Needed food after running the streets of the OC so I decided to go the Paul's place. There are multiple locations in the area. When I pulled into the drive thru there was only one car in front of me. The line moved pretty fast and my order was taken quickly and accurately. The service was great. The cashier remembered all my requests when she handed me my food. I opted for a cheeseburger combo w/ grilled onions and extra pickles. It comes with fries and a drink. I always request extra crispy fries. I got a pink lemonade to drink to share with my son. The combo was $16.30. Not too bad, it's a lot of food. The burger was charbroiled and cooked perfectly. I love that they use shredded lettuce and their onions are actually grilled. Kind of like another establishment known for their grilled onions. The fries were extra crispy and nicely salted. The drink had to much syrup and even after diluting with a bottle of water, it was still really sweet. The ambiance of this place is casual and it has that typical burger joint feel. This is not any place you want to go to. This has to be one of the worst fish taco plates I've ever had. Soggy fried who knows what kind of cheap fish tacos smothered in a spicy sauce with watered down beans and weird rice. I was starving so I ate most of the rice which tasted like a mixture of rice r roni with raw cucumbers which was very odd. They had partially cooked carrots mixed in as well. The beans were a mess, just horrible all around. Like something you'd see in a toilet. My friends each got French toast which was lukewarm and the bread was chewy and the bottoms were burned. 2 stars because the service was friendly and the restaurant was empty and clean. Deep fried mushrooms for the win! The cashier has such a great deep alto voice -- he could honestly be a voice actor. It made me smile when he said, "Be safe!" On the way out. It took me a second to realize he probably said that because it was during the height of the ICE raid unrest happening nearby. I've been coming here for over 20 years, and the service and food quality have always been consistently solid. It's one of those dependable neighborhood spots that never really lets you down. We tried a few things. The steak sandwich was too greasy and fatty and flavorless. The chili cheese fries were just average. I got the Avocado burger and wanted to send it back because I couldn't find the avocado. After the employee helped me search for it we found a tiny piece buried inside. Very unimpressed by this. If its an avocado burger you should see plenty of avocado. They should of gave me more to make up for it. Not planning on going back. read more

130 pm, Sunday, December 14, 2025 I told myself only the Colossal Burger, that's it! The cashier was so friendly, she asked if I wanted to upgrade it to the combo. Ugh... It was so hard to choose but I stuck to my choice. Burger only. Burger delivered to the table in four minutes! Since I didn't order a combo, there was no plastic basket. Instead it came on a disposable plate. The burger was great as always. It was hot off the grill, juicy, soft bun, fresh shredded lettuce, thousand Island dressing, topped with pastrami. In five minutes, it was gone... So, this is a great time to come to the drive thru (after the lunch rush dies down). It might not mean much to someone to say hey you did a great job on my eggs or my steak but nowadays when things are so expensive and you purchase a meal you hope and cross your fingers they added that TLC so that you're not throwing your money away! Honestly, one of my pet peeves is cooks that cannot make eggs like if you don't know how to cook an egg. Good luck on your meal. I came in this morning. This place was suggested by one of those Instagram food influencers.... Yikes... I know not to take their suggestions anymore. The food was freshly cooked but saturated in oil. It soaked through the box and bag. The zucchini fried were full length and evenly battered. They melted some type of cheese on top of them, seemed weird and gave them an odd flavor. Maybe they thought they were taquitos or something. While I didn't go inside, the exterior and menu certainly needed a refresh. I ate in my car and was approached by someone begging for money. The ranch with the fries was the saving grace. Unlike most places they gave you plenty with no extra cost/cost built in. Pretty sure I won't be back here unless they make some improvements. I ordered onion rings, fries, a BLT, and a fish sandwich. Upon returning home, I discovered that the fish sandwich contained chicken instead of fish. Consequently, I contacted Paul's establishment, but the female staff member's demeanor was highly inappropriate. Her tone conveyed a sense of accusation and disbelief, as if I were attempting to deceive her. I explained that I had a meeting in 30 minutes and needed to leave immediately. I expressed my concern that I