I was so excited to find Snooze in San Diego. This used to be my go to breakfast spot in Denver nearly 20 years ago. Getting to come back here with my kiddos and seeing them love it just as much as I did made it even better. Service was attentive and pretty quick, especially for a busy Saturday morning. The food was delicious and honestly not overpriced compared to most breakfast spots around here. Definitely looking forward to coming back and trying more things on the menu. Originally I was supposed to visit San Diego for my 30th birthday, but Covid hit two months prior and my trip got indefinitely postponed. Nearly six years later, I finally made my way across the country for a long weekend. Snooze remained on my bookmarks list in the interim. I knew it was one spot I absolutely didn't want to miss. It took until the last day of our trip to actually stop in. I put our name on the waitlist and by the time our Lyft took us from Little Italy to the restaurant, our table was ready. I ordered the French toast latte to start, which was delightful. Also a cranberry juice. For my meal, I went with the pancake flight. I selected pineapple upside down, strawberry shortcake, and the March flavor of the month (blueberry danish) as my pancakes. They were all quite tasty, but I had to have my boyfriend finish my plate as I was so full! Service was friendly and prompt. We had a large (and loooud, they ordered tequila shots) party next to us that he was also attending to, plus a full house, but we didn't feel like that impacted service. Sweet and savory is my kind of breakfast, so I ordered the pancake flight. You can customize your choices, so I went with strawberry, sweet potato, and banana vegan. Unfortunately, the pancakes were a little underwhelming. They weren't bad, just nothing special. Out of the three, the sweet potato was definitely the best. This place is ALWAYS a hit! PARKING They're on a one way street so if you aren't lucky to get street parking, there's multiple parking garages on that street and across the street. It was $4 for an hour on a Sunday afternoon, not bad at all. FOOD We always share the pancake flight. This time, they had the seasonal blueberry danish pancake so we got that with the sweet roll pancake and the OMG French toast. It's a nice sweet dish but definitely share it because it's rich in flavor I usually get one of the Benedict's (which are all incredible) but today, I got the Protein & Egg White Scramble. I substituted the chicken sausage for tofu and you guys, it was AMAZING! Some of the best tofu scramble. I learned they also offer a tofu only scramble so I might have to get that next time. The veggies were perfectly crunchy and the sriracha sauce was good too. My husband got the Protein BLT bowl and really liked it as well. DRINKS The matcha with almond milk is my go-to drink and my only complaint is that they serve it in a small cup. I had to get a second cup because I inhaled the first cup. CLEANLINESS & VIBES Their team is always moving around, keeping areas cleaned, helping each other and getting shit done and it shows. If you can get on the wait list, that helps because this place does get busy. We came in on a Sunday afternoon at 1pm and there was no wait! We don't get the rewards points but I'll have to start doing that next time. I heard the table next to us get an item discounted because of their reward points. We finally had a chance to try the famous Snooze after hearing about it so long and we weren't disappointed. This is a very popular brunch spot and for good reason. The service here is nice and the ambiance is fun. For food I tried the breakfast burrito with the habanero pork belly and this was very yummy drenched in the green sauce. We also tried the pancake flight with the upside down pineapple, strawberries and cream & cinnamon roll flavor. This was delicious and each pancake was yummy! Cute place for brunch! I loved how the environment was indoor/outdoor, perfect for the spring and summer seasons. My bf and I visited for the first time, and when my food came out there were some mishaps. My bf is a burrito connoisseur so no issues there with his order. I ordered the Protein Trio Omelette which came with hash browns and toast. The toast should've been labeled charcoal because it was so burnt. Not even butter could save it. Then, the hash browns became chips because they were so crispy. It was like they cooked the potato out of the hash browns. I personally have had a very good experience at this location. For one they are open until 4 pm which is fantastic for me because it takes me forever to get my day going on the weekend and many breakfast places are closed by the time I am ready to eat. Their pancakes are hands down the best pancakes in San Diego. They are light and fluffy and just insanely flavorful. Important note they can make EVERY pancake gluten free!! I mean...that's pretty impressive. I've tried both the strawberry shortcake and the cinnamon one (which is seasonal) gluten free and it was so good you would not know it was gluten free at all (usually gluten free is not so good). They have a few high protein breakfast options and I also really love that. Staff is very nice! I just really like this place a lot. I don't know what it's like here when it's busy but when it's not it's super fast service. read more

I visit Snooze every time I'm in San Diego, it's one of my favorite breakfast spots. Everything on the menu is consistently delicious, and this visit was no exception. I tried the Neat French Toast and the Avocado Toast, and both were perfect. Today is national pancake day! I got a text for a free pancake with any entrée and of course I just happened to be having a doctors appointment on the same day which is right across the street. How convenient is that! I seriously don't go out to eat anymore, but this place is such a happy place with amazing food and the best vibe and team members ever. Not to mention the customers! Today I had Luis for my wait person and he was wonderful and then I visited with Daniel who is a regular longtime team member here and then I had fun visiting with the customer sitting next to me. I haven't even mentioned the food yet. Now, do you see why I like coming here. This place is the whole package of happy place. So I ordered my healthy choice of the harvest garden omelette, which has this incredible cream cheese, chive sauce on top of many vegetables in the omelette and a delicious pepitas spinach Salad with cherry tomatoes. I managed to eat about half of that and then I had about a third of the strawberry shortcake, pancake with mascarpone on top and an Incredibles sauce. Absolutely some of the best pancakes I've ever had in my life - specifically the strawberry shortcake pancakes. I add extra streusel, extra strawberry marscapone and extra vanilla cream just to spice it up even more but they are heavenly. Service is prompt and easy, with friendly service. I DoorDash it more then go in for convenience in the morning but the ambiance when I did go in is fun, but busy. It definitely has a good vibe! 10/10 (we've also tried some other things. hash browns are unique and pretty good, eggs come standard but cooked exactly specific to how you want them with lots of options, and the rye toast is fresh along with the fruit) I've tried the cinnamon roll pancakes as well on a flight, and the candied pecans and cinnamon butter are addicting, but my go to will always be the strawberry shortcake ones! read more

