I really don't know what to say about my experience at Compound. Everything that I didn't expect to happen happened. It was one of the weirder moments of my trip to ATL, but here goes... I was forewarned by photos of Compound to pretty much get here early. Not only that due to regular business, but due to the fact that Diddy was going to be there. You would figure that 10:30 would be a good time to get here right? Nah, not even close. Total wait in line: 2 hours. No bull... Chris Brown. Yeah, there was a cut line, and it was $40. I don't know if this was the regular price or higher due to Diddy being there, but I didn't need to cut the line that bad. NOTE: If you have a pass from a promoter for free admission, make sure to have the email on your phone verifying that the pass was sent directly to you. Yes, I actually had to have this in order to use the pass. If not, it would've been $20. Oh yeah, and make sure the pass is not folded up or they won't accept it. After finally getting in, me and the crew pretty much had a good time. The music on both dance floors was pumping, beautiful women everywhere, and we were all enjoying ourselves. On the main floor (second dance floor, bottom level), it was packed like a can of sardines. I couldn't move without throwing having to throw some 'bows around, and it was like that all night. Even at 3 am. Found out that smoking is allowed in this club as well. I guess that's regular in many ATL clubs. Not my cup of tea though. The bouncers were pretty much on point, no complaints there. They did their job without being off the wall aggressive, even when Diddy showed up. Overall, the crew had fun, barring the hiccups in the beginning. I would have to come here again when there's not a big hoopla about a celebrity being there. read more

This was my first Atlanta nightclub once I moved to the city! I'm a little sad that they have decided to close their doors!! The Compound wasn't outrageously priced for admission or alcohol...I'd have to say they were pretty similar to most big city clubs. Great place, sad to see it go, but I'm sure there are many more great clubs in Atlanta! read more

First time here and attended the day party on Monday, Memorial day and it was great! Drinks were an average of 4-12$ but the POUR WAS HEAVY! Music was great! The even added some Caribbean and African music. Creepers were around but no one overly aggressive. I'm not sure what the age minimum is, but I'm 30 and did not feel like there where to many 18 year olds around. It was a mixed crowd of people having fun not too old, not too young. I felt safe. Parking was 20$ but if you know how to bargain you can get it cheaper. Even brought my bestie from out of town and she loved it. The club is huge... indoor /outdoor and kind of reminded me of clubs in Miami. read more

Came to this venue for a birthday party. I had never been, just heard it was a hood spot. Which it was.... Parking was crazy for me because no one accepted bank cards, they only took cash. That is such an inconvenience! They were charging $60 For VIP parking! That's some BS! That's exactly why I don't go to hood spots! They overly charge for everything and you get nothing in return but low quality service! I finally got inside and every other person was smoking weed! It's full of young people, Ratchet looking girls and boys who obviously still live with their mother. The venue decor was ok. We had a section so seating was no problem but for anyone who didn't, seating was non available. My. Biggest complaint was.... I ordered six bottles of water for the table which was $6 each, the waitress brings a six pack bottle water, still wrapped In plastic, and set it next to me. I almost died...... I politely asked her can she put the bottle waters individually in our bucket wear the liquor bottles was. She resisted but eventually did it. I will never return to this club. If you like super ghetto and poor customer service than this is the perfect place for you! read more

Worst experience. They hold the line for absolutely no reason as if their club is the best. Inside is mediocre. Never going again.

Best place to party when its warm. Dress to impress. You will be glad you did! Pricey but worth it. Various partying atmospheres. Get there early and enjoy a fast line and your choice of comfort zones (unless you VIP). Although, all parts of the venue aren't open all the time. Not a good beer selection. Great venue security. Unless you live in the area, pay for secure parking. read more

Compound is my go-to hip hop club because I know that I'm gonna have a good time but the crowd just isn't upscale at all. Compound usually has a performer n hosts good events. Always a line so get here early n prices are reasonable for us women. Great music, strong drinks and nice space! read more

This last weekend I had another chance to visit compound nightclub and had a blast! This is one of the few clubs in Atlanta that offer the option to enjoy yourself both indoors and outdoors! We all know that when the clubs are extremely packed it gets beyond hot inside and just sticky! Besides being about to offer the outdoor option I just love the scene this club gives and the music is always on point! Whoever the DJ was this past weekend was amazing! I don't think there was a jam that was played that I didn't know and literally danced the whole night! Bartenders were super friendly and not stingy at all on the pours! I can definitely appreciate that! The last time I was here was a couple years ago for July 4th weekend and remember that the time I came was fun as well! Compound was a great club. Lots of different little rooms to mix and mingle with, people and music wise. The only problem to me was, the parking and the bathrooms. The rooms all have a different theme to them, like the garden which is outdoors and has a little pond and mini bridge, and the "ride" room which is basically white room with a huge dancefloor. It's a good spot to mingle and dance at. Each room is provided with music, so you go where the music may take you. Sad to see it go, hopefully the comeback will come soon. read more

