We came there on a Wednesday night for dinner and got seated within 15 mins as there was a decent crowd. There's not too much to the ambiance other than a country feel. The staff was super nice especially our waitress but unfortunately I forgot her name to call her out. We ordered the fried pickle appetizer which was good. Their bread is probably the best part of the meal. That came out pretty fast. I ordered a 9 oz sirloin medium well and my date ordered the chicken sandwich. We didn't mind because we were able to talk but our food took almost 45 mins to come out which would normally be unacceptable but again we didn't mind chatting. Our waitress was super nice and kept apologizing for the wait. When it finally came out, the steak was good but it was slightly over cooked than medium well and my sweet potato fries were a bit soggy, but that may have been from some of the steak juice. My date thought the focaccia bread was too hard so she took it off from her chicken sandwich and basically just ate the chicken. The prices were ok. Pretty good. They served warm bread, butter and syrup for an "appetizer" and the bread was soft and warm like it just came out of the oven. Very delicious The meal, which I ordered tilapia (gravy on top), shrimp (2), and for the side mixed veggies. Pretty good portion on tilapia! We also got the onion bloom which was greasy.. but it was fried so not much you can do there. Still good nonetheless. I also ordered a (alcohol) drink, which to be honest.. I called to make sure that they're done in was open. Google said it was closed. Ordered the nachos for the appetizer - super hot! Melted cheese! Excellent flavor. Children ordered the Burgers and fries. All very good! Wasn't burnt or anything! Very flavorful. Ordered the pork chops for myself. The menu stated they were center cut pork chops, however, after receiving them, they were not. I was told by the server that they were changed to bone in Pork chops. A little more bone and fat then I'd prefer to have, BUT, it did not disappoint when it came to texture/flavor. The raspberry sauce that it comes with is the bomb!! My husband and I pulled into town and needed some dinner. The restaurant was not very full. We sat at the bar so we could stand after such a long ride. After our server Cory provided a sample, I ordered a local brew on tap (Piney River Company Walnut Wheat) and enjoyed it immensely. I ordered the steak tips with fried okra and a baked sweet potato. The Hubs had naked pork ribs and french fries (as I recall). The fried okra was well-prepared but lacked seasoning. The baked sweet potato had been on the steam table a bit too long and arrived warm, but not hot. The steak was tasty, but there wasn't much on the plate. I was thrilled to find this non-fast food option while passing through the Midwest, and even happier to discover that the menu included several options that suited our healthier-eating preferences. I had grilled salmon and mixed veggies. The salmon was seasoned and cooked just-right, and the veggies were fresh and cooked to my taste (not too crisp, but not mushy). I passed on the rice it came with. Our kids had juicy grilled chicken and fresh green beans; a VERY generous portion for a childrens' menu option. My husband was very happy with his steak, potato and green beans. We did indulge in the Tanglers appetizer (fried onion strings). They were worth it. Pros: 1. Their St Louis style ribs were very good. Tender with quite a bit of flavor. 2. The inside decor was Texas ranch style which was nice. Cons: 1. Terrible draft beer selection. They had 4 beer on tap, blue moon, bud light, budweiser, and samuel adams. No small craft beer on tap (of which there is a local brewery in town). 2. The catfish was awful. Breading was not good. This was supposed to be a part of a signature dish too! 3. The sweet potato fries were undercooked in my opinion. They were on the mushy side. 4. Their patio faces the road instead of the view of the hills toward the north. Not an ideal situation in my opinion but likely could have been obtained with more planning. All in all, I'd recommend seeking out better places to spend a nice evening. read more

Stayng a night passing thru town so we weren't sure where to go. Cara at the front desk of Hampton Inn recommended Colton's so that's where we went. Its a clean, cozy, western decor steakhouse similar to Texas Roadhouse. No frills. Wife and I both ordered bacon cheeseburgers and salads. Both were cooked to order, delivered on a hit plate, with crispy toasted buns. (Who doesn't like toasty buns!?) Allow me to set the scene. It's fall. The weather is getting colder. It's not particularly busy and the AC is on full blast. It's colder inside than it is outside and we're seated right beneath the vent. We had an older gentleman serving us. Didn't give us his name. We order food and stuff. He decides to tell me as he walks away that eggs help us absorb vitamin E, even though I've asked for my salad without. I don't understand why he'd bother, but I'm polite. I order a water and a Mr Pibb. I got a Pepsi. I downed the water, deciding to let the Pepsi go, and then he offered me a refill. The refill tastes like sewer water. How? This isn't the first time, and usually I can just not drink for the rest of the meal, but it's gross. The rolls arrive. They've gotten chewy. Somehow. The recipe changed, maybe? Idk. Not worth it, to be honest. We finally get the food after an unusually long time despite the fact that it's not busy at all. I'm not too fussed, because I understand the grind. But I'm too cold to eat all my salad. I'm wearing a thermal hoody and pants, dressed for Fall, and I'm too cold to eat. We ask for the check and a box. He asks if I want a bag for the food. I say that it's okay. We don't need a bag. And he says the food will try to escape. As he walks away, again, he says it's bad for the upholstery of the car. Again, I don't understand but I don't say anything. On his return with the check, he rushes to set the check in front of me, he knocks the fork off my plate and it falls in my lap and onto the floor. I've got Caesar dressing on my pants, but I tell him it's fine. I don't need him fussing over me, the experience is bad enough lol. This was my favorite place to eat, here. I always order the same thing. But the water is bad now. The rolls are chewy now. Hmmmm well 4 of us stopped in at Colton's in Rolla to get a steak for a late lunch and two of us ordered Hawaiian ribeyes , after about five minutes the waitress came back and said they were out of the Hawaiian rib eye so I asked since they were out if they would give us the next steak up on the menu for the same price as the Hawaiian which was just a dollar higher and the rude manager came out and said no that that wasn't gonna happen and that it was our choice to order the Hawaiian sooooo I told her us eating there wasn't gonna happen either so over two bucks she lost out on our order being around 150 bucks -- drove down the road and had an awesome steak at Matt's steakhouse and had awesome service, def will go back to Matt's Steakhouse but Colton's lost out on any future business from us read more

We came here for dinner and first, understand that this is your basic Texas Roadhouse/Logans type restaurant. Yummy yeast rolls. Peanuts, the whole shebang. The con: their beer menu is wrong on paper and they don't have a very good selection. The pros: first, the service was great. Our server- I think his name was Mike was so friendly without being fake. He was attentive but didn't overdo it. Everything was brought out in good timing- appetizer, then salads, and enough time to finish salads before the entrees. The food was VERY good. Our waitress Michele was delightful (very friendly but not intrusive). They have a an extensive menu with reasonable prices. The food was delicious & the portions were generous. My husband left his jacket in the booth & Michele came running out to our car with the jacket...calling my husband by his name. How many waitress ever look at the name on your credit card?
