I will be relying on Arlington Appliance for repairs from now on. My dryer, which is at least 9 years old, stopped blowing heat. I called Arlington Appliance and, because it was a busy time (right before Christmas), had to schedule an appointment four business days later. This seemed reasonable to me because a broken dryer isn't a crisis--you can hang-dry or go to the laundromat in the meantime. Bill and Bruce arrived within the two-hour window they'd promised. They took apart my dryer and identified the heating element as the problem. Bill thought he might have the part back at his shop, so the two of them zipped off and returned within 15 minutes. He didn't have the part, but said he could get it that same evening and return the next day to install it. He asked for a $100 deposit (check) towards a $300 total charge for parts, labor and scheduling fee (which is waived if you end up needing real work). Bill came back on time the next day and had the dryer running in no time--two days before Christmas. He even gave me some advice: let the dryer cool down 10-15 minutes between each load. The last thing I'll mention is that Arlington Appliance doesn't have a showroom. Bill told me that the manufacturers control showrooms--what's being pushed, where the merchandise is positioned--and that these demands often conflict with what the customer actually needs. I think that, because Arlington Appliance is a repair service and not a sales-driven business, you're going to get a service more interested in squeezing all you can get from your existing appliances before resorting to buying something new. This is both economical and better for the environment. While I hope that I don't have to call Arlington Appliance often, I know I'll be in good hands when I do.

I had to find the discount on their website separately because they do not offer to me automatically. I am not happy with the communication and the thermostat replaced. It is a rental property. Unlike other companies I used, I never received a call 30-60 mins before the technician arrived. So I was not sure if he showed up or not. Whenever I called the company, I was talking to the teams handling customer service, not the technician directly. So there is always a middle man between the tech and me to translate information. The diagnosis was on Wednesday. I approved the quote right away after I received it. The repair was the next Thursday 8 days later. The appointment was initially scheduled for the morning between 9-12. I then got a call to say he could not make it on time and would be there around 1pm. I got a tenant message to say he still did not show up at 2:30PM without any call to inform he would be further late. What I am most disappointed is the new thermostat installed during this repair! He replaced my old programmable thermostat with a new FocusPro N100 Non-Programmable Thermostat 1H/1C. When every household is switching to a smart thermostat, he installed an ancient manual controlled thermostat! I would appreciate he could give me some option to select different types of thermostat. I would have no problem to pay for something better or even buy a smart thermostat myself. I called the company to complain about it. All I got was it is fully functional and it is more modern than my old programmable thermostat! I could not be more disappointed about this. Despite they fixed my AC, I do not feel comfortable to use this company again and to recommend it to anyone else if this is not addressed.

She figured out my real needs and showed me all the options. We eventually settled on a Weber option that gave me everything I needed at a lower price point. Thank goodness for the experts at The Bar-B-Que Barn - they saved our BBQ this weekend!…read more I have an extremely old Skyline Series Weber grill, and when we ran out of propane the new tank didn't fit the hose on the grill. A trip to Home Depot yielded an adaptor that didn't fit, and with 3 hours till BBQ time, I was getting desperate. I called The Bar-B-Que Barn and spoke with one of the guys there, and when I described the problem he knew exactly what I was talking about and how to fix it. I ran over to their store in Arlington and in five minutes he had produce the piece that I needed to convert the hose on my old grill into one that would fit a standard propane tank, and even put some sealant on the piece so it wouldn't leak when I installed it. He gave me a quick tutorial on how to perform the minor surgery needed to install the new piece and told me to invest in a 9/16ths wrench and I was on my way. After arriving home, I was able to fix the grill in less than five minutes, and thanks to The Bar-B-Que Barn, when 20 guests showed up for dinner the grill was cookin'! If you live in Arlington, Cambridge, Somerville, or anywhere in the surroudning area, I highly reccomend a trip to The Bar-B-Que Barn to fill or exchange your propane tank or stock up on grill accessories! They might even offer you a hot dog fresh off the grill while you are there :)

I have only used the project functionality once before but ended up using someone else. My normal repair go-to did not pick up the phone so I thought why not? They literally responded in under a minute. What's that saying the early bird catches the worm? Normally, I check out the business and see how many reviews they have do a little research but I was in a hurry so I asked how much and when they could come for a refrigerator repair. They said they could come the same day, And the price was right comparatively. (Diagnostic fee is 95$ which will go towards the repair cost.) There was some back-and-forth about when they could come and we decided on the next day. Adam showed up on time, was very polite and fixed our issue! Our Refrigerator had a lot of condensation and it turns out the fan was not working. He could've just said we needed a new fan and charged us for it, but he went beyond that and went through the back panel and noticed there was something unplugged and then the fan started working in our refrigerator is working great! I have so much respect for honesty and integrity. I highly recommend using their service I believe from the other reviews that they are a new service and they deserve all the new business! We were informed apart would be ordered, fast forward 1 month later with me calling multiple time and being told the part was coming. Third call over a month later I was told that the location had been closed and they could do nothing for me, I was directed to call their head office 888-998-2011. Love this part, the answering system asks for zip code of your location before you are able to talk to someone come to find out there is no service anywhere near my home anymore so it hangs up on you. I was able to get thru by pressing the number if I was calling from Canada. You are now sent to a scheduling service only. I have had them escalate this issue 3x now with zero response from Mr. Appliance their answering service say they have no other way to help and we have been forced after over a month without an oven to have another company come in and pay another 350.00 diagnostic fee and a 800.00 repair bill to finally get our oven fixed. We are also still out our original 350.00 with no way to contact Mr. Appliance corporate (so much for customer services). They are part of the neighborly company and their slogan is "It's Not Done, Until It's Done Right!!" Never trust this company, they have actively set their system to give customers as little customer service as possible. They closed the location with total disregard for their customer, leaving us and I'm sure other's out of pocket and with their repairs not completed.

He quickly assessed that the drain pump was not functioning correctly. He gave me a honest quote, and he asked if I wanted to make the repair. After discussing with my wife, we agreed to get the washer repaired. He had the part with him and got to work to replace the part. In addition to making the repair well, he spent time to check that the washer worked after replacing the part and that it did not leak before closing the washer up. He then moved back the washer in place even though I am the one who moved the washer in the first place. He gave me a 1-year warranty on the repair as he used a genuine LG part. He was professional and courteous. I would definitely call Home Pro Appliance again for any appliance problem.
