This hidden restaurant is inside of a hotel but is a definitely a place to try. They have so many different options to choose from. They give good portions for the prices they charge which i love since i don't feel scammed. They have a rooftop but i wasn't able to go up since i arrived so late so i definitely recommend getting there early if you want to be seated at top. As i stated i arrived an hour prior to closing but the server was so nice and had so much patience's with us. She even offered us dessert even though they were closed ! The vibe was so cute. Our flight landed at 5am on a Thursday so I previously did research on places for breakfast that had early hours which is when I came across Comedor. I made reservations in advance just in case. It is connected to a Marriott so we sat in the lobby waiting for them to open. I believe hours says they open at 6:30am but it wasn't until 7am they opened the doors. When we walked in I told the waitress we had a reservation (entire place was empty so we probably didn't need one tbh). She wasn't too welcoming, gave us a dirty look, and said "just sit wherever." Other than our not-so-friendly welcome, the food was decent and service was fast. We were going to go back on that Sunday for their poolside brunch (I think it's $18 bottomless mimosa's) but we ended up going on a boat to Culebra so we didn't get to experience their brunch. You can charge your bill to your hotel room or pay with CC - which is definitely a nice perk for those staying in the Marriott (we were not, we stayed at an Airbnb). read more

We usually are skeptical of hotel restaurants so we don't typically visit them. However, when our kayak guide recommended this as his favorite return spot, we decided to try it one night. And that was one of the best decisions we made on our entire trip. The ambiance here totally jived with us. We liked the slightly dark and intimate lighting, the wall decors, and the color theme of the interior. It artfully combined the fancies of an upscale restaurant with the chill vibe of a late night bar. We are also picky eaters when it comes to fusion foods. But this restaurant really exceeded our expectation. This time we ordered Mahi Mahi Ceviche, Alcapurria, Ribeye with Yuca Gnocchi, Bori Ramen, with a side of truffle fries. The portioning was filling and the taste was epic. The ribeye, for example, was amazingly tender and juicy. The ramen broth was rich in flavor. And the appetizers were beyond refreshing. We were really sad that the delicious food already filled us up and we couldn't order to try a dessert here, as many of them seemed enticing. We loved the Cucumber Smash with tequila so much that one of us ordered a second one after finishing the 14 Hands red wine. The service was of good quality, especially considering how busy the place was during our dinner. We will definitely come back if we visit San Juan again. read more

So let me get my disappointment out ASAP. Although not clear on the menu - Brunch is only on Sundays and starts at 10am. Inside and outside, orders and drinks, order taking & delivery. It was impressive to watch her never miss a beat. On to the drinks - the coffee GET IT! Delicious creamy and flavorful. I had 3 mimosas -guanábanas , acerola & tamarindo. They are listed from absolutely delicious to ehh I don't need that one again. Food we had the Mallorca sandwich & an I had the omelet with bacon and hash browns. DELICIOUS! The omelet was huge (definitely can be split) flavorful & fluffy filled with veggies & cheese but still tasting the egg. Bountiful amount of bacon and two potato cakes ( best I can describe check out the pic) that were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. To end it I had the goat cheese cheesecake with a berry marmalade compote - GET THIS! If you don't liked cheesecake get this, if you don't like goat cheese get this. This was absolute heaven it's soft flavorful the consistency is creamy a little salty it's simply amazing and the compote just gives you enough sweet to provide that dessert vibe. He was abrupt, rude and made us wait a long time for him to take our order. Went for Sunday brunch- note they only serve from that menu after traditional breakfast hours. Looks like it's near the university so didn't see many kids around but no one made a fuss at mine in the restaurant. French toast was brioche I believe and VERY good- didn't need the syrup served on the side. Mom ordered the chicken and waffles- delicious! The chicken was breast maybe hammered to thin slices and fried. Great flavor and very moist. The waffles had a little extra flavor to them (mom thought cilantro) but were delicious with the syrup and chicken. I had the steak and eggs- absolutely delicious. Would recommend to anyone. Steak was cooked and flavored perfectly and was great with the cassava fries underneath. Chimichurri sauce was delicious- I had to ask for more. The egg was fried beautifully. The unlimited mimosas with Caribbean cherry juice were divine. Was very busy on a Sunday so that made service maybe a little slower but we ultimately felt well served and got everything we asked for. This new gem in the Miramar sector of San Juan is must go to place. I have been there for breakfast and dinner. Both ocassions were spectacular. For breakfast the Croque Maddam is a must, and for dinner, the Salmon or the Ribeye are out of this world. The bartenders are very knowledgeable and respected so their drinks are always original and different, if you feel like it. I am a fan and will definitely be back regularly. Truly impressed with this place. Came here on a Sunday for brunch with a big party of 10 and we were immediately seated at our reserved tables without waiting a single minute (1st star). Almost everyone got the Unlimited Mimosas which gives you the option of choosing between 5-7 different juices. Can't remember the price but if you're in the mood for some day drinking, just 2 mimosas makes up for the unlimited price. Our waitress (Adriana) was excellent and she was also on the look-out to refill our glasses (2nd Star). The design was beautiful; very similar to the set of Velvet (if you've seen on Netflix...) and the ambience was very loud which did not bother us at all, in fact it was probably the type of environment we were looking for. Just keep that in mind in case you prefer a relaxing and quiet breakfast. (3rd Star). The food! We wanted to order everything on the menu (which I think we ended up doing, haha). The standouts were the Chicken and Waffles (although the spicy honey syrup was not that good and not spicy at all...), the avocado toast, and the Croque Madame. Great food and friendly service in Miramar, San Juan. This was the hotel restaurant at the category 3 Marriott Courtyard where I was staying, and I had no expectations when I went in, but was really impressed by the service and food. The menu is a selection (12 of each?) of some great hot and cold starters and maybe 20 entrees. It seemed like high quality Puerto Rico inspired cuisine (sort of California Cuisine in some ways, but mainly in the simple and good quality ingredients way -- the style and dishes were definitely Puerto Rico, Caribbean, and local.) Prices were fair (not inexpensive, but not particularly high for San Juan). Service was excellent. Really friendly bartender who served me (as I was having breakfast/lunch/dinner at 3pm, having arrived at 4am and departing at 2am the following day). I'll definitely be back. We stayed at the Courtyard Marriott and I think between breakfast and lunch, we ate here 5 times. For breakfast, our go-to was the mallorca sandwich that came with fresh fruit. For lunch, the poke bowl and salads were great. We called and picked them up to eat at the pool outside.
