This was my first time at Copeland's and it honestly exceeded my expectations. It's a New Orleans based restaurant so the food menu was lots of seafood. They do have chicken and steak options. For an appetizer I had chargrilled oysters and alligator. Entrée the stuff catfish, it was delicious. It was stuffed with crab meat. 10/10 Service was pretty good. My boss treated our team to lunch today at Copeland's. And this was my first visit to this restaurant. When I tell you, I was so pleased with the holiday buffet, and everything tasted good and was freshly prepared, had the appropriate amount of seasoning, literally! The one thing that I did not like was the cornbread dressing. It seemed like they made it from Jiffy because it had some sweetness to it. Other than that cornbread dressing, everything else was absolutely delectable. I even ate dessert, and anyone who knows me knows that I'm really not a sweets person but I did eat bread pudding, and it was superb! I went to Copeland's for Sunday brunch with a group of 9. Of course the wait is never fun, but once inside, the buffet options and service were very good. I don't eat meat and still found a variety of veggie options that were quite satisfying. Everyone in the group enjoyed their meal - not a single complaint. We visited Copeland's on a Saturday after attempting to visit another restaurant with a terribly long wait. We were seated immediately. The majority of patrons were there for the brunch buffet, which was massive and featured a variety of options. We aren't big buffet people, so we ordered from the regular menu. Service was attentive and prompt. Our meals were good. The only drawback was a "down" system in terms of collecting payment. Diners were asked to record their card information on paper receipts in order to close out. I know things happen, but this system seemed very antiquated in the age of technology and identity theft. When you walk in you feel like you are part of New Orleans!!! Then the menu have so many great choices!! I had the new Orleans seafood trio... all the right flavors were there!! I could of licked the dish clean if I finished it...lol. They do give you good portion sizes so I could experience it again. My friend had the red beans and rice with fish and she loved it! The hubby and I stayed in the Cumberland area of Atlanta when visiting. We searched for a place to eat dinner, and there were so many great options but we couldn't settle on anything. We passed by Copeland's and I made the executive decision to eat there. We went around 7 PM, and upon entry it was very quiet. There were some patrons in there but not a lot. We were seated immediately. Our server (Newton) came by pretty quickly to greet us and to get our cocktail and appetizer order. We started off with Sazerac and the charbroiled oysters. The Sazerac was delicious. It was definitely one of the better ones I have ever had. The charbroiled oysters were great too. They were cooked to perfection. Next, Newton came by to get our entree orders. I chose the Grilled Chicken with Yams and my hubby chose the Shrimp and Catfish platter, minus the catfish. My grilled chicken and yams were spot on. The yams were sweet (not overly sweet), and they contains pecan pieces. The chicken was tender and seasoned well. It was just enough food. It came with a biscuit instead of cornbread which was a letdown. In the south candied yams go with cornbread not biscuits. My hubby stated his shrimp platter was just ok. He said the fries needed to be cooked longer and the shrimp was just ok. It needed more seasoning. After dinner we were stuffed, but I just had to have a slice of turtle or praline cheesecake. They didn't have either; however, Newton stated they could add a caramel sauce with pecans to either a whipped cheesecake or a New York style. My hubby chose the whipped cheesecake and I chose the New York style. Both were absolutely delicious. Finally, Newton was amazing. He came by at the right times and offered tremendous customer service. He went above and beyond to ensure we were taken care of. Great job, Newton. We pulled up for their Saturday Brunch and it was PACKED. We were able to find seats at the bar and Mya was fantastic. The peach Bellini mixed with the crash & burn was our go to drink along with the brunch buffet which was phenomenal. read more

Copelands is such a comfort restaurant and staple in Atlanta. Our server, Erica, was fabulous and well versed on the entire menu to give us good recommendations. Our favorite items are not pictured because we ate them very quickly. The best items hands down on the menu are the appetizers the crab cake beignets and the crab claws. Give me 14 of them! Seriously if you get nothing get those two appetizers!! For our entrees we got the Decatur catfish, which was delicious, and the New Orleans trio which gives you a great sample of everything. The drinks are a tad bit sweet but also kinda strong so we enjoyed them. This is a heavy meal and will knock you out afterwards so be prepared to go home after. read more