would be inconveniencing her by returning to waste time driving back and forth, which would result in me being late for my meeting. I emphasized that I have a life and that I value my time. If the staff had accurately interpreted my order from the beginning, I would not have had to endure this unnecessary inconvenience. Passed by this place exiting the freeway thought to give it a try. I really loved how the menu looked. Everything is hand drawn, very creative. They had an extensive menu. I had difficulties choosing what I wanted. They have a bunch of different drink choices and a few Agua Fresca choices, which is great. They also have shakes in vanilla, strawberry, and chocolate. I got a bacon cheeseburger combo in total. It was about $17 came with burger, fries, and a drink and I also got a raspberry iced tea for my drink. I did not dine in, but they do have dining as an option. Establishment is super cute. They have booths all around, and the booths have partitions with their logos, which is really dope. They also have a drive-through. The drive-through is really long though, so I decided to come inside and order. They originally made my burger wrong, forgot the bacon (even though it was clearly on the receipt) but once I went inside someone helped immediately and they even gave me another bag of French fries for the inconvenience. The fries WERE PERFECT! And I like squishy fries, a majority were squishy and paired well with the ranch. The burger was decent nothing amazing. I'm never really in that area, so I probably wouldn't go out of my way to have it again. read more

I've tried Paul's Place many a time at my sister n'law's home. They love getting two items from here delivered to their home. Today was the first day that I got to step inside the restaurant. This happened because Wifey and I bought their favorite two items for all of us to share. Wifey called ahead of time so we would not have to wait too long for the food. The employee who answered was polite. You could tell they were really busy because it was very noisy in the background. Sure enough when we arrived at the restaurant 15 minutes later, the place was filled with patrons. The restaurant looks terrific inside. I had no idea that Paul's Place has such a large variety of food on their menu. The only two items that I've tried from them are their Fried Zucchini and their Fried Mushrooms. I'm a big fan of those two items too. They taste scrumptious especially with the ranch dressing they give with them. I asked my nieces if they've tried anything else from Paul's Place. My daughter ordered our meals, as she went to pick up, they forgot the drinks. They told her to pull back around for the drinks, that they would give them to her for free. I don't know how it was going to be free when she had already paid for them. When she got to my house, the orders were wrong. She called and spoke to one of the workers, she let them know that the orders were wrong. I live in Orange so she asked if she could go to the Orange location to correct their error. So, for all the years we've been coming to this Paul's, which we claim as our FAVORITE Paul's Place, we normally hit the drive-thru. Last night after a physically exhausting day, we decided to treat ourselves to a nice Paul's BLT and Fried zucchini. The drive-thru was very busy, so I decided to run inside and order there (good thing I did, because some of the cars that were in the drive-thru when we arrived were still there when we had our food and left). Each of our BLT's were spectacular, as usual. Just filled to the brim with fresh lettuce, ripe tomatoes, and thick, hearty bacon. And the fried zuchinni was hot, fresh, crunchy to a degree, and tasty, as well. Everything was so fresh. The wife proclaims their ranch dressing just as good as hers! lol I would have given 5 stars, but there was one drawback, not to the food, but to the experience because of something inside the restaurant. As soon as I walked through their front doors, I was hit with this horrific sewer-smelling odor. It was like the ac system had been piping in straight sewer smell. I thought "uh oh, someone's having bathroom issues." But after I ordered, I went to the bathroom and it was shockingly better smelling in there than in the restaurant. I don't know what's going on with this (Oh and the bathroom was pretty clean in appearance, as well) but it needs to be addressed. I don't know how the people eating inside the restaurant could handle it. I know I couldn't. Good thing my order was to-go. But don't think it has anything to do with the cleanliness of the kitchen or anything like that. Again, to sum up, we'll continue to enjoy Paul's in the future. Service was with a smile, as well. P.S. I just wanted to address a previous commenter's comment about soggy fries? We don't like soggy fries, either. We ALWAYS ask for slightly well done, like we did with our zuchinni.
