I was right, able to get indoor table with my friend easier. I'm used to the friendly vibe at Santa Clara, but this place has overall good service! Parking is bigger here overall. Ordered my usual Tokyo Matcha, I didn't adjust the sweetness. I believe I get more floral flavor from the Santa Clara location. Decided to get their matcha powder to try at home. I'm invested to visit the other locations!

What I love: - They always innovate on their specialty lattes, they have new flavors that change with the season, but they also keep their original menu intact as well. Pretty much anything you get is solid in taste. Their lattes always have that slightly malted vanilla note which I prefer. Today I tried their new Savannah Mint & Bourbon latte which was quite refreshing. Would recommend getting it light-sweet, it would be overly sweet if you didn't in my opinion. Also the barista recommended to get it iced which was a good call. - Plenty of seating. The place seems small, but somehow they have a lot of seating between the indoor and outdoor spaces What could be improved: - The WiFi is always spotty at this location. I've been forced to use my hotspot multiple times - Their food offering is pretty basic and the pastries aren't amazing either. Would be nice to see them have more options either made in house or from a better bakery. The bakery they use currently is pretty mid. What can't be improved, but kind of sucks (LOL): - The parking lot is a nightmare! It's always full and whoever designed it was not very smart (to put it politely). It is so congested and in some parts there is no way 2 cars can pass, let alone back out of the parking spot itself! The coffee shop is too popular for this parking lot basically.

We walked from a nearby neighborhood with a group of 6 plus a newborn baby. Vibe: We ordered and sat down at the tables in the back. Along the back hall there is beautiful Indonesian art on the wall by little standing tables, and behind the back tables beautiful tapestries. The aesthetic is clean, calming, and uniquely Indonesian (I believe they shipped many of the furniture and decor from Indonesia). Family friendly: My favorite part of the physical cafe set up (as a nursing mom) was the baby feeding nook! I was able to tuck in and use the chair and hook the (very cute ) curtain closed to really give my baby a proper feed instead of messing with nursing covers. It was a really nice experience and not one I've had at any other cafe or public space. There is also a diaper changing station in the bathroom. These are surprisingly rare and I've noticed most Starbucks in the area do not even have them. Drinks: Of course the drinks are amazing! If you've been following Hijau since their farmers market days you know this. I did try their pandan matcha (iced w oat milk) for the first time today and it was sooooo good. I also ordered an almond croissant and enjoyed it. Can't wait to return

We tried The Golden Child, Honey Lavender Latte, and Mabuhay Ube Latte. The Golden Child had an interesting blend of chai, espresso, and turmeric, but the flavors didn't come together as well as I expected. The Mabuhay Ube Latte had a nice color and presentation, though the ube and coconut flavors were fairly subtle. They give you the option to put double matcha (for the honey matcha latte) which is a plus! The double shot of matcha and the honey pairs really well together. It has the perfect amount of sweetness and a perfect amount of matcha to make it taste rich without being bitter. The strawberry matcha latte has strawberry puree and strawberry bits which makes it taste really sweet. It's a really good contrast of flavors and an overall solid strawberry matcha latte. They also updated the self-ordering kiosk with 2 instead of one now, so there's barely any lines now compared to when they first opened. The drinks are a lot quicker so you don't have to wait too long. There's also no seats inside but there's plenty of waiting space on the outside patio! Overall I would highly recommend this place for matcha lovers. Their matcha is super rich in flavor and they have a lot of options. Sometimes, they also have matcha powder in stock too! My first experience was pretty mid because the ceremonial matcha latte was VERY strong and bitter. I couldn't finish it and it made me super jittery. After coming back a few more times though, I found a couple things I really liked. The Crème Brûlée Matcha was delicious. I finished the entire drink. You can't change the sweetness level, which is unfortunate, but their recommended sweetness actually balanced the stronger matcha really well. The ice cream is probably the best thing here. Super creamy, perfectly sweet and really well blended. I would honestly come back just for the ice cream. The strawberry matcha latte was pretty unmemorable to me, and the hojicha was also extremely bitter. Service was good. The barista was kind and helpful, which I appreciated. You order through a kiosk, so there isn't a ton of interaction overall. When I first came around their opening, there was basically no line. After they started getting more hype, the lines became longer and longer. I think it's worth trying, but personally I wouldn't wait in a huge line for it. Overall, the matcha itself tastes authentic and is prepared well, but some drinks are just too bitter for my preference. My recommendations: the ice cream or Crème Brûlée Matcha. Those were easily the standouts for me.

There's a larger communal table, and some counter seating. Parking can be difficult. There's a small area in the parking garage for "guest" parking. It's almost always full and you will depend on luck to find one spot there or arrive in time when someone is leaving their spot. There is no parking on most of the surrounding streets, except for the small section of the road that curves underneath Lawrence. And that part is often full of parked cars. It can be frustrating and this parking situation will easily drive away customers to find somewhere else with easier parking. If you're fortunate enough to get parking, you will find that Coffeebar offers a decent coffee menu, baked goods, and some food if you need more than a snack.
