Glad to see they've spaced out their tables, so I felt comfortable dining here. We came in for Sunday lunch, and there wasn't any wait. Service was swift and friendly. Ambiance can use some bippity boppity on it as the decor is outdated and frankly, a bit too bland for something as festive as Cajun food. But what about the food, you say? Welp ... Fried chicken - delicious. Juicy, crispy, fresh, and each bite is so flavorful. There's a slight slight kick to it, but nothing anywhere intolerable - it's just a little tickle. The order of fried chicken comes with beer battered fried potatoes, and since I felt that fried on fried will be too heavy, I swapped for red beans and rice for an extra buck ... I can't say that was worth it because that portion size was SMALL. I mean, I legit needed like three servings of that to match the chicken lol. But ya know, the side items are like almost $4 a pop, so I nibbled on the rice while I took gigantic bites of chicken. Also had the crawfish bread and that was delicious. It was bordering on the "too salty" part, but it wasn't too bad. It was quite tasty and the amount of crawfish to bread was pretty good. Then my dude had the catfish stuffed with crab, rice, and since it came with a side, he opted for the creamed spinach. Now, the spinach was Delish! Yes yes yes! The catfish stuffed with crab and rice was a-okay. The catfish tasted under seasoned and may have needed a dash of fresh squeezed lemon or something like that to brighten up the plate. The fish could've also been cooked or broiled a bit more. The whole tab before tip was around $55. I would say it's pretty good for what you pay, but needs a bit more tweaking here and there to truly challenge the dishes served and ambiance provided by Pappadeaux (which is, on the other hand, is much more expensive with much much longer wait time). read more

Been here a few times, it's always a wait. The staff can be hit or miss. One time I waited 1.5 hours for a salad during a very slow service time. The bathrooms are usually a little dirty. The seafood menu is pretty fantastic though, offering étouffée and catfish. The restaurant itself is very pretty, with several seating rooms. Our server Ms. Donna did am excellent job today. She was prompt and attended to all our needs. The food was delicious.

The food is pretty good. It was plentiful and there was a large variety. We arrived at the perfect time 9:57 am. The doors opened at 10 and we were seated promptly at a nice booth near the start of the food line. There were about 3 salads to start. I enjoyed the kale, raisin, walnut, and yellow pepper salad. They had oysters on the half shell, so I tried 2. The food I had was not overly salted and this is a good thing-- but the macaroni and cheese didn't have much flavor. The small fried shrimp were tasty but a little greasy. The cheesy grits were delicious. The peach cobbler was good-- I loved the crust. The king cake was really good-- not sugary sweet. Avoid the coffee because it's not so tasty and rather weak. Two areas not working well when we were there: 1. The meat craving person slowed down the line significantly. He walked away from the meat leaving it unattended at least 3 times while we sat there. So, many persons missed getting meat at least the first time. One time he left and returned with a beverage which he drank in between carving. He wasn't using a fork to hold the meat rather his unchanged gloved hand. Noticeably, he was not changing his gloves although there was a box next to him. There was one women who asked him to change his gloves and he did. I waited in line a second time to get a taste of the meat. It was only fair and cold even after being dipped in au jus. The brisket piece was the end and too fatty to eat. The second area of concern was the omelet station-- just slow. There were 3 pans going and having 6 might help move the long line. I will say the omelette maker seems to be enjoying his job. Our server was excellent. She worked really hard and was attentive. We gave her a nice tip. I hope other patrons did the same for their servers because they were working hard. Copelands Had an extremely horrible experience, food poisoning 5/1/12022 Atmosphere 1. As a couple we were seated in the back room where they have all the groups with 4+ ppl. So it was loud back there, one table was cursing. At times it seem like one group was trying to be louder then the other. Again, idk why they would place a of 2 back there. When the main area was quite and you can enjoy a conversation without yelling. Spoke to the mgr, she said they place guest by the next available waiter. Which is retarded. Because you don't seat groups and 2-3 guests in the same area. So we cut out visit short Food: Order a dozen of the charbroiled & Rockefeller oysters. Very disappointed, the charbroiled wasn't charbroiled, but simply placed under a warmer to melt the cheese. Very small oysters. Rockefeller had too much cheese mixture. Couldn't taste the small oyster and very little bacon Classic trio: the etoufee was room temp. Nothing special. Red beans & rice was hot and tasty, The jambalaya pasta was horrible. Nothing more then diced chicken, sliced sausage over pasta with a sauce. Room temp Red beans & rice w/catfish: beans & rice hot, tasty. Catfish tasty, hot crispy Food poisoning: I started feeling nauseous. That was the only meal I had that day. Once outside, felt worst. About a hour later, I was extremely nauseous, light headed and felt like I needed to vomit. Shortly after, I vomited a few times, followed by diarrhea. This was the worst experience ever. read more

