Rosemary & Garlic sourdough bread and iced tea.
    Samantha P.

The best foodie quest so far this year. I fell off in love instantly with the cottage style house setup. As I walked up to the counter there nothing but smiling faces staring back at me. I ordered an egg sandwich on sourdough bread with an iced tea. I also ordered a sourdough rosemary & garlic loaf to go. The iced tea had a mild minty flavor and it tasted out of this world. Definitely refreshing. The food tasted so fresh and "real". I can't wait to go back!! I chose to sit outside because it was sunny out and I loved the outside eating area set up. There are plenty of colorful tables/seating outside. You can choose a table tucked away from the peaceful street view or sit out near the tree and street view and enjoy the sun. Outstanding experience!

After years of my wife and friends eating here and only eating their take out, I finally made it in. Why did I wait!? Community Loaves is everything you want in a locally owned restaurant. The staff is amazing and quick. Prices are fair and service is easy included so no issues with tips. Parking is easy with several places to park your vehicle. The food here is great. The egg sandwich is tasty. The morning buns are delicious. The avocado toast is not going to hurt your mortgage payment. The ambiance is great. I sat outside and multiple folks brought their dogs to eat with. Folks are friendly and eating outside is chill.

My first time here! The staff was lovely...from taking our order to bringing items out to us. So friendly and kind, made my heart warm. The food was very good! Home made. Ambiance was nice, after sitting outside under a heater for a bit we found a table inside by the fire. 10/10, will visit again

Great vibes. I enjoyed my latte on the back patio and made a new feline friend who came right up to me even sat on me for a few minutes as I waited for my breakfast. Loved my seasonal toast with Asian pears Almond slices, local honey drizzle on top of goat and ricotta cheese spread on sourdough. Definitely a great combo of sweet and a touch of savory.

If you love to support local, this place is such a hidden gem with fresh food. Their sourdough bread is absolutely one of my favorites and they have a beautiful patio for fresh air to dine. The staff here are always so friendly and it's just a welcoming environment. Their pastries, AMAZING. Definitely worth the buy and so fresh.

A hidden gem!! One of my favorite breakfast spots in Jacksonville. It's a cute little shop. They keep the items on their food menu relatively simple but the ingredients are clean which is rare to find. We only buy our sourdough bread here (weekly). I have been craving the banana bread since I tried it last week - please have that more often!!

A community staple and a must visit. They showcase fresh baked goods and have coffee, tea, and other beverages to accompany your meal or snack. I typically just grab a simple pastry from here. I like their guava pastry. I also enjoy their basic croissants. I would say plan accordingly because they do tend to sell out or sell a good bit day to day! Great place to stop in for that community vibe, hence the name. They have ample in and outdoor seating but on weekends it can get more crowded. A great spot for a pick me up treat.

I first visited this bakery when I moved to JAX 4 years ago. It's one of the reasons I fell in love with the city. It's nestled in Murray Hill amongst a community of adorable homes and local businesses. The floors creak and there the seating is close together, which is what I adore about it. You're close to your neighbors and can hear people enjoying each other's company. It's truly a community gathering spot. The food is delicious and just look at the layers of the pastry (in photo), that's solid work to achieve that.

If "locally sourced food" is your love language, then Community Loaves is your soulmate. I stopped by for a quick bite and left plotting how to rearrange my life so I can have breakfast here every morning! For food, I had the everything croissant, which came with a surprise twist: chive cream cheese. It was an extremely pleasant surprise. I paired that little morsel with an iced dirty chai. Not overly sweet, but flavorful enough to make you question why you'd ever settle for less. The outdoor seating was so cute! It's the kind of place where your coffee just tastes better because the vibes are immaculate. And the staff? Absolutely wonderful--so friendly! Community Loaves gets five stars, not because I'm generous, but because they earned every single one. Highly recommend swinging by--but be warned, you might leave obsessed.

This is such a cozy spot that really does feel like community is at the heart of what they do. Their food is fresh every time and their outdoor seating is such a vibe.

Absolutely love this place. The food is simple local and yum, the coffee is fresh and yum and the sourdough keeps me coming back. My only gripe is they NEVER open on time. When trying to make a quick morning stop, be sure to pack your patience. They are supposed to open at 8am but there is generally some sort of delay. If you find yourself there at opening, join the queue, soak up the fresh air and wait for the doors to be unlocked.

The inside is so cute and the atmosphere is so cozy and welcoming. They also have outdoor seating, which is honestly just a vibe on a great weather day like today. Starting off with the coffee, I tried their seasonal iced Sweet Potato Spice Latte and it was SO yummy!! You could taste the subtle hints of the spice and it wasn't too overwhelmingly sweet. The espresso was also very smooth, not too sour/bitter! (Are we surprised tho??? when is @boldbean espresso not perfection). I also tried the pastries and sandwiches! We couldn't choose just one so we tried the guava and sweet potato pastries! If I'm being completely honest I probably wouldn't get the sweet potato pastry again, but the guava one was an absolute winner!!!

I love this little spot! It stays busy and it has limited supplies of certain items but I think that is what makes it soo good. The bread is always fresh and the coffee is always delicious. I most recently had a breakfast sandwich which I would highly recommend! Every pastry I have had has been delicious but the fresh bread is my absolute favorite! Some delicious bread with just a bit of butter toasted, it hits every time!!!

Good baked goods, horrible customer experience. Baked goods aren't quite good enough to offset obnoxious employees, or conceited customers.

We ordered a board as an appetizer and waited close to 35 minutes for it before our server realized she never rang it up. We were upset as we wanted something to snack on as we waited for our meal. She offered to quickly have it made, but our food was almost ready and it did not make sense to us anymore at that point. But no other resolution was offered. The food was great, but it took a while to get our food. It didnt seem to be busy, yet they where slow. Im sure if we had our appetizer, we wouldnt have noticed the 45 minute wait. It was a really good experience. We started with the baked Brie appetizer and it was delicious ( forgot to photograph that). I'm a vegetarian and love the fried zucchini sandwich but today's lunch special was a spaghetti squash special and it was delicious! I highly recommend it. Hubby had the smash burger and fries and all was good. I had a special cocktail called Blue Eyes something that was very refreshing. Elise gave us very good service and as always, I got a piece of Tropical Cake to go, that will last for days. Other than parking being tough, this is a great place for girls days, lunch with the hubby, etc.

Both delicious as can be with just the right amount of sweetness. Mom gets so excited when I visit and have an iced coffee for her and today was a little different. When we ordered, he mumbled back and forth and seemingly didn't understand our relatively simple order, which was a bagel, egg and cheese sandwich and a PBJ on a bagel. My wife also got an iced coffee drink. The man at the counter had an attitude with us the whole time, especially after my wife asked for an iced coffee rather than the hot coffee he served. He was huffing and slamming doors and dishes, and it was really unnerving. The most egregious part was the cost. For the above three items, this man actually charged $31. I didn't even bother to argue with him and just paid the tab. There's no way we weren't overcharged, but I'm equally certain he would have resisted any attempt to examine the bill or gotten angrier... over nothing. We didn't say anything or do anything to this man other than place the order and return the hot coffee, which was his mistake. The whole atmosphere was uncomfortable, and I will strongly recommend no one visit Old Cup cafe. You will be ripped off, or retaliated against, and you will not enjoy the experience.
