I stopped by here after an appointment for some lunch. The service was speedy and they assemble the pho right in front of you. The broth was nice and hot and the noodles were well cooked. I appreciated that they put a decent amount of meat. However, the flavors were extremely underwhelming. Usually I add very little Sriracha and hoisin sauce to my but found myself really having to do this one just to get any flavor. This was the beef broth. you can self seats in the area just outside of the small restaurant and they come by and pick up after you which is nice. Been here a couple of times for lunch. They have an interesting selection of meats and vegetable that I haven't seen at other pho places. It's a small place with seating in the hallway of the building. They service is good and they will bring out your food to you if you are going to sit and eat at one of the tables. They have the usuals condiments that you find at other pho places. The broth is flavorful and the meat and veggies cook well in the hot broth. I would not reccomend:(( This is a fusion viet /french spot, and I love fusion spots normally, but i don't think the flavors mixed well together. I had the lamb banh mi and I basically felt that I had a vegan Banh mi. I had only 1 layer of lamb, which I hardly tasted. Way overpriced for what you get. Service was really quick and the employees were really nice and assembled everything on order. I tried the meat lovers pho and I came in expecting a fusion place but I think the pho was a bit underwhelming in terms of flavor and I don't really think gyro meat and potatoes mixed well for pho. I was in the area and have seen this a few times and decided to stop by after an appointment. The space is very small with a few tables in the lobby/hallway area for sitting. The smells were aromatic which is what drew me near. There are menus posted outside the door, along with a QR code to scan for the menu. I asked if there was an extended menu by scanning the QR code and the employee had no idea what I was talking about and was a bit harsh in responding to me, saying, "I dont even know what you mean by a QR code, did you scan it"? He immediatly turned away from me, and continued to scoop the mayo into the metal tin. The other employee overheard and just proceeded to do what he was doing. Located in a tiny sliver of an Art Deco building in downtown Minneapolis, Come Pho Soup reminds me of walk-up spots around the world. If it were in any other part of town, I would have given it two stars, but downtown has so few decent options that Come Pho Soup is a welcome addition even if its food is underwhelming. I got the vegan pho ($11.49) and was not impressed by the bland, salty blahness of this dish. If you want better vegan pho, go to Jasmine 26 or Pho Tau Bay in Minneapolis. I also got a banh mi with tofu ($8.49). Unfortunately, the menu doesn't say that they'll add a non-vegan pate and a vinegar-y chili sauce to the dish, so I didn't actually end up eating this. That said, my partner did take a few bites and hated it. If you want the best vegan banh mi in town, go to Lu's or Lake and Bryant Cafe. I can't heartily recommend Come Pho Soup, but with so few options in downtown Minneapolis, I'm still glad this space isn't another Panera. read more

If I could give this place zero stars, I would totally do so. I figured since this was my first time giving this place a try I'd try their namesake dish... their pho... I went for a traditional beef pho. When I say this was the worst beef pho broth I've ever had it in my life it is not an over exaggeration. My first hint that I should have walked out the door even before ordering was that there was not a hint of the aroma of pho... most pho places have the spice aromatic smell of clove, star anise, cinnamon cardamom, etc... Even at first glance before taking my first bite... the broth was "cloudy" not the crisp-clear-clean beef broth. They definitely missed what I think is an important step of blanching their beef bone broth and discarding the impurities and then boil again to make the stock. My toppings were at a minimum. You only get two toppings so I opted for the beef steak and meatballs. I was shocked that they gave me Italian-style meatballs... and not the traditional Vietnamese meatballs. Imagine a bread/crumb based meatball devolving into your pho. The broth was so bland and gritty and Not an ounce of flavor... I asked for fish sauce they looked at me like I was crazy... I asked for chili oil and they had me sriracha and hoisin. I was with a senior co-worker who looked to be enjoying her banh mi sandwich so I didn't