Colorado Frame Tek felt like I stepped back in time in both looks & service. Everyone was greeted in a friendly way. Antonio the owner, (I presumed) waited on many of us at once, it was busy. He was quite fast & efficient. This no frills eyeglass repair shop had a small lobby but there were many places to sit. Also, I had no problem finding a parking spot on the street. Here you wait while your eyeglasses are being fixed. There is no option to drop off & return. I went here as a recommendation by not only one but two reputable optical businesses to repair my broken off arm piece. I arrived mid morning & was told my eyeglasses could be repaired for $49.99. Can't say enough wonderful things about this small eyeglass repair shop! I dropped my glasses and broke the frame (not the lens). My wonderful husband did his best to try and fix my glasses but eventually they broke again. I read great reviews on Yelp and decided to bring them here. Its a very small shop on Broadway in Englewood. We walked in, showed Tony my glasses and it only took him about 5-8 minutes to repair them expertly. He refused payment for his service but my husband insisted he take a small tip. On the wall there were many cards and letters thanking Tony for his work. Most mentioned that he refused payment. And there was a letter from St. Jude's Children's Hospital acknowledging his contributions. He's obviously a wonderful, caring person. The ABSOLUTE BEST!!! If I could give him 10 stars I would. We had two pair of expensive glasses in need of repair. We had taken them to several different places, and no one could fix them. One was very expensive Prada sunglasses that were missing a screw, and only the screws held in the lens on to the frame, and the other were pair of Maui Jim, and although they were titanium, the arm was bent back so the hinge needed repair or they would not stay on close to the ear. Tony was able to fix both problems in less than 10 to 15 minutes. Now both glasses fit perfectly and we can use them again. Thank you Tony for such amazing quick service. This guy Tony is an absolute local treasure, in at least 800 miles in every direction; The End. Go see him ASAP for every pair of eyeglass frames you own which can possibly be fixed by him, before he retires and you're totally SOL out of luck. One of the last remaining handful of an incredibly uncommon type of business/owner, who is not only an exceptionally gifted and skilled artisan, offering  unusual services which are almost impossible to find (so much so, I would bet 99% of people under 30 wouldn't even imagine such a business exists!!). Yet, here he is, delivering a crazy-rare kind of personalized service and incredible value that just doesn't exist much in America anymore, what with all the dominance of the chain store model and behemoths like Amazon et al. Go support local businesses offering valuable services like this one. Whether it's a favorite pair of irreplaceable frames you love, or a minor repair that keeps stuff out of the landfills and avoids wasted money; We're lucky he's around doing these esoteric type of repairs (he even has a laser welder in house for doing tiny welds on metal like titanium and stainless!), and God willing for a very long time to come! It's not scalable, nor massively profitable. Amazon and Wal-Mart or Lens Crafters etc. are incapable of serving this need for high quality repairs of eyeglasses. Soon there will likely be no more like him. And yet another valuable tradecraft will be lost to antiquity, by way of our obsessive march towards giant consolidated retailers and thinking of everything as disposable goods. This guy is a legend and people like him. We are better off in so many ways when we have local craftsmen who do necessary by small things at a gpod price and with top notch quality. I needed have some glue removed from one if the nose pad holders and CFT was recommended by my optician. "Easy fix..." I was told. The gentleman fixed that issue but in the process he scratched one of the lenses on the reading portion with a drill bit. When pressed about it, he didn't take any responsibility for his mistake and now I need to replace BOTH lenses (you can't replace just one), with a 6 week ETA due to the type of lenses I have coupled with having to change how I use the glasses to read anything. I would not recommend this business to anyone due to this blatant disregard for his mistake. read more
