The outdoor setup is ideal and the views of the river are awesome! The watermelon cosmo was sublime and the appetizers were so tasty. Coopers has done a very nice job of opening during covid. They have an outside deck and bar; tables socially distanced and care taken for sanitation, which I really appreciated. The food was also really good; there were three of us and I think we all enjoyed our dishes. I will definitely come back. My only suggestion is that the wait staff (at least the one we had) might be a bit better trained on the menu. Our server couldn't tell us what the Cooper cheese sauce was or whether it could be on the side (it could) and couldn't say whether the fish tacos were grilled or fried. And it didn't occur to her to go ask someone in the kitchen. So we just took a chance and it worked out well (they're grilled, and my friend said delicious). So there was that. But overall I hope they make it thru this really sucky time we're in; they're really trying. read more

I've been here before and had a better experience. This Sunday I went with 3 friends. Hostess was lovely servers were fine. I ordered French toast and when I got it it was saturated in thick sugary syrup. In most places you get to put your own syrup on. They took them back and the returned with dark brown burnt French toast with some sort of caramel syrup on the side. This was worse then the first!!! Do NOT order French toast! This was such a disappointment. The side salad had leaves that were slimy. The server suggested that it was probably the dressing. But slimy lettuce leaves have nothing to do with the dressing. The hummus was absolutely delicious... And then I discovered that one of the carrot sticks was rotted on one end. We were meeting some out-of-town friends and told them that we had never been here, that it was new and we wanted to try it out. That's always risky but Cooper's came through with flying colors! We went last Thursday, and they said that it was their first full week of being open. We can't wait to go back! Craig was the bartender and also our waiter and he was super attentive, always with a smile. It is such a great and unique atmosphere, so picturesque. The apps, our drinks, the view and our meals were all very good. While the atmosphere is great, I can't say the same for the food. Ours came out cold after waiting 50 minutes for crab cakes and a burger. I also wasn't impressed with plastic utensils, plates and cups for the money I was paying.. lastly we made our reservations that night about an hour in advance and when we got there they didn't have it because they don't update the printout durning the day and had to squeeze us in. We went to the planetarium and were hard pressed to find a nearby restaurant that was open this Sunday. We landed here and what fabulous luck! I called in advance to see if it was wheelchair accessible (which it is) and Wyatt (who also ended up being our server) answered and was very nice on the phone. There was little info on this restaurant bc it apparently just opened last week. Getting to the food... the calamari is fantastic. Perfectly cooked and both rounds disappeared right away. I had the glazed salmon, which was perfectly cooked atop a bed of asparagus risotto. The menu pricing is incredibly reasonable. Wyatt was very attentive and made sure we were well accommodated. We enjoyed a really nice ladies night out on their deck. Our waiter Leon was very attentive. The atmosphere is great, relaxing and meant to be outside dining. Drinks and food were casual but good. I can vouch that the calamari, the crab dip and fish tacos were excellent. There are two large bar areas that are semi covered and a large deck overlooking the river. I can imagine the bar scene here was way better before Covid. The only thing I would change is the disposable cups, they blew over in the breeze. read more

We had my supervisors retirement here last night and it was a hit!!! The service was great, attentive, kind, and helpful. The food was very good we had a buffet style dinner with vegetable lasagna, chicken piccata, veggies, salad, and roasted potatoes. We just had our daughter's first birthday party at Cooper's and we could not be happier. The food was excellent, the room was excellent, and the staff was amazing. They were attentive and accommodating at ever possible level, and made sure our every need was taken care of. The owners and management worked with us in every way possible, and even when something seemed difficult, they came through. We sat in a covered outdoor room with sprawling views of the Delaware River, on a gorgeous Sunday in June. I honestly couldn't be happier. I will continue to book parties at Cooper's Riverview every time we have the need. I am really glad we decided to have our event there. read more

Under the new ownership the prices have increased a bit but they have tried to cater to the demographic in the area such as the baseball crowd, college crowd and state workers crowd. I enjoy the ambiance and happy hour specials. However, the food leaves A LOT to be desired. The happy hour buffet is overpriced. The other items on the menu also appear over priced and are not good. Zero stars as far as we are concerned. After a trying week, we were so looking forward to a relaxing date night and our first time at Cooper's Riverview and we could not be more disappointed. We made reservations for 7 pm and were seated in the dining room right away. A pretty view of the river. That we were seated at a filthy table was excusable as an oversight. An easy fix once our server arrived. However, our server never showed up. No one. We waited for almost 20 minutes. No one. No offer of water, silverware. Nothing. We are patient people and give everyone a pass because help is so hard to find. This was, however, unacceptable. Tables around us were active but we were invisible. So we left after 20 minutes of being ignored. On the way out, we asked to speak to a manager. Twice. And twice we were denied. Its unfortunate. read more

