The thing I miss most about living in SA is breakfast tacos. So simple yet impossible to truly replicate. I put off visiting this place for a while but I'm so glad I finally made it in with my family with my last trip back home - this place is so worthy of all the hype. Such a cute little spot with all the details - colorful murals, plenty of seating, a mix of basic and specialty tacos, and they're named after important women in the chef's life? I'm sold. We tried four tacos and they all hit. The Carmen might have been my favorite, with the paired salsa ranchera. Irma was a favorite too, with the avocado, cilantro and salsa verde combining to make it feel light and verdant. Elida could also be the 210 signature taco, with beans, cheese, carne guisada (another impossibility to find outside of SA) and cheese (always), so hearty. Licha was ordered to round things out and it also was very comforting. All of the tacos were so well made, with perfectly prepared flour tortillas. Three of us shared the tacos, alternating bites and comments and moans of contentment. It wasn't til after our visit that I watched the Taco Chronicles episode, and it was cool to see the background story of how this place came to be. If you haven't been, definitely add it to your list. We will be back!

This food here was delicious in my opinion. Read the menu before you go because ordering is quick and accurate. The staff know how to handle a rush. I ordered 3 different burritos and the fideo soup and they were all delicious. Although friendly the cat was an unwelcome guest. Try it you'll love and crave it.

We've come here many times and I don't think we've ever had a bad meal. The Vickie is my favorite. Stuffed with beans, cheese, and crispy bacon. Never floppy bacon in sight! I always get this on flour. We also love the Lupe. It's full black beans, calabaza, pico, Oaxaca cheese and served in a nopal tortilla. Also, you can't go wrong with a couple of the basics- potato and eggs, bean and cheese. Yum!! Both flour and corn tortillas are amazing. It's always a difficult choice and always we end up with too much food. On our recent adventure, I opted for a hot bowl of fideo. Yes it was July and yes it was at least 90 degrees outside and it was delicious! Honestly, you'll be happy with whatever you order.

Recommend: Yes! Food: I'd seen this place listed in a Texas Monthly magazine taco edition. I don't know why I waited so long to check it out! I had their chilaquiles bowl with avocado, sour cream, and egg over hard. I loved that all the condiments like the green salsa was on the side, avoiding the chips from getting soggy. The dish had so many flavors, the salsa was tart enough, the purple onions gave it a fresh crunch. I also orders their strawberry lemonade and Carmen taco. The lemonade was very refreshing and just enough sweet & tartness. Service: Service was fast once you ordered at the window. You are also able to order via a QR code. Ambiance: Love the outdoor seating (no indoor). All covered to keep from sun. Would recommend they put outdoor fans for hot days. Other than that outdoor seating is perfect for cooler days. Update: I came back two weeks later and had the same thing except for the chilaquiles with red sauce. The food was still delicious! The red sauce is spicer than the green but still delicious. Def recommend trying them out!

Visiting from out of town and wanted a local taco shop that wasn't too far from the riverwalk hotel we stayed at. This place was a quick 5 mins for us. We got lots of tacos between two people because we wanted to try a variety. These can be pretty large so two per person are probably enough. The Vicki, Irma, Carmen and q-taco were all pretty tasty but my favorite was the Chilaquiles taco. Note their parking lot is small and its outdoor seating only. It looked like people were able to park on the street. pro tip: we ordered ahead online. The food was waiting for us at the pickup window. So glad we did because the line was 15 people deep on a Sunday morning.

Ever since I was introduced to the place, I had always wanted to get a piece of that action! The food just does not miss, seriously, you always get what you pay for here. Now I know some classic SATX taco lovers would say it's way too much for a breakfast taco, I know, but trust me, try it. You will not be disappointed. Also the owners are amazing, they had messed up my app check in and gave a free taco and drinks, how delightful. The only downfall some would say is that it's all outdoor seating, but hey we are in some great weather right now and that's no issue! I will tell ya, the parking can sometimes be troubling but it's not too bad! PLUS they have a nice and clean restroom, Incase anyone needed to know.

This place is a gem! Came here on a Sunday around lunch time and even though there were a good number of people in front of us and we had a big order, our food still came out pretty quickly (around 20 minutes). The person taking our order was also so patient with our large order and was very friendly. This restaurant is all outdoors so make sure you wear some layers when it's cold outside! The benches and tables are all decorated with vibrant colors and the artwork around the ordering area was such a vibe. I ended up ordering the michelada (with topo chico), Carne Guisada, Sonia, and the Vick (all corn tortilla). Michelada- this was such a refreshing way to start lunch and I love how the drink came with pickles and olives All three tacos were fantastic- my favorite one was the carne guisada. The beef was tender, juicy, and super flavorful. For all three tacos, it was packed with protein and the toppings (including the salsas) tied everything together so well. Looking forward to coming back here and trying all the other tacos on the menu!

