If you live around this area and you don't know this place then shame on you! This little Korean eatery is inside the market world with minimal seating. They're known for their Shaq-size dumplings. The dumplings are not only big, they taste pretty darn good. It'll satisfy your dumpling craving for sure. The ratio of skin to filling is just right. Perfect place for a quick lunch, to go or eat in. For less than $7 you leave with 6 of them stomach-stuffers and a happy camper. Fried king dumplings are also good but it's a buck extra and you only get 5 of those mouth-fillers. Not the ideal place for a romantic first date though, you'll be dealing with busy cashier who will help you when she's done with other stuff and semi-aggro attitude. Being that it's inside the Hannam supermarket, Combo House is not the neatest nor most convenient place you can get your Korean food fix but there's no denying that the food is delicious and generously portioned. I love coming here for the large king dumplings (LOVE the chili soy dipping sauce it comes with) and giant bowl of black bean sauce noodles (ja jang myun) and while it's not the best variation of those foods I've ever had, they are certainly the most comfortable if that makes any sense. While the people running the place come with a lot of raw nerves and you're more than likely to be seated at either a small table or at a stand, I still think Combo House is a worthwhile establishment to visit if you want a simple and reliable Korean food dining experience. read more

Their jjajangmyun and wang mandu (6 pieces) for $13.03 is pretty good. With the kimchi and the danmuji (bright yellow picked radish) added to it, was filling. There was also ear nipple flakes all over her hair, it looked like dandruff. I saw flakes coming down like it was snowing every time she touched her ears. So gross. 2. I expected her to was her hands, but no. I then observed her leaning over all the clean plates, bowls, utensils, etc. while having a conversation with her friend. She also had her fingers in her mouth. Really gross. 3. While eating, I see her and her friend staring at me (I knew they were talking smack) because I know the girl hates me, probably because I'm Chinese, but I hear she's like that to my Korean friend too. She just has a bad attitude overall, it makes me not want to leave tips, but I really want to give tips to the kitchen people. I really dislike her and will not come back as long as she's working. I even told my whole family and friends not to eat there if she's working. I'm not being dramatic, if you saw and experienced half the things I did today, you wouldn't come back either. Just saying. They have ramen and other noodle soups and of course dumplings. I ordered the King dumplings and they serve it with kimchi, pickled radish, and a sauce dish that had some chopped green chili peppers to make your dipping sauce. The dumplings were huge! The dumplings had a ton of meat and they were so big, it was actually easier for me to eat the dumplings with a spoon. I was wondering why they gave me a spoon even though I didn't have any soup. Instead of dipping, I ended up scooping up sauce and pouring it on top of the dumpling before taking a bite. Dumpling are pretty tasty, it's mostly meat with a a little bit of veggies. Another one of my places on my lunch rotation. This is a place I went to once a week for a year.. but these days, I'm cutting down to save some money. I've eaten just about everything on the menu multiple times. There are a couple dishes that really stand out here 1. Jajungmyun (Black bean noodle) 2. Janpon (Spicy Seafood Noodle soup) 3. Wang Mandu (King Dumplings) 80% of ppl who go there order these items. there are other items that are extremely good and less ordered such as the Beef noodle soup (written in Chinese and Korean only) and the Combo boxes (I usually get the shrimp and chicken). Sushi, rolls, udon, beef bowls, soba.. those are infrequently ordered, espeically the sushi and rolls. The cold noodles with the spicy raw fish is another very infrequently odered dish (it's written in Korean only). The mongolian dishes, jopchae, those get ordered once in a while. You can also order a Yakimandu (fried dumpling) that is not listed on the menu. Their janpon and beef noodle soups are very good. Very flavorful broth with very good quality control. No matter who is cooking, the quality control is very good and repeatable from day to day. They do have hiccups, but overall, it's very repeatable. Their jajangmyun is korean style and not chinese style. Their black bean sauce is not greasy at all. it's flavorful with onions, potatoes and a bit of pork served on yellow noodles. it's served with a bowl of miso broth. the janpon is a winner and probably tied to be the number one selling dish there with jajangmyun. They take onions, squid, mussel and shrimp and stirfry it up. Then they put it on top of yellow noodles with a not really spicy soup. the soup is made from broth, chili powder and the secret ingredient... gallon sized cans of Hunts tomato sauce. It's very good.. try it. someone said that lady was mean. the lady is very nice, no matter to who comes, but she doesn't work there anymore. They've replaced her with a very young lady who is equally nice and she speaks English too! I came for the black bean paste noodles (a.k.a. jja jiang myun). Having been raised on Chinese ZhaJiangMian and coming to like the Korean version thanks to Ktown, I was looking for a good place that had the Korean version and happened on Combo House. It's like a food stand in the market, off to the left when you first enter. It has tables and chairs, but a bar going all the way around the cooking area. The sauce was delicious and it came with the pickled radish and kimchi. Both complimented the noodles, which were basically pasta, but the sauce pull the dish altogether. I have tried their shrimp fried rice, beef bowl, jajangmyun, and king dumplings. I gotta say that their king dumplings are a must!! They are huge and so good!! I'm not exaggerating at all. The dough on the outside melts in your mouth. The meat is mixed with some scallions and they definitely don't skimp out. It's pretty tasty and you can taste how fresh all the ingredients are. Combo House is located inside Market World and I think it's behind this boba shop.
