This place is a typical obnoxious dealership. They pull the same old annoying stunts to get you in there and pressure you to buy today. We called and asked if they had a Fit that was a few years older, they said"Of course! Com'on down!" Sure enough, we get there and it's been "misplaced", but let's test drive this brand new one! Dealership does not honor their contractual commitments as Participants with Kelly Blue Book Instant Offer service. Don't believe any email from them that links to the Blue Book service to provide a resale value that they will pay for your car. I recently received an email from the dealership asking if I wanted to sell back a car that I had previously purchased from them. Despite the fact that Concord Honda is a Participating Dealer with the Blue Book service, and the program FAQs clearly state that "Participating Dealers are required to honor your Instant Cash Offer," Concord Honda refused to honor the offer (while admitting that there was no problem with the car). They refused to address my questions on why they would not honor the offer, and ultimately simply ignored any further attempts to get answers via text or email. They are just a typical "bait and switch" shop - don't expect honesty, respect, or even simple adherence to their own program rules. read more

Beyond disappointed with the customer service. We received a recall notice in the mail that clearly states "FREE loaner vehicles are available," but when I dropped the car off and spoke with the manager, Sergio, he claims they don't offer loaners. His offers: I could pay $35 to get a vehicle from rental company, I could contact my insurance which would probably take longer than the service, I could sit here and wait 45 minutes until unknown time (meanwhile I was supposed to drop off and go right back to work), I can use their "complimentary" shuttle or I could take the car home and reschedule on a day that I don't work. Mind you, it's an airbag safety recall that requests immediate attention. I told him I didn't want me son, husband or myself in the car that's not safe, he agreed as he continued to tell me to take it and come back. He also made a point to mention this is the first time we have brought our vehicle in, so he was under no obligation to take care of me since we weren't recurring customer. Mind you again, we have had the car for less than a month (used) but we have yet to need any service. Won't be bringing it back here when it is due, that's a no brainer. I'm not inclined to spend my time at a place that doesn't value customers all the same whether they are new or recurring. Now I am waiting for a shuttle to get back to work, and I've already been here an hour. So as he promised the car is being worked on now and shouldn't take more than 45 minutes, he has broken ALL promises. I have put a call into the recall center and they are contacting corporate for me. Needless to say, my morning is shot due to lack of follow through. Do not take your car for service here. They will rip you off. They were trying to charge my dude 718 dollars for breaks in a small Honda coupe. The guy said the breaks were bad and it was an extra 70 dollars to change them on top of the other services. When we looked at the bill it was 718 dollars. They said we heard wrong but we know for a fact what we agreed too and it was not 718. Then they said they were willing to negotiate to 499. Nobody will negotiate if that was indeed the real price. This place is why dealerships have a bad reputation. I will never spend one single dollar at this dealership and their behavior borders on criminal. I had to take my car in for a recall appointment. They fixed it but also "offered" a free inspection. When I went to pick up the car I was told that my brakes were dangerously low and that I needed to complete multiple different services. All this was quoted to me at $1200. I gathered two other opinions from trusted mechanics. The brakes were no where close to needing replacement, the "measurements" Honda had given me were off 7-fold. They were telling me how unsafe my car is in order to perform unnecessary maintenance so they can make a quick buck. I was able to have someone else complete all the other services for $200. Had these unnecessary services been recommended by a doctor or financial advisor, it would have been absolutely a crime and worthy of losing ones license. Alas, the shady mechanic gets to work another day and try to deceive the next unsuspecting customer. read more

APRIL 10, 2019 HORRIBLE SERVICE EXPERIENCE SERVICE ADVISOR BENNY YELLED AT MY SON AND CALLED HIM MENTALLY ILL I have 2 2017 Honda Accord Hybrids. They do not have a spare tire. Flat tires require the car to be towed for tire replacement or repair. On Wednesday, April 10, 2019, my son was Concord Honda Service to have one tire replace. Service Advisor Benny told my son it would cost over $1,000 to replace the tire. When my son questioned this quote, Benny lied and said the wheel was damaged due to a collision and HAD to be replaced. When my son disputed this, Benny became angry, yelled at my son and called him "mentally ill!" I was on the phone with my son during part of this and clearly heard a man yelling at my son. When I spoke with Benny on the cell phone, Benny repeated his lie that the wheel was damaged beyond repair and had to be replaced. I asked Benny to send me a photo of the damage. He did so. Photo showed Benny was lying. The damage was cosmetic and minor. After I saw the photo, Benny stopped insisting the wheel had to be replaced. To make matters worse, I have emailed Assistant Manager Harold Placheta about this incident. Two days have passed since I emailed him. I have not received a response or telephone call. I sent a Facebook message to Concord Honda regarding this horrible experience. Their initial response was a request for further detail. After I provided the detail and requested the identity of the person responding to me, I received a message indicating they were closed and I would be contacted "tomorrow during regular business hours." I have yet to be contacted. read more

