Located right off of Front Street, Coco Deck is a solid restaurant choice for anyone in the Lahaina area. Parking is not good on Front Street so be prepared to park at The Cannery and walk over just like we did. When entering the restaurant it looks ocean and modern, both the outside and inside fine options to dine at. We sat on the outside as the sun set and it was great. If it is too bright or windy then can lower a screen in front of your table at request. The menu is solid and pricey although not too diverse and the service was pretty good as well. For food we ordered the assassin burger and hot chicken sando. The burger was good, pretty standard stuff., The fries that come along with it are funky fries which are a combo of classic, curly, and sweet potato fries (tastes better than it sounds). The hot chicken sando was a slight letdown. It was not spicy at all and it began to fall apart in hand due to the sauce and how stacked it was. It was still a good sandwich, just a bit off on the execution. Ultimately the food was still pretty good and the view certainly helped. This is a great dinner spot if you don't mind spending some extra money but if you're keeping an eye on that kind of thing then we'd say to pass for now. read more

We had a group of 10 people with 4 young kids, just got off a flight and needed a restaurant fast. We walked in on a Friday during prime dinner time with no reservation. They had a table ready for us in 5 minutes, incredible. The kids LOVED the kid zone they have which is filled with lots of fun things to do. The food and drinks were awesome, and the staff was very warming and friendly. And we happened to catch the sunset which was gorgeous. HIGHLY recommend this spot. read more

I will always cherish & miss all of my Lahaina Town childhood memories. There was a ton of special occasions spent at Warren & Annabelle's Magic. So when I saw Coco Deck Kitchen + Bar Lahaina was hosting a Tuesday night 4 course culinary experience with David Kuraya for a magical evening. I already knew, I had to go. I figured I'd treat my parents to an early Mother's Day outing. Plus this was all of our first time to experience the show plus the restaurant. My mother & I were both excited about the pre-set meal. We both ordered the Mahi. My father on the other hand wasn't impressed with the menu & was set for ordering a steak. But since it wasn't included he settled with a veggie bowl. (For future shows, I'd recommend having an upgrade option to either add or replace a protein. Since even another gentleman at our table mentioned he was craving chicken.) As for the magic show drink menu. I was impressed, the Alba-Cadabra with gin, lavender, lemon & butterfly pea blossom is absolutely delicious. This must try drink is displayed beautifully & is poured at the table. Plus the Shazam Shot is by far the coolest shot I've ever ordered. With pina colada, charcoal, edible glitter & coco foam. This shot was presented like a pristine miniature drink. Not only was so freaking cute but every drop was mouthwatering. Plus I was mesmerized by the glitter, it was simply magical. As for the Cosmic Cosmo, it was missing that magical wow factor to tie into the show. I'd recommend trying a flame or smoke presentation to not only get the person who ordered it jaw to drop. But also everyone who sees it will be asking what is that & I need one. I noticed David Kuraya making his rounds throughout the restaurant. Doing a meet & greet with each of his guests. This I thought was a very cool way to help make this experience memorable. Plus I didn't realize he has a line of coffee too. Which Kuraya coffee beverages should be offered on the menu. ZERO STARS!!!! We wanted to try something different and were excited to try this place after seeing the pictures of their tacos and smash burger. We arrived a little after 2pm. The host sat our party outside and we were given 2 adult menus, 2 kiddie menus and waters. Our "server" (whoever it was supposed to be) never took our order or asked if we were ready to order. Both kids were able to finish their word find, play tic tac toe twice and color their menu. A family got seated behind us and a little while later their server took their order. We thought that maybe she was our server as well, but after she took their order she walked away. Still... No one asked if we ordered or if we were ready to order. We waited for another 5 minutes or so before we decided to leave. As we were walking out, my friend told the host that we were leaving because our server never came around to check in on us. His reply was "Okay... Sorry." Is this how this restaurant treats their guests?! I'd say total wait time was 20+ minutes before we decided to leave. Coco Deck was a fine stop- nothing particularly unforgettable, but a chill, laid-back bar vibe that made for an easy, relaxed meal. We sat on the patio, which was really nice and right across the street from the water, even though it was dark. Service was great the entire time, which is the main reason we're rounding this up to 4 stars. Everyone was friendly, fast, and attentive. Food-wise, everything was good- not amazing, not terrible- just solid. We enjoyed the fish tacos and the fish & chips. The "My Girlfriend Isn't Hungry" add-on was cute and catchy, and the queso tacos were actually pretty good. But the chicken strip in the combo? Sad. Just a basic frozen-and-fried strip that felt like zero effort went into it. I liked the mixed fries concept, but it honestly felt like we got the leftovers- all the tiny, broken pieces at the bottom of the batch. Drinks, however, were good, and pricing felt fair for the area. This restaurant is owned by the same owned of Mala Ocean Tavern across the street, which we almost went to instead. Overall, Coco Deck is a perfectly fine place to grab a casual bite with good service and a great patio. Not the kind of spot you rave about later, but solid enough that we didn't regret stopping by. We were looking for lunch after the Ku'ia Estate chocolate tour and drove down the hill to Coco Deck. We arrived around 1:30 and got to pick our table right away. We selected a table near the front, where I could enjoy the view of the harbor and hubby could watch the big screen. We started with drinks. The water was good, and they give you a bottle to refill yourself. I got a Hawaiian margarita and hubby got a beer. I had been searching for poke nachos the whole trip, so had to start with that. They were ok. Guacamole was good and I always love a good queso, but chips were a little stale and there was nothing special about the poke. Next we got the double smash burger, which is served with funky fries. The burger was solid. But let me just say...BEST FRIES EVER!!! It has four different fries -- regular, curly, seasoned waffle and sweet potato -- cooked perfectly crispy. We honestly can't remember when we've had better fries. In fact, they were so good we decided to add on the loaded fries, which are topped with queso, sauce and grilled onions. They were good but took away the crispness that we loved. We agreed the plain fries were better. Our server was attentive and made sure we got refills when needed. It's a fun place to hang out. In addition to the big screen, there's another TV in the bar. There's also a keiki section for the kids to play pool and other games. For the food I'd give it a 4 but for the whole experience it's a 5. read more

