I don't know what people are complaining about. It is a franchise and there was nothing unexpected. We had the Berry Berry Berry Good and it was very very very delicious, especially since we just took a ride around the beach on a four-wheeler bicycle. The service was fast and friendly. I came with my girlfriend and got sweet cream with Oreos. I wasn't expecting much but I wasn't good at all. Oreos seemed stale and old and were probably sitting in the bin for years. My girlfriend got a sorbet and it tasted awful. I know it was sorbet but it was just so icy and clearly was completely artificial. No real fruit just syrup flavoring. We couldn't finish either one. Although the ice cream and signature specials are good, it's vastly over prices for what it is. The service was okay, only problem is the place smelled like poop. My kids had to walk out because they couldn't handle the smell, I had already ordered otherwise I would have left. The employees said it was due to plumbing but were not apologetic. We may have to skip this place till plumbing is fixed. Hopefully we don't get sick!! read more

I am not a super religious person. But I couldn't help but to find offense to the lady in there wearing upside down crosses. When we asked her about it, she laughed and said it was the spirit of Halloween. We told her "that doesn't symbolize Halloween, and you are offending Christianity" she said "Well, if you don't like it, someone else can help you" and had the other employee take our order instead. She can believe whatever she likes, but if you are working in a public area, it's very unprofessional, and disrespectful. On the whole I am a fan of CSC. I've been to their locations all over the States. This one was decidedly subpar and I will not be returning. They had run out of certain popular flavors but did not have refills on hand. They were out of the small size cups AND out of napkins. Cold stone isn't our favorite ice cream place to begin with. But nonetheless we decided to stop by for a quick treat. The costumer service was horrible, all the workers had attitudes, and when we asked if he could put the brownie topping mixed in instead of a whole brownie with ice cream on top the worker said "that's what we do here sir" with a very poor attitude. So, who doesn't love Cold Stone? That amazing ice cream with all the mix in options!!! Great! We've been to this location several times over the years. It's usually a neutral visit. Nothing to write home about. One night, it was close to closing time, about 20 til, and we decided to run over for some ice cream. The guy working was not happy with us at all. He was obviously displeased with us, and just seemed irritated. That wasn't cool. But whatever, maybe it was a long day. I ordered mine with a waffle bowl, because you could smell they had just made them! Mmmmmm. Well. When he got my order ready and handed it to me, I wanted to break off a piece of my waffle bowl. To my surprise, it was super stale. Chewy and bendy and gross. I let him know, and he wrote me off and just didn't give a you-know-what. Basically said too bad. Didn't offer a new one, still charged and just didn't care. Well, fast forward to the next visit. Whole different story. This absolutely darling guy was smiling back at me from behind the counter. He had the best attitude and was sooooooo sooo darling!!!!!! I told him about my waffle bowl mishap, he made sure to get me the FRESHEST one that was made right then!!! He was just so dang sweet!!!! He was there again tonight when I brought my mom in. He was sweet and kind and so wonderful. :) his name us Guillermo. I can't wait to go back next time!!! Busy Sunday afternoon, line was long. As soon as we entered the store and a worker was free, they'd call out over the counter for the next customer. We could not get to the ice cream display because so many people were being helped at the same time, but luckily we all kind of knew what we wanted. We ordered 1 kids ice cream and 3 small ice creams. The Pistachio ice cream was disappointing, just a bunch of greenness, no nuts or remnants of pistachio in there. Otherwise, quick transaction, quick payment, nothing to complain too much about. Hard to justify $20 for that much ice cream, but you only live once, I guess. read more

Cold Stone is seriously the best ice cream around. Always fresh and delicious - you pay a little more but it's totally worth it. The sizes are very generous. I've never had a dessert here I didn't love. read more

I love Cold Stone, so you may be wondering why I am giving only one star. BECAUSE THIS LOCATION SUCKS! Looking at previous reviews, it looks like I am not the only one who thinks so. I am a Coronado resident who has visited this establishment twice in the 3 years Ive lived here. The first time I went they were out of so many basic toppings (no nuts and whipped cream? really? seriously?) and the boys that worked there acted like they were doing us a favor waiting on us. The second time I went to buy an ice cream cake for my son's birthday. I went in for a small cake (which I KNOW they make) but they didn't have any. The girl who worked there rolled her eyes at me and insisted that it is a special order item only and that none of the stores carry them. I went to the Imperial Beach location and bought one the same day. And if I ever get a craving for Cold Stone that is the location I am going to because the Coronado location has left me with a sour taste in my mouth. YUCK! read more

Im next in line and the girl in the counter walks in front of me and just stairs at ice cream for about five seconds then looks to the guy next to me and asks if he's been helped the guys tells her that I was next. I had to tell her what I wanted three times but i guess third times the charm. I orders three cones two were very simple one scoop vanilla kids cone and she looks at me and still asks what kind. My daughter loves cold stone but the one in our area closed recently. She was really excited to have ice cream from cold stone on her birthday today so after we finished dinner we headed down to this cold stone creamery about quarter till nine. It said that the store was open until nine but when we got there the lights were out the door was closed and there were two girls and they were cleaning up It clearly stated that it was open until nine and it was very obviously not 9 o'clock yet and despite requests to serve us, they did not. I do not recommend Supporting this store. We ended up going to the one over in old town where they couldn't have been nicer more friendly and they made me glad we drove over there!!! We had a party of nine and there were three others who wanted to have ice cream when we were at the store and they missed out on all of that business and a very generous tips. I can't imagine the store is going to stay open to much longer the way it's doing business. read more

My boyfriend & I just finished eating these ice cream sandwiches at the Coronado, Ca location & were extremely disappointed. It appears as this item falls under the caregory of "the picture is never what you get". The ad from the street pulled us in: pb& j ice cream in a nutter butter cookie (does it get any better than this?) Unfortunately what the picture showed & what was handed to us were 2 totally different things. The picture depicted ice cream loaded w/fresh PB & "swirls" of jelly along with what appeared to be graham crackers. What I received was "PB & J" ice cream (no toppings, no extras) slapped between 2 nutter butter cookies. I did ask the girl (Christine) about the picture & her response was "we dont do mix ins for ice cream sandwiches. The jelly is already mixed in". I bought the TWO sandwiches assuming she knew what she was talking about. Unfortunately what I got was drab flavorless cookies with just as drab ice cream in the middle. No tangeable taste of PB or jelly. :( Needless to say I was disappointed & wished I would have just gone next door to Burger King & bought a root beer float for half the price! read more

After a day at the beach our girls wanted an ice cream. We made a normal trip to cold stone only to be told that they could not serve us due to food allergies. Our 8 year old daughter is allergic to tree nuts. I expressed the concern, explained to them that we do come to Col Stone often, if they could wash a new serving spoon and not use the marble slab to mix the ice cream we were comfortable.
