I had to be in Everett for the day and due to the early hour, decided I would take in breakfast. Last time in town, I tried Bob's and the service and overall experience were poor despite a fairly flavorful meal. I decided to lean a little harder on Yelp and decided to try this place. The first thing I noticed on my approach was the size. You are going to be challenged to fit more than 10 people in this place comfortably. The menu was simple, but they had plenty to choose from as well as a heart sandwich menu for lunch. Personally, I thought the price was a bit high for breakfast and more specific, the location, but I would assume, the number one flaw of this place (Size) is the reason prices are not competitive. When you can't service at least 40 or more, how can you turn a profit without increasing pricing? I was disappointed with my omelet. I was cooked to perfection, but the meat portion was so small that after a few bites, it was a veggie omelet. I should have stuck with the Bacon & Eggs, the guy next to me had that and it looked far heartier than my plate. No complaints about service, super friendly and had the portion been larger or the pricing more favorable, this would be a much better review. In the end, I don't feel I got my monies worth and that ruins the entire experience for me. read more

I'm not sure why all the rave reviews. I'd say it's mediocre. The owners are very friendly, so they have that going for them. The food was good but not spectacular. The atmosphere is what kills it. It's very small, drafty, just a few tables (not sure why Yelp says it's good for groups... maybe a group of 4?), and you order at the counter. Oh, and sodas come in cans, so no refills. Our conclusion was that if we ate there again, it would be for take out. I'd say it would be more suitable as a drive through. Then it would warrant 4 or 5 stars. read more

Stopped here for lunch after watching a lot of people come and go through the door. I was mostly drawn by the fact that you can pick up a burger for about $5. It's getting harder find a local joint selling burgers for less than $10 these days. The burgers at Colby diner are actually on the large side too. They won't win any awards for being gourmet as they're a pretty straight up burger with lettuce, tomato and pickle but you really got a lot for your money and it was tasty. The fries were decent too but as soon as you order them you know something is up. The burger made from beef which is currently going for $4/lb costs $5. The fries made from potatoes going for $0.30/lb cost $4. It's clear they're subsidizing the burgers with the profit from the fries. I say buy them anyway. A burger and fries for $9 is still a decent deal and if it keeps the local businesses open then I'm all for it. The decor is old school diner with checkered floor and lots of red. The walls are covered with Colby Cruise Night photos of old cars. Very cool and nice location. Not much else to say about it. read more

Awesome breakfast!! Quiet little cafe, especially for a Saturday morning at 9am. Super fast service, very kind waitress, cheep prices and delicious food! I had the Denver omelet and my boyfriend had a waffle with a side of soft bacon which was cooked perfectly! Only downfall was they didn't have strawberries and whip cream for the waffle but overall great food. We will definitely be back!! read more

This place is a 3, and no more. Nothing wrong with it, but nothing amazing either. The service was polite, friendly, and prompt. The food was adequate; we went for breakfast and I had a veggie scramble. My partner had a breakfast sandwich that surprisingly came on a sesame burger bun rather than toast. They serve basic food, nothing extra, nothing fancy or special. It's a small shop with a casual unimpressive ambiance. A nice little place! Good, hearty American food. Hard to find now without the frou-frou! Pictures of classic cars all over the walls! But what impressed us the most was the owners attitude. Not realizing they closed at 3, we came in very last minute. We've been in restaurants where even showing up an hour before closing has resulted in a huffy bad attitude. Not here! The owner cheerfully served us great food and when we apologized for coming in so near to closing told us not to think anything of it! He even brewed a pot of coffee for me! (I am in no way recommending people come in near closing time! A mistake on our part). So incredibly nice! Amazing french fries, milkshakes, burgers! Was looking for a low-priced burger joint nearby, and decided to give this place a chance even though it only had one review on here at the time. Ordered a DLX cheeseburger and a chocolate shake, my mom got a DLX burger and fries. And all of it was DELICIOUS. The shake is great, and really thick like a Frosty from Wendy's. The food's not as cheap as you'd find at a big chain burger joint, but you get a lot more food than you'd get elsewhere (seriously, the burgers are pretty big). I went here for lunch with a coworker after visiting a client next door. It was a little after lunch time and we hadn't thought about lunch until we smelled the awesomeness coming from this joint. Follow your nose. It always knows. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger basket. Comes with fries and a fountain drink for about ten bucks. I love burgers and this has to be at the top for flavor in the area. They're fresh beef patties not frozen. Bacon was awesome. The fries are home made with the skin on and cooked to perfection. I've been a regular at the Strawberry Patch Cafe next door for a few years. Went for breakfast today and ended up walking out after sitting for 15 minutes and being completely ignored by the new staff there. So I dropped into the Colby Diner where I was given coffee upon sitting down and order take within a couple minutes. Ten minutes later I had my breakfast. The cook and owner both checked to see how my meal was and all were very friendly. My only complaints would be that the hash browns were just drenched in butter and the prices were just a tad high. Upon leaving I glanced into the Strawberry Patch and noticed that some of the parties that arrived the same time as me were still waiting for their food. read more

Went here for breakfast based on som Yelp reviews. It's a small place with very limited seating but not a problem at 7 am. The breakfast plate with pancakes were fine. Diner quality food. However, the breakfast sandwich was outstanding!! And you can order just the sandwich and not as a breakfast plate. The sandwich has a sausage patty the size of a burger. It is even served on a burger bun! With the egg and cheese, this is a better sandwich than a fast food restaurant. Way better!! I love this breakfast sandwich! Watch out for the grease though. It will burn you as you bite because it drips out the other end on your hand. But who cares, this sandwich rocks! read more

We drive by this place all the time and I'm glad we finally tried it. Sunday afternoon with a burger craving....Ray's is closed, Nick's phone is busy, and Z's Burgers must have closed? Their phone is disconnected. Luckily a few Yelp reviews mentioned they had good burgers here so we gave them a try and they were fantastic! My husband ordered a double cheeseburger and the patties are so big already, it was too much meat for him.
