    Matcha Mochi Donut ;)
    Ben C.

Coocoo for Coco! Fresh batch every morning. Favorite is the Maple Buttermilk. Mochi when you got the munchies, though it is hard to distinguish between their flavors. Nevertheless nice soft chew. Often sold out, so come early. Never caught her name, but there is a nice employee who is always cheerful everytime we visit. Do-nut want to jinx it by asking for it. Bright personality that is perfect in the mornings! Single storefront parking for a quick pickup always makes it too easy to stop by.

I didn't realize there was a Coco Donuts in this area. I've heard of their Mochi donuts they serve and usually sell out early in the morning. I was able to try a few of them, a lavender Mochi donut, cinnamon ube Mochi donut and a glazed ube Mochi donut. The lavender one had a traditional base, with good lavender flavor. For the ube ones, I was surprised to see that the dough itself was purple. The Mochi donut wasn't too sweet. I really loved the chewiness of the donuts, had a nice texture. Definitely will come back here again for these Mochi donuts

Mmmm..... can't say enough good things about coco... probably because my mouth is still full of donut. It's SOOO0 out of this world. Soft perfect poofy fluffs of dough topped with the most perfect toppings of cinnamon sugar, maple, lavender or whatever your little heart desires . One delectable bite and you'll understand. Oh ...and the unexpected part? The coffee! don't really understand it but out of all the coffee shops we have, for some reason it's my go to. Love it. My only question is, why are you still reading and not eating?

Good place to get some fresh tasty donuts. We were surprised that they still had a good selection left in the afternoon. The employee working there was nice and patient while we figured out what we wanted. I enjoyed their ube mochi donut. It's a must try.

We came near the end of the day try their donuts and thought it was decent. The pricing is very reasonable and the donuts are standard. We got 2 mochi donut - the texture is good but the flavor isn't as pronounced. 3 cake donuts: they were ok, not super crunchy but not soft. A few donut holes: standard., Not heavy but not super light/airy. Overall, a good donut place but nothing spectacular

Delicious donuts. Pretty ambiance. Open space, nice service. Would recommend for sure.

$10 for a dozen close to closing!

4 stars for their normal donuts 3 for their mochi donuts We walked in to get a donut each, and we walked out splitting a dozen... because they have a great deal towards the end of the day where it's a deluxe dozen for $10 (usually the deluxe is $28 I believe). So, they had a limited variety but still plenty of donuts and they maybe weren't the freshest, but presumably they had been made that day still. The normal donuts: pretty tasty. The buttermilk was good. Nice fluffy raised donuts, though the lavender glaze didn't taste like much. The mochi donuts: texturally great, flavor-wise lacking. All of the glazes just tasted sweet and vaguely fruity, could not taste the strawberry or blueberry. The crunch was good though, added an extra dimension. I would give the mochi donuts a try if you've never had them and I'd come back for the buttermilk's since they're reasonably priced, escpecially at the end of the day!

I'll be real. Mochi donuts look frickin' delicious ... like shirtless Ryan Gosling's abs. I can't even concentrate on this review thinking about them. Seriously, like gahdahm ... beautiful ... flawless ... sculpted snacks of art. Coco Donuts has mochi donuts. I tried 3 flavors (Sugar, Matcha, and Oreo) of the chewy circles of 8 mochi (rice flour) dough balls connected into a gooey & sticky bracelet covered in a light frosting or sugar. They were dreamy. Nothing looks as good as Ryan Gosling ... except mochi donuts. Mochi donuts look like The Gos go F himself. Coco's raised doughnuts weren't nearly as charming or magical. They were ok ... and "ok" is ok. My camera and I wish I had just gotten a full 6-pack of mochi donuts instead of "trying" a couple classics. I'll be back Coco Donuts! I ain't saying no to anything this gorgeous. Mochi donuts are like hot chicks on Instagram ... as long as they look good, who cares ... I'm a fan.

After lunch, we were ready for our next snack; donuts and more coffee at Coco Donuts. They have a couple locations throughout the city. We dropped in on a Friday afternoon (around 1:30pm) and lucked out. They had an end of the day donut deal! $4.00 US for half a dozen or $8.00 US for a dozen. They also have 50% off drinks on Monday and Tuesday. Service was sweet, friendly and genuine. A big shout out to Genevieve who saved B's mitts (she forgot them) and gave us three complimentary donuts when we came back for them. Three cases of donuts on display; premium, filled, buttermilk, old fashion, raised bar, twist, cake toppings and raised toppings. They also have their own coffee beans for sale ($14.00 US to $15.00 US). - End of day donuts ($4.00 US for 6) - we ended up going with apple fritter, buttermilk glazed, chocolate coconut cake donut, lavender glaze, raspberry filled jelly and crumb raised. My favourite was the raspberry; the jam filling was excellent and tasty. Crumb raised had the lightest and fluffiest texture. B really enjoyed the buttermilk glazed. Apple fritter was standard. Lavender glaze was a touch subtle and floral. Chocolate coconut cake was, of course, the densest that we tried. - Drip ($3.00 US for 16 oz) - J found it strong and flavour was too sweet for his liking. - Lavender latte ($4.75 US for 12oz) - subtle in lavender but it was good and coffee notes came through. Quality, fresh donuts and an unreal, steal of a deal for their end of day donuts!

