Surprised to see a Coco's Bakery that's actually still in business. We found this place on a random drive looking for food. Nostalgia comes to mind as the first impression when walking in. It was a Sunday, early evening with maybe 5-6 tables being served. So as a customer, not busy at all. For the server, it was. She was extremely nice and friendly, but she forgot to give my husband utensils for his order of chicken fried steak. He ended up grabbing a set from an unoccupied table. It wasn't the biggest deal, and the server apologized. I ordered the turkey avocado croissant sandwich. The menu description about it was accurate. You'll have to check it out for yourself to know what I mean. Overall, my experience was purely a nostalgic one, especially because the atmosphere was like going back in time. The furniture, decoration, lighting and general vibe took me back to the 90s. Those were good times.

Coco's is an old-school favorite that still delivers that quick, classic service just like back in the 80s. The steak was seasoned to perfection and cooked rare--exactly the way I love it. Honestly, I was surprised at just how perfect it was--not what I would've expected, but definitely impressive! Our waitress was attentive and on point, keeping our iced tea and water refilled without us having to ask. She checked in on us several times, making sure we had everything we needed. Great service all around and great vibe with nostalgia photos of the area.

Bugs

Run down. Dead fly and bug casings in window sill. Weird, gross thing on ceiling. Mediocre food.

I was excited try Coco's again when I saw a sign on the door announcing new ownership. The food quality and service had gotten so bad that I thought things would definitely improve. Based on my experience today, it's actually worse. I arrived by myself at 11:15am and there were 3 parties on the Waitlist even though there were several open tables and they were only seating one third of the restaurant. It took 20 minutes to get seated, and another 10 minutes before my server took my order. As I waited for my food, I noticed there were only 2 servers with one of them (my server) greeting and seating guests and taking payments in addition to covering half of the tables. When my server brought my Cinnamon Roll French Toast combo, the French Toast was obviously burnt. But, she never came back to check on me so I ate what I could and left. This location has always operated understaffed but they at least had a cashier or manager to take names and payments. Today was another unacceptable experience and another example why Coco's has closed so many locations.

Too much salt in the food. Very lousy service. When the staff was told about the salt they did not accept it. Will never come here.

This candy shop is a throwback in time. It was quaint with so much decor for one's eyes to enjoy. I…read morehave been here before for the candy & recommend it as a treat to yourself or as a gift. Chocolate I have eaten was creamy & delicious. This time I wanted to try a sandwich. Glad I did because it was fresh & delicious. I ordered a Build-A-Sandwich & you will see in my picture how fresh & well stacked it was. Sandwiches come with chips. I also ordered a Village Mango ice tea which topped off the meal. It was refreshing with the splash of pineapple & mango pieces being a treat at the end of the drink. The 2-workers were very friendly & served me within 5-minutes after I filled out my sandwich order. Of course I got some chocolate to go but I gotta try the peanut brittle next time.

Was craving a good cookie while downtown. Stopped in and they had a special buy 3 get 1 free. Got 2…read morepeanut butter, chocolate chip, and a sugar. Also got a pecan popcorn bag and some white chocolate over honeycomb. Everything tasted like it was from the 10-day old bakery. All the cookies were stale, hard, and lacked flavor. The popcorn was chewy and also lacked flavor. The white chocolate honeycomb was hard and just not good. Every item we bought couldn't be finished because it was stale and just plain unappetizing. We ended up throwing everything out. So disappointing. Had to go to Cookie Crumble to satisfy the craving. Was trying to keep it local without going to a chain, but there was no comparison. Do better Village Candy. We want to support our local businesses but the quality has to be there.