Went in yesterday and enjoyed a bit of happy hour ($5.50 margaritas and $5.50 fish tacos) with our friendly bartender, Gill, taking good care of us. We thoroughly enjoyed the Mahi entree on the menu ($31). The service, food, and atmosphere was excellent, so we decided to head back the next evening. We lucked into having Raica as our server. What a wonderful young woman and awesome server she is. We thoroughly enjoyed our conversations with her. Again, the tacos and the service were amazing. Really incredible food and happy hour! Seriously, take advantage of those taco and drink specials. I had the fish taco, birria and sweet potato tacos. Moment of silence for the birria... Wow! So flavorful, juicy, delicious! The fish taco and sweet potato tacos had unique flavor and were freshly prepared. The escape shot and My tie shots were incredible. You couldn't even taste the alcohol! We also tried these stacked ceviche which was lemony and very fresh. I enjoyed the outdoor patio space and seeing the ocean across the street. They even have a fun game area with foosball, basketball and other games for kids and adults. The only downside of our experience was when we were all done and waiting for the check, we were waiting for a fairly long time. Coco Deck is one of the best restaurants in Lahaina for a local vibe, delicious food, sunset view, and super friendly staff. Heather and Izzy are 2 of the best bartenders! Between the super creative regular menu and secret menu, to the great happy hour deals, to the actual quality of the food. I only wish we had started here instead of ending here. Our first meal here was fish tacos at a different restaurant with Coco in the name. I couldn't even find the fish in them, just cabbage. Not at Coco Deck. The fish was cooked perfect and wasn't overshadowed or hard to find with all the filler ingredients. Add a bit of their hot sauce to take up a notch further. The nachos. I was just expecting standard happy hour nachos. I'm glad I was wrong. Somehow the chef figured out how to make tortilla chips classy and sophisticated. More entrees with your chips please. We sat on the front deck area with a nice view of the ocean and boats in the distance. Our server was awesome and answered any questions we had about the food or in general. I came here with my family and friends for dinner and was not disappointed at all. We ordered fish tacos and double smash burgers, and even the kids plate servings were pretty decently sized! Very friendly staff and chill atmosphere. I liked after dinner I got a moment to sit down on one of the couches and watche the 4 TVs for a little "dad" time break lol. The Coco Crusted Mahi Mahi was full of deliciousness! So many flavors to entertain your palate. Located across the street from Mala restaurant on front street. Nice ambiance especially if you can sit outside with ocean view across the street. The food was good but expensive for what you get. The fish and chips came with only one piece of fish and a few fries. It's the smallest portion of fish and chips dish I've seen. The same goes for the salad with grilled mahi. Came here after visiting baby beach next door. We needed lunch before whale watching and the ceviche called my name. Sandra was our server and she was absolutely amazing! She made sure that my sister, my 4 year old and I all had the best experience here. We sat on the patio and ended up getting a little chili as Maui is currently facing some colder weather than usual. OK, so this was our third stop of the day and we headed here right after we did a little grocery shopping. I looked up happy hour on yelp and found Coco deck. It was super close to Safeway and we wanted a cocktail with a view. When we arrived, it was pretty dead and we sat outside. Happy hour is allowed outside so that was great. The happy hour menu was very limited and after eating a big meal, we just wanted something to munch on. We ordered their mixture of fries, which comes with some grilled onions on top. A little overpriced for just some french fries but I get it, we are in Hawaii. I ordered myself a vodka and pineapple and my partner ordered himself the margarita on the happy hour menu. Both cocktails tasted like juice. I asked my partner if there was any alcohol in these. The service was great. The ambience was fine. People were nice, but I would definitely not come back here for happy hour. As we were not very excited about the food on the happy hour menu we really did not want to return back to order off the regular menu. If you're looking for some french fries and a place that has a view stop on by, but if you're looking for a strong cocktail, I would go somewhere else. read more

