Cocina 35 is such a cute brunch spot in Liberty Station. We visited on a weekday, which made parking easy, and enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. The food was pretty good, but the drinks were the highlight of our visit. We only ordered a few items and didn't stay long, as we were mainly there for drinks that morning. I'd recommend Cocina 35 to anyone looking for a casual brunch with good drinks, especially friends, couples, or anyone who wants an easygoing weekday outing with convenient parking.

Key Points: - delicious Mexican-inspired brunch - warm, vibrant decor - lots of unexpected add-on/up-charges The Fam and I along with our close friends and their family ate at Cocina 35 for Sunday Brunch on our trip down to San Diego. It's definitely a popular spot. There was a line out the door, and we ended up waiting more than an hour to get in. This is their location at Liberty Station and there was a preexisting art festival of some sort going on, which might have added to the wait. But I bet they'd be busy regardless. Upon entering we noticed the colorful, vibrant decor. The Mrs. And her BFF couldn't help but to comment on "how cute!" Everything was. We got the seat next to the pink blossom indoor tree, seemingly the decorative centerpiece the dining room. The food was a wonderful variety of Mexican-inspired brunch, with different varieties of chilaquiles, while still having classics like pancakes. Anyone who knows me knows i absolutely must have pancakes during brunch. Here's what we ordered: - Agua Fresca flight: 4 distinctive flavors to try. The kids especially liked the horchata. - Omelette de la Casa: I chose carne asada. Excellent savory option. Pink pickled onions made the pictures look good while the carne asada was succulent! - Sampler de Mi Abuela: this was probably one of my favorites. Warm and fluffy pancakes with a Mexican twist on flavors including mazapan galleta Marias (first time discovering these cookies), and churro. * Kids Mini Toast: they have a kids' menu (+1 pt in our book). This was essentially a French toast and eggs that the Little One Enjoyed. She doesn't like runny eggs so i ordered over hard. Not the best for pictures but she loved it. The service was also friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. My only criticism is that there were quite a few unexpected add-on charges that weren't made particularly obvious. Here's what I mean: When we first sat down, a friendly lady wheeled a cart to us loaded with conchas and coffee and asked "would you like some bread for the table?" The way it was presented made all four of the adults think these were complimentary, similar to how a restaurant might offer complimentary bread before a meal. We later learned that these were additional charges. Similarly, she offered us chips and guac "for the whole table to share." Again, we found out these were an additional ~$20. Again, we were fooled because many other restaurants do offer this complimentary. But I must note that we did appreciate her friendly attitude, smile, and work ethic. The same thing happened with the bottled water from our server. We were asked if we wanted "water." Of course we did. She subsequently brought us bottled water at an additional charge but treated it like it was the default. Our friends actually then had the foresight to ask specifically if there was an additional charge for this, after which they found there was, leading to them declining, asking specifically for "tap water" instead. It was a bit frustrating because some of these things we were more than happy to pay for while some we would have passed on, had there been more transparency on what is included/complimentary vs. not. TBH, we all agreed that it as though they were trying to upsell these items to us, essentially pressuring us to buy them. A little more clarity/transparency could have fixed this. However, overall, we enjoyed the food, atmosphere, and service. It was worth the wait in line and I can definitely see why this place is so popular for brunch.

Cocina 35 in Point Loma absolutely lived up to the hype! The highlight for me was the agua fresca flight. The restaurant is incredibly Instagram-worthy, with a bright, colorful atmosphere that makes every corner picture-perfect. A special shoutout to Hector, who made the experience even better. His service went above and beyond--friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming.

Cosina 35 was a great spot for our group! We went with several people, and it was the perfect place to enjoy good food and spend time together. The atmosphere was welcoming, and there was plenty of space for everyone to relax and have a good time. The food was delicious, and everything we ordered came out fresh and full of flavor. The staff was friendly, attentive, and did a great job accommodating our larger party, making sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. The chilaquiles were to die for ! If you're looking for a restaurant that's great for birthdays, celebrations, or just a night out with family and friends, I'd definitely recommend Cosina 35.

This is the second location I've been to! Please make reservations beforehand. The stand by line can get hectic for big groups. You have a better chance of getting in quicker if it's only for 2 persons. It was my friends first time and the hostess demonstrated how the food/drinks are presented. Once inside, it is beautifully decorated and designed. Definitely come dressed here with your girls or with family. The service was amazing! Ana is so sweet and answered all my questions with recommendations. Let me tell you, trust her recommendations! I had the El Antojo and the habanero creamy option to add to the omelette was so delicious! The food is filling but pleasing. I do recommend this restaurant to have fans inside as it does get hot.

**** FIRST TIMERS/ANYONE WANTING TO EAT HERE, MAKE A RESERVATION ***** This place was AMAZING! The table side cafecito and Abuela hot chocolate???? WITH THE CONCHAS????? and just when I thought things couldn't have gotten any better, THE FOOD! Bursting with flavor. The staff overall was very nice and the ambiance was just perfect. It's a little pricey to me but the with the serving sizes you just can't complain.

Fantastic service, good, drinks, and just a stunning location! Definitely make a reservation ahead of time if you can as the walk-in line gets very long quickly. As soon as we were seated, our drink orders and then our food orders were taken. Our server was so attentive and kind! He even helped take some photos of my friends and I. Definitely the extra mile! Our drinks and food came out quickly after ordering each time too. Our server checked on us throughout the experience too. I started out with their nonalcoholic spritz in their fun owl cups. Absolutely delicious! I was honestly amazed at how much I enjoyed it. Very refreshing. I also had the custom chilaquiles with salsa rojo, scrambled eggs, and Al pastor. The portion was ginormous, so I did end up taking half home, but it was so worth it. So delectable! Their al pastor was the best part. Loved the sweetness from the pineapple in their marinade. Honestly everything on their menu looks delicious.

