I recently visited Mt. Joy in Capitol Hill, and I have to say, it was a fantastic experience! I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich, and it was absolutely delicious--crispy, flavorful, and just the right amount of heat. The fries were the perfect complement, perfectly crispy and seasoned. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and the staff was friendly and attentive.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I can't wait to come back and grab another chicken sandwich. Heard they are opening up a location in SLU which makes me extra excited since it'll be closer to where we live! Also pretty cool but they have this tv screen with some trivia. If you sign up, and get the questions correct, you get a chance for free food!

Anytime my son ask for a milkshake we know where to go Mt. Joy! The strawberry Basil and Vanilla are unbelievably bold and delicious. The customer service is always great, the staff always aim to ensure every order is served freshly prepared and hot upon receiving. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The dining space is really small, but very accommodating if it's not busy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My husband loves the wings, and chicken sandwich while my kids enjoy the tenders, fries, and shakes. If you're looking for a great milkshake with chicken Mt. Joy is the place; I highly recommend!

So... what the hell happened to this place? First time back in a while and wow, what a disaster. Came in craving the Mediterranean bowl; they're out. Grabbed the chicken sandwich and cauliflower bites instead. Both were basically salt bombs. Chicken? Ice cold. Cauliflower? Lava hot. The staff looked absolutely miserable, which honestly, I get it. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The whole vibe was just off.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Not exactly the triumphant return I was hoping for.

Yummy and crispy chicken sandwiches. A simple concept and well executed by Mt. Joy. Very happy we stopped in to get a quick sandwich here before a concert that was at a nearby venue. Our sandwiches were hot and fresh not to mention very filling. Worth grabbing one when you're in the area!

Very good fried chicken restaurant that also serves sandwiches, fries, salads, shakes and related fare - excellent service and [[HIGHLIGHT]]inside or the interior atmosphere is bigger than you'd initially expect.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Recommended if you are in Seattle's Capitol Hill neighborhood!

Nut allergy friendly: No issues with the order I had. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was pretty empty when we arrived at 7:45PM on a Saturday evening.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Took 13 minutes to get my order of a Spicy Chicken Sandwich. The chicken sandwich was average. I got white meat and the sandwich felt a bit small for the price. I don't like that the spiciness came from the sauce rather than spicy breading. I'd come back for a fast meal but wouldn't go out of my way for it.

I love a good chicken sandwich, so while working in the Capitol Hill neighborhood I decided to check out Mt Joy. The sandwich and the fries were good, but not great. I did like that you could order either white or dark meat, that was a unique customer perk. You enter, order from a kiosk, and wait for your number to be called out. The seating area was small, but well lit and with a warm interior design. Overall, it's solid, worth checking out if you are in the area. But I would not say it's a top chicken sandwich in the city.

Tried the spicy chicken and portobello sandwhich here as well as the new cauliflower bites. Really really liked the cauliflower bites which come with garlic aioli, the chicken sandwich was alright but didn't really find it very spicy and wanted more of a kick. It didn't really taste spicy to me and was just more flavor. The portobello was good as well, kinda wish there was more of a crunch. Overall the service was really good and really fast, you order through tablets and the food comes fast after. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Cute little restaurant, would go again if I wanted a healthier chicken sandwich or a mushroom burger.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Great place to get a quick chicken sandwich and fries. Chicken sandwich was pretty good, I enjoyed how you can pick either white or dark meat. The ordering system was very easy and smooth. Highly recommend and I will come back.

13 bucks for just a meh sandwich. I do like how fresh the tomato and lettuce were on the chicken sandwich. The chicken little (tenders) was really dry. I'd advise against it. Maybe they overcooked mine but yea it was so dry, I fed the other two tenders to my dog. The customer service was really what saved this place. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambience was good.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] One of the sodas was all carbonate Water. I believe it's the Lemon lime by Jones that had no syrup so was not that good of an experienced. I wouldn't come here I'd just go to Dave's a block away. That's way better. I think it was 7.99 there for a chicken sandwich when ordered there last month.

Chicken littles, white meat chicken sandwich - IG @bougiefoodieboi

This is a fairly fast causal chicken restaurant in Capitol Hill. I like the fact that they close relatively late, so once you go out to bars and want late night food, this can be a option. I went here to try the white meat classic chicken sandwich and chicken littles with chipotle lime and herb ranch sauce add-ons ($1 surcharge). The chicken overall is really good - fairly juicy and the breading is seasoned well with a lot of herbs. I love the sauce they used in the chicken sandwich, and it is a better version of fast food chains like Chick-Fil-A. The chicken in the sandwich in particular is much juicier than the chicken in the chicken littles (which are chicken tenders). There is a slight spicy kick to the chicken in the chicken littles. I love the sauces that we got - with the herb ranch a slight winner over the chipotle lime as the ranch cools down the slight spicy kick.

Everything is locally sourced and it's delicious. We've been supporting this restaurant since it was a food truck by the deserted Starbucks and we love that they have a store front now. It's a bit pricey but in my opinion worth it. There are lots of chicken sandwiches on the hill and this is one of the best !