Went for the Sunday buffet brunch to celebrate my husband's birthday and my big 70th birthday. There were 7 adults, 3 kids and 2 toddlers and EVERYONE found something to eat. Truly a fantastic buffet with breakfast and lunch (or dinner) items. Standouts - made to order omelet with crawfish, beignets, white chocolate bread pudding, fresh fruit, blackened catfish, shrimp, prime rib, freshly baked biscuits, etc. Great value and best buffet I have found. We arrived at Copeland's for their weekend buffet about 11:30 AM this Sunday morning. We had to wait for a table for 45 minutes so we sat at the bar. The bartender, Archie, was cordial and informative. That's where the good service ended. When we were seated at our table for the buffet our server ignored us for at least 10 minutes and then said she'd be back to take our orders for drinks. In a few more minutes she came back, and we pointed out the fact that we only had silverware/napkins for two people, and there were four of us. She said she'd take care it. Never happened. We had to find somebody else to get utensil. The buffet itself was substandard by anyone's opinion. They said they had a carving station with prime rib and ham. I got the prime rib and could hardly chew it. It was like something that would feed my dog like beef jerky. The ham was dry and inedible. They had breakfast things and an omelet station.. bad...the food coming off looked like it was made with powdered eggs. Whoever saw white eggs? Everything we tried was tasteless and cheaply done with the exception of the andouille sausage which my son said was okay. I could go on, but needless to say we will not return! Oh, the bill was $160 for three adults and one child. We had one beer, one Bellini and on sprite. Save your stomach and your cash. Skip it! The worst I've ever experience. read more

What can I say? We love this place. Great for groups or date nights! The food is delicious, and there isn't anything on the menu that we've gotten that we haven't liked! If you like buffets, brunch should be your scene! I love the crab cakes, and my husband loves the eggplant parm. Because they cook to order, you can edit the menu (for instance, chicken parm can be made as eggplant parm). Staff is friendly and efficient. Park in the parking deck and, if you go on the weekends, expect a wait. But it's worth it! read more

Copeland's reminds me of Owen Brennan's in Memphis, and I enjoyed every minute of it! I love a non-traditional brunch that gives you more of the lunch in brunch plus regular/brunch cocktails! That's the main reason brunch is 1 of my favorite things to do! It's the epitome of mid-day drinking, and I love that for us! The brunch buffet is super affordable and has a large variety! The staff is really nice and there are a lot of choices! The atmosphere is chill and serves as the perfect spot for you to dine with friends and family. My favorite dishes were the shrimp, red beans and rice topped with sausage, and the cheese grits. I highly recommend having 2 of the "Crash & Burn" cocktails because you really don't understand the meaning unless you try it for a second time! I have gone here multiple times since my first review - I believe they now have brunch on Saturdays and Sundays so it hasn't been as crazy busy but definitely still recommend coming as early as possible! The quality of the food and service still lives up to the hype, if not better than my first time! Had plenty of drinks and full bar, just when w/ pinot grigio to start. I ate at the bar and Jasmine was my server and bartender. She did great and knew the menu very well. She was on point all night and worked the bar as well as the tables in the bar for food and drinks. I was a little bad with the appetizer and got the bayou broccoli balls but it was very good. Fried perfectly and love the bacon and scallions. Entree was crab stuffed catfish bordelaise. Sides were red beans and rice as well as broccoli. Everything was very good. The catfish was perfectly blackened and went with well with the crab. The shrimp rice with the dish was a nice touch. The broccoli florets had parmesan on them and even though it was the canned parmesan cheese it tasted really good. Finally the red beans and rice was the classic with andouille sausage. I added hot sauce but still really good. Cool atmosphere with light jazz playing in the background. Good food and good experience. Now time for a nap. read more

Brunch on weekends kitchen manager needs to be fired. The French toast bites are always hard and burnt. Now the bananas foster is just dried soggy bananas with no syrup. I truly believe those lazy workers deliberately do this so that they don't have to replenish it. Like if everyone is grossed out and not getting it, it never needs to get replaced. I have asked and shown the workers and they say they will bring corrected edible food. And guess what- they never do. I haven't been in several months and Sunday was a reminder why. read more

Had a great experience for my first time. My server Donna was very attentive and explained the menu and offered some great dishes that did not disappoint. My appetizers consisted of Jazzy wings and panned alligator. (Super delicious). The table ordered the seafood platter and blackened catfish which wad tasty and well seasoned. I love this place so much. Let me start with if you like red beans and rice you will absolutely love it here! It was seasoned just right and cooked to perfection. I paired my beans with fried catfish and it was GREAT! The service was amazing our server Ariel was a gem and provided us with all the answers we needed as I was with a couple and they were asking all the questions (not needed haha) One of the things I love about Copeland is it always dimly lit so it creates a very intimate environment so whether you with a significant other or friends, it always set you up for great conversation along with great food. I really enjoy Copeland's and will be back over and over again. Visited Copelands of New Orleans yesterday while shopping in Atlanta yesterday. I've been coming to this establishment for over 20 years. They served a nice buffet but we ended up ordering off the menu. I didn't see a whole lot for people with gluten allergies/sensitivity but the red beans with rice are always good. All three of us ended up ordering some! They give you a large enough portion to have them as a meal but I ended up ordering them as a side along with mashed sweet potatoes and a Cobb salad. Mom and sis ordered chicken fingers with their red beans & rice. Key was our server and she was polite, informative and helpful. The best food & service! The place had such cute Christmas decor. Donna was a great server. She recommended the Shrimp & Tasso Pasta and I looooved it.
