This was the first time in a long time that I've left a bad tip (wasn't $0, like she deserved, but wasn't 20% either). Our server was mostly absent, never asked if our food was good or not (we needed A1 for the steak and other stuff) and when we sent a drink back she was NOT impressed (she didn't say a thing, just walked away and that was after waiting almost 15 minutes to see her). This is not your usual hotel restaurant. The menu is varied, the prices are reasonable for a downtown location, and the food and service was VERY good. Very clean, somewhat contemporary in interior with a good amount of space. 2 bars I believe.. one at the front street entrance and one at the entrance from hotel. Food - i had a cubano sandwich with fries. kid had mac n cheese with fries. The server told us they use a queso cheese on the mac and it has a litte zip. I was vaguely concerned as my kid doesn't like spice, but it wasn't very spicy, she really enjoyed it. My cubano had a ton of flavor and was very good! The french fries have a bunch of salt and pepper on them.. if you don't like that, you may tell them so they don't put it on. I, however, love it and they were very good!!! - The kid likes honey mustard... they didn't have any. But she can make due with ketchup (homemade i believe) Service - cannot remember her name, but she was very nice and attentive. She came back and checked on us a handful of times, even checking to ensure the mac n cheese wasn't too spicy. She disappeared a bit towards the end of the meal. but nothing too horrible. Pricing - it's downtown and in a hotel. so it's a little expensive, but nothing out of ordinary. Overall - a very good experience. Popped in for the half priced wine bottles that they have on Wednesday(just mention wine and I'm there)and a little dinner. I've never had dinner here(usually go for lunch because of the amazing grilled cheese) and hadn't heard much about it but decided to try the southern fried chicken meal and i was impressed. The batter was seasoned well and it comes with honey with a lil kick to drizzle over it...very tasty. A must visit spot... I typically venture to this spot for brunch but got together with a group of friends for dinner and it was just as BOMB.. the worst part about here is the parking. Due to the NFL combine downtown, streets and parking was blocked. Luckily the trick is to park in the garage at the Marriott attached and they will validate your parking. Great news given that parking was $25 for two hours. I ordered the fish tacos and they were good. Could have been stepped up a notch with flavor but it was good.. I've had much worse .. given we had a party of 10, the staff was amazing, very attentive despite having a full restaurant. If in the area, make sure you check it out! read more

Service was on point. A conference just got out when we were there Friday night and the place was packed. The ambiance was great, classy and cozy. Food was just ok. I really wanted to like it however it was overpriced and not much to it. My daughter and I both ordered the smoked wings and it's great that they put 4 sauces on the side but the only buffalo one was a bit too hot for my liking. The two bbq based sauces is what I ate but again nothing that I felt I had to go back for. My daughter didn't care for the combo of smoke and sauce. My boyfriend and I went to dinners for a late dinner. We made a reservation and were seated about 10 minutes after arriving. It was pretty clear they were understaffed, but I try not to rate poorly based on that - the pandemic has been especially rough on restaurants! The vibe and decor was modern casual with low lighting. We saw sports fans at the bar, a group of girlfriends celebrating, and a few families. It definitely did not feel like a hotel restaurant even though it's attached to the... westin? The menu had great variety. I chose a vegetarian quinoa chili and it was delicious! My boyfriend and I split the cornbread but we were not impressed. Luckily the manager spotted us the appetizer because of our long wait for the food (again, being gracious because pandemic!) We ordered drinks and they were strong pours. Overall it was 4/5 but I will be back once things are in working order and they have more staff. I feel like this place could be great and we caught it on an off night. I'm not one to typically leave bad reviews and can be understanding that sometimes you are busy, short-staffed, or maybe someone is having an off night. But this time warrants a review. We stopped in for an after Indians game cocktail and of the 3 cocktails ordered by our group, 1 was bad but drinkable and the other two were the worst cocktails I have ever had. The Shots Fired tasted like dirty pool water, the Beekeeper tasted like they mixed up the proportions of the ingredients, and the "word" cocktail tasted like rotted fruit. I've had incredible cocktails at the Fort Wayne location. I don't know if it was an off night or if the bartender is just unqualified to make those cocktails but it was truly horrific. read more

