    Grilled chicken banh mi
    Stesha C.

Bahn mi were big! I've definitely paid more for sandwiches half that size. The bread is delicious and stays delicious even after a day in the fridge- mind blown! I got the grilled chicken banh mi with extra veggies on the way to an appointment. Planned on eating half, but scarfed the whole thing in the car. Picked up my man a combo bahn mi, he said the meat texture was a little strange, but delicious nonetheless. I ordered online and pick up was quick and easy Excited to come back to try their boba!

One of my go to's when I'm in Albuquerque, though it's been a minute since my last visit and I didn't realize they changed locations and expanded. New spot is much bigger and still fills up. Got my usual pork banh mi and tried a side of fried tofu, both were amazing. Had the tofu with green onions and wood ear mushrooms, and it was so delicious and soft and sweet and perfectly paired with the fish sauce/soy sauce side. Pork banh mi was tasty and had such flavorful pieces of pork and were well distributed across the sandwich. Perfectly pickled daikon and carrots. Crowded even on a Thursday afternoon, but still were able to grab a table.

Coda Bakery is so amazing! It was my favorite meal of my trip to New Mexico. If you're in the area, you need to make a stop here. Love, Love, Love! This place has delicious Vermicelli Noodle Bowls and Bahn Mi Sandwiches. The grilled pork was a must get. The price is reasonable and there are plenty of seats inside to enjoy your meal at. The staff was very friendly. Plus there's free parking and restrooms inside. Highly recommend Coda Bakery and will definitely be back soon!

I had hit a point in my trip where my body just NEEDED Asian food. They had a ton of other items laid out for you to pick up, but I went solely to get my hands on a banh mi. Ordered a combination to share with my fiance and good thing I did! Sandwich was HUGE and packed with meat. Bread was soft and crunchy at the same time. Not too bready and definitely did not cut up the top of my mouth. Only thing I wished was more pate! The cashier's attitude could've been better. Asked her what's in the case since there weren't signs, but she answered like I'm bugging her. Followed up asking if they would have anything else pate filled, she just repeated her prior answer with extra annoyance. Observed her attitude with other customers and it was so inconsistent. Restaurant was large and clean. Not sure if it's a regular thing, but when I went to get napkins, there was a homeless lady there helping herself to a huge cup of water (and making a mess) and a ton of napkins.. None of the employees seemed phased? Good choice in ABQ to scratch the itch for Asian food. Customer service was a turn off.

Coda Bakery is my favorite Vietnamese deli of all time. Whenever I'm in town, I have to stop by here! Their bánh mì are incredible. The bread is freshly baked. The sandwich itself is huge. It is 12" long and they are generous with the amount of meat/filling. They have so many delicious, authentic Vietnamese snacks and treats, including chè, bánh da lợn, and xôi. I also like to buy their freshly made tofu and chả lụa. I love that they have a New Mexican fusion version of pâté chaud that is filled with green chile chicken. They used to be located near Talin Market, but they've since moved. The new location is bigger and more spacious.

Pandan cake - flavor was too subtle, but I liked the texture

Carryout shrimp spring rolls were just okay. They were large enough, and the lettuce was fresh, but the shrimp weren't seasoned or grilled. For $8, a little more flavor infusion would make a big difference. Peanut sauce: solid A.

Everything on the menu is a must to try! It maybe busy but all worth it especially the pork/shrimp spring rolls. It's no surprise when you see the long line and it's an experience to see how the new location is built.

Name a better place to get Banh Mi and Spring Rolls in ABQ, I'll wait. It's a busy spot but well worth the wait. There hasn't been a single item I've tried here yet that I'm not a fan of. My recent favorite has become the onion tofu banh mi. The thing that first caught my eye were the burrito sized spring rolls. Filled with pork and shrimp sausage. Make sure to get the one with some crunchy roll in them. I also love their viet iced coffee but only when I'm really needing that burst of caffeine. I love how friendly, prompt and efficient they are there. Not to mention the breads are baked in house. It's bustling seating area so I typically eat outside or grab my food to go. Highly recommend next time you are craving a banh mi.

