However- every time we listen to superb bands like Seven Band , 80's Undercover my ears are bleeding. The indoor rooms acoustics are too loud (bizarre considering the usual age of the crowd) and over modulated. I don't know what system the sound person is using but same issue at Salty's in Belmar. We decided to try this place because it was open and airy but still protected from the elements - a good locale for pandemic dining. Yes, it's a very nice facility. They get one point for that. As for the rest... We started with sangria - at $9.00 a pop. In most restaurants, an order of sangria is quite large because it's a mixed drink. Not here. It was served in a small plastic cup, half full of ice. We felt ripped off. The food was edible but I want better than that when I eat out. Lobster mac & cheese tasted like it came out of a box and then they dressed it up with some kind of shellfish - no idea if it was really lobster or not - and then they topped it off with.... onions??? Who puts onions in mac & cheese? The fish tacos were clearly sitting out for awhile before we got them - the swirl of guac topping on each taco had crusted over. The chicken fingers - again, heat & eat style fresh from your grocer's freezer. We also ordered crab cakes. They tasted good - probably because they had been in the fryer - but because the two that we got were patty-shaped and identical in appearance, I suspected they got their start in a factory somewhere. The service was slow. I couldn't figure out why. There were a lot of servers there and the restaurant was half full due to COVID restrictions. We were there 45 minutes before our drinks arrived. The appetizers didn't come until we finished the drinks - which, granted, didn't take much time to drink because the portions were so small. It took forever to get the check as well. I guess the waitress knew that since we were a large party, she was getting a mandatory tip regardless of what she did. I saw her several times, en route to a table with food or drinks in her hand, stop to chat with another server while whatever she was carrying got cold or warmed up. Not impressive. read more

Came here on a Saturday night around 6:00 for drinks and apps and to listen to the live music. The outdoor dining area is gigantic and very spacious. Very upbeat vibe. Made a reservation through open table. Upon arriving, Coopers did not have a table ready. Very disorganised hostess. We paid $15 each for the buffet which was cash only (annoying). The food was awful. Freezer type microwaved chicken wings, mozz sticks, nachos. They also had a pasta station with watery tomato sauce, fish, raviolis. Sad showing of food for a buffet and very low quality. Didn't get offered any drinks of any kind by staff. No table service. Gorgeous venue- they need to know whether they want to be a bar or a restaurant. Huge bar and indoor/outdoor area. Stunning view of the water. The either need to hire some qualified chefs and bring up the food quality, or retire the food portion and just be a bar or a club. Definitely won't return for food. I would love to see an amazing place like Killarney's or Hamilton Tap & Grill take over and do the amazing space justice. read more

We were really looking forward to trying this place, since we were going to be in the Trenton area. Seeing as how we were going to be going to have to drive 40 minutes to get there before we went onto our final destination, we called ahead and made a reservation for four for Saturday night at 6:30. Received our confirmation and so we planned the rest of our night accordingly. Upon arrival we were greeted at the door by a gentleman that asked if we were with the party, to which we replied, no we have a reservation for four. At this time we were told sorry, but the entire building has been rented out for a party. Why would you take a reservation knowing you are booked for the evening. They offered us coupon for a free entrée when we returned another (Friday or Saturday) night. The coupon was not going to help us on a Saturday night at 6:30 find a place to eat in a strange city that didn't have a wait that would cause us to miss our reservation at our final destination. We came for brunch. Its like they went to a Holiday Inn Express, grabbed the trays of food, and brought them here. Food was inedible. If you have any dietary restrictions, you cannot eat. This place has an amazing view, right on the water with a nice outdoor dining area...they had a live band playing for part of the night and before that they had todays hits playing softly in the background. It created the perfect atmosphere to relax and meet up with some friends. They had happy hour deals from 5pm-8pm, happy hour only have deals on beer and 3 cocktails as far as drinks are concerned, but they also offered some of the appetizers for only $5 each and the flatbreads were only $7 each. The appetizers were mostly good; my group ordered the mozzarella sticks which were good but nothing special, the calamari was over cooked and came with a ton fried peppers like more fried peppers than actual calamari, the boneless wings were good the coopers sauce was a really nice mix of sweet and heat, and the pretzel bites were amazing warm and soft without being too salty. The drinks were got were mostly okay, although the red sangria left a lot to be desired, plus we were disappointed to hear they had beer only in cans, no bottles. The waitress was nice, but honestly seemed to lack training...we had to ask 3 separate times for small plates, 2 members of our party never received silverware, and she brought the wrong drink to our table. I'd be willing to try here again since the view and atmosphere was nice. All in all it's a nice place with mediocre food and service. read more