Coco is just really basic donuts. They have a nice light/airness to them. Lavender didn't taste like lavender though and the black sesame mochi donut was just okay. My partner likes the mochi one because she prefers the chewier ones (she said this one was similar to dochi, her favorite donut spot). We also got a lavender latte and chai latte (lavender was fine, really light lavender taste and not sweet which was good. Partner didn't like the chai and tossed it). Overall, it was fine..not sure I'd come back.

Stopped by Coco Donuts a few weeks ago to try some of their yummy mochi donuts and coffee! I love the cute space they have and they're right off of Williams St. in North Portland. The red velvet mochi donut I had was sweet and chewy, and I've been using their Coco Blend coffee everyday to start off my mornings right! It's a medium roast blend that pairs well with chocolate, so I love making mochas at home. Definitely stop by if you're in the area to pick up some breakfast or a quick snack!

Happened to pass by with a friend and upon walk-in, the cashier surprised us with a deal of getting a dozen deluxe donuts for $10, which is an awesome steal! I've always seen pictures of their scrumptious donuts on instagram and have been eyeing to try. Of my 6, I was able to try the mochi blueberry crumb, mochi sugar, mochi chocolate, mochi strawberry, a lavender raised, and a signature coco donut. Everything was absolutely delicious. Of the regular donuts, the dough was soft and airy. They also don't overdo it on the layered icing, which is great as I prefer my desserts to not be too sweet. The mochi donuts were great. They all had a soft, chewy texture that left you wanting more. All the select flavors were quite faint, so pretty much tasted the same, but delicious nonetheless. Staff was patient, personable, and friendly. Excited to have stumbled upon Coco. Excited to come back for more unique flavors. Highly recommend.

The bougiest box for donuts I've ever seen: Coco (Chanel) Donuts?
    Taj T.

Fresh, fluffy, and without the pretentiousness or gimmicks of certain starry or spooky spots in Portland (if you know, then you know), Coco Donuts is several steps above your average donut but falls short of being essential or exemplary. The beauty of biting into a Coco Donut is what you DON'T notice: there's no fried flavor, there's little resistance biting into their raised donuts. Obviously, these donuts are FRESH. The dough tastes like it was prepared today and fried recently. Even the color of each donut - a light golden brown - reveals that it hasn't had time to sit around and accumulate a lot of old, oily color. I didn't know it was possible to eat a donut and not feel gross, but Coco Donuts are actually refreshing! The flavors, however, need some work. The "Lavender", the only unique option in the box I got, was not potent enough. If I didn't know better, I'd say it was just purple colored sugar frosting. The "Apple Fritter" might have been just a fritter, since I didn't find any chunks of apple in mine at all. A very beautifully designed fritter though, a criss crossed ball that looked like it was woven. The WINNERS, I'd say, are the "cinnamon roll" and the "glazed twist". Where Coco Donuts shines is being the most basic so that maximum attention is drawn to their fresh dough and frying techniques.

I just had a chance to interact with their mobile food truck at an event, which was such a fun aspect to the overall event. I got a quad of donuts and a chocolatey chai! Also I will say this: Pip's offers a free birthday dozen, which is incredibly generous gift. My birthday falls around the holidays so I usually can't make it in, but I want to be clear that I have absolutely zero complaints about that. Adults, especially, should never grumble about not receiving a generous freebie. The fact that they offer it at all speaks volumes about the kind of business they are!

Service was pretty solid here and the menu is easy to read. Upon seating, they made a whoopsie by giving me a heated chai, but I can overlook that since they gave us an extra donut :) We got brownie butter, cinnamon sugar, and raw honey + salt to share. I got the King and I (made dirty) for my own because I love pandan. They put a lot of care into their product and it definitely shows. Chai was spectacular and donuts were delicious. I'm returning!

Walking in less than an hour before closing, we were surprised to see most of the items still in stock! We ended up picking four things to try: Vanilla Bean Kouign Amann ($7) - This pasty has a sweet yet salty exterior that's complementary in flavor rather than clashing. It's accentuated with a crunchy glazed and caramelized sugar layer that's on the sweeter side. The interior is interesting. There's a cavernous gap right in the center that's filled with a sickly sweet melted sugar syrup. It's unpleasantly sweet and very cloying. The puffed and filled area is large enough that it compresses the other layers so the kouign amann is dense. I've never had a kouign amann quite this sweet before. (3/5) Meyer Lemon Olive Oil Cake with Thyme ($5.50) - This cake is so moist and rich, thick and dense, fatty and rich, that it feels like I"m eating a slab of butter. I'm sure it has just as many calories too! It's quite sweet, although not nearly to the level of the kouign amann. Overall, it's just a really rich and decadent cake. (4/5) Blueberry + Vanilla Cream Brioche Donut w/ Earl Grey ($6) - The top of the pastry is dressed with a cream that has an unmistakably strong bergomot earl grey taste. I wish there was way more cream - there's essentially only a dab on top! The rest of the donut is filled with a custardy light blueberry and vanilla jam. It's not too sweet and has an excellent high quality blueberry fragrance, creating an exceptionally strong blueberry taste. The jam is not too thick and is somewhat syrupy from sugar. The donut itself is really soft and extremely airy. It's the fluffiest donut I've eaten in a long time. (5/5) Raspberry Rose Cruffin ($8.50) - This pastry has some fun dehydrated raspberries sprinkled right on top of a light and fluffy cream that's not too sweet. The cruffin base is buttery in taste and great lamination even when filled with the custard and rose/raspberry cream. This is a heavy cruffin that's very filling. However, be advised, there are only two tables in the back of their public space, so it's not particularly inviting space to sit and enjoy your breakfast.