The restaurant itself leaves a lot to be desired, but I'm not asking too much. I believe the owner said he was trying to revamp the place. I hope that the area comes alive in the future years, that should help. Here's the issue though, this is the slowest spot ever. I've waited 30 minutes for fries - FRIES. I don't mind waiting for food, but it should remain reasonable. There were only two or three people working, and one man did tell us this, but I need to be honest - this was on Super Bowl Sunday. No one was able to get anyone a beer from the tap for 40 minutes, the food took forever and it appeared that online orders were being prioritized (which makes sense, you make as you get orders coming in, but that puts your in person customers in an odd and sometimes frustrating position). To be honest, I probably wouldn't have minded as much if I just had some fries to snack on. I didn't mind as much this one time because I was just happy to find a place to watch the Super Bowl Half Time show, but other days, it's a little hard to look past. I wish this business the best, I live too close to not hope for its improvement! Looking forward to updating my review. At the end of the day, if you're hungry, it's late, this is your spot.

The oysters were the main draw for me, and they were totally worth the visit. Old Stove serves them with a savory watermelon sauce in addition to a traditional cocktail sauce--eaten together, it's a flavor explosion that I can't quite describe. We also enjoyed the garlic everything fries, which were delicious! We just had to try a flight to sample the brews. There are some really good beers available here, especially the Belgian blonde, citra pale ale, and the stout. I did not really care for the seasonal sour (grapefruit, I think)--to me, it just tasted like a sour and nothing more, but someone with more interest in sour beers would probably enjoy it just fine. Despite the busy night, our server checked on us regularly and was very personable, stopping to chat with us about the local sports scene. There's plenty to look at, inside and out. If you can snag a seat outside, you'll get to enjoy the waterfront. Inside, the decor is industrial but fun. Not sure if this runs all the time, but when we were there, the tvs were playing vintage beer ads, which was quite fun. They also sell some pretty good t-shirt designs. Overall, Old Stove Brewing is the perfect combo of good location, good food, and good beer. Definitely recommend a visit when in the Pike Place area!

It's not my favorite Hawaiian by any stretch, but it definitely does the job for visitors to the food hall. Since the seating can be a little limited at lunch time, the first challenge is just simply finding a spot to sit. Avoiding the peak lunch hour is recommended, but this probably be better if traveling in a group. When in doubt, take it to-go. Teriyaki chicken ($14) is one of their most popular dishes and an obvious nod to Seattle's thriving scene. Their katsu loco moco ($16) is hearty with the gravy, but sometimes a bit too heavy with the green onions. Personally, I'm a fan of the kalua pork ($13.50) and the spam and eggs ($11.50), but the garlic shrimp ($18) was a bit lackluster. They also serve burgers, which are actually a bit underrated. Their double cheeseburger ($11) features nice size patties with a goop of American cheese. The musubi is nearly $4 each, but are also mini-bricks of spam and rice. Lastly, it doesn't take much to realize the prices might feel a bit high here. They're even higher on the website, which i would recommend using for most folks, but recently I noticed various selections are listed for hundreds of dollars each. Perhaps the Lao Burger served there wasn't as juicy and succulent, with perfectly crisp smashed patties as I recalled? Or perhaps Taurus Ox just serves a completely inferior version. I revisited for a Friday late dinner to reach the bottom of things. This was at around 8PM and the place was surprisingly busy, with a fully running kitchen and almost all seats taken. It's a pretty small restaurant to begin with, but since the food comes fast, people don't typically stay too long. By the time our food arrived, a table had cleared up for us. Lao Burger ($18) - This Lao Burger is just as good as my first visit. Absolutely perfectly fried smash patties, completely with lacy, crispy edges that provide texture and an intense caramelized meaty flavor. I've already described the burger in detail in my previous review - what I can say on this visit is that the burger is basically identical, indicating that Ox Burger is consistent with cook and construction. The burger as a whole has the perfect moisture level with plenty of unique funky, umami-full flavors that make each bite a delight. As with my previous review, two things come to mind that detract just a tiny bit from my full enjoyment. Firstly, the burger as a whole is a bit salty for my tastes, necessitating several trips to refill my cup of water Secondly, the piece of sliced pork belly included is kind of vestigial. It seems to be only there to add additional salt, because neither the flavor nor texture are very apparent while eating. (5/5) Deluxe ($15) - This burger is somehow way messier than the Lao to eat. Upon lifting it up, a mess of watery mustard/mayo mix drips onto the plate. I think it might be from the extra moisture in the tomatoes and lettuce. And yet, somehow the bun isn't soggy at all. This burger is otherwise excellent, combing the same picture perfect smash patties as in the Lao, with the classic fixings - American cheese, bacon, pickles, and plenty of veggie mix. (5/5) I'm glad I gave the Lao Burger another chance. It's now one of my favorite burgers in the city. I'll definitely be coming back to Ox Burger for more. The progenitor, Taurus Ox, remains on my not recommended list though! Bathrooms - Single unisex room.
