    Slawsome Chicken Sandwich

Great chicken sandwiches! My favorite is the Slawsome: huge juicy fried chicken breast, sauce, and slaw. Fries are crispy on the outside and pillowy on the inside. Everything's served piping hot. Friendly service, large portions, and reasonably priced.

The fried chicken tasted crispy plus you can choose 2 sauces. I ordered takeout and it came out fast, about 10 minutes! Despite how small the store looked outside, there are plenty of tables inside.

Quick service. Must bus your own table. Got the dark meat chicken thigh for $4ish after tax and tip. Got it at 3 of 4 spiciness. Good enough for me. My friend got 4 of 4 and he was sweating and delusional. They can also up it to 5 of 4 for maximum spicy. Many benches inside and a couple outside.

Saw a reel on social media and I had to try. Did not disappoint. I tried the 3 piece combo with 2 sides. Awesome value. Had mac and cheese, mash taters with gravy, delicious. The coleslaw was a disappoint. It was supposed to be vinegar based, I assume since no mayo. It had no flavor at all. Might have been an off day. I look forward to going back and upping my spice level.

We had a layover at king station. We decided to run over and grab a bite. We were not disappointed, we were actually blown away to find this good of a meal. Don't judge a book by its cover, when you see the Location and the outside it's not in the best part of town. It does have parking out front and a nice bathroom. We ran through her twice, it was so good we grabbed some on our way back. The staff both times were super friendly even calling our baby by his name. We enjoyed our layover and will definitely be back!

I had passed Cookie's Country Kitchen many times before I finally got to try it. Usually it was too early in the morning, but I'd looked at the menu in the window and scoped out what I wanted to try. This evening, the stars (and buses) aligned, and I finally got in. I walked into an open and warmly inviting space with several tables and a counter at the far end. I was greeted with a smile and an invitation to take my time. She asked about the book I was reading while I perused the big menu board. I admit, I was tempted. The chicken sandwiches look amazing. I wavered...but then I remembered. The Poutine Bowl was what I was there for. She smiled when I ordered and said "Oh yeah, that's good." Ten minutes later, I confirmed it - she was right. So very good. My picture only captures the top couple layers. Within the bowl are big pieces of tender, boneless fried chicken, over a layer of delightfully gooey, melty cheese curds, over yet another layer of crispy fries. All covered with just the right amount of rich gravy and flavored well. The Canadians might have invented poutine, but Cookie's might have just perfected it. A couple words of advice, if you're going to try the poutine bowl too. Get a fork - it may be possible to eat it with your hands, but I'm but actually not 100% sure about that. Get some napkins, because even with a fork it's probably going to get messy. And if you can, try to take your time. It's a lot of food, and worth savoring. It might have taken me a while to try Cookie's Country Kitchen, and already I can't wait to go again. Maybe I'll even eventually get one of those sandwiches.

What sets this place apart from your ezells' or KFC is that you can taste the flavor on the outside and inside. It's packed with flavor - borderline salty for me but that's just me. Got the level one spice and that's spicy. It's a little greasy so make sure you have napkins ready. I got the drumstick and it wasn't dry at all -come on, it's hard to mess up with dark meat. It's in the pricey side and the neighborhood to get here is shady.

Excellent service and chicken sandwich prepared perfectly. Only things missing are some seasoning to the breast prior to breading and a better sauce as you can't really taste the sauce in it. Casual atmosphere type ambiance. Prices decent. Clean restroom.