We had brunch. The room was nice with a great river view and guitar player. Most of the party had veg omelets with fried potatoes and pork roll. Those were very good. Unfortunately I opted for scrambled eggs and bacon. There were supposed to be three eggs but there's no way what I was served were three eggs. They were cold and dry. The bacon was undercooked and also cold, as was the English muffin. The muffin was so hard it would be impossible to bite into it. They need to do better than this. This was my second time at Cooper's for lunch. I'd preface this review by saying. We were the only table in the restaurant at 12:30pm. Our waitress was extremely slow With others just standing around. My Bloody Mary was served with a rotten piece of celery that should have never been served. The crab cake sandwich was uninspired and tasted horrible. Beyond the food and drink, the service was horrible and slow both times. This venue should be packed for brunch, especially on a nice sunny day. It's unfortunate and screams of poor management. read more

I came here with friends after work because we usually hit up Cheesecake Factory or another chain spot but we wanted something different. I found this place on yelp with almost 5 stars so we tried it out. BOY WAS I PLAYED. The place was empty which was fine but .. weird. We ordered drinks. My friend got a vodka club - she receives it and takes a big sip. It was tequila and club. She takes back to bar and they apologize and he starts to make a drink and is pouring the vodka in and says "say when". We ordered nachos - really plain chips with some shredded melted cheese and a huge dollop of sour cream. Not great at all- but they're chips. This is where is gets scary. We all ordered the chicken thumbs; my friend takes a bite and says "does this look cooked?" I immediately think she's being dramatic and I take her nuggets to look. I cut in half and oh my god, it's literally raw. Like clear chicken where you can see the lines and it's jelly and slippery like you just pulled it out of your fridge to cook. We instantly lost our appetite and showed the waitress. She says "that's fucking disgusting let me get my manager". She comes back over and says THE MANAGER REFUSES TO COME TO THE TABLE. Now granted we are all store managers of the same company different locations so we are appalled because we never in a million years could imagine not coming to a customer when they had a problem. The waitress looks defeated because he won't come take care of the situation. She says she's so sorry and takes off all of our food and says she again agrees it's absolutely disgusting. I went to the bathroom at least 3 times, tipping her $5 each time. I planned on tipping her, but the second I walked out of the stall every time she demanded a tip from me. The fourth time I went to the bathroom, I walked out of the stall not tipping her considering I already dropped $15 on her. This restaurant needs new management and workers. I went in yesterday after work to grab a drink with my BF we sat at the bar for 10 minutes without even a hello I'll be right with you so I decided maybe I should give the bartender a break so I stayed another 5 minutes but then I saw the bartender go over to a elderly couple at the bar and ask them if they would like to order anything else without ever asking us what we would like or even a simple hello would've sufficed. I left without service & a very bad taste in my mouth simply because I know I am not invisible I saw the bartender glance at us and continue putting away glassware. This visit took place on 4/20 at around 6:15p.m. with only 4 other patrons at the bar. I've worked service jobs before and the way the bartender and bar back completely ignored us was unacceptable. I can't help but to think the only reason to ignore us was because of the color of our skin but that should never be the case because you never know who someone is or what they do for a living never judge someone by their looks. Also the host was very friendly I'll give them that. But everything else is trash & I have a friend who worked in the kitchen for 2 weeks but decided to quit because of how they were treated being one of the only people of color in the kitchen. BTW the kitchen is absolutely disgusting they barely change the oil trying to conserve money and they only reason I go there is for the drinks but they will never get a dime from me again. This isn't even the first time I've encountered this kind of treatment I went on a Friday night when a young Caucasian female was bar tending and she was rude as ever and she was very lucky I was in good spirits that day but we will leave that alone. Other than that I have one tip for this establishment if you plan to continue business in Trenton, NJ you can't show your racism so blatantly when 86% of this population is African American. I attended my brothers engagement party at this venue and would not recommend anyone hosting an event here. The food was not fresh and was very clearly re-heated. Everyone at the party's meal was cold and seemed that the trays were taken from the fridge, popped into the oven for 20 mins and then served to guests. When brought to their attention, they made every excuse in the book instead of apologizing and trying to correct the situation. Was told that the food somehow got to be freezing cold on the walk from the buffet table to our seats..... on top of this, the venue itself was 62 degrees and guests were freezing and wearing their coats while eating. It took us speaking to 4 different people to even get to speak with the general manager. Joe, the kitchen manager, claimed to operate the building and we found out this was in fact not true and later spoke with a man named Doug who promises to fix this situation with a refund. Will post again if this proves to be true. At this time, I would highly recommend not hosting any event here and take your special occasions elsewhere. read more

