Peter is a truly excellent repairman. Samsung's customer service referred me to one of Reparo's competitors, a company with only 1.5 stars. Yeah, no thanks. I then went on Yelp, and heard back almost immediately from Lara, who was incredibly responsive, knowledgeable, and helpful. She sent out Peter the next day, and he was able to fix our refrigerator after yet another company said it wasn't worth fixing. (It's only six years old.) I was deeply impressed by Peter's professionalism and service, and will never again call any other company besides Reparo. Here's the rundown on our repair job in case anyone has similar issues, or needs examples of the prowess of this company's techs. It appeared that our fridge had failing door seals. Also, the freezer door would sometimes be stuck so hard that we could barely open it, some sort of bizarre vacuum-suction situation. Additionally, the unit would emit loud clicking noises, which I assumed was indicative of a failing compressor or relay switch. Turns out all that it was was a clogged internal drain and massive ice buildup as a result. Peter melted all of the ice and defrosted everything. This fixed the suction problem on the freezer door because air could once again flow between top and bottom compartments. Peter also deduced that nothing was wrong with the unit, mechanically. Neither were the seals failing. This Samsung fridge is actually poorly designed, with weak hinges among other things. Also, the whole unit was out of square. (I'll never buy Samsung again.) However, adjusting the left to right leveling forced the door to close better over the opening. The clicking is also gone. Peter said it couldn't be mechanical because all of the internal components were working fine. He suggested maybe it was expanding or settling ice, which makes sense because there was a lot of frozen buildup. Needless to say, I was much happier paying Reparo $200 than I would've been buying a new $800 fridge. Really, really outstanding company. read more

I have a 10 year old LG washer/dryer stack that had some funny smells and was not drying so well anymore. Time for maintenance and cleaning. Peter showed up within the time window, and even updated me on the way when his ETA changed a little bit. He listened to my concerns, opened the machines up, and confirmed the work to do before going further. His price was very reasonable. He cleaned them inside and out, including the dry sensor, the dryer drum rollers, and the insides of the washer door gasket. He also figured out where to reinsert the gasket that had come off my dryer door (though we never did figure out HOW it came off my dryer door!) Visit to diagnose is $50-70 depending which goes towards your estimate but in the end you pay about $270 to replace the most common component the thermostat which is about $100. When I use my washing machine, all the water doesn't go out the drain but some gets on the floor. I was worried that the washer was not working properly. Reparo sent a technician, Peter, the same SUNDAY afternoon. Peter was very nice and thorough. Checked the entire machine carefully, and found the problem was not the washer but instead the years old drainage pipe to the outside. He found where it was leaking. He could not fix the drainage pipe because that was something that needed a plumber. However, I now know what to do. I asked if the company serviced wall air conditioners for a later date, but he showed me how to wash the filter. I now do not have to worry about my washer. For the PROMPT service, the THOROUGH inspection, and the VERY PLEASANT and COMPETENT tech, Peter, I was CHARGED NOTHING. I called on this company twice and in both instances I have gotten an immediate response and more importantly really great service! The tech Aleksei went above and beyond my expectations. My situation with my A/C system was unique....there appeared to be something stuck inside the vent. I would never had known about it if Aleksei hadn't figured it. He had a mini camera attached to flexible rods and was able to take pictures of the curving vent. He came back when I called him a few weeks later when I was ready to break a hole in the wall on the floor above to where he calculated the obstruction to be and he was correct. He climbed through the hole and worked on the problem. Needless to say, he was very diligent and took great pictures to showed me as he progressed through the work that there wasn't an obstruction in the vent but rather the duct had been severed in half and the piece that we saw in the vent was the disconnect. He was able to reattach the duct and reinforce it so that I wouldn't have a problem going forward. The bonus was that the price I paid for all of this work reasonable considering the time and effort he put into getting the root of the problem and fixing it. He is now my AC person going forward for my annual maintenance and any appliance issues I may have!! read more