Decided to try this place on my birthday. It was easy to find and so was parking. Upon walking in I realized it was very classy and I was a little underdressed. We were guided to the hostess table where we waited for atleast 5 minutes while she was in the phone and only acknowledged us to give us a finger to wait. Someone else then proceeded to greet and sit us. A server came to give us drinks and let us know she was not our server but was going to look for him. He appeared and told us he would continue to let the lady serve us. Ok!! He then returned to tell us he would be serving us. He didn't seem happy about it. We ordered the truffle chips, pork nachos (asked for no guacamole) and the fried chicken plate. All of the food was amazing! We also ordered 3 drinks which were great as well. The food was so good I started looking at the website the next day only to realize they were running a special on the fried chicken plate to include a free cornbread which we never received. My friend and I came here while we were on a trip to Indiana. We ordered the Roasted Brussels Sprouts as an appetizer and they were really good. They were sweet and had a nice amount of crispiness. For my entree I ordered the Vegetable and Quinoa Chili. I really enjoyed this, the texture of the quinoa was really nice, I had never thought of using quinoa in chili. It is a little spicy but definitely manageable (and I'm not good with spicy food). My friend got the prime rib dip sandwich. They had forgotten the horseradish cream at first but when we asked, they brought some out. Thanks to yelp, we also enjoyed free cornbread. Only ate a bit of it because we were worried about too much grease, but it was good. We then shared an order of shrimp and grits. It was delivered in a very warm bowl, and the broth was very much covering everything, not like shrimp and grits we were typically accustomed to. It was good, but I really would've enjoyed them more if the broth had not been so predominant. There were four large shrimp in our order, then it also had bacon and other meats in the gumbo like mix, which were also tasty. It's always sad when the starter is the most appetizing part of the meal. Salad was not a wedge and was served with a single slice of under cooked bacon on top cold. Chicken was I marinated and unseasoned, white meat was dry and tough. Served with warmed honey with red pepper flakes floating in it that they claimed was "hot honey." There was no heat, just sweet. Lastly- our server warned us that ordering a double cocktail meant he had to charge double for rocks (ice). Meaning a double on the rocks automatically gets $8 added to the cost of your liquor. If you're looking for brunch recommendations, look no further. Conners has your back. If you're a first timer at conner's for brunch, i highly recommend either the buttermilk pancakes or the breakfast burrito: A dynamic duo i don't think any other restaurant in Indy can compete with for brunch. Buttermilk pancakes: WOW WOW. Fluffy (but not so fluffy that makes you think they injected some weird stuff in it to make it fluffier than normal) and literally melts in your mouth. At first i wasn't sure how i would like the lemon syrup but it gave it such a subtle taste that really balanced well with the blueberries. Not super sugary and left feeling very happy. Breakfast burrito: WOW WOW, again. It's got the sausage, the egg, the guacamole, the salsa, the cheese and like 4 other ingredients i can't remember but it sure tasted like Mexican heaven. Cons: the patio doesn't open till 10am? And neither does the bar? Okay so I'm very confused by this... conners is mainly known for their brunch bloody Mary's and brunch menu.... yet the only place in the restaurant that you can sit in before 10 am (sorry i like to start my day early sometimes, don't sue meee hehe) is in the dungeon. Literally the middle spot of the restaurant that has about 2% natural light coming in. I don't want to still feel like I'm in my room at 11pm when I'm getting brunch. Popped in here the morning after an event for some breakfast before heading home. This restaurant is inside the downtown Marriott. Thanks to yelp, we were treated to a cornbread skillet. The cornbread was perfectly baked with a little extra love coming from slathering it with some delicious butter. I got the Benedict with asparagus which was sublime. The eggs were cooked perfectly, the hollandaise was rich and creamy. Instead of Canadian bacon, they use a thick cut bacon that was divine. If you love eggs benny, order it! Hubs