We had a reservation for the Mother's Day Buffet and were excited to try their food. Well "once and done" is definitely the theme of my review! The server - while very friendly when we saw her - was virtually non-existent. She finally got to our table about 15 mins. after we were seated by the hostess/greeter who was not the friendliest person and should have been in a backroom position not dealing with public. The online description mentioned bottomless mimosas and bloody marys were included and once there it was only mimosas. No big deal since we weren't big drinkers but would have liked to have at least our water and soda glasses refilled when we finally got them. Then we finally got up to get food on our own (no one said go ahead to the buffet) and found that the potato steamer tray was empty, the eggs benedict had two dried out versions and one single dried out egg yolk in a steamer tray. The bacon was so hard and crispy once I bit into it I could barely chew it and the edges almost cut my gums! The ham and the prime rib at the carving station was so incredibly dried out that no amount of au jus could have made it edible. I enjoyed the family gathering, the view of the river was gorgeous but neither is enough to make me go back and eat that slop again. read more

And the BUFFET... well above what anyone might consider "standard"... everything was fresh and delicious! Breakfast items included lemon-blueberry French toast (my favorite), waffles with all the fixings, fresh eggs, etc. And the lunch items included hand-carved beef, chicken, and sea bass! I came in for dinner with my sister and we opted to sit outside. The outdoor patio was packed and almost every table was filled so we were seated close to the stage. As we were walked to a table that had very obviously not been cleaned we realized there was a swarm of flies hovering over the table as well as in the general area of the table. The hostess noticed that and said to us "if the river flies bother you, you can go sit over there and pointed to another dirty table that was directly below the stage. We chose to just stay where we were given that the other option was not any better and in hopes that the flies would go away--they did not. While we looked at the menu a white couple were seated right next to us and the same hostess who had sat us made sure to wipe their table off before she sat them. A few moments later a waiter came and took their order. I found that to be weird and gave it a few minutes. The waiter came back with their drinks and proceeded to take their food order all before we were even offered water. We went inside to the bar to try to get served there but it was completely empty except for the same waiter who was behind the bar getting drinks for another table. He didn't even acknowledge us. After that we decided to leave. On the way out the same hostess was at the hostess stand with her back turned to us. We were pretty much out the door before she yelled out "have a nice day." I would hate to assume that the staff is in any way racist or prejudice but that is honestly how it looked and felt. I'm very glad that we left and went somewhere that was happy to serve us. I would advise management at Coopers to step in and get it together quickly before things get out of hand. read more

If i could give this place 0 stars I would. Not because of the venue itself or the food, I will admit, I did not experience them today, but the rude and un-accommodating attitude of the staff and dismissiveness with which my boyfriend and I were treated said it all. We walked in for a reservation at 6:45 (ahead of an 8pm concert) that was made a full week in advance. Due to chronic back issues, we requested a low-top table at the time of our reservation and were assured we would be able to be accommodated. When we arrived, we were offered a high-top, to which we explained our situation, and were told that they were overbooked and could only offer us the high-top. The one hostess attempted to assist, offered us a low-top in the front row, which we gratefully accepted, before another hostess stopped her, claiming a manager said she could not switch the tables. Mind you, of a dining room that seats, probably 200, there was a single table of 4 people sitting there. We were told we could "take it or leave it", so we had no choice but to leave. I do not claim disability, but I can't help but think how we would have been treated if one of us had showed up in a wheelchair? Would we still have been dismissed so rudely because we couldn't physically be seated in a high-top? It was especially disappointing, as this was the first real time in several weeks/months we have been able to go out, due to previous personal bouts with illness and not being able to both be fully-vaccinated against covid so this was the first time in a long time we have finally felt safe going out to celebrate together, and with one person's inability to reasonably accommodate, our night was ruined. read more