want to complain... I took about 4-5 bites of my pho and picked at it until my co-worker was ready to leave. I am beyond disappointed... annoyed that I tipped them when I checked out (before I got my food). If you are craving a bowl of pho, or a banh mi sandwich, this unique take on Vietnamese food would absolutely hit the spot! Came for lunch on Monday, 12/21/2020. I will say that parking is kind of tricky if you are new to the area, but from my understanding, Target has free parking for a single hour! To find it go on Lasalle Ave between 10th and 9th Aves. Otherwise, it will cost $5 for a single hour in most parking ramps. This location will be ideal post-COVID when restaurants are open, and people are working in downtown Minneapolis again since it will be just a short walk from lots of other things! Service was fast--got my food within just a few minutes. My fiancé got the poultry pho and I got the meat lover pho with the veggie broth. When you think of pho, you think of a broth that has been cooking for nearly a day with some sort of bone helping give it flavor; that is what you get with the poultry pho at the Come Pho Shop. While hers might have been a little too spicy for her since she added a lot of the spicy chili, it was quite good. With each pho, you have 6 complimentary things you can add: cilantro, jalapenos, lime, green onions, bean sprouts, and another I cannot remember, which were all fresh. Three sauces you can add on top are tahini, hoisin, and garlic chili. You have obviously had the latter two in pho but I will say I was surprised and curious to try the tahini in mine. The sesame flavor was a nice addition since it provided another layer of flavor which I enjoyed since it played well with the spice and citrus notes. The meat lover pho with the veggie broth reminded me of eating/drinking my favorite hearty broth with a plethora of protein due to the number of meatballs I was given. The noodles in both of ours were cooked to perfection, not too hard or soft. To-go: We got a chicken banh mi sandwich and noodle banh mi bowl. There were countless flavors to add on top of either to provide that twist to normal Vietnamese food. The one we tried was the Jerk Chicken for the banh mi sandwich and I will say, the bread had the balance of crunch and softness in every bite and I could not put it down. The filling of the sandwich was exactly what I expected, and the Jerk Chicken addition put it over the top for me. The bowl we got had fresh mangos in it and I thought it was filling, but not nearly as good as the pho or the banh mi sandwich. Overall: A place to come either in the winter for a great pho to help warm you up, or during the summer for a sandwich to eat while walking through downtown Minneapolis. My buddy and I went for a new restaurant lunch in Downtown Minneapolis. This is an offshoot of La Belle Crepe, but they specialize in Pho (Vietnamese ramen) and Banh-mi sandwiches (Kind of a Vietnamese hoagie) I got a "Make your own Pho" with chicken stock and pulled pork with egg noodles and some egg and shrimp I believe. The broth was fantastic, but not a lot of the extra ingredients you pay for. I got all the accouterments allowed as well. Lime was a nice touch. My friend got the meat lovers with lamb and just a bunch of dead animal, which looked amazing. Overall, I have had pho about 4 or 5 times, and this is pretty standard fare, but the service was great. A little pricey too, but it is downtown. read more

It wasn't horrible. I was a bit disappointed in the flavor of the broth. I ordered the meat lover which came with meatball, lamb, and potato. The meatball was not the traditional pork meatball found in traditional Vietnamese restaurants. It was like a spaghetti meatball. It was a good portion of noodles though which I appreciated. Since the flavor of the broth was lacking, I wish they had fish sauce and soy sauce which I could have added to enhance the broth. They did have Hoisin sauce, sriracha, and some chili sauce though. It would have been nice if I could have added broccoli or other vegetables to the soup other than the potato. The potato and meat did nothing for the soup. It was pretty mediocre overall. The service was fast though. Overall, I had come with the expectation of a more traditional pho but had only non-traditional version of pho soup. Great lunch spot in the heart of downtown Minneapolis. It's a locally-owned restaurant that specializes in custom Pho soups in which you can choose your own ingredients and build it the way you like it and then also has an additional 6 complimentary items to go into your soup bowl if you like.