I saw the latest reviews, so I had to write my own. I've only been to Compound once, and it was back in November. The music was cool, but I didn't see 1 good looking guy there - except for the guys I was with! The place was so big it makes it hard to meet anyone! And who wants to stand outside when your hair and make-up are "did" and it's 100+ degrees? Plus, I've realized this is not a cab town. I waited outside the club for 20 minutes for a10 minute ride - even after the club said they called one for me. I wasn't impressed. read more

The venue itself is nice. Indoor and outdoor setup together is good. Everything else is terrible. The staff tried to rob me from the jump off. I used the Eventbrite app to buy my ticket. Got the VIP cut line which was double general admission. I bought my ticket while I was in the line waiting for security. Finished the purchase about two minutes before I reached the cashier. When I get to her, she tells my QR code has already been scanned, but she'll let me in for $40 dollars more. Bitch where? So I ask for a manager or a refund. She proceeds to make me get out of line by telling security that I want to exit, trying to avoid a scene because I'm not going for the game. Yeah, nah B! I proceed to ask for a manager or supervisor to give me a refund cause I'm not having it. I mention the words lawsuit and class action because this looks like a pattern, and then all of a sudden my ticket is valid and they escort me in! Janky muthafuckas! Then when I go to the bar, the bartender acts like it's an inconvenience that I came there. I had to ask her if she was serving drinks after standing there for three minutes looking at her looking at me looking at her trying to order a drink. Then she proceeds proceeds to take her sweet ass time to make two Ciroc and Sprites like it was advanced molecular chemistry and the fate of the ATL was at stake! So after all this I finally get to enjoy the place. The people were lit. Showed up and showed out. These folks were about that life and partied like you DJ's were on it. One was a little too much on the mic, but that seemed to be his style for promoting the "guest" of Cardi B and Yo Gotti. I say "guest" cause these two didn't do shit! No performance, no mic work, barely saw them. Bad enough they didn't specify hosting versus performance on the advertising. read more

I only give it 4 stars because it really is a beautiful venue. Just be sure to watch out for whos promoting that night because if its AG...youre gonna pay some serious bucks if a celebrity is there that night. but anyhow, they have 3 different spots and the back garage is a hell hole when it gets crowded i swear the air does not work in there. but like i said, its a beautiful location, half inside half outside and since the renovations, be careful walking down those stairs ladies! read more

I went here for the first time a couple of weeks ago and I had a good time. This place is huge and there are three different areas with different types of music. The crowd was a bit young for me, I prefer 25+. The musics was great and the drinks were good too, not sure how much they cost though. The VIP areas are large and there are go-go dancers on small stages. There are also plenty of places for the ladies to rest your feet because we decided to wear those HOT, but very uncomfortable heels, lol. We paid $20 to get in instead of waiting in the longest line I've ever seen to get in free. The smoke was almost unbearable though, so I'm glad there were plenty of outdoor areas and it wasn't winter time. Not sure if I would go back again, maybe if it's for a private party. read more

I came here as a tourist from the nj/philly area and this is the best club I have ever been to! Mind you I'm only 26 and I'm only comparing it to the clubs in my region. This place is better than every night club in philly and atlantic city if you love hip-hop. I came with my best friend who has actually partied in Vegas and she said Compound was better than the Vegas clubs. The DJ was great, none of our drinks cost more than $10, the layout of the club is perfect. They have a main dance room, then another room where the music is still blasting but it's more loungey. Then an outside lounge area where it's a little quieter so you can chill and talk. The place is huge, thats why it's called compound. The AC is strong so you can dance all night without sweating too much. I believe general admission is $20 and to skip the line was $60. This place is worth it though! read more

I personally don't know why everyone is rating this club above one star. First of all, they advertised all week long that it was free before midnight. True, if and only if you stand in line about an hour in the cold. It was in the 30s and we had to stand in line until people paid to go in. That is where they get you at, its so cold outside and they feel like you will pay instead of wanting to continue standing in line. $20 for girls and $40 for guys, and nothing special was going on that night. Second of all, it was not free for guys at all, and the radio advertisement specifically stated free for everyone. Once inside, it was lame....no one in the club because they were mostly still in line outside in the cold for no reason other than trying to pressure them into paying. Mega night club with several large rooms, each playing a different genre of music (house/techno, R&B, top 40 pop). Cool lighting in the dance rooms. I came here on Halloween ($23 admission fee), and the dance floors were packed! Sometimes, it was difficult to dance with people constantly pushing me to get from one point to another inside the dance rooms. At least a dozen creepy male strangers attempted to grope me, and some stalked me even when I deliberately moved three feet away. Also, bathroom lines can be ridiculously long here. I would recommend staying with your group of friends for the whole time, because people literally disappear for at least 45 minutes when they leave the dance room to go to the bathroom or to get a drink from the bar. And it's almost impossible to meet up with friends at the club, because the space is so huge. However I did run into a bunch of my old Emory friends whom I had not seen since graduation, so that was cool. Don't wear your nice shoes here. I went in with BLACK shoes, came out with the same shoes, but they turned white. Not sure how that happened, but it could have resulted from a combination of the drunk dude who fell at my feet and the drinks spilled by random people. read more