I called asking to get a smart key copied for a Honda CR-V. The lady on the phone quoted me $295. I then told her I already have a blank key and asked how much the it would be for the service of copying and programming the new key. Once she realized I didn't need to buy a Honda key from them, her whole attitude shifted. She asked where I got the key, I replied it is an OEM key which was purchased from Amazon. She finalizes our conversation by saying "We can copy your key for $140-$150 and if your so called OEM key doesn't work then you still need to pay $140 for the service." WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE! I'm glad I found a private locksmith who copied the key and programmed it (all in 20 minutes, wasn't hard at all). read more

I bought my CRV from Concord Honda in 2016 and was very happy with the sales department and financing team that took care of selling my old car simultaneously. I have since gone in for service several times and their fantastic coffee machine is only exceeded by their customer service. Rick Kreiser has done a great job helping my with the service portion of my car. He was even nice enough to help me reattach my front license plate on the spot after hitting a piece of plywood on the freeway. Great cars, great service, great people! read more

Finally after telling him 4 times I wanted to look he backed off. After looking I went to find him, but then he turned me over to someone else. Apparently he didn't like that I didn't want him breathing down my neck. New saleperson was worse. Wanted to sell me a car way above my price range. When I asked for something in my price range, kept trying to push this more expensive car down my throat. Then he said, "Can't help you, sorry." Ali was superb! He was notified that I was coming in looking for a car, and he emailed me to confirm. As I walked towards the dealership, we were already greeted by an employee asking if we needed help or if we were looking for anything in particular. As the employee went to notify Ali, two more employees asked if we needed help. Being acknowledge in the first 5 minutes by multiple people already surpassed expectations since we weren't given the time or day for at least 15 minutes at another dealership a few days before. Ali looked into all the different dealerships for the car I wanted since Concord did not have one in stock. Unfortunately, the other dealerships did not have the model we were looking for, but we went for a higher model instead. Ali still gave us an excellent price, on point, no BS. He made sure I didn't have any other questions, I had what I wanted before I left the lot with my car and for sure, I had a smile from ear to ear when I left. read more

This review is focused solely on their "service adviser" named Benny. As a whole, Concord Honda has always provided me great service. I came in for an oil change, nothing too crazy. When I first purchased my vehicle back in 2016. one of the selling points they gave me was that they match any Bay Area Honda dealership as far as service specials/promos go. The last 3 times I have come in for an oil change, tire rotation, etc., the advisers have either honored any promo I found online for other Honda dealerships in the Bay Area, or even helped me find a better deal. Last week, I scheduled an appt., was assigned Benny as my advisor, brought my car in and greeted Benny with a smile and presented the Honda Oakland promo to him. He looks at it and then says, "We don't match other dealerships' service specials." I then told him, in the nicest way possible, that my past advisors always matched the deals. He then said," Oh, we only match the deals on this side of the Bay Area." Knowing he was full of b.s at this point, I then responded," I'm sorry, but do you know when this came into effect? I've never really had this problem, so I just want to be clear." Benny then throws some more attitude and says," Since January. We don't do that anymore. The best I can give you is blah-blah-blah. Or you can go to those other dealerships for the service." Great. I politely say I'll just pass and left the dealership. I then called again this week, spoke to the receptionist and then was transferred to another advisor and they both confirmed that they would match the other dealership's service deal. To be honest, I actually already bought some oil and a filter and was going to change it myself, but I wanted to see if my suspicions of Benny's B.S. were true. Well, they were. Not only did Benny lie to me, he made it feel like I was wrong to be looking for a deal on service. And again, they're dealership is the one that told me about matching promos/deals to begin with. I've seen one or two other complaints about Benny on Yelp. Terrible to see how one person may be ruining the dealership's reputation. read more

