    COVID-19 storefront!

Yes it's a bit pricey, but we keep going back to Coldstone's every once in a while. I think Coldstone's has a special place in the hearts of many Americans in my particular generation. I honestly wouldn't do Coldstone's if it was just me because I never went to one when I was younger, but my husband has occasional cravings for their ice cream and that's when we google where the closest location is. I prefer this location over the other one on Pico because this one has a parking lot (I kind of have an aversion to street parking). The nice server suggested we keep the cone cup separate from the ice cream and we appreciated that thought. The experience isn't the same now that there are COVID-19 regulations put in place, but the ice cream made it home just fine and we enjoyed it. Thank you for the great service and thank you for being open for people like us!

Haven't been to Cold Stone Creamery in years, so I decided to stop by earlier and use a BOGO coupon. Ines was really nice and went out of her way to make sure we were happy. This is what I'm talking about, there are so many businesses to choose from EVERYWHERE but what sets certain establishments apart is customer service.

Baskin Robins will be my new go to. ONE little scoop= $7.80. Unbelievable!

I love me some tossed together sweet stuff but... $8 for a small ONE scoop? REALLY?? Does this ice cream have gold flakes in it? If you dig around in it enough will you find a diamond ring? Most likely not. I hadnt been to Cold Stone in at least 2 years and dont remember it being so outragesouly priced. Granted, it IS the bomb but nine bucks for a SMALL cup of dessert is not something that makes sense at this point in time. Once they had given me the ice cream and the total, I wanted to say, "Nevermind" but decided not to be a terd since it was already made. SMH.

Insanely rich, fudgy, and decadent without being overly sweet. An absolute chocolate lover's dream. The carrot cake was super moist with great spice and texture, and the cream cheese frosting was perfect. The Basque cheesecake had a beautiful burnt top with an ultra creamy center that disappeared fast. The honey cake was subtle, elegant, and the kind of dessert that grows on you more with every bite. You can really taste the care and craftsmanship in everything. These felt like restaurant quality desserts made by someone who genuinely loves baking. We will definitely be ordering again.

The menu is pretty extensive for such a small place so we had a tough time deciding. We had the yummy tuna melt on rye and some Miss Vicki's BBQ chips. We brought home the chocolate chip cookie which was very good, and possibly the best vanilla cookie that I have ever had, rivaling any Dutch bakery! I'm definitely going back to try other menu iteams and to buy more vamilla cookies. Another plus-the patio in the back is charming!

That's when I know that they really were refined sugar and grain free. Last weekend I had the opportunity to actually visit their storefront and it was everything I expected and more. Food: All baked goods are refined sugar-free, grain-free, dairy-free AND genuinely delicious. Their drink menu is reasonably priced for the quality - the hot chocolate was particularly good. The alternative ingredients don't compromise taste; if anything, these treats taste better than conventional options. Location/Vibe: Located in Pacific Palisades, the space is clean and well-designed with a very cozy vibe throughout. Not just a single "instgrammable wall", every detail was on-point. Perfect for anything from a quick coffee run to a leisurely afternoon tea. The atmosphere is calm and welcoming, making it an ideal spot for small gatherings or a peaceful break. Service: Staff is attentive and accommodating. The barista willingly adjusted my daughter's hot chocolate temperature, showing thoughtful attention to detail. Counter service is efficient and knowledgeable about their products. Parking: Available in the palisades structure. First hour is $5. Will return to try more items from their menu. A solid option for anyone seeking high-quality baked goods, especially those with dietary restrictions.

I've always wanted to try the baked goods from this shop because the store looked so cute and pink, just like my personality! I was surprised when I noticed that the cake didn't have frosting. Isn't that a staple to having cake? I also noticed that it didn't have much flavor. I mean I wasn't quite sure what the flavor was. Was it lemon? Vanilla? I just haven't seen even a gluten/dairy-free bakery that would have these characteristics. Maybe their tea selection is better?

I was so disappointed, and on top of that, I had just spent the three days prior to my birthday dealing with backyard flooding because the drains were clogged. Things happen for a reason because all of the above mentioned events led to how I ran across Vienna Pastry! I read the reviews on yelp and I saw that they had beautiful photos of their cakes, so I ordered one regular sized Black Forest cake, and three of the mini black forest cakes. I figured if the regular size wasn't available, at least I could still get my yearly Black Forest fix in! I was pleasantly surprised when my order was delivered quickly to me, and still cold! The cake is GORGEOUS and when I cut into it, the layers were perfectly layered and so DELICIOUS. Not only that, my order arrived with a hand written note and some cookies thrown in. I am so grateful for Vienna Pastry for making my birthday special! I didn't get a photo of the minis, but those were just as beautiful and perfect. I will definitely be ordering from Vienna Pastry again in the future!

Seems simple right? Ralph's on Bundy said they don't have a decorator. Ralph's on Olympic said their cake machine is broken. Susie Cakes said they couldn't make a cake from cupcakes. Cakes.com took the order and then sent a cancellation email 2 days later. So, going to yelp and seeing so many good reviews for Star Bakery we tried them. Walking in the place doesn't look like much, it's kinda small in front and not fancy. I told them what I wanted and they said "no problem". Really friendly person helping us at the counter and then a really helpful decorator who refined the order via text messages the next day. They gave me a price which I thought was very high but I admit I don't really know what these things should cost. All I know is it was quite a bit more than Cakes.com who cancelled my order via email so I'll never try to use them again. (Or Ralph's for that matter) Here is the best part: The end result not only looked better than I had anticipated but the quality and taste was incredible. Honestly the best tasting cupcakes I've ever had. And it wasn't just me who said how good they were; everyone at the birthday party loved them. The whole experience with Star Bakery was an epic success and I am so delighted they are in my neighborhood. Finally, I should mention Star isn't expensive across the board. They had some beautiful looking tarts in the refrigerated case that were very reasonably priced. They will give you a price for a custom cake up front and if you say yes, be assured it will be a top quality cake.