had the chicken and waffles. Make sure you are prepared to wait a little if you are going to order this because everything here is made fresh. The chicken was moist and the breading crunchy. The waffle was supple yet it held up to the spicy chicken. The bourbon maple syrup that accompanies this waffle is perfectly balanced. This was my first time to Conner's Kitchen + Bar. I was looking for a reasonably priced meal that wasn't far from where I was staying. I searched Yelp and decided to give them a try. I was impressed. The entrance was welcoming with the fire by the patio area. The inside was a little loud in the bar area but I think it was just due to happy hour guests just enjoying a drink after work. The dining area is well decorated and music is not overbearing. The hostess was pleasant and she sat me in a booth which I prefer when dining alone. My server has been very welcoming and helpful during my dining experience. She does well at her job. She always made sure everything was to my liking but also respected my personal space. Just wanted to update my review to include my server's name ( Taylor C). She was really great! I received the order of the lump crab hush puppies as an offer they were doing on Yelp for checking in. They are very good! I didn't want to stop eating them. I ordered the steak frites as my entree and requested it to be cooked medium. These steak came out perfect. The garlic butter finished the flavor of the steak as it was very tender and full of flavor. The fries were very hot and fresh. If I travel here again, I will definitely dine here again. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who doesn't want to dine in chain restaurants but also don't want to pay a lot for their meal. My first impression, I was underwhelmed by the size of the menu. I really couldn't find anything I was interested in ordering. We ordered the lump crab hush puppies to start and they were good. The citrus dipping sauce is what set them off. I also ordered a cocktail. Good and strong. I looked over the menu for like 15mins trying to make a decisions so I just settled on a burger. We had dinner here last week for the first time and had a pleasant time. The restaurant is gorgeous with low lighting, soft candle light and an upscale atmosphere with 4-top tables and comfortable booths. The bar area reflects the upscale dining area decor along with a gorgeous patio including beautiful fireplaces, comfortable seating, nice lighting and toasty heaters. The menu offers appetizers with the ever popular Lump Crab Hushpuppies, Smoked Chicken Wings, Cornbread Muffins and Loaded BBQ Pulled Pork Nachos to name a few. Try one of the four salads (Spicy Tuna Poke) or two sandwiches (try the P.I.G) and very diverse entree plates with Southern Fried Chicken, Enchiladas, Turkey Meatloaf, Baby Back Ribs, Fish Tacos and a Filet Mignon round out a few of the entrees. The bar offers several craft cocktails ($9-$12) and craft beers on tap ($6) along with bottles and cans ($6) plus an extensive list of wines ($10-$14 per glass) are some of the full bar options. My husband enjoyed his Sam Adam's Cold Snap. He ordered the P.I.G. sandwich with fries. The P.I.G. sandwich is smoked pulled pork, thick-cut bacon, aged swiss, Carolina gold sauce and bread & butter pickles on soft, lightly toasted roll. The sandwich was very flavorful with a generous amount of pulled pork, the thick cut bacon was a nice addition and the roll held up well. The Cucumber Basil Cooler was a very refreshing beverage. The tomato soup was a nice consistency, rich and tasty. I also had the Lump Crab Hushpuppies which consists of sweet corn, jalapeno and pepper jack cheese served with citrus aioli. I really enjoyed the nice balance of flavors in the hushpuppies but not a fan of the citrus aioli but others were. Bobbie was our server and he didn't miss a step. My colleague and I ordered sticky brussel sprouts, smoked chicken wings, a double cheese burger and P.I.G. The brussel sprouts were chewy, and the chicken wings needed more time in the smoker and the oven, as they had little smoked flavor and we're undercooked. The cheeseburger was okay. The P.IG. reminded me of the sloppily put-together sandwiches you get at Panera and was served with cold fries, which were replaced. Guess I ordered the wrong things! read more