I have been to compound twice. Both times, I felt as if I were in ChinaTown. I know that everyone thinks this is "The Spot" to go and it is a really nice venue but there is not really a mixed crowd. As for the set up for the venue, it is wonderful, Very Modern and the Sound System is one of the best I've seen. The lights is really nice, but if you are into the flashing and strobe light, this is not your place. It is a very well-lighted Club. the outside and I'm guessing entrance is really nice with side walks and rock formations. Really cool water area. The Venue is a nice place, I won't knock it. As for the people who go there. It's just not my scene. I like mixed crowds and I didn't experience that at all. I also have noticed they will advertise that someone is going to be there, someone famous of course. Do you ever see them there? no... As usual. But I don't really go for that anyway. The drinks are expensive and they are not strong. But, If you really want to try it out. Then I'd say go for it, At least you'll have good lighting for pictures and a cool scene to show off to friends. read more

Big and beautiful, this "super club" is the closest thing we have in atlanta to anything remotely "Miami" or "LA". Especially since Vison said bye-bye. The crowd is younger than most Midtown clubs, but that is the appeal here...it is full of youthful energy, style, and culture. read more

Yeay! Compound is open once more! Beautiful remodel, amazing space and love the vibe. I don't really do clubs that often and I live in San Francisco, but when I do visit Atlanta I have to come to Compound. I love the drinks, multiple bars, multiple dance areas. Its definitely the place to see and be seen when you are in Atlanta. Can't wait for the new Vision to re-open on Peachtree St. right across the street from the old Vision. Best club in Atlanta. Definitely a grown and sexy scene. Very big indoor outdoor venue. Lots of security. Never had any problems. Drinks are 10 a drink depending on what you get. get there early though the line starts at 20 and goes up from there women are usually free before 12. cant ever get bored at this venue. You stand in live forever which is so ghetto and annoying. By the time you get to the front of the line, they have increased the price. The security is insane and the people at the front are rude. The WORST VIP EXPERIENCE IN MY LIFE!! I will not return to this establishment nor would I recommend ANY ONE to waste their time, money, or effort. We had a party of 10 out of town VIP guests on the night where Lil Wayne performed, When a business knowingly knew their credit card authorization system was down, 4 days before the event, YOU, the business is at fault. We were told numerous times by 2 different people in person the day of the event and also via phones calls and emails that our Vip was held. We tried once again apply payment the day of the event early afternoon because we didnt want any issues later that night, but was told we can pay when arrive that night. This business should take responsibility and fix the issue not push blame on the consumer! All they see is GREEN DOLLAR BILLS, forget how your treated and being lied to. No apology was given by management or the so called VIP consultant. NEVER AGAIN. read more

Compound has closed its doors to the weekly partiers that venture out each weekend. Now Compound is only open for special events (e.g., The Bert Shows Big Wicked). When this place was open on a regular basis it was only so-so. I started going to Compound after Atlanta's super club, Vision - not VisionS, closed its doors. I have yet to find an adequate replacement for Vision and in fact, have given up on the Atlanta club scene for the most part. I totally shunned Compound after having a terrible NYE experience in 2006/2007. The place was absolutely packed and I stood waiting at the bar for 45 minutes and never got a drink. Maybe I am not hot enough, or have big enough boobs or something to warrant serving me before someone else, but this place was terribly understaffed at the bar. I ended up just leaving because there was no point in staying if I couldn't have my favorite $12 (overpriced) cocktail to enjoy. The pros to this place is that it provides both indoor and outdoor atmospheres which is great. read more

