Always a nice atmosphere here mellow evening meal, their Chicken pot pie special is the bomb...

Jasmine G.

Would I go back? ABSOLUTELY!! "Peach bread" lightly sweet & salty. Highly recommended. Chicken, spinach and fries, very yummy. You have the option of mashed potatoes or salad too! Chicken and bacon sandwich, light but, filling. Lemonade a little too sweet, maybe too much concentrate but, that's my opinion. Empty seating. I asked the owner, he said he bought it 9 months ago before the previous owner had the kitchen for 25+ years. I believe the pricing is reasonable. Plenty of seating available inside and outside. Since it was not too many people I had time to talk to owner and he's very genuine. Now, I only went for lunch but, I'd look forward in trying their breakfast menu. I'm a sucker for mom and pop looking shops.

Cozy, unassuming little restaurant within walking distance from CHLA/Kaiser Sunset, near the corner of Fountain Ave. We were greeted by the host/server as soon as we walked in and were promptly seated. We started with the peaches, ricotta, and pesto bruschetta, which was an interesting twist but both adults and kiddos (5 & 6 year olds) thought they were tasty. My main was their Famous Kitchen's Fried Chicken which I thought was perfectly breaded, seasoned, and cooked. It was crisp and juicy and the accompanying gravy, mashed potatoes, and succotash were perfect. If you aren't sure what to get I would definitely choose the chicken. The warm walnut bread pudding with ice cream for dessert was also really good as the warm and cold together was nice for a "cool Los Angeles night". Really enjoyed this place and I liked that the menu was simple. Good food with prompt, warm service makes for a satisfied yelper. May need to come and check out the brunch vibes...

Breakfast burrito! The green salsa was sooo good!

Cocina Vino is truly a gem in Silver Lake! The interior is beautiful, and it reminded me a bit of Mexico. This space actually used to be a local favorite called The Kitchen, right next door to Akbar. When that closed, one of their employees reopened this space as Cocina Vino and still has some local favorite dishes from the previous place. I passed by this spot a few times and I'm glad I stopped by with such an awesome story! Plus, the food was also delicious!!! For dinner - the pesto bruschetta with peaches was amazing!! The bread was so soft and it was so flavorful. I also really liked the chimichurri steak! For brunch - The French toast is unbelievable! So soft and delicious. Breakfast burrito is also good. They have good items at a good price too. Definitely recommend!! Oh and they have a parking lot!!

Pesto Bruschetta with Peaches & Ricotta

Exceptional Food & Atmosphere Cocina Vino absolutely blew me away. Every bite felt carefully crafted, and the flavors were next-level. The pan-seared Scottish salmon was perfectly cooked--crispy on the outside, tender and flaky inside, with a sauce that tied everything together beautifully. We also started with the pesto bruschetta topped with peaches and ricotta, and it was such a surprising standout--fresh, creamy, and just the right touch of sweetness. The service was warm and attentive, and the space has a great vibe--elegant without being stuffy. This place is a gem. We'll definitely be back.

Cocina Vino is a hidden gem that needs to be on your brunch radar! I came in for brunch and had the huevos rancheros--and let me tell you, they were next-level delicious. Perfectly cooked eggs, a rich, flavorful ranchero sauce, and everything seasoned to perfection. You can taste the love in every bite! But what really sealed the deal? The service. Even though the place was packed (clearly word is getting out!), the staff was warm, welcoming, and genuinely attentive. They made me feel like I was part of the Cocina Vino family. If you're looking for a place that delivers amazing food and a feel-good vibe, run--don't walk--to Cocina Vino. This spot is a total winner.

Happy enough this lovely new place was purchased by a staffer at the restaurant it was prior, The Kitchen. I'm so happy to see the new owner was part of the old establishment but is making it his own. Work. I was really hoping this new spot was going to be as good as the last place and it's still amazing with some new amazing dishes on the menu. We came here for brunch and it was delicious. Come on by and support a new small POC owned business. The owner is running around happy to serve and great his customers.

Loved this place. They would have my truffle fried cooking and lemonade on the table before I could sit down.

They found us a seat w/o a proper reservation, and the place was lively. Ordered the hummingbird, which was unexpectedly herbaceous. Tangy with smoky undertones. Refreshing. I quite enjoyed it. The husband got the bellhop, which he said was fine but not mind blowing. We ordered the Chicken liver toast, fried mozzarella, and chicken sandwich hot and spicy. The husband got the mussels. Chicken liver toast was served w mustard seed and berry compote, which highlighted the buttery fatness. The toast wasn't crunchy and a bit difficult to cut, but the pickled vegetables were fantastic. The fried mozzarella was simple and decently executed, somewhat generic and forgettable. Better than standard mozzarella sticks. The fries were crisp and perfectly seasoned. A+. That chicken sandwich was toothsome and juicy. Def worthy of a repeat visit. I'll be thinking abt this sandwich for a while. To end the night before we headed off to dinner, we stopped by The Semi- Tropic bar for drinks. The parking situation was difficult to say the least-- there is no street parking or parking lot. And the neighborhood behind the bar is filled with park cars. We were lucky and parked at a parking lot that was for the surrounding business (so sorry to the pizza/ weed shop!). We arrived at around 6:30 PM so it wasn't too busy. We were greeted by one of the servers and she gave us options to either sit at a lounge table area or hightop tables. We opted for the hightop tables because we knew we weren't staying there for long. The server was friendly and patient as we looked over the menu for drinks. I've been sober for about a year so I only had water, my boyfriend ordered a Naoshima Dream, his cousin ordered a Mango Cart, and his cousin's girlfriend ordered a Lemon Drop Martini. The bar was super cute and hipster! I honestly would have loved going to this bar back when I used to drink. It's dimly lit, had a vintage 20's speakeasy feel to it and the music was a vibe. I'd recommend coming here for a little date with your partner or even coming with a group of friends. My boyfriend had been here once before and he said the food was really good and affordable. He had a panini and said for bar food it was a 10/10. We waited maybe like 10 minutes for our drinks to come, we were having such a fun time chatting and enjoying the environment that it didn't feel long at all. My boyfriend, his cousin, and his cousin's girlfriend really enjoyed their drinks. They said the drinks tasted "light" insinuating that there was barely any alcohol in it. Don't let the taste fool you, after finishing half of their drink there were full of smiles, giggles, and had a great buzz going. The prices here were all pretty fair for the cost and quality of the drinks. Would defintely recommend coming here for drinks and dinner for a date night or a night out with friends!

This place has been on my list for a while, and I finally got a chance to visit…read more At first glance, you can't really tell they serve food. It looks like a typical trendy coffee shop, which I'm not mad about, but I feel like you'd only know to come here for lunch if someone told you about it beforehand. I ordered the turkey avocado sandwich. Pro tip: the lunch menu starts at 10:30 a.m. The sandwich didn't look like much at first, but one bite in and I was sold. It has all the basics you'd want in a turkey avocado sandwich, but what really stood out were the generous portions. They definitely don't skimp on the ingredients. The real star, though, was the aged balsamic glaze. Whatever magical concoction they're using, it adds the perfect amount of sweetness and ties everything together. I know some people don't like sweet elements in their sandwiches, but that's their loss and more for me. It was absolutely delicious. The space itself has plenty of seating and is great whether you're looking to get some work done, catch up with a friend, or just enjoy your meal and coffee. My only heads-up is parking. It was a bit of a struggle. I had to circle the block a few times because most of the available spots were 15-minute parking, and the street is busy enough that turning around isn't always easy. Overall, this is definitely a spot I'll be bringing friends to for a casual lunch date. The sandwich alone is worth the visit.