Will not return: As others have commented, service at this dealership is twice as much as others nearby (even Walnut Creek, for example). Went in for an regular oil change service with an appt at 7 AM, was told it should take about an hour so I just waited there. There were "computer issues" and my car wasn't returned to me until around 10. The service rep felt bad so gave me $30 off. I had a coupon for an oil change, but they would not honor it because I decided to spring for extra services; they told me the coupon is if I ONLY get an oil change -- wtf? What is this place? This is the most unethically run establishment I have ever come into contact with. From start to finish there were red flags, from pushing unnecessary "added warranties, insurances, alarms etc", arriving and sales associate " magically" isn't there to sell me the car, misrepresenting loan terms and in fact loan origination, not being respectful of my time- as it took me 3 hours to get there and was dropped off, and was refused help getting me home bc I was not comfortable with the "new surprise" loan terms... was crying and frantic, stranded, with the staff watching me with cold eyes and no empathy for what was happening. At midnight I got out of there and the car sounded broken. I sat there banging on the door, 2 times and let an employee know. He said he's not sure, but thinks it sounded fine. Emailed another employee with lost of things wrong the next morning, which I was referred to Shane, the used car sales manager. Left 3 messages for him and never recd a call back. In fact, he doesn't even have a voicemail and they won't give out his email address... so there is no paper trail of your messages... suspicious. The check engine light went on wi 24 hours and I have now sunk 1/2 what I paid for the car, into the car... there response was, " well we asked you if you wanted to test drive it...".... while I was crying, distressed, unsure if I was leaving with the car or how I would get home... that's when I was asked to rest drive the car. Bottom line- I'm sure not everyone has my same experience... I filed bankruptcy 5 years ago bc my husband fell ill and we felt like it was the best option at that time. So my credit was/is total crap. I'm 44 years old and up until that point I have always, since establishing credit in my teens maintained a 700 ++ credit score. My interpretation is they saw someone who needed a hand up to rebuild her credit and saw me as an easy target to up their commissions... so anyone who is in a situation like mine, do yourself a favor, run from these people. They are like sharks circling in the water, opportunists waiting for the kill. But I'm sure if your perfect with lots of $ in the bank and perfect credit they will treat you like a king and roll out the red carpet. Shady business practices! read more

Servicing our car for the first time at this dealership was such a hassle. First, when I asked how the service works for non appointments, we were just told to wait by our car. Second, the lady in the service department saw I had a small baby and toddler with me also, she could have told me " we have a kids play area if youd like to wait" seeing as it was hot outside! I found it on my own, and asked if someone would play a movie since there was a tv in the kids area. No one ever came after I asked. Did they know we were also looking to lease a car also today???? guess not, we will not be back to this dealer. they have the potential to be great if they actually had customer service for families with small children who may need additional assistance. Purchasing five Hondas from Concord Honda over the last twelve years meant we have invested heavily in this brand and in this particular dealer. These last two years of dreadful, sub-standard service have finally driven us to nearby Walnut Creek Honda for our future needs. To enumerate: My 2014 Pilot needed a trailer brake controller. As per the Honda manual, I brought the car in to have the controller installed only to be told Concord service could not help me with that. They sent me to an after market trailer store across the street to purchase a part which I installed myself. Next, when I brought my CRV in for an oil change, they found a rat's nest in the engine compartment. At intake, the service advisor assured me they would take care of it along with the oil change. Taking them at their word, expecting factory trained service in exchange for commensurate prices, I did not check their work. Come time for the next oil change, and the service advisor discovers the same rat's nest; he promises to have it cleaned. This time, I checked the engine after the work was completed to find that the rat's nest had not been cleaned--for a second time. Of course, I cleaned it myself. At this point, I dithered about leaving for another Honda dealer, but I like that Concord had all the service and maintenance records for our family cars since purchase. Thus, I brought the CRV in for a routine oil change, but the price had doubled and the tire rotation cost $50 more than nearby WC Honda. I bit the bullet, having chosen loyalty over common sense. Finally, I decided to try WC Honda to determine if better service from Honda was even possible. I scheduled regular maintenance for the Pilot with WC, only to find out that my last service from Concord should have taken care of scheuled maintenance--differential fluid and air filter, and handled a recall service also needed by the vehicle. Concord had not done any of that work. (When I received the recall notice in the mail, I called Concord Honda and they assured me the work had been done. It had not.). To top this off, the price at WC Honda was $16 for tire rotation and $45 for the oil change, a savings of $83. Having been a bit of a gearhead years ago, I know basic car mechanics, and when I go in for factory trained professional service, I expect the service department to know more than I do. This used to be the case at Concord Honda, but has not been true lately. Fortunately, Walnut Creek Honda offered me knowledgeable service staff, reasonable prices, and excellent care. read more

Pricewise was better Than any other Honda dealership trust me I did my math. We were in-and-out in less then 3 hours with a brand new car he got me a better loan percentage then my credit union did. I had an Audi and wanted to get rid of it because of maintenance costs/underwater loan. Inquired with this dealership to see if they can do anything for me and Mike Gallardo was able to assist and get me into a brand new 2019 Honda Accord Sport 1.5T. While I did have to pay extra because of my previous loan, I was happy with the outcome and the rate I was getting. I spent all day at the dealership since Mike was shuffling between three different customers, but he was very helpful and assured I was taken care of.