The Compound was an enjoyable expereince over-all when I look back on our visit. Aside from the toe-numbing HOUR-LONG wait outside, it was rather enjoyable. Ladies were free until midnight and you all know how I feel about cover charges so into the line we went. It was literally wrapped around a corner but we got there around 10:40 so I figured it wouldn't be that bad. 10 min before midnight and we are finally to the front of the line. I was standing on concrete in four inch heels but it's okay because the temperature was so low that I could no longer feel my toes. (I don't know much about GA alcohol rules but serving $5 shots and/or playing music outside for the people forced to wait in line is a good way to take minds off the wait- and to make a little extra cash). Also, the longer I spend waiting outside, the less time I spend inside buying drinks. FYI: Be prepared to be felt all-the-way up before entering. This was more personal than the new frisking at the airport. Since it was freezing outside the indoor-outdoor part was closed but the indoor part was nice. Once we got in, the DJ was playing 80-90s jams which is always a good way to start the party. There are two main areas. The first one you walk into is like a lobby area with couches, two bars, and a coat check (score!). The second area had two more bars, the DJ, and VIP. This is where most of the dancing is. We stopped at the first bar we came to and met the best.bartender.ever. Her drinks were better then mine (which is saying A LOT for me to admit that). All top shelf liquor so everything was $9. It's a little high for a club but as good as those drinks were, I do not mind. After the first one, I forgot all about that wait outside. The guy to girl ratio was pretty good too. The guys weren't all something to stop and stare at but there were a few cuties and the rest didn't make me clutch my purse or gag. One major downside was that they allowed smoking inside. Ugh! Was fighting the crowd to get back to our bartender once and stepped right into someone breathing out something that made my throat burn. My hair also smelled like smoke the rest of the trip. :( (Can't wait until everyone adopts this no smoking indoors policy). The DJ casually progressed into newer music and the atmosphere felt like one big party with friends. Around 2:30 the party started to get a little wild but that's just my old soul talking. So we left to get breakfast. All and all, a good trip. read more

My first time to Atlanta and this place did NOT let me down!! I tried some clubs on Friday night and it was NOT my scene!! But I came here on a Saturday night Nelly was there doing a Birthday thing....line was LONG waited a lil over an hour and it was kind of cold but entertaining!! There was a cover of $20 for women...no big deal to me....Its expected....gotta pay $10 in the wack ass clubs in Seattle so it aint no thing to me!! I know people like to bitch about paying a cover and what not but that way I see it if you dont have the $ to spend to go out to have a good time...then stay your ass at home!! This place is BIG and lots of bars....only thing I didnt like was I drink straight shots of Jager and Corona to sip on...they only had Vodka, Gin, and Don Julio for tequilia...I personally like Patron but whatever I made the best of it and settled for doubles...which were actually DOUBLES of Coconut Ciroc and a splash of pineapple, which got me on a GOOD LEVEL!! No lines to get drinks which I loved!! Lots and lots of people and not too crowded tho...the DJ was off the hook...and Jermaine Durpree was in the house with Nelly which was coo...Nelly did a little performence which was tight!! Being from Seattle this was the best time I've had in a club in a long time!! I cant wait to come back...I will def be coming back to Compound...and plan to get a VIP table next time just to have that VIP experience in Atlanta!! Cant wait to come back!! read more

I went to Compound on a Saturday to get out of the house. I had heard great reviews about it and it was also Greek Picnic weekend, so I knew it would be even crazier then usual. I got there around 9:45 and parked for free on the side of the club (where Valet actually parks your car). Walked to the front around 10:15 and there was already a line forming. After waiting 30 minutes or so in line I entered the Compound. The club itself is amazing! There are different parts of the club that play different music. It's an indoor/outdoor club as well. It's HUGE to say the least. The club was crazy packed (just how I like it) and everyone was having a good time. The only downside is the music SUCKS!! they played only a handful of music from the past few months. The rest of it was years old! Nothing to really dance to. A little before 2:30 people started to get the boot and I didn't object. I would go here atleast once to experience it, but the music really let me down. read more

I've been to Compound the past 3 years and it never seems to just be a "regular" night - after the awards, a game and a birthday party. The line was treacherous - luckily I didn't have to stand in it but confirming me for the list for a friends section was a task. He literally had to come out and get me. I find the layout to be a great thing (spacious) and how the VIP sections are like little rooms, you don't really have some random person in your space. However VIP is still a choke room until you get to your section, and not just flooded with women but MALE GROUPIES. I've always gone on a Saturday and the music is repetitive and there are definite dull moments on the hour. The dance floor is a pig stye and the SMOKING. My gawd. I'm forcefully hung over every time, these days I just pop pain killers before I go. The heat, alcohol and weed smell must force my scalp open and perfuse my brain matter coz baby...it's all bad by morning. Oh, ladies, there was a line to the bathroom from 1am when I got there til I left. It took a bouncer taking me outside and around through an exit door to cut the line. I wanted to give it four stars because of the ambiance, celeb/all-around fuckery and it being the best for a Sat night; But, I keep telling myself that if I had to walk up, stand in line, actually pay on a regular night with not so much bullshit to watch and laugh at I'd be unimpressed.