Another year another snooze review! I have been a snooze lover for so long I remember going with my friends as a brunch treat when I was out of high school and it is still one of my favorites. I am a sucker for the sandwich I am there. Who doesn't love a pretzel bun and it comes with a side of hollandaise. I also like to switch the sausage patty out for a chorizo patty to add some spice. The staff at all snooze locations are awesome but the one in Hillcrest the staff have so much energy and make dinning there feel like a full experience. I love hash browns but if you like them crispy know that you can ask for them that way compared to the way they normally serve them. But service was not good... food took a little long to come out which is fine it was busy but our original server didn't even come back around for refills or anything after placing the order and when trying to leave too it took forever just to get the check even asking multiple times. I can't believe I haven't written a review for Snooze before. It's one of my very favorite places to go for brunch. We always have the friendliest of servers here, in this cheery spot. The food is universally delicious and their rewards program is the. best. Today we had a free pancake flight! The pancakes were so wonderful. I also had a seasonal drink - a Caramel Hot Cocoa. Go look at my pic - it tasted as good as it looked - soooooooo much yum. My mom had one of my favorite dishes today - the Habanero Pork Belly Breakfast Fried Rice, which is really great. I had a Golden Harvest Omelette and it was FILLED with vegetables and came with a gorgeous and delicious spinach salad. Snooze is just the cutest place, with cheery vibes and cool decor. Snooze is one of those breakfast spots that absolutely lives up to the hype. The bennys are delightful, perfectly balanced, flavorful, and made with care. Their pancakes are consistently good! The rotating monthly flavors for both pancakes and french toast keep things fun and give you a reason to come back again and again. Shoutout to Rowan, who was an amazing server to our table. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely made the experience better and gave some good recommendations. Service overall was fast, especially impressive given how busy this place gets. The ambiance is upbeat and comfortable. Lively but not chaotic (has indoor music and WiFi) and it feels like a great place to actually enjoy your meal rather than rush through it. Fair warning: parking in the Hillcrest area is a little difficult, and Snooze does get busy, especially on holidays. That said, it's absolutely worth the effort and the wait. I had a truly wonderful experience at Snooze AM and want to thank the incredible staff who went above and beyond to ensure my safety, comfort, and enjoyment. Haley was kind and thoughtful in helping me find a seat that allowed me to feel safer. Daniel was so kind to come out and say hello and even brought water and coffee, even though that isn't Daniel's role, which I deeply appreciated. Rico was respectful and considerate, keeping appropriate distance and asking for consent before petting my dog. Rico also took great care in taking my order, making sure nothing included allergens, and helped me create a delicious burrito. Angie was incredibly kind and came outside to personally inform me of important food safety concerns related to my allergies, which meant the world to me. Yasmin was also so thoughtful in bringing me a to-go container. Everyone ensured my safety and made it possible for me to eat and be seated comfortably without having to go indoors, allowing me to feel genuinely safe. I was able to sit at a single table in the shade with plenty of space for my dog, without feeling that maskless indoor dining was putting my health or life at risk. The food was outstanding--an extremely delicious, piping-hot burrito, generously stuffed and perfectly wrapped, with the crispiest hash browns, the freshest eggs, and the most delicious corned beef hash. The coffee was phenomenal: deeply rich, flavorful, and stayed warm the entire time in the cutest yellow mugs. We go here to breakfast with our kids every time we visit San Diego because we love it!! The food is excellent for kids and adults alike. Note for fellow vegan and vegetarians: They took the tofu scramble off the menu for some reason but they can still make it. I had mine made with mushrooms, onions, and peppers. So delicious. This is a pretty popular brunch spot/chain, so expect a wait if you come during peak brunch hours. Parking in Hillcrest can be tough, but I was able to grab a metered street spot not too far away. For food, we tried a few different items. The OMG! French Toast was indulgent, sweet (but not overly) and rich. The Habanero Pork Belly Benny was also good, sweet and savory. On the flip side, the Habanero Pork Belly Breakfast Fried Rice was underwhelming; the portion was very small, and the rice itself tasted hard and undercooked, so I'd skip that one. My friend ordered their seasonal pumpkin pecan pancakes but I didn't get to try that one. We also ordered their seasonal pumpkin coffee, which was festive and sweet, but a little too light on the caffeine for my taste. I recently as of all of last week was in Hillcrest, and Snooze, really hit the spot for our go to for breakfast or brunch. I ordered different things each time I visited..(4 times) and the staff really make you feel right at home, every time you visit. Mucho thanks to everyone! Nick, started us off on a Sunday afternoon when my friend, Terry, flew in from Miami, FL, and wanted a light bite and a Tito's Vodka gimlet..made with freshly squeezed lime juice, only. I am crazy for French Toast, along with some tequila..I opted for a Margarita and it was a powerpunch combination as on the way out I played the outdoor beanbag game and I managed to get 4 out of 12 maybe 16 throws in but who's really counting. Throughout the week, Jessie, served us twice and the experience was what my Mother, would say, "Joyful!" As in praise the Lord! It was a great week in San Diego, full of a lot of good times and Snooze, got me up and going each day, expecting All good things to follow.
