Nothing much to say about this place... Location:shopping center near food 4 less. Parking- made me a little nervous as there were some interesting people in the parking lot. Food was okay- nothing worth going back again for. Ambiance- went on a Saturday night and it was super loud. Some people were dressed up and others in gym clothes. Some people looked sketchy. Second time here and ordered the taco flight a second time. Food was spot in. They do some fusion flavors that take the food to an 11. Brought my picky kids and they didn't order burgers and they loved their selections. Need to come back more often. So first let me just say I'm sorry... we ordered a lot of food because we had big party dining that night. I took way more photos on interior & other food & drink options but Yelp only allows 10 photos. First can I say the at the food itself is pretty good. The only thing I think they over charged for was the supreme carne asada plate & the cheese burger. The different between the carne asada plate & the supreme was really just the bone marrow and shrimp which you can't even eat the marrow because it was mainly just bone... not enough marrow to eat from it because it was charred on there. The cheese burger has a great portion size, but since it was for my 7 year old niece, she wanted it plain with no toppings... and it was still the same price. Overall the food was great. No the ambiance was great.... If you like loud people and even louder music... seriously. I even realized driving home my voice was strained because in order to even talk to or hear the waitress we basically had to yell at each other. They had a live band playing great music... but they were doing band rehearsal pretty much the whole night with loud speakers and only played like 4 songs after rehearsing... that was ridiculous. The ambiance is very "nightclubish." Neon signs and paint which looks cool, but if you're not into that scene... I dont recommend this place. Now the service was "decent." Since we had a big party... they automatically added a 25% gratuity... but honestly I would have given less... the food took forever to come out even the chips and guac we ordered as an app about 30minutes before the rest of our party got there. Majority of the waitresses and the hostess kept speaking Spanish to me after I apologized a few times saying I don't speak Spanish. Next, waitresses I feel might be a bit "lazy" or their boss makes them carrying more than they can handle. The reason I saw this is because a waitress was helping bus a table, but she had all the glass plates and glasses from the bar on the plates. So, when walking back to the kitchen... she dropped everything and all the food and drinks splashed all over my husband, his clothes and the couple sitting next to us... she just stared and handed a small wash clothe to the couple. Not even apologizing she went to get a mop and a man came over and helped clean and apologized to the couple but didn't even acknowledge my husband who also had food all over him... I just thought that was super rude... but hey, hopefully the couple got a free meal if they didn't I feel bad for them as well. Overall my experience wasn't great. Dimly lit and doesn't feel refined when one walks in, but the folks there are friendly and welcoming. Attentive and responsive without being overbearing. At first glance of the menu, I thought that things were pricey, because $20+ for a flight of tacos. However, when the food came out, I realized it's actually quite a deal. Portions were huge AND the food was delicious. They are a little ways away from home for me, but I will make it a point to visit again in the future because they won me over on how welcoming they made the experience and how delicious the food was. This place has become my favorite Mexican restaurant! The decor is awesome with a very hip vibe and nice music, a full bar, and really good drinks. Our server was really good, and friendly, knows the menu by heart, and took very good care of us and she gave us her honest opinion and we went with her recommendations and no regret! We started off with the Bone marrow tacos which were DELICIOUS and filled with so many flavors "see picture". For drinks we had the mango margarita which was really good and not too sweet, I had the cucumber shooter which was really good that I had 3 of them lol. I don't live near Ontario so I've only been to Compadres twice but both visits were phenomenal. I visited the first time a little over a year ago with my girlfriends. I don't remember the names of everything I ordered but everything was delicious. I got one of their cocktails, something smokey, it was delicious and gorgeous. For my meal I ordered their sushi and it was phenomenal. For Valentine's Day my husband and I were going to a concert at the Toyota Arena and it felt like a perfect opportunity to go back to Compadres. We started our meal with margaritas that were as pretty to look at as they were delicious to drink. For an appetizer we ordered the Compadres Fries. We inhaled them. They were crispy and creamy, just the right amount of spicy...my mouth waters thinking about