I dont care for Coldstone's prices , I feel the quality does not justify the $$.. Nevertheless it was my son's birthday and he wanted the blue ice cream ( Cotton Candy) with gummy bears mixed in. I was well aware of the prices before I went in. My daughter got butter pecan. 2 small cups close to $15 sheesh. sheesh. I had a spoon of the butter pecan and it was sweet , but I didnt see a single nut. She didn't even finsh it. As for my son's his started rapidly melting before we even left the store. Perhaps it was over mixed when they added the gummy bears but it was so runny and dripping, he was mad. Luckily I had a roll of paper towels in the car . The girl at the counter was nice The front of the store has a weird slope at the door. On coming out it's like I little strange drop, not ideal in any circumstance - you can easily drop your overpriced ice cream. They should have that looked at. 10/13/24 I visited the Howard Beach location yesterday around 3:45-3:50. Upon entering I noticed the Grade Pending Health Rating which should've turned me around but it didn't. I had a sweet tooth. I ordered a like it cheese cake w/Two Add ins in a waffle cone. I was told to order & get a waffle cone I must order love it or gotta have it! I replied "not true, this is my staple order and have never been told this". He continued to place my order as requested. It is then that I requested he wear gloves as he was peeling my banana with his bear hands. He obliged, but the interaction made me feel very uncomfortable. I was so thrown off I forgot to mention my points. This is not the first time , I wasn't asked about my points at this location. The last time he just ( same guy) just laughed and said next time say it before you pay. This will be the last time I visit this location. I see why there are so many bad reviews. I went to get two ice creams. I added a red velvet waffle bowl and a waffle cone for my son. I was going to order it but decided I'll just go there. Online to order it through the cold stone app the red velvet ice cream bowl or cone is 79 cents. They ring me up it's 1.99. So i question the cashier, like hey it says it's 79 cents online. We charge a different price in store he tells me. Then starts getting loud and telling me i should of asked about the price before i ordered it. Why would i ask the price before i order it if i was ordering the same exact ice cream combination thru your store app. This is the cold stone app i was placing the order from not uber eats, door dash or grub hub. But the cold stone app, You can have it delivered or pick it up in store. So i said I'll place the order from the app, he tells me ok, then tells me seconds later you can't do that. I can't void it out. Now at this point I'm getting irritated because I worked at cold stone in the past at a different location in Queens. You can void things out, you can cancel your order. So because i questioned the price your going to try to force me to buy it. Even if you make a ice cream creation and the person doesn't like it. Your suppose to say ok, take the order back. It's a lost to the company for the day. Instead he's telling me so who's going to eat this and so on. I never took the ice cream in the waffle bowl the company is going to eat it. I haven't had it in years and the lil parking lot they have is clutch. Anyway it's very busy suddenly when we walk in and they were like 3 of 4 employees working hard. One takes my order I was recording it having fun. I got a classic peanut butter something. And my son gets plain with only marshmallows. Again thrilled got extra whip whatever. When we get in the car my son says they don't know how to make plain. I was surprised to see that they spoon or the table they used to mix with was still covered in the icecream from last orders mixed into his vanilla. Had he had a peanut allergy we would have been finished. I am a food allergy sufferer and I was like what? They can't be making mistakes like that. I really hate leaving poor reviews but i just feel like it needs to be heard. Im a huge fan of the coldstone chains however this location in particular is not so great. First off- the wait is almost at least 30-40 mins after 5pm. (Ridic) granted they take their time and accommodate for each persons order but maybe if they had more staff on the floor it would be better. Secondly, this location has a terrible odor. I know it sounds bad, but being honest no matter how harsh it sounds. I got so turned off i was in line for about 20 mins and just walked out last night (12.30) because the odor was making me feel beyond nauseous. Dont know if its because it smelled like mop water mixed with spoilt milk or whatever the case may be. But i couldnt take it. I have however been to this location previous times before but always find myself wanting to avoid the long wait & odor. Almost any Cold Stone location Ive been to is decent at the very least, as the great taste demands respect. It's a Hit or Miss as far as how much staff is on deck at a given time, as Ive seen a few reviews complain about the lack of staff, but Ive personally seen as few as 2, and as much as 6. How crowded it gets is also a hit or miss, and that being said, I would think you cant have a full crew staff when the store isnt always packed. ..but regardless of how many are working on a given day, Ive never had any personality issues. They take there time with each person, as I would want when it's my turn, and we've all seen how it takes time to make your order, as it's not the typical Scoop n Drop. read more

