There was a period in my life where I just really enjoyed dessert waffles, so I was really excited to try this. I came during a Saturday early evening and I was surprised there was still a good amount of people here just working with their laptop. I assume tables get taken rather quickly here, but luckily I found an open table so I could have my waffle here. Ordering was quite easy- I ordered the fresh fruit waffle and an iced strawberry latte. My drink came out first and it did take a while for the waffle dish to be finished. Once I finally retrieved both, first glance the presentation already seemed really pretty! Now trying the fresh fruit waffle, it wasn't as nostalgic as I remembered lol. Their waffle here was kind of too airy for my liking, so it was mainly just crispy? I wish it was more doughy that you could taste more of the waffle itself. I did enjoy it with the vanilla ice cream as well. Although, having this with grapes tasted a bit odd since the grapes made some bites sour and sweet. Having this waffle dish all to yourself makes this really sweet. Then trying the iced strawberry latte, that also tasted really sweet. It was cool they added those espresso cubes, but you'd have to wait a bit for it to melt so it could taste more like coffee. So the initial taste was really sweet because of the strawberry, but the drink later tasted much better once the ice cubes started melting. Overall, everything just tasted really sweet. This place is practically right outside of the dirt lot at Knott's, so if you need a pick me up after a long day at the park, this place is a good choice! It's literally ~2 blocks away off the same street as the parking lot (same side of the street, too). I got the vanilla latte and my husband got the horchata latte (both iced). The drinks def had a kick to them (thank god, we're also parents of a toddler lol), which the employee warned us about and she wasn't lying. Loved the idea of the coffee iced cubes. Not only did our coffees look pretty, but they were also delicious. Definitely a nice place to be at, and it's worth the drive up to Buena Park. Iced Strawberry Latte: 5/5, strawberry syrup was used, but it did not have an artificial fruity taste! I don't usually go for fruit-flavored lattes, but this one pleasantly surprised me and my friends. The barista said this was one of their most popular drinks, and I can see why. Just try it! Iced Demerara Latte subbed with whole milk instead of oat milk: 4/5, had the nice crunchy sugar crystals, probably not meant to fully dissolve in the drink? It's also not as sweet as I thought it would be, despite using that special sugar for flavor and sweetness. It reminded me of one similar to Blue Bottle's. Iced White Chocolate Latte: 5/5, sweet and creamy without overpowering the coffee taste. Does not taste like your average white chocolate mocha from Starbucks, that's for sure. Came to this location because I love the fullerton one but this was closer to my church so I decided to give it a try. Service was really good but I ordered a hot vanilla latte for here and was disappointed that it 1. not only came in a to-go cup, but 2. there was so much foam I had to scrape off on top of my coffee. The photo I attached is how much of my latte that was remaining after scraping the foam off the top. The muffin was standard but every cafe has almost the same pastries. Would recommend not sending out hot drinks until the employee is approved of properly steaming the milk. read more

Coffee Code is near Knott's in Buena Park, and I stopped by for a late afternoon to get some work done. I'm usually a fan of regular lattes, but I tried their Demerara Oat Latte. I'm not a fan of syrups, but I gave the Demerara sugar bits a try, and there were many crystals to bite. Overall, a good latte that - to my knowledge - is unique to this location. Outside of the coffee, Coffee Code's lounges are a nice, quiet place to spend a lazy afternoon. Parking is easy, tables are clean, and there is much seating. We tried a variety of coffee drinks and they were all very good. The "Sweet Chocolate Waffle" is a thing of beauty. You start with a huge freshly-made waffle, add some whipped cream on top sides, and then add chocolate sauce, sliced grapes and bananas. Oh right, you also get two big scoops of chocolate ice cream on top. How you like me now? This thing was delicious and very shareable. They also have a variety of croissants and other baked goods.
