Cook Out, please do better--especially when it comes to the double fries option. I'm seriously reconsidering eating here anymore because the portion size doesn't reflect what you're actually paying for. When I order double fries as both of my tray sides, I expect a noticeably larger amount than a single order, but that's just not happening. During my recent visit, I ordered two trays: * Hamburger tray with bacon and ketchup (no cheese), double fries * One tray with a Coke, the other with a Sprite The food was fine--nothing wrong taste-wise--but with prices going up, the portions should match, or at least feel fair. It's also time for Cook Out to consider adding a rewards system for loyal customers. With rising costs, some kind of loyalty incentive would go a long way. read more

Glad to have stumbled upon this place in the middle of the night. If there are milkshakes involved, count me in! You walk up and order in a window and I'll call your number when it's ready. Food was plenty of fall and the person who took our order was very sweet and told us about the area. Food was terrible and the service at the window was rude. She was not informative about the menu when ordering and was willing to charge me for almost double for my food instead of offering a tray. This was my first time here and apparently it is protocol to try and up the price if someone doesn't ask for a tray. Bryan scammed me out of $3 which isn't a big deal or big amount but when I pulled back up to ask him about the exchange he was shaking and made no sense at all. He is definitely on drugs and is a scammer and I've been to this location over a dozen times and never been asked to pay twice for anything ever. He made no sense at all and I will be disputing this extra charge and if I can I will make sure he's charged. He didn't expect me to come back around I could tell by the way he was shaking when I handed him the receipt. I remained respectful with him because I don't want problems but this can't go unresolved. I've never ever had any fast food employee or restaurant employee ask for my card twice. This Memorial Day weekend we decided not to travel and stay local. We normally don't eat fast food chains but my son requested Cookout since all the restaurants were booked or crowded with long waitlists. I like that this particular Cookout has two lines to order which cuts down on the wait. The line was to the road but moved fairly quickly. We were actually in and out in less than 15 minutes. We decided to order the Cookout trays which is the best bang for your buck. It comes with a meat selection and two sides and a drink or milkshake (additional charge). Today we went with the Big Double Burger (add cheese & bacon) with fries, sweet tea & Cookout Style hotdogs (2) with onion rings and chocolate milkshake. I asked a question about a menu item and they couldn't be bothered to answer the question but instead had 2 people barking at me about what sides I wanted vs answering my first question. Terrible all around. 1) Burger tasted like it was old and bread was stale. 2) I was supposed to get $6 in change back and the cashier handed me a $1. 3) Then the cashier didnt even realize I ordered a drink. He handed me my bag of food, closed the window, and was looking at me like why are you still sitting here. After a minute he slide the window back open and is there something else you need. 4) after leaving I realized they didn't even give me the right toppings on my burger. Nothing beats the shakes ! My husband loves cookout because he loves to try different flavor combos. This time he got mnm's and cookie dough and he loved it. For as long as I have been going to Cookouts I have never tried the chicken sandwich so that is what I did this time. I got the grilled chicken sandwich cheddar style. It was really good. I still love the burger version a little more but this is a great alternative if you do not want beef. The onion rings are always on point, cheese fries and the many other options possible for sides with your "cookout tray". Had a tight schedule for lunch considering I had to go by Best Buy and pickup a replacement lens for my camera and I had an appointment back in the office shortly after 1pm Everyplace else that I considered was backed up and all had a much deserved reputation for being slow. Desided to try Cook Out since it had been awhile. Two drive through lanes and I pulled right up to the speaker on the outside lane. They came on the speaker immediately and took my order and I proceeded to the window and paid for my order. Nothing fancy this time, just two hot dogs all the way. Totaly time spent was less than 2 minutes and I was back on the highway. Still hot when I got back to my office and the dogs were great. I've said it before...I like consistency. This Cook Out falls in line with the other area locations that I've visited. A busy Friday around 11:30 & this spot was hoppin'. Luckily, Cook Out believes in the two line system, which gets more people taken care of, quickly. I ordered a regular hamburger tray, cook out style, along with onion rings & a corn dog & Carolina's own - Cheerwine. Burger was cooked throughly & the toppings of slaw, onions, mustard, & chili were perfect. While I only had about four onion rings *sad face*, they were crunchy & the onions held up well inside. The corn dog wasn't burnt - yay! - & was cooked throughly. Cheerwine had that burst of cherry & quenched my thirst. I can appreciate that this location always stays clean. Really good burger, amazing prices. We just moved here and have lucked out to try this place. The Cajun fries were delish and the I loved the burger. I wish the hush puppies came with some honey butter but they are still good along. The shakes are good but could use some extra mixing. You can suck a large peach chunk through a straw, or large piece of Oreo cookie. We went Sunday after church and it wasn't too busy at the take-out window. I think the girl was new cause she needed some help doing our orders. And she was very pleasnt. In her defense there we're 6 of us.Me, my wife and 4 very hungry teenage boys. They all got the box deals. I got 2 BLTs fries and a sweet tea. The sandwiches were great and the fries were hot. The boys all got some kinda floats that had just a little pop in it. But when they went up to ask for more, no problem, and no charge. All in all , the food was great. Service good. Eating area was clean. And as you pulled into lot it was very clean, unlike some fast foods you go to. The only problem. Is in Mooresville it's hard to cross the road from business driveways. So they are starting to make the driveways to go in from 1way and only go out 1 way. So , if you want to go west you have to go find a place to pull a u turn or pull in a parking lot to turn around in. A minor inconvenience for some good food. At least I think. Cookout is exactly what you would expect from a drive-thru only fast-food restaurant. Slightly above average food but at extremely reasonable prices. Cookout trays are an awesome deal, basically priced accordingly to ordering the same number of items from the "dollar"/value menu from other fast food chains but I definitely prefer the food at Cookout over the value menu at other places. My biggest complaint with Cookout is consisitency! You'll quickly learn not to expect consistency if you frequent this location. One visit your order might be perfectly prepared. The next visit you might forget to check your order and get home to find you're missing items, there's no cheese on your CHEESEBURGER, your bacon is undercooked, or your side items are burnt to a crisp. These are all problems I've encountered more than once! Do yourself a favor and always check your trays! I posted a picture of the blackened corndog I received in my tray today. Needless to say, some quality control is definitely needed! A literally black corndog should have never been placed inside of my tray and I know it would have taken all of 30-60 seconds to throw the burned item away and prepare another one. But I also realize most minimum-wage (or very close to it) employees simply just don't care enough about their jobs to correct a simple mistake like that unless they have a manager looking over their shoulder. Cook is basically a bbq and grill place. I went and order a BBQ plate (pulled pork, fries, and hush puppies), a burger, and a shake. The pulled pork was juicy, but not really enough sauce on it for my liking. The burger tastes authentic, but was average. You need to order exactly what you want on the burger (I couldn't find the list of choices, but that's my bad). The really great part about this place is the shakes. I thought no they have around 40 flavors. I had a blueberry milkshake and it was fantastic. Let me preface this by saying that I rarely eat fast food, and even more rarely would find fast food worthy of a Yelp review; however, this place is on another level. Cook Out was introduced to me this weekend. I've never lived anywhere that had this and quite frankly, I'm not sure how I have lived without this. I'll keep it short and sweet: the burgers, hot dogs, fries, and hush puppies were all SO. GOOD. This didn't taste like typical fast food items. The burger and hot dog tasted like you made them on your backyard grill. I also had a banana milkshake and it was one of the best I've ever had.