I experienced the worst Mother's day dining experience ever. My daughter made reservations for a party of eight, three weeks in advance for their advertised Mother's Day Brunch, featuring their regular brunch menu of Eggs Benedict, French Toast, and Steak & Eggs. When we got there we were led to our table and was advised where the line was for the buffet started. The buffet consisted of scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, and little triangles of waffles. All of it cold. No Eggs Benedict, no steak and eggs. No cups available for coffee. I've had better complimentary brunches at Holiday Inn. This was their regular $28 per person buffet, not their advertised brunch from a menu. My daughter voiced her frustration to the manager, and he stated that the scheduled Mother's Day brunch was cancelled that morning. At first he offered free cocktails, but at that point we were not in the mood for alcohol at 1:00pm. He came back and advised that the chef would cook up some items from the regular menu. By that time some of us had already eaten and were ready to leave. To be fair, the bill was adjusted for those who didn't eat, and a $50 gift certificate was added. Be advised that the buffet is different from the brunch and they should state that when you enter, especially at $28 a pop. read more

Let me start by saying the food was good. This is the only reason I didn't give 1 star. Unfortunately the service was not just bad but flat out rude. We ordered takeout. One if the items was the salmon burger. I ordered without the roll and was told "we can't do that. What????? Why can't you serve without the roll. We were told it would be ready in 30 minutes. We arrived 35 minutes after the call and went to the bar as instructed to pick up. When I told the bartender that I was picking up takeout his very rude response was that I just called it in. I explained that I called it in 35 minutes ago. He literally just walked away from me and continued to ignore me until the food came out TWENTY FIVE MINITES LATER. A good bartender would have apologized for the delay and offered a drink, at least one that wants to make $. He was rude to other customers also. To top it all off there were 2 patrons at the bar who paid their bill and left. Two of the bartenders were just standing around talking and never wiped down the bar or the chairs. I went with this place to book my daughters sweet 16 and unfortunately, I wasn't very pleased with my experience. While the venue was very nice and spacious for many guests a few problems occured that caught my attention. To start, we booked the venue through Dave or David (still not sure about his name since it changed each time we talked) and he was not very helpful with what was gonna happen the day of the party, or with making sure everything was in order during the weeks leading up to the party. His main concern was money, which is understandable, but as soon as we paid he didn't contact us much for anything else and the other person to contact for party's, Melissa, was rarely there for whatever reason, so getting in contact with her was next to impossible. Dave/David didn't talk to us about the details of the party until my daughter had to write down questions and ask him. Continuing, we paid almost $4,000 for the venue with food, DJ equipment, security and staff services included, which isn't too bad after looking at other venues. However, no security guards were present that my guests and I could see even though the staff claimed they were present. Also, David failed to tell us about a rock concert happening in the open area of the building until again my daughter brought it up. My guests also had to pay for parking despite David telling us this wouldn't happen and even after my guests told the parking guard about the party. Despite all this, the food was amazing as well as the staff service but if I could redo it, I would've been on David's back or simply have gone elsewhere. read more

The location is set along the Delaware River, with such a great view and plenty of space it's a wonder why the bar/restaurant is empty most days. Until I went for Happy Hour today. I work within steps of Cooper's along with over 1000 state employees. I would think the location would be ideal to capitalize on a "captive audience". I mean who doesn't need a drink after work! Wrong, I was one of 3 people in the entire place between happy hours. Disappointed with the menu but mostly with the non-existent Traditional Happy Hour discounts. I paid $11 for cocktails and $10s for appetizers. The only thing discounted was one wine selection. The bartender was disengaged and on his phone the whole time. While I appreciate being left alone, there was no attempt at "upselljng" through good customer service. Such a missed opportunity with me and over 1000 people who walk/drive right past its doors. Hope Cooper's last longer than Katmandú and Rho. Perhaps a marketing team or partnering with local promoters for themed weekdays might gain some traction to this awesome, yet under-utilized prime real estate. read more
