My friend has been raving about this place as it's her favorite restaurant, so of course I had to try. I ordered the 1905 Salad which comes with ham, and it was delicious. The lettuce is super fresh and the dressing was the real highlight of the dish. The only thing I would've changed was the service as it was a bit slow that we ended up being at the restaurant for over 2 hours when ordering just the salad. If you're looking for a lovely atmosphere and delicious, authentic Spanish food, look no further! We started with the Croquetas de Pollo, at our server's recommendation. They were delicious! A little small for 6 for $10, but they were full of flavor. We had to ask for the hot sauce that it says they come with, but it was worth the wait as it was so tasty! We also received house bread, which helped tide us over as we waited for our main courses. For our main courses, we had the Original Cuban Sandwich, 1905 Salad with Turkey and Roma Vieja. The Original Cuban Sandwich is HUGE and super flavorful! It comes with plantain chips, and they were absolutely delicious. The 1905 Salad with Turkey is made tableside and is very unique! It's one of my favorite salads and is pretty huge, but great for lunch. The Ropa Vieja was really good too, though I found the yellow rice to be a bit flavorless. My husband, who had the Ropa Vieja, would probably opt for the sandwich next time. The bread pudding we ended our meal with was super delicious-- I would 100000% order it again. Our server was nice, but unfortunately our drinks constantly sat empty and it took us about 2 hours to get through lunch. We also didn't see him around so couldn't ask for help, either. Luckily we didn't have anywhere to get to, but we weren't expecting things to take so long. We had a great dinner at Columbia Restaurant in Celebration, Florida. A big plus is the free, convenient parking nearby, which made getting to and from the restaurant easy. The restaurant's right in the heart of downtown Celebration, so after dinner we took a nice walk around the lake. The place itself is really colorful and bright, with lots of seating options. It was pretty warm out, so we sat inside, but they also have a big covered patio and a couple of bars. There's even a retail area if you want to shop around. I ordered the palomilla steak dinner. I really liked the seasoning/onions and the sides (plantains and rice were great), but the steak itself wasn't quite as good as I've had at some other similar spots. Still tasty though. Overall, I'd give it about 4.5 stars, but I'd round up because the location is beautiful and the service from John G. was excellent...friendly and attentive. Pricing was about $45 per person for two entrees, two iced teas, and a shared appetizer, which felt fair for the experience. read more

Was here tonight after a wedding with a party of 16 including 3 kids. I can't say enough about Columbia. They even accommodated the wedding cake @ 11:00 am & held it for our 5:00 reservation in their freezer. Their service was so above & beyond. Adriana & Alieta were amazing. The food? This restaurant was very busy for a Tuesday night. It's right off the main road and we came in around 5pm. By the time we left, there were quite a few people waiting for a table. The ambience of the restaurant gives upscale vibes and fine dining experience. Our waitress however, wasn't the most friendly. For starters, once we got our drinks, she asked if we were ready to order. As we began to order, she asked each of us if we wanted to order an appetizer. There were only 5 of us at the table. By the time she got to the 3rd person and each person before had declined ordering an appetizer, you would think she would get the hint. But nonetheless, continued to ask. I found that to be a little pushy and excessive. For appetizers, they bring out individually wrapped warm bread loafs. The bread was French bread and was a good starter if you didn't order any appetizers like us. For entrees, my husband ordered the salmon stuffed with crab meat and I ordered the paella a La Valencia. The paella comes of in the cast iron pan that it is cooked in. Once it arrives at the table, it is plated before being given to you. The paella was cooked perfectly and I thought that it had a good amount of seafood in it for the price. The salmon that my husband ordered was also very good and tasty. However, my brother in law ordered the salmon with chimichurri sauce and we thought that the flavor profile on that meal was better. We came here with a group from work. The restaurant was quiet when we walked in but everyone was very receptive when arriving. We ordered the pitcher of Mojito, which was freshly made table-side and was so delicious!! Another in our group ordered the Andilusian Spritz (not sure if that was spelled correctly) but was made with fresh mashed strawberries and basil with titos vodka. Also liked very much. The table ordered a variety of items, including the famous salad made table side as well. Would recommend doing the shrimp vs. the ham or turkey as overall that was more favorable. The crab stuffed grouper was also ordered and liked. The side of the night was the snap peas so so yummy!! The yellow rice was also nicely cooked. The crab stuffed shrimp was also very good. Well... does Orlando have good Key Lime Pie? Yelp... Even better is that Columbia Restaurant is known to have one of the best Key Lime Pies in the state! That