them. I ordered their surf and turf burrito. It was huge! Super cheesy and packed with so much asada and shrimp. My husband ordered their enchiladas, I'm blanking on the specific name, but it was the ones with the mole. Two things disappointed me right away: I ordered an Absolut greyhound but they had neither regular Absolut nor grapefruit juice! When it came to the food, I ordered the taco flight but was told the pork belly was not available. Our visit was during lunch time but I expect restaurants to have sufficient ingredients no matter what time. My companions were satisfied with their food, we liked the rolls (sushingon). The taco flight was good both in flavor and portion size I wasn't expecting Japanese restaurant sushi qualify but the rolls were good. The service was good, Laura was cheerful and attentive. The food here was very delicious. It had a very authentic taste which was very flavorful. The chips and salsa were very fresh and the avocado also very good! The drinks were just as good. Compadres Cantina makes their drinks with real fruit not out of a bottle liquid fruit and this is why the drinks are yummy! Our servers were very accommodating and super nice! My only complaint is the music inside is SO loud you cannot have a conversation with anyone in your party! It was so loud we asked to be seated outside, luckily there were a few outside tables. Had there been no outside seating we would have left. I enjoy having conversations when I go out with family and friends I don't get why the music has to be SO LOUD?? Wow, what a hidden gem! This place is absolutely incredible! It's located in an unassuming strip mall. I went on a Saturday during lunch time and there were already a lot of people. Looks like a popular spot in town (I just moved here from LA). I honestly will say this is the absolute best Mexican restaurant i have tried in town, and not just this town, but also LA! We ordered the bone marrow tacos and the taco flight. Both were really big portions, not dinky tacos by any means! The bone marrow comes with 4 separate pieces with carne asada, and 4 tortillas, perfect for sharing. They were incredible!!! The taco flight included one beer battered fish taco, one surf and turf, octopus taco, and pork belly. The pork belly was huge and so juicy and tender! The octopus taco was incredible. I didn't get a chance to taste the surf and turf taco cus I was already so full. I also had the watermelon margarita and it was ginormous and very tasty. Oh, and I checked in on Yelp and got a free dessert! Churros and ice cream, delish! Compadres Cantina was such a cool twist with its fusion take on Mexican and Asian cuisine. I was fortunate to get to try this place with a few friends in Ontario, California. The experience was so fun and tasty. Our group was able to try some really cool dishes which included a variety of margarita flights, surf and turf burritos, bone marrow tacos, and compadres roll. I mean if I read this review, I'd be interest. Sushi and burritos!! I think it's very fun and unique plus throw in a little alcohol, and you have a good time. First time here, my brother and I, bookmarked this spot to check out. It's a nice medium sized spot in a busy shopping center in Ontario, on Euclid, off the 60fwy. Parking isn't the best, because of the other stores. Now to the important things. Food: I got the Street Tacos Flight. Comes with 4 good sized tacos. Each one different or you can swap out. Mine had, carnitas, carne asada, fried shrimp and another carnitas, instead of octopus. I could only eat three of the 4. Not because there was anything wrong with it. It was due to them being so big and delicious! LOL So good. Drink: I had a Mango michelada, which you can choose the beer you want. This was bomb. They also have a Michelada Flight, which comes with 3 full sized drinks. Too much for me lol Service was great. Friendly, attentive and helpful server, as was everyone else. We left just street the DJ Started to bump the music, which was club loud. This was about 6pm Sunday Eve. IDK if they do this every night or just weekends. My friend enjoyed his food and drink (Margarita). I forgot to take pics of that. I was too excited about my food lol. Room for improvement: some of the tables were too close together as if trying to fit in as many tables as possible. Wasn't a large restaurant, more medium sized. Better spacing and cleaning of floor. Be forewarned it's a total patty atmosphere here, they have a full bar so you get to enjoy yourself if you're into that. The menu is simple two page that's it. Mexican and Asian and you can even get some Japanese rolls. Service was a bit hectic as it was bustling with a lot of folks. But once you order the food comes out pretty quick. Wife and i opted for the tacos ($5 each) and our girls got chicken enchiladas. These tacos are not street taco sized they're rather big when they pile on the condiments etc. i got carne asada and pork belly taco. Amazingly good preparation of the meats. Our girls chicken enchiladas were packed full of chicken and by the looks of it the girls really enjoyed their meals because the plates were cleaned.