After wanting to try Cooper's Riverview for some time, we finally did... My wife wanted to take me somewhere for my birthday, and I chose Cooper's, which would be our first time dining there. We arrived there for a semi-late lunch and we were seated promptly outdoors (only one other table had a customer) as it was a beautiful weather day. Our waitress came over and told us it was new there & asked us if we have decided on what we were going to order, which in turn we said we weren't quite ready. A few minutes later the waitress came back, and we placed our drink order, my wife ordered a Bud Light Seltzer, I ordered the Asbury Park Sea Dragon Beer (both came in cans only). Almost 10 minutes went by & the waitress returned telling me they were out of Sea Dragon beer. OK, so I then ordered the Spellbound Porter, and just in case that was out, Jersey Girl IPA. We also ordered an appetizer of mozzarella sticks to start. I then ordered their (Award winning Jumbo) chicken wings large version. While still waiting for our drinks, waitress again came back saying they were out of the large wings, & I could order the small wings. Mozzarella sticks came out, still no drinks... She again returned saying they were all out of wings, which I then ordered the Lobster Mac & Cheese, and a Caesar Salad, my wife ordered the Marmont salad (now, I'm crossing my fingers). Almost 35 minutes went by before our drinks arrived (remember, they were canned drinks!) The waitress again told us she was new... They brought out both salads (cold item) & the Lobster Mac & Cheese (hot item appetizer, which should've been brought out with the Mozzarella sticks) all together. Apparently, there were issues with the sole customer behind us as well. As I said in the beginning there were only us & another table... The food was good, not exceptional, but like a good pub fare. Service was bad, it seemed like the 'new waitress' was never trained properly and did a lot of unnecessary running around... Had to ask for straws for my wife's drink. A good wait staff covers all the little details... When the check came, they were charging me for the award winning jumbo wings ($20.00), which I never received.. They did make the fix... Most likely, will not be making a return visit... Only good thing is they cut the bill in half. read more

Food and service is worst. The band, dancing and drinks (when you could get the bartenders attention) was good... Four stars. But the food and service was the worst experience I can remember having. Seven of us ordered dinner and drinks. They came out one at a time over one and a half hours (still waiting for my second drink). Worst part was the food and drinks were wrong. It took 6 deliveries to get a chicken dinner delivered. I could go on but to top it off our bill had 13 dinners and drinks on the bill we never ordered. We spent 30 minutes clearing it up and they were nice about it, but what a waste of time. Plus the food wasn't good. The cheese steaks have 3 tablespoons of meat and a large roll. Should not have been any issues. Not part of original group. Never once did they take a minute and reorganize. Double charged several items on bill and also charged wrong price from regular menu. Not even the so called happy hour menu. Servers gave the bill saying they definitely could have made mistakes so check it and let them know. Didn't have too many complaints but some. Then they wanted to forget what they said about the mistakes they could have made. Absolutely would never cheat a server. Used to be one. But this was appalling service. This was the first time (and last) time I will go here! While the food was good the hospitality was fair at best! The room was cold, the chairs were very uncomfortable! I have back problems and within 5 minutes my back and legs were hurting me from these outdated chairs! The service was ok but; we were never asked how everything was or if anyone needed anything! There was no bread served nor was there salt and pepper shakers on the table! No condiments! Two people in our group ordered coffee after dinner; there was no sugar or creamers on the tables and no spoons with our utensils! They were stirring their coffee with their knives and once again had to ask for cream and sugar! Also, when we received our checks the gratuity was added on to the total of our bill! While I didn't mind paying the gratuity I may have given more than 18% if I would have felt the service was better! I love the sauce in the seafood bucket, however it seems like the crab legs are getting smaller and smaller in size. I usually just get the crab legs and shrimp and tater tots with cheese sauce, but there should be an option to add more crab legs to your order. I ordered the pan seared shrimp with green chili and it must've been seared in water it was the most tasteless and rubbery shrimp I've ever eaten. I guess I was "cruisin for a bruisin" b/c I ordered another shrimp dish and it was the shrimp basket that came with red potatoes and corn, The sauce that was supposed to be a butter garlic something sauce but it was absolutely horrible. It lack any flavor except if you like the taste of oil than seasoning and flavor it was very lackluster to say the least the shrimp were terrible they were over cooked and the red potatoes were undercooked. If you like to drink and mingle this MIGHT be the place for you. If you're looking for really good food...don't eat here!! read more
