If repair is needed, an easy to understand estimate is always provided and they have never recommended work that seemed needless or outlandishly expensive. If I'm ever in a bind and not ready to make a large investment, Comfort 1 has always been able to come up with a creative solution to buy some time. I don't even know where to begin with this review. First off, let me just say that this company has the best customer service. Both Tasha and Angel were amazing. Let me give you the back story: our AC unit went out on Friday of Labor Day weekend and another company was called and came on Saturday. First off, the other company's tech that was supposed to come at 8 called in sick and so our appt was pushed back to between 4 to 5. The tech came in and stayed about 15 mins and said the thermostat needs to be changed and the batteries were installed backwards (I know, embarrassing) then he told us the AC should start working but will take a while. It never got better so we suffered Sunday during a heatwave with no AC. While at my cousin's house trying to beat the heat, I stumbled upon a friend's post about this company she had raves about Comfort 1 Heating Cooling & Air. Monday morning at 8:00 AM we called and were able to get an appointment the same day - 2 other companies were too booked up. Funny thing is the other company we usually used called to confirm our appt for Tuesday and we told them we went with someone else and they immediately said they could send someone out the same day - where was this sense of urgency yesterday? Anyways, We were give a time frame of 9-11. Angel arrived before 11 and changed the thermostat but noticed the fan wasn't working and inspected the attic - mind you 3 weeks ago another company came and did a comprehensive appointment and never told us anything about the busted fan or busted thermostat. Angel was able to quickly diagnose the probables. Angel didn't have the part on his truck but said he would check with the warehouse to see if they had the part. Hours later, we figured the company was too busy but then we get a call from Tasha saying that Angel had finished with his appointment in Roseville and was coming back to give us a portable AC unit to help us until the AC was fixed. My family and I were shocked that he would do that especially since we knew he had been working all day (especially on a holiday), our house was out of the way from where he was at and that he had ribs ready to be cooked at home. Lol. When he came back, he set the up the portable AC unit and said the office would call once the part arrived and that someone would probably be back tomorrow night. Now today, we received a call stating the part was in and that Angel would return 5-7. Angel came a little before 5:30 and fixed the problem - it took him about an hour to fix and everything is great! This company has received customers for life due to their amazing customer service and kind and knowledgeable tech. Thank you guys for being amazing!!! read more

This hvac company COMFORT 1 failed to show up with their appointment Monday 29 June, 2-4 pm. Tasha who scheduled the appointment through YELP did not even call me before if they could or could not make it. I could have used the timeframe to make my errands. This company should be banned from Yelp. But Yelp should also be held liable for their sponsorship of companies like this. What if I had turned them down upon their arrival. I would be subject to monetary penalties. This is crazy with misleading 5-stars this company has garnered via Yelp! Brian contacted me saying he was just too busy because his business just picked up and my appt just kind of got lost in the shuffle. To make amends he would give me a free tune-up and along with that he apologized. I understood his situation and accepted his apology. I withdraw the one star rating and would give him five stars for initiating a resolution to both our satisfaction. read more

Brian installed a new HVAC unit in the house I bought 2 years ago because it didn't have central air conditioning. How can anyone in the Sacramento area survive without air conditioning!? Brian was very professional, friendly and punctual. He gave me the best rate out of several other bids and even helped me with the rebates that are offered for installing a new unit. He worked fast and even showed me how to use my new HVAC...so I didn't have to read through instructions myself. A year later, my parents needed to replace their HVAC so they also contacted Brian. Brian and his te has never failed to be there for us! 1st in our old house they completely replaced out heating and air system at a really fair price! Then when we moved into our new house 3 years ago the air conditioner wouldn't work. Brian didn't hesitate to come over the same evening to get it working again! Just recently, same heater, stopped working. He came right over and figured out the problem, ordered the part and fixed my heater. We just bought a new gas dryer and wanted the gas lines moved. My HVAC system is on its last legs and just as it was getting colder, the heater stopped working. Comfort 1 sent Angel out and he thoughtfully went through the system finding 3 problems. He even worked in to the night to replace a faulty gas valve (replaced for free because it was just over 1 year old). He did great work and is very personable too. We were looking for a new HVAC company for our business in Martinez. Our sister office in West Sacramento uses Comfort 1, and so we called Comfort 1 to see if they would travel outside of their normal territory, which they agreed to do. The tech arrived on-time, even after driving such a long distance. They inspected our four roof-top units and gave us an explanation of our equipment and what they needed. We were so impressed with their professionalism, we signed them up to do our quarterly maintenance. I liked their service so much, I asked if they would give me a quote on my residence, which is also about 2 hours away from Sacramento, which they did. Our air conditioner was acting up, so I reached out to Comfort 1 Heating and Air. They were able to get out to my home the next day with an available appointment between 6-8 pm (no extra charge for after standard business hours). Angel (the service tech) called when he was 15 minutes out which put him at our home at 6:30. He was able to diagnose the problem and get our unit working properly at a very reasonable price. He left our home around 8:30 and still had two more houses to go to. Comfort 1 knows this is their busy season and make themselves available for their clients until 10 pm without overcharging. We were blown away with Comfort 1's exceptional customer service tonight. Around 6pm we noticed our house was getting hot and the condenser stopped turning on. We turned off our AC so we wouldn't cause other issues and started to freak out. I'm 7 months pregnant and we have a toddler, so bearing through this 106 degree weather nor going to a hotel would be very fun. I called and texted our normal AC place - no response. Started down the yelp list and the first 10 places couldn't help us tonight or tomorrow morning. Then I called Comfort 1 and they were extremely helpful from the beginning. The woman that answered was so sweet and said she would be able to get someone out to us tonight. A Technician was at our house within 45 minutes!!!! This was on a Saturday night, when no one else would even answer their phones. Their diagnosis rate was very very reasonable. I won't even tell you what the issue with our AC was, because it is so embarrassing that we did this to ourselves. But I will tell you that they were able to diagnose the problem accurately, fix it quickly and be on their way all within an hour. He also gave us further information on the condition of our system, which was helpful, and just had a good laugh with us rather than making us feel like idiots (because we surely were!). I am so pleased with this company! A puddle had leaked out at the base of my HVAC unit in the garage, and it was making worrisome sounds. I was concerned it could be on the verge of failing in this heat wave, so, based on their excellent Yelp ratings, I called Comfort 1. They had Brian and Angel come out that same afternoon! How many companies respond that quickly? They determined that the drain was clogged, that I was using the wrong kind of filter and that it was low on refrigerant. For no additional charge to the $69 service call fee, they cleaned out the drain and gave me a new filter of the proper type and size. They charged me for 3 lbs. of refrigerant at $45 per pound, so my total bill was $204. Brian spent quite a bit of time explaining things and answering all my questions. Now my HVAC is humming along beautifully. No more leaking and no more worrisome sounds. Comfort 1 Heating and Air is now my go-to company for all my HVAC needs! read more