As we stood waiting for our table, I watched a waiter watch television rather than bus the tables in his section. It's disappointing to say that Copeland's is not what it used to be. Outside of the slow, poor service I believe due to under staffing or new hires, we enjoyed a fairly good meal. Portions were not the same and it seemed like the seasoning for the roux was little off to me in my etoufee ( I rememberit being thicker and more fragrant)... but my table enjoyed their meal. The chowder was excellent, and the samplers did not disappoint our guests who had never dined there. The Decatur fish was lacking seasoning, but the salads were fresh and well proportioned. The oysters were not a good crop and were really small. All on all, it was a decent dining experience, but not what we are used to from Copelands. read more

Copelands is a classic seafood establishment. I took my grandmother and uncle for dinner. Usually they are super picky, but they loved it. Their portions are very large. A Copeland's of New Orleans in Atlanta, What?!?! And is surprisingly really good. We were seated quickly on Sunday evening, restaurant was clean, love the New Orleans jazz decor, and friendly service. I always get a Crash and Burn but unfortunately due to Georgia law it has way too much alcohol, so they ditched the huge "fish bowl" to a standard bar glass. They now offer frozen and on the rocks. I preferred frozen much better. We ordered two fried seafood platters to share which is significantly smaller than I am accustomed to: Gulf Shrimp, Oysters, Maryland Style Crab Cake, Catfish, Onion Strings, and Fries. Everything was well seasoned, fried to perfection, and came out hot. Dessert- Plain NY Cheesecake and a Chocolate Cake. So good. Worth every calorie! All in all a great dining experience that is off of the interstate. It is near the AMC movie theater and has a large covered parking lot. Came in on Sunday after being told a 4 hour wait at Cheesecake Factory. Lowlands was only one hour and a half . We sat down once called which was closer to one hour exact. The food came out fast and our server was very tactful. I wish my run lunch was a little stronger as it tastes like juice . The crab cake pasta was good- and the fried chicken that normally has a twenty minute hold came out quickly. Overall I enjoyed the experience. Would like to come back for brunch . read more

Stopped in for lunch while in the ATL for a business meeting. The atmosphere of the place is pretty nice. It's warm and cozy feeling give you a relaxed feeling upon entering. The service was mediocre think we only seen our waitress 3 times during our visit. Drink order, food delivery and of coarse the check. Now that I think about it it was below mediocre service at best. The food was bland and they differently missed that authentic rich taste of Louisiana. We came here on a Saturday at 8pm, so we expected the wait to be long. We were pleasantly surprised to find that we only had to wait for about 25 minutes before we were seated. They are definitely very efficient when it comes to getting people seated. Our server was Donna, who was a sweetheart. She was highly attentive, gave us great suggestions, and made sure we our drinks were refilled before we needed them to be. She was also funny and entertaining. Now food. We ordered the stuffed mushrooms & spinach dip for apps. The stuffed mushrooms were okay, but the bow tie "chips" that came with the spinach dip were the star of the show. They are basically fried bow tie noodles, and topped with cheese. Amazing! For entrees, we ordered the Crab Cakes & Shrimp Alfredo, Shrimp & Crawfish Étouffée, Fried Chicken, and Steak Frites. *This review is only for the Fried Turkey around the holidays. * Let me start off by saying that $85 for a chilled turkey for Thanksgiving was not worth the price or the commute I took. The turkey is not SEASONED!!! It is a fried bird and that is all. If you are looking for a mouth-watering explosion of flavor, please save your money and buy one yourself and season it, or purchase a seasoned frozen turkey from Popeyes. Came back to Copelands with my family, we were seated quickly and the restaurant and restrooms were very clean (It was poorly lit so maybe don't take my word for it).