Obsessed is honestly an understatement! We first discovered Cocina 35 in 2024 after seeing a TikTok video about it, and we've been coming back ever since. What started as a place we wanted to try has quickly become one of our favorite restaurants in San Diego. We love it so much that whenever friends or family visit from out of town, it's one of the first places we take them. We've even introduced plenty of San Diego locals who somehow had never been before and every single person has loved it. One thing we really appreciate is the outdoor seating area. We have two kids under 3, and we usually dine with a group of 5-8 people, so having a spacious outdoor area makes a huge difference. They also have a kids' menu, and our 3-year-old always enjoys having multiple options to choose from. The only minor downside is the occasional plane flying overhead, but honestly, it's not a deal breaker and has never taken away from the experience. If anything, the popularity of this place speaks for itself. Make a reservation if you can! Walk-in wait times can easily reach an hour or more, especially on weekends. Finding truly authentic Mexican food can be difficult, but Cocina 35 does an incredible job. The menu has expanded since we first started coming here, and somehow it just keeps getting better. Every dish we've ordered has come out hot, fresh, and full of flavor. Their chilaquiles are what initially brought us in, but we've continued exploring the menu and have yet to be disappointed. The customer service is another reason we keep returning. Every visit we've had a different server, and each one has been friendly, attentive, and genuinely happy to be there. Great food paired with great service is a winning combination. And for anyone with a sweet tooth like me, you're in luck! From their food specials to their drink options, there are plenty of delicious sweet treats to choose from. It's one of those places where you leave already talking about what you're going to order on your next visit. Cocina 35 has become a tradition for our family, and it's a place we continue recommending to everyone we know. If you're visiting San Diego or you're a local who somehow hasn't made it here yet, put it on your list!

Food was amazing and the amount you get is pretty fair, you won't be disappointed with what you select tbh. Pair that with great service and the environment especially when you walk in you get to see a few example plates to see what you are getting yourself into. The cost was a bit on the pricey side but you do get what you pay for. Def a good celebration spot to check out.

Such a GOOD brunch spot in sd that hits all of the marks!! My family had a reservation on a Sunday afternoon. Plenty of street parking! We were seated after 15 minutes and the shop is so cute, well decorated and clean! It's a loud and bustling environment. I ordered the chilaquiles with chorizo and the mild chipotle sauce. I also got the horchata cocktail and it was really good! Not super strong though, good for a brunch. It wasn't spicy and I was scared the chorizo would be too salty but it wasn't! Very fresh chilaquiles. Their servings are HUGEEE - plenty of leftovers came home with me! Service was great, they kept checking on us and were super professional. I'd visit again!

First time visiting. I made a reservation just in case. I'm glad I did because it was busy (Thursday at 10 am). There was a line of about 20 people when we left around 11:10 am. I ordered the Cajeta Toast (french toast with caramel drizzle, berries, and powdered sugar paired with eggs and bacon). It was good overall. I got scrambled eggs, and they were the steamed liquid eggs which aren't my top choice. The bacon was meh. If I had to guess, it was that bacon that comes precooked or something on that quality level. Service was fine - straight forward. We were a party of three, and I did ask if they could split the check. Apparently, they can only split it two ways max so we just decided to just venmo our friend who paid with her card. The ambiance was super cute. The large tree inside was so pretty. There was a mix of cute booths and regular tables inside. There was outside seating as well that looked like a nice option if you want less reverberating noises (besides the planes that fly over Liberty Station). Overall, I had a good time. I would def come back and recommend to a friend. PS: They give out mini spoons with a scoop of cajeta with the check. Very nice touch!

I came to celebrate my birthday with my family and Cocina 35 gave me a wonderful experience. We had a reservation, we were seated immediately. It was Easter weekend so the restaurant was packed. But it had beautiful music playing, lots of people, and happy vibes. Everything on the menu looked delicious, it's hard to choose what you want. I do recommend you get there early, the parking lot is located next to a park along with other restaurants so it does get full. Our server Isabelle got water to our table and gave us great recommendations on the menu, and showed us from the front window what was popular on their menu. -we had the flight of margaritas -El Patron (chilaquiles with French toast 10/10) - The lotería burrito was well portioned and the salsa had so much flavor -El Tochomorocho my sister had a delicious sweet corn tamale that balanced the spiciness of the chilaquiles -for dessert: I was treated with a concha, cheesecake and churro plate to share with my family The cocha was 10/10! Heater on the stovetop and I think they put cajeta (goat milk caramel) tasted so different! When Isabelle brought out my dessert plate she rang a bell and had them sing happy birthday. PLUS! it's not Mexican if they are not chanting "Que le muerda! Que le muerda! (Bite it! Bite it!) Thank you so much Isabelle! You are wonderful, and I will never forget my experience. Thank you for making it special.

Food : Delicious chilaquiles! Mazapan iced latte , sweetened with the piloncillo syrup. Order the 3 x tacos de papa dorados and chilaquiles rancheros . The plates are huge you can share a meal. They have vegan options. Ambiance: Lovely! Outdoor & Indoor seating. Downside the tables for 2 - people are too close to each other, literally arms length so be warned. Service: 10/10 customer service! The hosts were very welcoming and helpful. The servers were quick and attentive. Servers came by often to make sure we were good. Had to take a walk around the park, the stomach was satisfied . The restrooms are clean & tidy. There is even mouthwash available for use.