specific original restaurant is located close to Tampa but fortunately there is a branch here in Orlando! Goodie GOODIE! Let's go there!! Yelp directions are on point. No dedicated parking for the restaurant that we could see, but luckily scored a spot on the street close enough that the brutal humidity wasn't too bothersome for the short walk there. Dark wood inside gives off this classy look within the dining area. LISSA was the one who took care of us during our visit and she was EXCEPTIONAL! Patient, kind, informative, and attentive! The olives, which doesn't really exist in Filipino dishes, add a different complexity to the dish. Went great with the white rice here! Yummy meal. MAHI-MAHI CUBANA: The baby likes tuna sandwiches after a tournament day of Volleyball. It's like his comfort food. So he's looking at the "Sandwiches" area and asks, "Excuse me, Pop. What's Mahi Mahi?" "It's a fish, Son. Supposedly BETTER than tuna." That piqued his interest and it DID NOT disappoint! The fish is seasoned deliciously and not overcooked. We visited this restaurant on the recommendation of a new friend. So we went. The area where this restaurant is just gorgeous, in front of it, is a park with a huge pond and a fountain. Very serene. The restaurant has strong Spanish/Cuban roots, and that is reflected in the food and decor. The menu and small shop are all about that. Our server further added to the ambiance, Jow was from Venezuela. The dishes we chose were fantastic, they had a lunch special which my husband chose. It was called a Mojo Chicken Sandwich. The roll was so fresh. It has a marinated chicken breast that is chargrilled, melted Swiss cheese, and piquillo peppers ( these are not hot) , lettuce and tomato, and finally aioli sauce on Cuban bread. Side of plantain chips. My lunch was the Pollo Manchego. It was a boneless chicken breast that was breaded with Cuban bread crumbs and grated Manchego cheese. I'm not sure if it was baked or fried. Either way, it was delicious. On top of this was a bright citrus sauce, lots of flavor. This was seated on a bed of yellow rice cooked in chicken stock and tender onion pieces. A true delight. Both meals came with a large half loaf of warm, crispy crust Cuban bread, accompanied by butter. We really enjoyed it and could not leave it alone. Our server, Jow, was perfect. I'm Cuban and get to the Columbia twice a year. I usually enjoy it, but this time was a big disappointment. I ordered Bistec Palomilla and my food arrived barely warmer than room temperature. To his credit, my server went into DEFCON 5 mode by clearing everything quickly and bringing a hot plate of food a few minutes later. I appreciated his work, but... the food was surprisingly mediocre. Not sure what happened, but this meal experience was subpar. This was my first time coming here. I wanted something different and I was looking through Yelp and stumbled upon this place. This a true gem! It's located about 20 minutes from Orlando and is well worth the drive. I recommend making a reservation because it fills up quickly and stays busy. John was my server and he gave me a little history about the restaurant and how they prepare their dishes. I took his recommendations and here is what I decided on. I started off with the chorizo espanola. This fresh in house made chorizo with sautéed onions. The surprise was the homemade cracker that came with it. This could be a dish instead of an appetizer. I had to stop eating this so I could enjoy the rest of the menu. My entree was the pollo manchego. Wow, this is a house special and I can see why. The chicken had so much flavor and was so tender. The vegetables were perfect and had just the right crunch. The rice was delicious also and was much needed to help absorb the sauce from the chicken.I wanted to make sure I ate it all! For dessert, they have white chocolate bread pudding. This is one of the best bread puddings I have ever had. I would say it's in my top three of all time. It was filled with sweet flavors and then topped with a delicious sauce that I asked for more of. I also had an espresso martini to help my dessert go over the top. We love Columbia. The food is always cooked perfectly and is very flavorful. We have been to Columbia in celebrations a lot. We love it so much we drive up from Port St. Lucie just to eat there. This time we met our cousins who live near Ocala. It is the halfway point for both of us. They had never been there before. Three of us had palomilla steak with yellow rice and plantains. The other one ordered Vaca Frita(?). We also ordered the 1905 salad. My cousin was so impressed with the salad she bought 4 bottles of dressing to take home. They lived the food. They liked the way the restaurant was decorated with old family pictures and pictures of the original Columbia in Ybor City. They have covered patio seating in the front and back. We love the patio seating but It was too chilly to eat outside. We decided to meet again next month. read more

When my mother visited she loves Latin food, so it was an easy choice to visit Columbia in Celebration. We were blown away at the decor, the atmosphere, the menu and the staff were all lovely. A shout out especially to Deion, he was funny, charming and very knowledgeable. Deion gave us many recommendations and we loved them all, the table side cocktail service was impressive and a really good deal for the amount of alcohol we got to share.
