Stopped in for a drink with some friends. The restaurant is crowded as usual. We were able to find a bar table and ordered drinks. I tried their Mai Tai because it's the drink of the island. It is delicious, I think it is even better than the other famous mai tai place. They have their own pineapple foam. Parking is challenging in the area so plan accordingly. read more

We really enjoyed this spot, and felt similar to their sister restaurant, Má-la, across the street. It's really good, nice atmosphere and great, friendly service. Got a couple of cocktails, the Coco Bro which is a take on an old Fashioned, and an Alba Cadabra which was a gin-based concoction from their 'Secret Menu.' Both were good, and deceptively spirit driven. I didn't taste the alcohol, but felt it a bit afterward. Food was very good. I got an Oyster Shooter from secret menu, and aguachile was tasty. We HAD to try the Poke Donut which was an overly ambitious offering that just didn't match expectations. It was okay, but I wouldn't get it again. Entrées were a Sweet Potato Tacos with pork and my wife loved it. And I got the Macadamia Crusted Mahi and a side of Coconut Rice. It was a very tasty dish, but it desperately needed the rice because of the watery sauce. With the rice, I very much enjoyed it. I overheard who I am guessing is the owner of the place, chatting at another table about wine, and it sounded like he was extremely adept, so I am thinking it's a good wine list (didn't peruse), and they have local and mainland beers, as well as a few others. Let me tell you about one of my favorite places for happy hour....it was such a great experience we went back the very next day! We tried the southwestern salad, the fish tacos, the queso tacos, the smash burger (made specially by the chef known fondly as the "Kitchen Assassin"). Everything we had was fresh, flavorful, and overall really remarkable. The hosts were friendly and welcoming and the service overall was very quick. The location itself is ideal. It sits right across a small road from the ocean, has a variety of TVs for my fellow sports fans, and even has a keiki corner for the littles equipped with a pool table, basketball and a variety of other things to keep everyone in the family occupied. Honestly, it's very open and inviting overall. Most confident 5 stars I've given in a while. If you go, it's worth making a reservation! Enjoy! LOVE Coco Deck!! If you are a foodie looking to try something adventurous or someone in the mood for an elevated classic dish, this is the spot! We went during happy hour and in my opinion, that's the best because you get more for your money. We got the chips and salsa for our appetizer. The gluten free chips were a little stale in our opinion, but the salsa and guacamole were good. I ordered an escape (clarified piña colada with a coco foam) as my beverage. It was delicious! I love clarified drinks! For my main, I ordered a birria queso taco and a sweet potato taco. Both were amazing and the flavor profiles were lovely! The sweet potato taco had such a unique flavor with the starchiness of the potato but the freshness of the pineapple salsa. It was an elite combo. We always try to support local restaurants, which made this experience especially disappointing. The food was far below expectations. The salad was soggy with wilted lettuce, the nachos were served with stale chips, and the chicken was rubbery. When we mentioned the stale chips, our waitress offered to bring a bag of chips, which completely missed the point. Instead of listening to our concerns, she became defensive and argumentative, making an already disappointing experience even worse. The manager, however, was courteous and took the time to listen to our concerns. We appreciated her professionalism and willingness to address the situation. We truly want to support local businesses and see them succeed, but quality food and respectful customer service are essential. Unfortunately, this visit fell short on both. read more

We stopped by for lunch, after seeing online that they served Birria Ramen here. We found out that they only serve the Ramen after 2p for dinner. So I ordered the Mahi Mahi Tacos with Pineapple Cole Slaw and my wife had the Double Smash burger. The food came out quickly and the Tacos were ample and the Pineapple slaw was exceptional. Located right off of Front Street, Coco Deck is a solid restaurant choice for anyone in the Lahaina area. Parking is not good on Front Street so be prepared to park at The Cannery and walk over just like we did. When entering the restaurant it looks ocean and modern, both the outside and inside fine options to dine at. We sat on the outside as the sun set and it was great. If it is too bright or windy then can lower a screen in front of your table at request. The menu is solid and pricey although not too diverse and the service was pretty good as well. For food we ordered the assassin burger and hot chicken sando. The burger was good, pretty standard stuff., The fries that come along with it are funky fries which are a combo of classic, curly, and sweet potato fries (tastes better than it sounds). The hot chicken sando was a slight letdown. It was not spicy at all and it began to fall apart in hand due to the sauce and how stacked it was. It was still a good sandwich, just a bit off on the execution. Ultimately the food was still pretty good and the view certainly helped. This is a great dinner spot if you don't mind spending some extra money but if you're keeping an eye on that kind of thing then we'd say to pass for now. read more