I went yesterday as a returned customer. I ordered the chilaquiles bowl +desebrada meat +avocado. I paid 20 dollars. I picked up by order at 12:15- by the time I got to work at 12:30 the avocado was black. They gave me old avocado. Super unacceptable and gross. Food was extremely cold. I will never return. *** Photos are timestamp***

Very delicious breakfast tacos!! I tried the Carmen, Irma and Q-Taco. My absolute favorite was the Carmen. The salsa that comes with it was so flavorful and tasty. It really divided the taco from all other breakfast tacos I've ever had. And then the Q-taco was a classic with eggs, bean, potatoes and cheese. And then the Irma was good but a little too salty for me. The food comes out super fast. Went on a Thursday morning and there was no wait. All seating is outside, but they have some good shade. Highly recommend if you are in the area!

The FOOD IS AMAZING!!!! We ordered the Licha, the Carmen, the chilaquiles bowl with an overmedium egg and avocado, and the Huarache with desebrada. 10/10! Theres only outdoor seating but its super cute, has good music and the service is amazing and super fast. We'll definitely be coming back

Stopped here for breakfast because it was near hotel and on several top breakfast tacos in San Antonio lists. Menu is limited compared to most taco stands. No carne asada, so dropped the asada and egg taco from order. Took about 30 minutes to fill the order. Had plenty of time to drink in the hipster bohemian vibe, didn't feel authentic, felt like Austin. I'm a bean and egg breakfast taquito conissuer, so that's what I was here to try. The double bifold Tortilla was very thin - similar to the palenque chain but without the grease - and chewy. It did hold together under the strain of a generous amount of eggs and beans. The beans didn't seem to have any seasoning but we're passable. The hot sauces had different flavor profiles, I liked the habanero (orange) the most spiciness was medium. However, it wasn't strong enough to balance out the filling. Overall, it was a decent taco. I'd give it a B on my Corpus rating scale, solid, but not a top tier taquito. Note: They gave us 4 hot sauces for 5 tacos, so make sure you check your bag before driving away. Lastly, another person in our party got a migas taco, assumed reasonably that a migas taco would have no cheese, and was upset because there was more cheese than migas and it was not ala mexicana. So, your mileage may vary. Overall, between my 4 star taco and one star wait, I'm awarding 3 stars. If you're wanting to try the best tacos in San Antonio, this ain't it

GAME CHANGER! When…read moreI visit San Antonio Plantaqueria is an absolute must. I'm taken aback every time I walk into to this wonderfully positioned taqueria in downtown steps from the River Walk. The smells, the feels, the sounds- it'll set your senses on fire. It's ambience is nothing short of walking the streets of Mexico and stumbling across the best local food find there is- it's your lucky day. It doesn't end there, because I have yet to discuss the flavors that this place dishes out. If you can imagine that other taquerias in town as as good as mamma's cooking, Plantaqueria is grandma's cooking saying, " I taught them everything they know." The counter service, decor and neon lights transport you to a pueblo that you probably have no business being in but were fortunate enough to get lost in. I feel that the people working to advance this visionary concept are in love with what they do because you get that experience with every bite of fresh, homemade goodness, weather you dine in or take/order out. Dude, fresh corn and flour tortillas, C'mon, man!! And speaking of vision, the owner, Sofia, who looks like she would get IDd at a bar has created something truly unique and incredibly delicious. Plantaqueria has revolutionized modern, classical Mexican street cuisine. It's open 7am-7pm so you can literally have this all day and you might wish you did. Y'all need to get you some, and don't thank me, thank the purveyors of this Alamo City gem. P.s. I've brought my mom in to eat this stuff and she totally agrees!

(It had Just Egg but I think other things added with it. It felt that it was softer and lighter than if it was only Just Egg) and pico de gallo on handmade flour tortilla. We were surprised by how much we enjoyed it. Their two self-serve complementary salsas were also fun and creamy. Concha- Delicious and we liked the top of it. Maybe one of our favorite conchas. Elote hot cake - Came out really hot and was delicious. These are only available on weekends. I was tempted to get more but we had lots more food targets on the schedule. Torta with Asada was pretty good too. But the other items excited me more I think. The person at the front also gave us some samples of other taco fillings to try: the fillings of the La Ranchera: Potatoes and pico de gallo in salsa ranchera and also grilled nopales. My husband who is usually not as crazy as me about nopales liked them here. They have mole on the weekends but it's not housemade from scratch. They use premade mole and add some more things to it so we skipped that one. My general rating system: 1 star: I would stay away 2 stars: Has some good things about it but I generally don't recommend. 3 stars: Pretty good. I wouldn't go out of my way to go back but a decent place 4 stars: Great place. I would go back. 5 stars: I highly recommend stopping whatever you are doing and making plans to try it out! An Evie favorite!

The kind of place where your stress, your diet, even your cruda takes a backseat. Now the food. No overthinking needed here. Everything coming out of that truck is a straight up pow pow of flavor. The carne is cooked just right, juicy with that perfect char, and the corn tortillas are legit, soft but with enough structure to hold everything together. I ordered the Mamón and the Chingón, and honestly, both lived up to the names. No misses. And the agua fresca de fresa? That sealed it. They serve it in a little bolsita, which somehow makes it hit even better. Simple, nostalgic, and just cool. I can't really select a favorite cause they're all so delicious with the meats tender and juicy with a heaping sprinkle of onions and cilantro. Make sure you squeeze the lime on it and mix it with the radish/cucumber garnish they'll throw in there. And don't forget to throw on that green/red salsa they provide.
