This should probably be a totally new review and not just an update! Lifeline is TRULY my…read moreelectronic lifeline! Travis and the crew are AMAZING! My iPhone and the toilet had a battle and it was Toilet-1 and iPhone-0! The phone spend 24 hours of time-out in a bag of rice to no avail. I was totally prepared to buy another phone when I thought about giving Lifeline a call. After talking with Travis, we decided to give it a try---he would know within a couple of hours with the phone if he could save it or not. And if, even after spending all of that time on it, he could not get it working, there would be no charge. How can you argue with that? Since I had an appointment with the Apple place set up already, I hoped to know the verdict before I had to put out $300-500 for a new phone. Travis kept me informed throughout the day and was I overjoyed when he told me that it was working! He had to replace the screen and one of the cameras (not the selfie one but the "facing away" one) and the bill came to $180 and change! YES! You read that correctly!!! $180 and NOT $500!!! Plus, when I turned on my phone EVERYTHING was still there...EVERYTHING!!! Folks, these folks are the BEST...no doubt about it. Check with them FIRST and you won't be sorry. Friendly, courteous, efficient, skilled, professional, and so reasonably priced! What more could you ask for!!

I was lucky that searching for my iPad repair, I came across LifeLine Repairs. Ron, who is the store Manager, is very customer friendly and my iPad was repaired in time and looks like a new one. Comparing to other places, especially to Apple Store, pricing is a very reasonable and definitely is a good value. Overall, it was a great positive experience.

I found this service thru Google as being a local service. First off, they are not local to…read moreNashville. The West End location is just a Mail drop to then send your hard drive off to wherever they are located (California? Ohio?). Secondly, after describing my problem on the phone to a representative (which involved recovering data from a consumer grade 1TB hard drive with no physical damage, just a file structure train wreck in OS Time Machine) I asked for a low-high price range to fix the problem; I live across town (from what ended up just being a Mail drop anyway) and didn't want to make the drive if it was going to be way out of my budget. He said it would be in the $400 - $2000 range, with the higher estimate being based on them working around physical damage. I was willing to pay between $500-$700 to recover my data so this seemed reasonable. After driving 40 minutes across town to the Mail drop and realizing I could have just printed a label and sent it from my house, I waited a few days to get the free estimate. The estimate was for $2700, with an option to expedite the process for an additional $600. Not only was this out of my budget, but it was WILDLY above the range quoted me on the phone. After talking with several people who have also had to have similar situations with data recovered from other services, they all agreed this was price gouging; predatory capitalism attempting to profit off of desperation. If I had sent in a RAID drive that I ran my business off of and was involved in a building flood, this might be a reasonable cost, but extracting project files from a perfectly intact 1TB WD Passport HD for $2700 is ridiculous! To sum up: They falsely advertised as being a local business, gave me bad info over the phone, and then attempted to price gouge me. I'm sure there is flowery legalese to describe all of this as perfectly normal for this line of work, but I call BS all the way. If this is the normal price range for their services and they typically only work with businesses, they conveniently forgot to tell me all of that over the phone and wasted 10 days that I could have been attempting to recover my data elsewhere. If you are just a person looking to recover personal files and small project data, look elsewhere.

This is one of the most professional companies I have ever had to deal with before. I believe the…read moreservices they provide are more for bigger business companies that have large amounts of data. I do not doubt they have top of the line clean rooms and everything needed to properly access data. I'm writing this review because to create awareness about them. My story in a nutshell is: I dropped my hard drive, contacted Secure Data Recovery, I had my drive shipped to their facility, then quoted me on a price, declined the service since the price was too high for me, recovered my data with company that did it for much less. Sending in a $120gb hard drive I was not expecting to be quoted at $1406 to recover my files. That was real turn-off for me in my situation. I can validate that price if you are a large company with terabytes of data to need recovered, but for me and the videos/images/documents that was too much. I went with a company that recovered my whole drive for $300. So why the price difference? Well I think this company caters to, like I said before, organizations or people that have large sums of data that need recovered. I was very impressed with their whole process of contacting me after I filled out a form on their website. Chris called me, sales rep, and walked me through the entire process. I could check on updates through their site on the diagnostic process. Very impressive. Then after they called telling the price, and working with me on what the best option would be. Their price was just too much in the end for what I needed, but I can see where large amounts of data that need recovered would justify spending ~$1000. The only thing I had to pay for their free diagnostic service, is you pay the shipping of your hard drive back to you. Summary: Great company, professional and friendly service, are kept well informed through the process. expensive $$$ for smaller data recovery needs.

The promotion never applied to my account, so I went back to the store last month to have it fixed. Instead of resolving the issue, they incorrectly applied a completely different promotion that required a trade-in, which caused an extra $366 to be added to my bill. When I returned to the store to get this sorted out, the staff showed no interest in helping me. They would not take the time to investigate why these unexpected charges appeared and instead talked down to me, trying to confuse me and wear me down until I gave up and left. The manager, Quay, was especially dismissive. Rather than fixing the problem, he tried to convince me that the incorrect charges were valid, even though they were clearly the result of their mistake. It is clear to me that they misrepresented promotions to earn my business and later did everything they could to avoid taking responsibility. Ironically, when I called Verizon's customer service line, the issue was resolved in five minutes, something the store could have easily done if they actually cared. If you value honesty and good customer service, avoid this location at all costs.
