Tonight, pulling up to the drive through window to pick up my food, I was greeted by an employee saying " why you have that attitude" my response was I just about to ask you the same thing! This was my favorite cook out until yesterday .....I got there at 10:30am and didn't get my food until 11:05.....and they messed up my order....but the biggest issue I had was..the cook was at the McDonalds beside the restaurant ...and while I was waiting on my food the lady that took my order then walked over that same McDonald got a frappe and walked right back over ...like bruh...you leave in the middle of my order being prepared...I'd never experienced such bad service at a cookout ...I definitly Calling coporate on this one...THE KAREN OF YELP STRIKES AGAIN!!!! read more

First trip to North Carolina and I was told I must try Cookout. Wow, I was in for a treat. For a very affordable $7, I was able to get a burger, quesadilla, cheese curds, and a shake. Unbelievable. The food was good quality for fast food but the star was the shake. I ordered the banana fudge, but with 20+ flavors, it's impossible to choose a favorite. Milkshakes are great! Service is a different story. The cashier was very nice, however the gal that handed my husband our milkshakes was incredibly rude!! She handed the milkshakes to him sideways so they were leaking, and she did not bother to give us a straw, spoon or even a napkin. While waiting for the straw, she very rudely asked, "Are ya'll waiting on something", and she told the cashier that we didn't ask for a straw (initially). We didn't realize we were supposed to make a special request for a straw when ordering a milkshake. I love the food, but we will never go there again because of that rude employee with a very bad attitude. Cook Out and all these other fast food restaurants need to step it up with training their employees customer service skills. Today I stopped at Cookout. I ordered a barbecue sandwich, small fries and strawberry milkshake for a total of $12.31. I live 3 minutes from cookout. When I opened my bag I had a cold sandwich that juices had run into the bun till it was so soggy I had to put in garbage and eat the rest with a fork. My fries were totally cold and soggy. There was a small paper container of fries in the bag then a bunch of fries just thrown loose in the bag. This was food that I wouldn't feed to a dog. Ordered two bacon ranch wraps and the lady repeated my order and it didn't sound like she said bacon so I repeated it. Everyone knows the cook outs speaking sucks. Then she repeated my whole order and she said Cajun wraps and I said no bacon wraps and then she repeated it again and said bacon wraps and then I pull up and there's only two cars in front of me... I waited thirty minutes in the line. 20 of those minutes there was only one car ahead of me. Not sure what the issue was but no matter what that car ordered it shouldn't have taken them that long to deliver the order to them. I've had issues at this cook out before but never to the point that I was upset. I don't usually get fast food but after a long day of work I didn't want to cook so I wanted FAST food. There was nothing fast about this establishment. Then I got home and I noticed a sauce in my bacon ranch wrap which was not at all ranch, and took a bite.. guess what it was a chicken Cajun wrap. I'm new to the area and have tried Cook Out a few times before in various locations throughout NC, but none of them have been quite as subpar. I went through the drive thru line with my mom. The intercom was broken and we practically had to scream our orders for the cashier to hear us. Once we had pulled up to pay for our order, we were greeted at the window by a woman with a totally unamused look on her face, not wearing her mask properly (it was literally below her chin-- nose and mouth totally exposed). She rudely addressed my mother and gave her a lot of attitude, which pissed me off-- NOBODY disrespects my mother. She also made a face at us and walked away from the window for over 10 minutes, leaving us there without our food. It was super immature of her, and the worst customer service experience I've ever had. As for the rest of the staff-- we did not interact with them personally, but none of the 5 or 6 people we saw preparing our food were wearing gloves or had their masks on correctly. I'm not sure if it's because my standards are more extreme due to being from the midwest (we had pretty strict covid restrictions there), but it really just seems like nobody around here gives a rat's behind about health or disease prevention. This cookout is probably the cleanest location that this restaurant chain has to offer. And if you come earlier on in the day, the food is typically the freshest. Getting a cookout tray here is such a deal considering you can get two sides and a drink with your entree. You literally get more food for less if you opt for a tray whether it be the regular or the junior kids tray. I love that this restaurant carries cheer wine pretty exclusively and sometimes I will come here just for a drink! If you have not had their milkshakes, do it. For $3 you get a shake with the freshest product and you can add as many toppings/flavors as you want. I typically ask to get it on the thicker side. read more

The staff is extremely rude. I waited in line for over 20 minutes for a milkshake. I pulled up to the window and noticed that they were having trouble with the milkshake machine. I waited for 5 minutes before I flagged down a staff to let them know that I would be happy to cancel my order if the machine is acting up. They said no it's working it just needs milk. Forced to sit in line for nearly 30 minutes because the restaurant decided to stop taking orders 30 minutes before closing without any sign, cone, or any type of notice.