I'm so glad that Conner's took over the old space where Champions used to be. We have so many sports-themed bars that a contemporary American spot fits nicely here. We visited Conner's on a Saturday during brunch. I highly recommend any of their starters! The crab cake hush puppies are amazing, and you can get them for free if you check-in with your Yelp app (or another appetizer or dessert)! They are filled with crab, jalapenos, and corn alongside an aioli for dipping. There were several brunch entrees that appealed to me, but once I spotted the lemon pancakes, it was over - a nice big stack of fluffy lemon pancakes with blueberries inside. If there's a more heavenly combination than lemon and blueberry, I haven't had it (although blackberries & lemon is pretty amazing too). They came with a side of lemon syrup. I ordered a side of bacon as well, and it was done perfectly, not too crispy and not too chewy. My husband ordered the breakfast burrito and took home half to have later (which he thoroughly enjoyed). The drinks were superb. My favorites are the Blackberry Spritz (a take on the traditional Bee's Knees with blackberry) and the Peppered Paloma. Husband had the Irish Breakfast (Jameson, Baileys, Kahlua, and a coffee ice sphere) and a Bacon Bloody Mary. Conner's has a great selection of cocktails overall, and if you're there during the week, they feature one of their standards every day for $5! Great deal! The restaurant didn't seem overly busy, but the drinks were a little slow to come out so I'm not sure why that was. I'm always happy to wait on a cocktail as I know they take time, but my internal timer told me these took a little longer than usual. Not a big deal but just something I noticed. If I don't have to pay for parking, I'm a lot more inclined to head downtown for food/drinks! Conner's will validate parking at the hotel garage when you dine there. First off, this will not be good. It's rare that I am critical of any establishment but without doing so would do a disservice to potential customers. We fully understood that there was a huge convention across the street as well as a convention in the hotel where Conner's Kitchen and Bar is located but we had no expectation of the extraordinary failure in receiving our meal from the time of ordering. Yes, we observed folks seated after us ordering and then receiving their food before we did. That's not their fault but heck, they were done with their meals before we got some French fries. We had hoped that our server Kathy would be occasionally checking on us to see whether we received any food and if not, what the status of the food was but it obviously didn't happen. Our order consisted of cornbread and a half order of pulled pork nachos, followed up with two cobb salads and a fried chicken dinner. We sat at our table at 9 pm and I'm writing this at 10:12 pm and our meals are still MIA. Update at 10:25 pm: Order not here but our Kathy informed us that the order was originally sent in however the printer ran out of paper and it wasn't printed. She added the order again but we're in the bottom order of priority to the other orders. She did bring us some cornbread and fried chicken that she got from another order. At 10:30 pm, Kathy informed us that she asked the kitchen to put the order in the front and is getting grief from them. Not sure what our next option is and she profoundly apologized and asked if we needed any more drinks but we declined. At 10:50 pm, we called it and informed Kathy that we were leaving and apologized again saying we wouldn't be charged for anything but to give the restaurant another chance. Utterly disappointed is an understatement. The manager came out and said it was a glitch in the system. Apparently it affected only some orders and ours happen to one of them. While it may be an isolated incident, it was obvious they were understaffed due to worker shortage and were simply were over their heads. This is a great spot for date night or just a night out in general. It's a little pricey, very classy, and very dim lit to set the mood. Our server was great, she was informative and friendly. I ordered the wings and a side of fries...the wings were delicious. Highly recommend ordering those as a meal vs. an appetizer. They have a great menu to choose from as well as a wine and cocktail menu. It did take a very long time for the cocktails to show up compared to the timing of the food. Parking could be expensive and hard to find on a busy Saturday night and reservations are recommended. Overall, an okay experience. The wings were the best thing we ordered. The fries weren't good, reminded us of fast food fries. The tacos weren't good at all. I ate them because I didn't want to waste my money but they were just edible, that's it. The corn was just not done right. I don't think it's complimentary to the tacos either. The chicken strips for the kids were no better than fast food strips. They look and taste the same. The drinks weren't the best either. We order amaretto sours. The bartender could have done better. It's like you're paying for just sour. Maybe, it's an indy thing. The dessert was good and hot which I appreciated. The only two reasons for any stars is the wings and the server. He did pretty well.
