chanting "Que le muerda! Que le muerda! (Bite it! Bite it!) Thank you so much Isabelle! You are wonderful, and I will never forget my experience. Thank you for making it special.

Food : Delicious chilaquiles! Mazapan iced latte , sweetened with the piloncillo syrup. Order the 3 x tacos de papa dorados and chilaquiles rancheros . The plates are huge you can share a meal. They have vegan options. Ambiance: Lovely! Outdoor & Indoor seating. Downside the tables for 2 - people are too close to each other, literally arms length so be warned. Service: 10/10 customer service! The hosts were very welcoming and helpful. The servers were quick and attentive. Servers came by often to make sure we were good. Had to take a walk around the park, the stomach was satisfied . The restrooms are clean & tidy. There is even mouthwash available for use.

    * Great for brunch * Great food * Casual ambiance Such a great Brunch spot/chilaquiles spot! Wait times at this location can be long, so plan ahead. Note: your entire party must be present before being seated. Portions are huge and definitely shareable. The food is flavorful and satisfying. One thing I really loved if you're celebrating a birthday, the staff comes out to sing and celebrate with you, which is super sweet and makes your day extra special . This location can get busy depending on the day and time, but they do offer a variety of alcoholic beverages, which makes it even more fun. Just a heads-up: not all locations serve alcohol. We tried the Piñata drink, the margarita flight, and the celebration flight all fun options. Highly recommend the chilaquiles divorciados since you get to choose different sauces perfect if you love variety or want to try more than one flavor. The enfrijoladas are also really good. The coffee flight is awesome if you like sampling different coffees, and you can never go wrong with their house coffee. If you prefer cold coffee, the mazapán coffee is a must-try. This location is great for brunch with the ladies definitely a must-visit!

Beware there's only street parking, no valet service (unless you're a hotel guest), so that can present a challenge. Reservations a MUST on weekends, especially with a group. Now for the food reviews. Everything we ordered was delicious from the squash blossom and smashed tuna tartare appetizers to the El Festin platter (made for groups) . Since the main dining area is kept dark for the dramatic gothic effect, it's tricky to rely on your sense of sight for the presentation of each of the dish. The highlight for me was the chili garlic shrimp tacos. So full of flavor! The only drawback is that many of their dishes are made with nuts. So if you have a nut allergy, which one of us in our group did, the menu was limiting. Overall, it's an incredible place for first timers and out-of- towners. I might return for a special celebration, but not repeatedly. Once is good enough experience, especially with so many other special dining options in our fine city.

This restaurant came highly recommended by major Visit San Diego websites, and we felt we should give it a try. Located right next to the water, the restaurant offers expansive view of the harbor and the San Diego skyline. Sitting is about 50/50 indoor vs. outdoor, and we chose the indoor sitting as it tended to get colder in the evening. Parking is available out front, but we took Lyft there. We came in around Happy Hour, and we were able to score two appetizers for $11 each. We got fried calamari and fish cervice as appetizers. For entree, we had the fish tacos and scallops. Both of the appetizers were excellent, and the cervice was so light and flavorful. My husband loved his scallop entree, and the taste and presentation were original and outstanding. My fish taco was enjoyable as well. For dessert, we had fresh churro that was paired with ice cream, which was excellent as well. Our meal came to $143 with taxes, which was a very good value with the quality and services offered. Our waiter was attentive and friendly, which made us felt right at home. As for the ambiance, it felt modern and relaxed. There were diverse customers from locals, tourists, and business people. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience and we will return.