Fish tacos were falling apart and were a 3 out of 10 being generous. For as expensive as they were, you'd expect a decent fish taco. The ceviche stack was no better. Only Mahi Mahi in it or at least that the taste and just overdone with citrus. The server didnt seem to care about our experience. Oh and to top of it all off, the fish wasnt the freshest cause I found myself on a toilet all night. 6 out of 8 of our party were completely disappointed. The blonde waitress was the rudest person ive experience in a long time. Never going to this place again. Made a reservation for 6. Hostess took us to a table that seats 4. I told her we need more chairs so she said it would be a bit longer which was fine. Ordered two mahi mahi entrees and a kids burger. Food was ok. Kids burger was dry with no sauce provided other than hot sauce. The fish was ok. I was helping feed my son and the waitress comes by and tries to take my plate away. I told her I was still working on it and she put it down and walked away. We asked to order ice cream. Waited about 20-30 mins and she never came back to bring the dessert. Finally we asked her again and she brought it out. We asked for the bill when the ice cream finally came out and again we waited probably another 10 mins before she brought the check. When we were ready to pay, she scanned our card and waited while we selected tip. We said we would pay tip in cash. This rude waitress stood by us waiting for us to hand her the cash tip. WHO DOES THAT!!! This lady was so rude and I would highly recommend finding another place to eat because there are so many better options. I will always cherish & miss all of my Lahaina Town childhood memories. There was a ton of special occasions spent at Warren & Annabelle's Magic. So when I saw Coco Deck Kitchen + Bar Lahaina was hosting a Tuesday night 4 course culinary experience with David Kuraya for a magical evening. I already knew, I had to go. I figured I'd treat my parents to an early Mother's Day outing. Plus this was all of our first time to experience the show plus the restaurant. My mother & I were both excited about the pre-set meal. We both ordered the Mahi. My father on the other hand wasn't impressed with the menu & was set for ordering a steak. But since it wasn't included he settled with a veggie bowl. (For future shows, I'd recommend having an upgrade option to either add or replace a protein. Since even another gentleman at our table mentioned he was craving chicken.) As for the magic show drink menu. I was impressed, the Alba-Cadabra with gin, lavender, lemon & butterfly pea blossom is absolutely delicious. This must try drink is displayed beautifully & is poured at the table. Plus the Shazam Shot is by far the coolest shot I've ever ordered. With pina colada, charcoal, edible glitter & coco foam. This shot was presented like a pristine miniature drink. Not only was so freaking cute but every drop was mouthwatering. Plus I was mesmerized by the glitter, it was simply magical. As for the Cosmic Cosmo, it was missing that magical wow factor to tie into the show. I'd recommend trying a flame or smoke presentation to not only get the person who ordered it jaw to drop. But also everyone who sees it will be asking what is that & I need one. I noticed David Kuraya making his rounds throughout the restaurant. Doing a meet & greet with each of his guests. This I thought was a very cool way to help make this experience memorable. Plus I didn't realize he has a line of coffee too. Which Kuraya coffee beverages should be offered on the menu. Coco Deck was a fine stop- nothing particularly unforgettable, but a chill, laid-back bar vibe that made for an easy, relaxed meal. We sat on the patio, which was really nice and right across the street from the water, even though it was dark. Service was great the entire time, which is the main reason we're rounding this up to 4 stars. Everyone was friendly, fast, and attentive. Food-wise, everything was good- not amazing, not terrible- just solid. We enjoyed the fish tacos and the fish & chips. The "My Girlfriend Isn't Hungry" add-on was cute and catchy, and the queso tacos were actually pretty good. But the chicken strip in the combo? Sad. Just a basic frozen-and-fried strip that felt like zero effort went into it. I liked the mixed fries concept, but it honestly felt like we got the leftovers- all the tiny, broken pieces at the bottom of the batch. Drinks, however, were good, and pricing felt fair for the area. This restaurant is owned by the same owned of Mala Ocean Tavern across the street, which we almost went to instead. Overall, Coco Deck is a perfectly fine place to grab a casual bite with good service and a great patio. Not the kind of spot you rave about later, but solid enough that we didn't regret stopping by. We were looking for lunch after the Ku'ia Estate chocolate tour and drove down the hill to Coco Deck. We arrived around 1:30 and got to pick our table right away. We selected a table near the front, where I could enjoy the view of the harbor and hubby could watch the big screen. We started with drinks. The water was good, and they give you a bottle to refill yourself. I got a Hawaiian margarita and hubby got a beer. I had been searching for poke nachos the whole trip, so had to start with that. They were ok. Guacamole was good and I always love a good queso, but chips were a little stale and there was nothing special about the poke. Next we got the double smash burger, which is served with funky fries. The burger was solid. But let me just say...BEST FRIES EVER!!! It has four different fries -- regular, curly, seasoned waffle and sweet potato -- cooked perfectly crispy. We honestly can't remember when we've had better fries. In fact, they were so good we decided to add on the loaded fries, which are topped with queso, sauce and grilled onions. They were good but took away the crispness that we loved. We agreed the plain fries were better. Our server was attentive and made sure we got refills when needed. It's a fun place to hang out. In addition to the big screen, there's another TV in the bar. There's also a keiki section for the kids to play pool and other games. For the food I'd give it a 4 but for the whole experience it's a 5. read more

I've read all the best food and best fish tacos in Maui reviews They were all WRONG! It's this place!! Between the super creative regular menu and secret menu, to the great happy hour deals, to the actual quality of the food. I only wish we had started here instead of ending here. Our first meal here was fish tacos at a different restaurant with Coco in the name. I couldn't even find the fish in them, just cabbage. Not at Coco Deck. The fish was cooked perfect and wasn't overshadowed or hard to find with all the filler ingredients. Add a bit of their hot sauce to take up a notch further. The nachos. I was just expecting standard happy hour nachos. I'm glad I was wrong. Somehow the chef figured out how to make tortilla chips classy and sophisticated. More entrees with your chips please. We sat on the front deck area with a nice view of the ocean and boats in the distance. Our server was awesome and answered any questions we had about the food or in general.
