Decided to stroll around Park Circle one evening and decided to stop for some beers. Commonhouse has a very inviting atmosphere when ample seating as well as board/card games to keep the "adults" occupied. We have been passing by this place for a while now and finally decided to stop and man am I glad we did. The place is huge, with indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor patio was gorgeous! We had went on a Friday night and there was a good band playing and a good crowd. This is always a place to go if you are looking for a night out but don't have a babysitter, very kid friendly. There beer selection is on point and we did not have one that we did not like. They also have some food that looked really good, we had already eaten so we didn't give it a try but next time we sure will! read more

Beers: I tried Barrony Whipper, Park Circle Pale, Citra Dry Pilsner, and 13 Coconut Coffee Stout (not my fav) but they were all good beers. Refreshing since it felt like 100 outside! Food: Came quick, and a little step up from regular bar food. Tochos- Need more salt! Just lacked flavor, but the texture was great. BBQ with this was good too but again, a little more salt. Tator tots- Yummy, crispy, LOVE them because the remind me of being a young kid. Jalepenos (inside pork wrapped w bacon). I really enjoy Commonhouse! I haven't been on a day that there isn't a food truck or entertainment, and I like it that way! Now that this is within biking distance from my house, it's super easy to get there right after work, grab a beer/cider, and then check out whatever food truck/vendor is near! I also love the new addition with all of the extra seating outdoors and the stage! The staff has always been very friendly, and I could sit in one of those rockers for hours just people watching. We are talking no seasoning, stale toppings, etc. The fries were lacking as well and the ranch didn't taste like ranch. However, our friend got a burger and enjoyed it. We stopped in here during a UYE brewery crawl. The building is really cool and there was lots of places to sit inside and out. I like that they had a food truck on site and that you can also order pizza from Evo at the bar to be delivered since it's right down the street. The antique maps on the wall, which are available for purchase, are super cool. When we were here, they didn't have much on tap yet but my husband enjoyed everything he tried. A nice new brewery in ParkCircle. Score!! I've been here three separate times and have enjoyed each visit. The beer list has grown with each visit and probably has more already on it as I type this! During visit 2 they had a raspberry sour option. It was very light, not very tart and I believe 3.0 abv. That was all fine, my problem was the $8.88 I paid for a small glass of it. It was definitely not worth that IMO. As summer approaches I'm sure I'll be spending more and more time here with my Yelp and Park Circle friends. Cheers! read more

This is such a cute little place. If I lived in the area, I would easily be a regular here. They have a window to order at (which is great if you bring a dog like we did) and the service is impeccable. We enjoyed our beers and they have a great environment. Lots of seating with covered picnic tables that have tabletop fires to keep you warm. Now let me tell you about our bartender. I'm so disappointed I didn't get his name because he was so so friendly. Very willing to give advice on his favorite drinks and the food. We ordered the pretzel and totchos as a dinner to split between my husband and me. Now we were thinking "it's a good place to start and if we need more, we can always order again." That was all before our bartender said "Don't worry. I got you." Holy moly. The pretzel was bigger than my head and delicious. Flaky and salty with beer cheese. Everything you could ask for. The totchos came in a huge serving loaded with pulled pork and sauce. We were stuffed by the end of it, which was only disappointing because we wanted to try more food! We had such a great time here and I'm sure it would be even better on a nice spring or summer day. Next time we're in the area, I'll think we'll have to make the time to come back here. read more

We had to check out the new brewery in North Charleston. Several large community tables, outdoor picnic tables and large garage door openings are the first thing to catch your attention. The staff was very nice and explained their beer. A little more expensive than what Im used to in our local craft brews. Some were $7 where tasting rooms are often $5-6. Commonhouse Aleworks' location is great with lots of parking nearby. I enjoyed the outdoor patio and the indoor space, although seating is somewhat limited. We didn't order any food, but we did order flights and a pint. Service was great. I liked the flavor of BARONY WHIPPER: RASPBERRY beer the most--it was like fruit juice. However, at 3% alcohol, I was surprised with the $8 for half-pint price tag. My second favorite was the WISE ONE HEFEWEIZEN. We also tried all of the IPAs. Went last night for their soft opening. Great new brewery in the heart of Park Circle. This place offers many new additions the nightlife. Great building - It is obvious that time and attention went into the development of this project. The indoor/outdoor concept truly takes advantage of the small lot/site. The mix of tables, high and low, really make this a great gathering place for families, groups, or solo explorers. The beer - I enjoyed two of their four offerings last night, both American Pale ales. The Park Circle Pale was right in my sweet spot, wonderfully pithy, not overdone. The Oleander Pale didn't strike my fancy. I found it to have a bit of an unusual aftertaste. Not aweful, but just wasn't to my taste. Others in my group enjoyed it. The little things - I think it is the little things that set this place apart. How many times have you juggled an obnoxiously long board of samples only to spill a few precious drops. The selections of beer abundant and tasty, user friendly service, but the biggest take-a-away from this establishment, was the gigantic pretzel and the condiments associated with it. Commonhouse is located in the resurging Park Circle community so of course it was a packed house BUT everything went pretty smoothly. Only complaint I heard personally was that it took a little long to get snacks. The beer I had was pretty good, even though I can't remember what I had (I PROMISE YOU I WASN'T DRUNK OFF BEER LOL). A nice place to stop in. Brand new and filled with excitement. Service: I had several employees ask if I needed help while standing at the counter reviewing the beers offered. All we're smiling, which is a plus. Rate as a 5. Location: As I said, brand new. Seating is picnic tables outside or tall tables inside Friday saw them packed and with standing room only. Inside was very loud. No Accoustic tiles allowed the sound to bounce off the walls, and ears. While the interior was nice, covered with wood (very nice), but the sound was deafening. I give it a 3 overall. Put up some acoustic damping tiles and I'd probably go higher. Food: Well, the food is from a series of food trucks that frequent the location. We went Sunday and saw Holy City Waffles, Friday was Cuban/Rican. Didn't eat anything so I cannot rate the food, but that will change depending on who is there on a given day. I will rate the beer though. I had a Park Circle Pale. Described as juicy, it had citrus aroma with hints of grape fruit. More like a Hefeweisen than a Pale Ale, it was still refreshing. Other offerings we're what you might expect: Stout, IPA, Brown ale, even a cider. Wine and bottled soft drinks are also available. I'd rate the Food as a 4. Wow this place has really blossomed. We went about a year ago when they first opened and honestly weren't that impressed. Now with their kitchen opened and their patio finished, this place is really awesome. Dog and kid friendly, this place has it all. Outdoor heaters that keep patrons warm on colder nights. I noticed they do painting nights and have blue grass festivals as well. So what critique would I give? I'd try and keep some more of their home made beers available. I get it, supply and demand, maybe they could stock pile and open a case randomly? I was jazzed to try their double IPA and asked about it, but (insert fail sound) nothing in stock.
