I had the cajun chicken sandwich with bacon wrap and hushpuppies and upgraded my drink to a caramel chocolate shake mmm everything was delicious! You get a lot of food for the price! better than any fast food with more choices to choose from. My 3 kids ate with only one $4.99 meal for lunch. I've been here twice in the last week. Don't get the hush puppies or you'll be addicted. The burgers are delicious, the corn dogs are excellent, and the hush puppies are stupid good. The first time I went, everything was hot. The hush puppies actually melted the styrofoam container the food was in. The second time, they weren't as hot and fresh but they were still awesome. The burgers actually taste like they've been grilled which is a nice change from regular fast food burgers. The staff wasn't super friendly either time. I had a couple questions about the menu but the people working drive thru seemed annoyed. Oh well, I'm sure I'll master it soon because I'll be going more than what is good for me. read more

If this place had a dining room, I probably would eat here everyday. The prices are good, the food is tasty, the service is nice and fast. What more could you ask? This is almost a weekly stop for me, as they are one of the few quality fast food places that stay open late enough on the nights I get off later than 10 p.m. I would beg the management to perhaps remodel or open a second location with a dining room like other Cook-Outs I've seen. So I thought about what I wanted for a good 30 mins. Ordered a ranch wrap with No cheese and No ranch. Got my bag. Ticket said no cheese and no ranch. And guess what's smothered all over it. Friggen melted cheese and ranch! There was no trying to pick it off because it was covered in ranch. Like what if I had an allergy and didn't check to make sure they didn't fuckup? So, this was our "second" Cookout experience -- the first being in Georgia. When we saw the signs and pulled off the exit, I expected a place to sit down inside -- not so much here, as it's a drive through only with some outside chairs (annnnnnnd it was monsoon style raining outside). Having a hankering for some delicious food, I ordered my new normal -- a double burger and two bacon wraps as my sides. My wife, a grilled chicken sandwich, and my daughter two hot dogs. This go around, I ordered up a caramel fudge shake as well. The food? .. Delicious. Having previously tried, and hated, the fries, we bypassed on the option; however, the grilled chicken sandwich was a great plump chicken breast on a bun, the hot dogs I never sampled, as my daughter devoured them again (if you saw my other Cookout review, you'll know I didn't get to taste them then either), and the burger and bacon wraps were totally on point. The shake however? .. Hmm .. What words can I describe the shake .. .. .. .. Fan-freakin-phenomenal! We're talking real caramel in the shake -- every taste of the shake had caramel in it. It was glorious. I've become a true fan of Cookout. The food for the price is fantastic. Eventually, I'll explore more of the menu, but for now .. Mmmm .. We received the worst customer service today and it was actually from a manager. We placed our order, drove up to the window, person looked at us and cut his eyes. Then we waited 4 minutes and no one came and even took our money. 4 cars passed us in the other lane to that window to pay. We tried to knock on the window, no response and he was standing there, so we slid the window open about 1" and asked if we were at the correct window for payment. The man was EXTREMELY rude in answering and SHARPLY said " DO NOT TOUCH MY WINDOW " When he did take our money, I asked if he was the manager and he responded " Yes, one of them." I enjoyed the Cheerwine float flavor, but it was full of ice cream without enough soda to balance it out. There are 2 drive through lines open now but the parking lot connects with an Autobell, which makes the already tight squeeze even more crowded for driving. Be very cautious when driving through the line and trying to leave because people speed through the parking lot and Hwy 150 is usually packed with cars and right next to this location. read more

I have heard about the place and was looking for a very quick lunch stop. I opted for the BBQ plate even though I know they are known for their burgers. Overall, it was good. We love cookout for a "fatty" meal. Way better than fast food, fast, cheap, and delicious. I always get the Cookout tray, and get it with a huge tea or upgrade to a milkshake. This Cookout location is the best I've ever visited and it's consistently good. The servings of sides are generous, unlike some other locations. The food itself is always fresh, hot, and delicious. The milkshakes are so good and so cheap too. We appreciate how fast, efficient, and friendly the employees were in the drive thru. Finally after hearing about this place from a friend, we decided to give it a try. Well, when we pulled up we were pretty much surrounded by rednecks. I guess rednecks like cookout, I dunno. But there was this dude spitting out his drink, GROSS! Oh well, we got our burgers and fries. They have very low prices, a burger for less than $4. I got my burger cheddar style ( there like 5 choices) with bacon cheese and onions. It was the 1/3 pounder which was way to big, it weighed more than that. It was the best burger ever! Tastes grilled and had great toppings. It was very messy with melted cheese running down my chin, but the mess is worth it. Fries are awesome too. I cant say much about the shakes, shakes aren't my thing but people say they are good. So, I would go here even with the uh atmosphere. I don't know how everyone else loves this cookouts service. Just because i am a teenager and go here to hangout occasionally doesn't mean this cookout doesn't suck. I've gone through the drive through on a multitude of occasions and been immediately let down the moment i get out of the drive through, realizing they messed up my cookout tray completely. i got a chicken sandwich and not a cheeseburger once. how do you even manage to do that?? i get the same thing every time, cheeseburger with ketchup mustard and pickles, a chicken quesadilla and fries with a huge sweet tea. the amount of times they have completely fucked my order is beyond acceptable. One night i was with my mother, and both our orders were wrong. I got out of the car, walked past the line of people, took the trays to the window and said these are both wrong can you fix them and handed the girl my receipt. she was very sorry and tried to fix it. i waited and stood there a good 20 minutes, even the people in line waiting for their food had sympathy for me. the man next to me said "that's ridiculous you've been here forever just for some damn cookout". you're right i was there for what seemed forever for such simple orders. and to top it off, i got the trays back and mine was still wrong. i was so mad i just wanted to leave, but i did not because i am a picky eater. the moral of this story is, this cookout sucks. read more

Their food is of better quality than other fast food establishments and it is cheaper. Their "tray" meals are an incredible value. A bit of warning, late nights can be a teenager hangout, but it usually does not get rowdy. The Cookout in Statesville offers free kids meals on Tuesdays with a purchase of an adult meal. Milkshakes are the best in town, but the managers are as unprofessional as it gets. I went there one night and some kids were lighting a few harmless fireworks behind the parking lot and the managers came out screaming and yelling horrible profanity. I would expect more from adults. The kids were doing no harm to my family and I and we actually enjoyed watching the fireworks. We did have to wait for food which included two milkshakes and a burger. However that was probably because the two managers that came out was causing them to be shortstaffed. read more
