Not a whole lot to say about Cooke's but it's a high-profile lobster roll place on Cape Cod, perhaps my preferred new one. While prices have gotten too high in my opinion in the lower Cape where we vacation, for these days it's okay in Orleans for whatever reason. The food comes out pretty quickly I found. You get what you want with a great amount of flavorful lobster meat which is how it should be. The onion rings are also noteworthy and should absolutely be tried!

Very quaint restaurant in a perfect location for friendly service and great food! Plenty of parking and food is abundant and super fresh and tasty for the Cape! Enjoy the best seafood your way.

Good seafood spot in Cape Cod. Stopped by here for lunch. Got the hot lobster roll, fish and chips and clam chowder. The lobster roll was quite good though not hot. The fish and chips and clam chowder were pretty good. Service and ambiance was good. They have wine and beer to choose from and plenty of parking outside.

Lobster Taco (1/2) and Fish Taco (1/2). We split up the orders so everyone got some of each.

We love Cooke's. It's a must do when on the cape. The fried clams are the best. They have fabulous lobster tacos. So much lobster for the price. We also love their onion rings.

First time trying scallops so I'm not sure how they're supposed to taste. Got the scallop roll and they were lightly fried, which I like over heavily fried, but they were watery and the bun was already soggy when I got the roll so they may have been made from frozen. It came out within 5 min of ordering. I would come back to try other menu items since other reviews are good!

The seafood is DELICIOUS. I have childhood memories from family vacations in Cape Cod patiently waiting in line at Cooke's for their fried seafood goodness. I visited from NYC recently and the food is as tasty as I remembered all those years ago. The calamari was well seasoned and light. My friend had the fried shrimp and she tore her food up. Things to keep in mind: The salads are really big. Two people can easily share one of order of it. The service was also great. When we entered, we were greeted with a smile and a warm welcome. The staff were professional and polite. There is a parking lot and indoor and outdoor seating available. After eating here we walked across the street to Ice Cream Cafe for vegan ice cream.

We were hungry but not looking to break the bank. And we had been out doing touristy things all day so were not appropriately dressed for a fine dining establishment. My wife had this place written down as a place to try. We pulled into the parking lot a little after six and it was packed. Good sign. There was a line stretching from the door. We didn't know, but everybody makes their order at the counter, chooses whether or not they want to sit inside or out and then their dinner is delivered to their table. We both chose fish and chips. I'll have to say this is some of the best I've had. The fish instead of the batter is definitely the star of the show. The portion was more than enough and was only $17. This is a fast place to eat and a great place for families. They also supposedly have the best fried clams on the Cape.

It's a consistently good place to order at the counter and get your tray of food. Nothing fancy about it.

Soggy fried food. Scallops, fries and onion rings all soggy. Cole slaw was warm. Will not return.

If you are craving an absolutely divine lobster roll on the Cape, you must visit Captain Cass Rock…read moreHarbor Seafood (also known as Cap't Cass)! Located at 117 Rock Harbor Rd, Orleans, MA, it's a quintessential, nostalgic New England lobster shack. It features the BEST lobster rolls we've ever had! Believe me, over the past six decades, we've eaten hundreds of lobster rolls. We've tried them from Maine to Gloucester, Mystic to Newport, Block Island to Hyannis, and Provincetown to Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket. Cap't Cass beats them all! The outside of the shack is an absolute Cape Cod icon! The exterior walls are covered in vibrant, colorful vintage fishing buoys, and beautiful patriotic bunting hangs right above their big "Coffee & Beignets" banner. Seeing that bright red "OPEN" sign lit up on the white siding made us so excited to head inside! Cheers to a fantastic meal! Dave and I had a wonderful time clinking our glasses and getting ready to dive into our food. Sitting right by the window, we could see the bright green buoy hanging outside, while the wall next to us featured some awesome decor--including big lobster claws and a beautiful painted fish plate! We even brought along our trusty Cape Cod summer guidebooks to plan the rest of our perfect weekend getaway. Our lobster rolls were piled high with massive, fresh chunks of meat. We paired it with a side of perfectly crisp, golden-brown onion rings, a splash of fresh lemon, and some creamy coleslaw. Every single bite was pure heaven! Our server Quinn added to our meal with her pleasant personality, attention to detail, and excellent service. The inside of Captain Cass has the best nostalgic charm, too! They have a great chalkboard wall featuring their cute "Cass-A-Boo-Boo" lobster mascot, framed historic "The Cape Codder" newspaper clips, and vintage buoys. They even serve those fresh beignets all day and have their official Cap't Cass hoodies and shirts back in stock! You can get the rolls served two ways: traditional cold with mayo, or our favorite- warm and hot with butter. We are already planning our next visit to this local favorite! Bonus: It's just a quick ten-minute drive from our favorite inn, the Ship's Knees Inn in East Orleans. Big thanks to our innkeeper friend Pete Butcher for highly recommending it. We are so glad he did!

Capt Cass is back under new ownership!…read more The restaurant has been redone while remaining true to its history. The counter seats and chalkboard menu are still there. The tables are new and more comfortable. The entire room is bright and inviting. There also is a large outdoor seating area with a take out window to order food. The food is good, similar to the "old days."