Yes, this place is very slow, for some strange reason they never have enough people behind the counter to prepare your order, but hey what can you do? The heart wants what it wants,so i'll wait. They have their good days, give them chance. My favorite signature flavor is the Birthday Cake remix. It has Sweet cream ice cream, brownie chunks, and sprinkles. When I'm feeling really excited, I add walnuts or almonds. I must admit I'm to comfortable with that flavor. I must try to branch out and explore the menu more. The bathroom NEVER WORKS. It has been over a year now, and every time I come in, that "Sorry no bathroom" sign is staring me in my face. That's crazy. I don't see how management still hasn't gotten around to fixing it. I haven't been in this store in a few years. Not really much of an ice cream fan but, I stopped in this week because Groupon was offering 20% instant cash back. Since I was taking it home I ordered a quart of ice cream for the family to enjoy. There was one worker in the store and I was lucky to be 3rd in line. The worker was very pleasant, knowledgable and efficient. I told him I had a coupon from Groupon as we arrived at the register. I showed him my phone and he told me his store was having a problem with the Groupon. (It wasn't working) He must have seen the disappointment on my face and offered me a store discount instead for my troubles. It's not often that would happened and I accepted his offer and thanked him. This store has just made a better customer out of me and I intend to give them more business. Although it still took me awhile to place my order I can't put blame on the workers in the store because one customer changed his mind twice and the next customer was taking office orders over the phone and asked tons of questions. The only time that I go to this Coldstone location is when I'm on my way home from work. The lines are usually long and the temperature of the ice cream is not to my liking. The ice cream is always too soft which means that you might end up with a milkshake by time you make it home if you don't start eating it immediately after purchase. After hearing so much about this place, I finally had the opportunity to go a couple of months ago for the first time ever. I left there completely satisfied! My favorite is one of their signature creations called 'Cheesecake Fantasy'. It's cheesecake ice cream with graham cracker pie crust, blueberries and strawberries...YUM! I usually love cold stone because the ice cream is solid along with the mix-ins. I hate this one though. The ice cream options are limited by the amount of flavors the people who work there decide to change out their empty bins. I came here and noticed that more than half of their flavors were empty. That already limits the selection of ice cream flavors that you're able to get. The workers move SO SLOW. Like turtles. Like slower than turtles. It's such a small shop that when there's like three people waiting in line the entire area feels packed, and this is worsened by the extremely slow service. All you have to do is put mix-ins into ice cream and put it in a cup. Yet it takes at least 30 minutes to be served. read more

Cold Stone hasn't really been on my cravings list but they may get a corner now. I decided to pick up a birthday cake for my sister (she likes ice cream cakes). They had quite a big variety in flavors and sizes. One thing about the ice cream cakes you should be aware of; their pricey. The smallest size was $25.99, it would only be 5 of us having cake so I figured that would be fine. The staff was really nice and helpful, they may not be as nice when ice cream season is around, LOL. While there, why not get some ice cream too! My picks were the butter pecan with the cake batter in a Like it size and my choice of mix in was waffle cone. I couldn't be happier with my pick! In the past I wasn't much of a Cold Stone fan because I felt the ice cream was too hard (I'm particular about ice cream), this time the consistency was right. For someone like myself who has a severe food allergy to nuts and needs to let the store know about this, it's beyond frustrating when no one at the store picks up the phone. There is nowhere on UberEats to let the store know of the food allergy either. I've called the store 7 times and not one time did someone answer! DO NOT PLACE AN ORDER ONLINE FOR A CUSTOM BIRTHDAY CAKE. THEY DO NOT GET THEIR ORDERS. We placed an order for a custom birthday cake for our sons 12th birthday. We wanted it to be special and so we took the time to make it specific to his taste. We paid with a credit card (a little under 50 bucks) for a small cake that was supposed to be ready in 24 hours. Once I showed up to pick up my cake the staff was confused and obviously .... no cake. They shuffled around for a good 10 minutes trying to look for my order and then finally admitting that they never received the order. (Or whoever was supposed to check the emails never did) The only reason I am giving them 1 star is because the girl who tried to help me was very apologetic and understanding. She gets the star. She did everything she could to make my cake as close as possible in like 30 minutes. She scrambled and tried her best to fix this problem but unfortunately the cake she made melted and my son didn't end up getting the cake we ordered. I don't want to say his birthday was ruined but it was sans the perfect cake we ordered from what used to be a reputable ice cream shop. We tried to get a refund but they will fight you tooth and nail, make you jump through hoops and you still have to wait for them to contact you just to get your money back. Like they don't want to give you your money back. It's real simple. We didn't get the product we paid for on time and we want our money back. We spoke to corporate and they were unapologetic and didn't show an ounce of consideration that it was our sons birthday. Came here on a Wednesday night at about 9, an hour before closing. The line was very long. At one point it was literally out of the door. Of course there were only 2 people serving ice cream. It was a long ways up to the front of the line. I was on line for half hour. The two workers pretty much went nonstop to serve all the customers. There was no experience associated with this visit at all. But we got everything we came for, got it to go in a bag and got outta there.
