Great staff and awesome food! I highly recommend the oxtail as well as the rest of their food.

Some of the most moist ox tail I've had . I got the braised Ox tail with 2 sides. Oxtail is top notch, the fat is rendered beautifully on it resulting in a moist juicy bite each time and it isn't overly salty like most oxtails I've had 10/10! The cilantro rice is slightly seasoned with just a hint of salt 8/10. The Mac isn't too salty was expecting a super heavy cheese flavor and thickness but it was surprisingly light with a black pepper and herbal flavor 8.5/10. The vegetables looked like the typical tasteless steamed veggies you get in a school cafeteria but they had way more flavor than I expected 8/10. You can tell comfort kitchen wants all their sides and main dishes to have their own flavor so no individual item is a stand out. Top tier comfort food and the service was amazing . Finally got to check out the Farmers Market on Wilshire Blvd in front of the E! Entertainment building. I am currently doing a 6 week Paleo session and I wanted to not use one of my cheat meals today. Thank goodness for Comfort Kitchen. My eye zoned in on the braised oxtail. I can't find anybody who loves oxtail as much as me. I rarely have it because of the amount of time and effort it takes to make it. CK's oxtail was delicious, fall-off-the-bone delicious! The roasted vegetable medley went perfectly with it. I spooned the oxtail gravy over the vegetables which consisted of squash, carrots, corn, brussel sprouts, green beans and cauliflower. For certain, on the days when I can be more relaxed on my diet, I want to come back to try their Swedish meatballs, spinach mashed potatoes and their mac and cheese. Wonderful mother and daughter team. You are truly getting a homecooked meal made by love! You can tell. read more

I love visiting them every Wednesday at the Miracle Mile Farmers Market (on Wilshire and Masselin). Everything I've had at Comfort Kitchen has been outstanding! The braised ox tail is one of my favorites--it falls off the bone and melts in your mouth. The sauce it is cooked in is perfect for drizzling over anything--rice, couscous, veggies! The turkey meatballs are tender, juicy, and seasoned perfectly! They are a hit with my 14 month old daughter too. I also love the roasted Salmon and basil Mac and cheese. COMFORT KITCHEN IS AMAZING. The young ladies here are so nice and friendly! (Hey Brenda!) I recommend the salmon, which is always seasoned to perfection! Their sides are incredible too, from the mashed potatoes, to the steamed veggies, and the herb couscous. Also, if you like oxtails - I highly recommend you try theirs! I'm absolutely lucky to be able to work in a location that is close to the farmer's market where Comfort Kitchen sells their amazing food. Personal rule is to have a protein that I've never tried before, and their Braised Ox Tail fit the description. I fell in love at first bite almost a year ago and have been eagerly awaiting the chance to done with them wash possible Wednesday that I could. One time near closing I ordered salmon. It was kind of a small piece and she threw in an extra fillet just because. They are a family owned and operated business and know their way around delicious fare. My favorite side is the spinach mashed potatoes. They're perfectly blended and seasoned and are an easy match for any protein. I can not recommend Comfort Kitchen enough. My only wish is that the farmer's market was more than once a week so I could eat there every day! read more

If you are in Los Angeles near the la tar pits, there is the farmers market every wed from 11a to I think 3p. Comfort kitchen has a booth here (no restaurant yet but I was told restaurant might be coming in the summer this year). I got the Swedish meatballs since it reminds me of ikea & who can say no to Mac & cheese. ;) Both were pretty tasty. Entrees were $7 and sides were $3-4 depending on what you get. No combo meal yet so everything was separate. Parking is meters or in the neighborhood. read more

DISGUSTING!!! I ordered their garlic chicken expecting it to look like the picture, but it was not grilled white meat. I got what looked like dog meat. It was a bunch of dark meat shaped into balls, like the anus of the chicken. NASTY! The texture was soggy because it was boiled NOT grilled, and it was drenched in a ton of juice like soup. Also very salty. A waste of 8 bucks. I nearly puked. I'm astonished they would actually sell this to the public! read more

What a pleasant surprise as we were driving through 8th Street, just south of Wilshire. We were looking for a place for lunch, and saw smoke and smelled deliciousness coming from the yellow canopied food stalls. Among all the food offerings, the longest line was in front of Comfort Kitchen. They had us when we saw Oxtail on their menu. We ordered Oxtail, Turkey Swedish style meatballs and Ginger BBQ Ribs. The flavors were wonderful. Everything was so tasteful with a little kick of spiciness. They were so nice too. Must try if you're in the area on Wednesdays. read more

This place is fantastic. The portions are perfect and the food is absolutely delicious. I got the turkey meatballs with gravy and cilantro rice; the turkey was prepared and seasoned perfectly and the gravy wasn't too heavy but delicious. I'd also recommend the habanero hot sauce if it's available. I'll definitely be coming back! read more

Comfort Kitchen is a pop-up at the farmer's market in Miracle Mile, and I was attracted by the the homemade factor and the welcoming staff. I opted in for the chicken thigh, as they recommended, and combined it with the steamed veggies. It tasted like legitimately homemade and healthy food, but was a bit bland. I love Comfort Kitchen. I've tried every type of protein they make, and although the turkey meatballs with gravy and the braised oxtail are my favorites, you can't go wrong with anything they make! The sides are really tasty as well - mac n' cheese, veggies, couscous, and/or spinach mashed potatoes. Good portion sizes too! This is a place where I can eat a lot of food and still feel good because it's healthy style cooking, without losing the flavor. Tough to do but they do it right here. This is by far some the best food I've had since moving to Los Angeles 5 years ago. The spices and seasoning taste so good for all the food that's served. My personal favorite is the grilled chicken, vegetables, and mashed potatoes. Everything is very fresh, and the service there is delivered with great positive energy.