This review is about the kindness of the kitchen assassin and his personal hot sauces the Lahaina Boy Hot Sauce. I happen to be having brunch at Mala Tavern early June. I ordered the Fresh Market Fish and asked for hot sauce. The house hot sauce was the classic and mild Lahaina boy hot sauce. The hot sauce is a must try. I purchased both the classic and the mild to take home including an additional classic for my friend. The Classic "Akshen" with Hawaiian Fresno chili's. Just enough heat goes good with any type of food. The mild "Laid Back" with Maui Gold Pineapple and Jalapeno. Good with any food and should be tried by all. The Scrappa with Lahaina Mango Habanero. This one is incredible but "hot". Taste of Mango then the heat hits. I really wanted more and to share with other friends, but the hot sauces are not available online yet. So I contacted them and received a response from the kitchen assassin executive chef Alvin Savella. He offered for me to buy the hot sauce directly from him and he shipped it to my home. I ordered 8 bottles. He is a very kind soul!. Me and my friends are very happy and excited to support Maui local business. If you are in Maui at the Lahaina restaurants CocoDeck or Mala Ocean Tavern I recommend to try the Hot sauces with your meal or buy one to take home. Mahalo read more

Checked out this place today for lunch. We were a little nervous going because we've heard of locals not being OK with tourist in that area, rightfully so. But we wanted to eat so being that we had Aloha MP and Mala's last visit, we wanted a new place. Coco Deck it was! The server, who also sat us, was very nice. I believe her name is Moana. Hubs n I decided to share the fish tacos and the funky fries. Both were very good! Hubs had the Horchata colada, and I had the vodka Fresca. His drink was very yummy and mine was OK, but too much ice so it was pretty watered down, I'd say. Overall a very nice lunch with a very pleasant server, who chatted with us. Amazing Happy Hour experience at Coco Deck! And the most friendly waitress. So glad to help support a new spot in downtown Lahaina. The queso tacos were our absolute favorite. Only $3 each from 3-5:00 and we fought over the beef ones. ;) The fish tacos were stellar too though and come with yummy pickled accompaniments. Great tomatillo salsa also. The cocktails were super yummy too. Hubby enjoyed the tiki drink, and I had the watermelon aqua fresca! Both on point! Kids split the burger and loved it, along with the fun mix of fries.