New lunch spot in Pioneer Square. My colleagues and I were walking to another eatery when we spotted a huge sign that read Cookie's Country Chicken, which is how I learned the restaurant that was here before closed. And what's funny is that the restaurant that was here before, Pioneer Square D&E was known for their fried chicken lunch special. It's only telling that Cookie's Country Chicken would take over this same spot. We must've visited on opening day because there was filming here of the kitchen crew and staff on a Tuesday during lunch hour. The owner was really nice and was checking in with patrons dining in and delivering food to tables. The place is a casual spot that features ample seating for small groups and individuals, with a lot of people getting takeout. The menu is straightforward, with just three lunch combinations, three chicken sandwiches and a handful of different sides to choose from for your combo. It's all about $15 before tax and tip, which is a cheap lunch in the Seattle area. You order and pay at the counter and pick a table afterwards where staff delivers your food. I ordered the Barn Burner chicken sandwich, which is a fried chicken breast sandwich that's spicy with iceberg lettuce, pickles and mayo. For this sandwich, you can choose your spice level, and I went with two stars, which was not spicy at all. But that didn't bother me because the chicken breast was juicy and flavorful, and I am not a chicken breast fan. I usually find it bland, but this one had good flavor and was perfectly fried. I especially liked the pickles with, for some crunch. Bun was nice and soft. And the sandwich was a good, big size. For a side, I chose the fries, which were double fried, which is how I love my fries! They were crispy and had a nice zest to it, and loved the rowdy ranch sauce I got with. My colleagues all enjoyed their lunch too. The mashed potatoes and gravy side looked hella good, but now that I had the fries here, I'm hooked. I would happily come back here, especially when I'm working in the office, which is just a short walk to here. Cookie's has a solid fried chicken sandwich that'll curb that fried chicken hankering. I'm glad they opened up in Pioneer Square.

I've had sandwiches, bowls, tenders, thighs and drums. They're all good. The sandwiches are the high point in my opinion - particular shoutout to the Slawsome and Hot Honey. They're big and messy but tasty. Can't go wrong with them, and I frequently can't help but order one. The bowls are powerful. I've had both kinds on different trips and they're hard to do in a single sitting, whereas sandwich + side is not. Just be warned. The sides are straightforward - what you see is what you get. They tend to be a little more basic, or classic if you will, than the sandwiches. I like this, since they serve as a side/counterpoint. We tend to get the slaw and pot of gold. The fries are the battered style which are very good and combo well with the rest of the menu. Takeout times tend to be accurate and the staff have been working hard but helpful every time we stop in. Most importantly they've been consistently good every time we go - and often during peak busy times, so that speaks well of their kitchen staff. Top marks all around. The move to the new spot didn't slow them down a bit, so make sure you check the address before going if you haven't been in a few months.

We had visited the Ballard location before they had moved to their new home. Stopped by the new location a few weeks ago. The new location is definitely in the sketchy part of Ballard, but it was nice to have a designated parking lot, rather than trying to find a street spot at the old location! My husband and I both ordered 3 tendies, in cayenne heat (level 2 spicy). Didn't seem spicy enough for my liking, so next time I am going to try the level 3! The chicken is delicious! It's crispy, juicy and flavorful. They offer a lot of sauces to choose from too. Although if you ask me, if you order any spicy level, the chicken doesn't need it! My husband is a dipper though and he likes his sauce. His fave is the Honey Mustard. (I opted for a garlic aioli. I love garlic but it was a little much). Since I was feeling like a comfort side, I selected the potatoes and gravy. (I have also had the fries and the macaroni and cheese). They have a good selection of sides. We love Cookie's chicken!

They have a super affordable meal deal on the app and their combos are also affordable. We ordered on a kiosk but you could order through a cashier if you wanted. I went with their bowl combo while my boyfriend got their tacos combo as well as an order of their chicken tortilla soup and a free chicken avocado taco. I tried to order on their app but not sure if there was just an error but they were also extremely busy from when we arrived and it did take some time to receive our food. Despite how busy the employees were, they never forgot to be courteous and kept a positive attitude. Also, on the app, they don't have horchata but next to the fountain drinks, there is a horchata dispenser. The horchata is very refreshing and the perfect amount of sweetness for me. When we did receive our food, it smelled amazing. My avocado chicken taco was on the colder side but not sure if that is how it is supposed to come out like that or hotter. It was still good though! The soup was comforting and absolutely my favorite and the craziest thing is I don't care for Applebee's chicken tortilla soup this was way better in terms of flavor, presentation and quality. My boyfriend really loved his tacos and I loved my bowl, I could barely eat half of it because it was stuffed! We did ask for all three salsas but when we asked for more, they gave us the same one so not sure if they ran out or just so busy that they just gave us whatever.
