I'm from Vegas, so I think the not having A/C in every building thing is a little odd to me but this location was pretty warm upon walking in. It was much cooler outside of the store despite the 89F "heat wave" San Diego was experiencing. Service was quick and the woman who helped us was very nice. A little chaotic trying to get past the group in front of me to place my order so it's a good thing we already knew what we wanted and didn't have to look at flavors inside the case. Floors and overall outside area weren't the cleanest but I watched every step of my cheesecake ice cream with chocolate shavings being made and she had gloves on... took them off when she went to take my payment so I suppose it was okay. Price was expensive compared to Vegas... not sure if that's just California pricing or if it's because it was on Coronado Island? It cost $6.50 for a Like It size... good thing I had a BOGO coupon email or my cousin would be SOL cus I ain't sharing my ice cream :p kidding... Of course the ice cream was good and the service not bad, but OMG it smells like someone took a dump in there. I'm saying it because no one else has written about it. I've been at this location twice in the last month, and it's smelled both times. The first time I thought it was just someone smelly, but once the people started to move around the smell wasn't. I can't understand what the issue is. Like I'm sure they clean every night, but the really need to fix that funk because it's a huge turn off. I don't really understand the low ratings. Cold Stone ice cream is bomb. Sure, there's a long wait in line, but think about it. It's in the middle of the tourist area of Coronado. Just be patient. The ice cream is OK -- not the best out there, but service at this location isn't up to par. Management needs to hire friendlier staff. On one visit, I was quite suspicious of a young female cashier who was slow to return my credit card. Her body language/facial expression suggested she was up to something. When she bent over & was reaching under the counter, I moved to the right of the counter to see what she was doing with my card. She then quickly handed the card back. Absolutely OFFENDED... went into this store tonight, after a lovely day on the island and was greeted by a bubbly girl wearing ponytails in her black hair... as I was about to compliment her, I noticed the black upside down crosses she was wearing as earrings. When I inquired, she laughed and told me it's for Halloween. I said that it is still very offensive to me as a person and the couple behind me said the same. She replied, if I didn't like it someone else could wait on me. I thought, wow, for someone wearing the earrings in the spirit of Halloween she sure seems convicted! In fact, she just walked away and rolled her eyes at me and my friends. The two younger men started to help, but rather reluctantly. First off I didnt even realise there was a Coldstone Creamery in Coronado, up until when my parents visited I hadnt been near the ferry landing port but as I wanted to make sure they could see as much of everywhere as possibly we headed here. We had previously been to Mootime Creamery- I have yet to review that but that will be next. I didnt personally get anything there but I tried someone elses ice cream. I got my usual ice cream at Coldstone. Well thats a lie. I have two favorites, I either get "All Lovin, No Oven" or I get "Birthday Cake Remix". This time around it was a Birthday cake remix. In fact that one normally wins. There were two members of staff behind the counter, one seemed to be milling around doing nothing in particular. The other was having her work cut out as it was really busy. The staff member who was serving didnt seem to want to be there and was pretty rude. However, the ice cream was prepared perfectly (mixed well I mean). If I was writing a review on service it would get 1 star. Visited the cold stone Coronado location and I think this is my favorite cold stone location. The shop itself is small however you can enjoy some ice cream while checking out the surrounding local shops or sit at the tables outside and enjoy a nice ocean view. I just got a scoop of Vanilla ice cream with chocolate chips however I love cold stone because they are the only ice cream shop I have been to where they actually mix the toppings into the ice cream so that you can enjoy the topping with each bite of ice cream. Customer service skills very reminiscent of a popular Seinfeld episode involving soup. The guy behind the counter must have assumed we were part of a larger party that ordered right before us because he immediately shouted "one at a time!" before anyone in our party even started to place our order. If you expect a tip, at least treat your customers with some decency and respect. Instead, we were ushered along and made to place our orders quickly and in a very regimented fashion. WHY IS THIS PLACE CHARGING SALES TAX ON ALL To Go COLD ICE CREAM?? I was there this past weekend, busy Saturday with the typical tourist non-repeat business type crowd. While standing in line, I noticed this establishment was charging CA sales tax on ALL orders. Keep in mind that CA sales tax does not apply any To Go orders that are of non hot food. I am not here to give a lesson on what applies to be taxable and not, but I know what applies and shouldn't. I questioned the staff and they were clueless about it and made me pay a sales tax despite the fact I was not going to consume the food within their establishment. I saw this trend with everyone in line in front of me. They don't even have anywhere to sit inside and have one small table with 3 chairs outside, so that exception does not apply and neither does the 80/80 rule. This place will be brought forth with a class action lawsuit if they continue this practice. Hate this place! read more

Waiting awhile to be served, suddenly a girl comes up to counter and gets served while I'm still waiting. I told the guy he just passed me up to someone who came in after me. Told me I had to wait in line when there wasn't one when I came in. No sign saying where a line is Finally served, told server I'd be back for a double scoop. Came back to order again. She handed me one scoop. Where is my other scoop I ordered? Told me I had to buy another cone to get my second scoop!! $2 more than she first quoted me. Normally it's okay. Lines could get long during summer / weekends but tastes good and usually people are friendly. But don't order online. I ordered cake for my husband's birthday. When I went to pick it up, they didn't even know my order, except the manager looking person. Where do I start? Not only is the ice cream so creamy and delish, the customer service is simply top-shelf! I came in the other day and ordered the gorgeous b-day remix and I was truly left speechless. The way they so gingerly crafted the ice cream with all the toppings was quite impressive, and the taste was like something out of a dream. The staff here is always smiling and I really felt at home. I don't believe I have ever met a more gentle and light-hearted group of guys and gals. I honestly cannot believe some of the other ratings, and it sounds like to me some people need to stop crying about their hurt feelings and grow a pair of balls! Anyway, this place really has it all. Both times I have been to the Cold Stone on Coronado my experiences have both been horrible. 1st off they have got yuppie, finger hair twisting, chatty high school girls working there that don't have one ounce of customer service skills, they will take your order with over flowing attitude and take their sweet a** time scooping and preparing your ice cream, and if they get a call on their cell you might just be waiting longer because of course they can't miss an important call about there important life issues.