Okay, I have to say this is the second time I've been here and unless something changes, this is a definite go to spot whenever I'm in ABQ! We had the rolled noodles, grilled pork sandwich, fried tofu, spring roll, and a chicken turnover type thing, and my all time favorite, the banh cam! My apologies but I was so excited to be here the second time I didn't take pics of all the food or the menu! I just wanted to EAT! Admittedly having my cute 1 yo grandson eating with us was also a major distraction. Okay back to the food! Loved the rolled noodles that come with fixings and spheres of meat. Had to ask my pals back in the Bay Area where I can get this dish so stay tuned for Bay Area and LA recs. Coda makes it great and I love the explosion of flavors and textures. Soft noodles filled with bits or pork and mushrooms contrasting with the cucumbers, cilantro, bean sprouts, fried garlic and spheres of meat. The sandwich is a foot long and way better than what you'd get at the famous "foot long" place. The bread is fresh, the veggies crisp and the meat perfectly grilled. The chicken turnover tasted like a buttery pot pie. Gson loved the buttery flakey shell. Mmmmm what's not to love about that? The fried tofu is made in house and it tastes nice and fresh. Make sure you eat it while it's warm and dip it on the soy sauce. The bahn cam is what I came for (and the noodles). It a great crunchy exterior with a creamy coconut filling. Sadly on this second visit the inside was not as good as the first time but the shell still had a satisfying crisp crunch. I'm coming back for sure! The place is a bit cramped to eat in and I see a lot of orders to go. There are a few tables outside if you can stand the heat!

OMG what an amazing spot for lunch!!! No surprise this place is SUPER POPULAR. We ordered ahead online and skipped the lines. Brought the food with us to meet my daughter at work. This place has AMAZING Vietnamese sandwiches! Tried both the meatball and combo sandwiches and both were delicious. For only $12 you get a HUGE sandwich. Might be the best deal in town. We also ordered a couple fried tofu sticks ($1.20 each) and they were really good too! Wished we had ordered the raisin buns/rolls as they also looked really good. They also have Vietnamese coffee and an avocado smoothie! So many things to try....will have to come back!

I expected a little more.... Granted my expectations and this place was fine but nothing blew my mind. The avocado shake was decent, rich buttery but what'd you'd expect. Service was ok, not as helpful as I would've hoped it terms of recommendations. Additionally around 3pm they were sold out of most items. The sesame ball was too oily. Fresh spring rolls were decent but again not the best I've ever had. Maybe it was an off day, but I wouldn't make the detour.

Great experience at Coda Bakery. I was looking forward to this place when I saw it on Triple D. I really love the fried tofu and the sauce that would go with it. A great experience and the banh mi was great too. A must if you're in the ABQ area!

It's not down to an agreed list of two or three. When you open up the question, you get a dozen or more answers. That situation can mean many or all of several things: (1) Maybe Albuquerque really is VN food heaven; (2) Maybe there is no consensus on what constitutes really good VN food; or (3) Maybe most people pick the first VN restaurant they like and stick with it. I did #3 for years, sticking with Vietnam 200 and Viet Taste. Well, things change -- great restaurants slip and deliver mediocre experiences. Or we just get tired of same old, same old, and want to look around. I began looking around with a trip to Saigon City, an old restaurant in a slick new location in the same strip with Pars Middle Eastern restaurant in 25 Way. I went last night with my daughter and son-in-law, both experienced eaters. I previewed their menu on their website (a good thing when faced with a huge menu). I selected three items I wanted to try. Leaving the Pho for a later trip, I chose to begin with the green mussels stir fried and dished up with spicy veggie bits. There were six on the plate. I had to move quickly to get two of them. What a treat! I could make a meal of a plate of six of these. Next, I went for B3, the code for grilled chicken and veggies over vermicelli noodles with chili sauce. I like my food spicy. After the mussels, my hopes were up. Well, B3 was a very tasty dish. I would order it again anytime. Fresh, fresh, fresh. But pretty mild in the spice category. The chicken was nicely spiced, and there were red flakes in the vermicelli noodles, but not nearly enough of them. I tried my daughter's pork and vermicelli and thought it a bit better. We finished the meal with sicky rice & mango. The menu offers only sticky rice and banana, which is itself a very nice dessert, but our server mentioned that we could have mango instead for slightly higher charge. Since sticky rice with mango in coconut sauce is one of the five greatest desserts in the world, I went for it with gusto. This dish was the only slight stumble in the meal. I thought the rice was a bit underdone and the sauce not too thrilling. Not bad, but not at the standard set by the other dishes. I look forward to returning soon to try the pho. The service was very good, very friendly, and very helpful. I recommend sitting near the front of the restaurant and away from the service area where the staff conduct loud conversations among themselves. The interior of the restaurant is very nicely decorated and lighted. I was very comfortable eating at this fine restaurant.

Fish sauce is going to be the grey area because thats always personal preference, it was good, but would say more on the fishy side, which my fiance liked. Im used to my moms sauce which is more on the sweeter side. I also got an Vietnamese iced coffee and I will say it is probably the best Vietnamese ice coffee that I've had in thr ABQ area. Its was strong and nice and smooth. It wasn't too sweet. The reason why I say this is the best iced Vietnamese cofee I've had in ABQ is because other places, the Vietnamese coffee is bitter or its not balanced enough with flavor. At over $8 for a cup, it's pricey but if i need a Vietnamese coffee fix, this will be a good to spot.
