It's been a while since I've written a review, but I felt compelled to for these guys. I had a…read moregreat experience with them. I found the tile I needed online, called to see if it was in stock and "purchased" it online - which actually means basically requesting a quote. They contacted me first thing in the morning and confirmed the quantity, the shipping costs if I wanted it shipped and said I could pay by phone or come to the store. I was going to pick it up within the next few days, so they said they would hold it for me and I could pay when I came to get it. Over the course of the next few hours, many things changed with my order - my contractor was going to pick it up, so I called back to pay by phone. Then I needed to add some items and called again and they were able to quickly add them to my order. Basically I was high maintenance, and every time I called they knew exactly who I was, what my order was and helped me with very friendly service. We got the tile and everything looks great. They provided excellent service, and I'd definitely go check out their store or website again if I needed more tile! Their price for my specific tile was competitive to others I found online and cheaper than Home Depot.

If you want high quality, detailed work, with a nice finish, this is NOT the guy…read more The job was to enlarge an interior crawl space opening and replace the existing frame/door with an insulated door and weather stripping. It was $375 plus an additional $125 for insulating materials/labor. For this price I was expecting a completely finished, well installed product, with quality materials and remaining mess/job materials to be cleaned up. The first concern was that a small drop blanket was used in front of the door. But, knowing that you are cutting into concrete block and the subsequent dust that permeates the air, this would hardly be sufficient. The smoke alarms in the entire house went off due to the amount of dust that was created and not blocked appropriately to keep from getting all over the house. When the job was finished and I pointed out the materials and dust collected around the work site, including a nail left behind, I was informed that he "didn't have a shop vac" and "doesn't normally clean up building materials". The additional money spent on insulation labor and materials was used on; narrow stick-on weather stripping that was falling down due to half the adhesive part left to open air, which then stuck to the back of the door, causing it to pull and fall when opened; and Styrofoam board, screwed into the back of the door, partly held on with a busted part of a ruler, and not secured at all on one side. I was told this was "quality work" and that he had technically used what we had agreed on. The front trim/door is marked up and, the trim which he reused from the previous door is too short on one side. Instead of informing me, and agreeing to replace the trim, he re-installed it and said "nothing I can do about that". Additionally, the front latch does not line up and cannot be closed properly. When I expressed my displeasure, and pointed out various items, I was told I technically got what we "agreed" upon. I went ahead and paid the full amount to end the interaction as it was evening already. The next morning, I notified him that I was still displeased and, that the door is not able to function as a proper door, nor is the price for the additional insulating materials and poor labor he used justifiable. He then told me I had flown into a "rage" after asking for a small discount ($40-$50) so I could get necessary repairs. He refused. Really disappointed. I was hoping to find a long-term handy man but all the great reviews really let me down. I guess this is NOT his "type" of work. Buyer Beware.

I appreciated his integrity on that matter as we all know plumbing problems can escalate quickly if not done right. He did the electrical job perfectly and in good time. we now have a perfectly-functioning security light on the house. I would recommend Jay for any small job you may have. He is honest and fair in his pricing and he communicates very well. If he cannot do the job for whatever reason he will tell you immediately.

Candi and Shamus have consistently jumped through hoops for me to provide great product at pricing I could fit into my budget- or my client's budgets. Their installers are educated and follow the manufacturer guidelines for install - which is hugely important as to not void any warranty. This last project they helped me with required same day delivery and unload. 2 of their managers took the time to follow the delivery truck and unload my flooring! If you're looking for great products and service, I recommend Into The Woods. Shamus is also a GA Licensed Contractor so he is a wealth of information. I highly recommend and am grateful for their support.

Poor workmanship. Poor communication. A frustrating and, at times, genuinely unsafe experience…read more What initially felt like a company we could trust turned into a project we wish we had never hired them for. If you value your time, money, home, and peace of mind, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere. The work on our floors and dry wall required multiple return visits. After the second flooring visit, we told them the floor was still uneven and that the vinyl continued to pop up. On the third visit, a team member stepped on the area that was popping up and said, "There's nothing wrong!" After we insisted they open the floor, we discovered that cardboard packaging from the vinyl floor boards had been used underneath the floor to address the leveling issue... When we finally thought the flooring was finished, another problem surfaced. The trim at the top of our staircase that had been installed only about two weeks earlier came loose, and I fell down the stairs as a result. We then discovered that our replacement dry wall was visibly uneven and not flush with the existing wall. Even after their team came back to work on it, the transition was still not flush, if not worse! Regardless of whether subcontractors were involved, we hired Into The Woods to ensure the work was completed properly and ultimately hold them responsible. On top of having to repeatedly identify problems that should have been caught through proper supervision and quality control, the most frustrating part has been communicating with Into the Woods direct team members, especially their owner, Shamus. We constantly felt like our concerns were minimized and dismissed. Even if the work had been perfect, the interactions with the company throughout this entire process made us wish we never signed anything with them.
